A wall of warmth hits you. Whiffs of caffeine and cocoa arouse your taste-buds as you take off your woollen gloves. You begin to relax a little as you take in the room's neutral tones and soft jazz music, the familiarity of the scene welcome. Perhaps you're here to get some work done, meet a friend, or just relax. Whatever you're here for, you know there's no place you'd rather do it. Interest Check Out Of Character In Character ~ What is The Café? The Café is a sandbox roleplay set in a café. The purpose of it is to allow characters to develop relationships with others within the peaceful setting of café. There is no overarching aim, just the enjoyment of letting your characters interact with one another. Some fantasy is allowed- a magical girl taking a break from her day of work can come into the café (as can the monster she just defeated!). However, do not expect to be using magic a great deal: you are in the café to get to know other people, not to battle. The café may sometimes host events, such as a Valentine's day event. You may use these events as goals if you so wish (eg. Get a date for the Valentine's day event), however there is no obligation too. ~ Posting The posting system has changed. There will no longer be time slots. Time will just be moved forward as appropriate. When conversations start coming to a conclusion IC I will discuss wrapping them up and changing the time/date in the OOC. Then after coming to an agreement with the rest of the players I will enact the change IC. People can post as often or infrequently as they wish, just try to be respectful to other players by making sure you finish any scene you start with them in good time. Your character could be at the cafe talking to people all day, or just in for a single time slot chatting to a particular person. So you can take part in this whatever your posting speed is, and new players can join at any point in the RP. ~ Rules 1 - As usual, follow all of the Iwaku rules, not that anyone needs reminding.2 - Be respectful of other players. You should try to be polite in the Out of Character chats, and break basic posting etiquette in the In Character thread. 3- You can create a maximum of two characters, but you may only use one of them at a time. This may change in the future. NEW- An exception to this rule is that you may use both characters at once if they are involved in the same activities, such as a couple both talking to the same person. 4- Try to be somewhat active if you join. As I mentioned earlier you can post less regularly if you wish, but it would be nice to post at least once a week to show you are still interested in this roleplay. 5- Pay attention to when the time slots change. If the time slot should have changed but I haven't yet posted a summary of what occurred in the last time slot, patiently wait until I post a summary before making an in character post. If you think I may have forgotten to do the summary then feel free to remind me. 6- Patrons of the café are reminded that the café is a public space, so please refrain from using explicit language. 7- Have fun! ~Character Application Please fill in the following character sheet if you are interested in joining. For now you can create two characters, but may only use one in the In Character thread at time. An exception to this rule is if they are involved in the same activities, such as a couple both talking to the same person. This may change in the future. Do not go into too much detail in your character sheet: people shouldn't get to know your character here, but via conversations they have In Character. Accepted characters will be listed in the Out of Character thread. Name: Obvious. Gender: Also pretty obvious. Appearance: Image or brief description. Personality: Brief description. Other: Any other significant information. ~ Summary Setting: A café. Genres: Slice of life, urban fantasy, romance. Posting Speed: Any. Age: Any, so no explicit language.
