Vampires, Werewolves and all things evil have appeared time and time again throughout folklore. Which is exactly why people think they aren't real. But they are. And they're closer than you think. It is 1986, in a small mountainous town in western America, and reportings of strange occurrences are on the rise for the first time in 600 years. People have begin disappearing overnight, things have been seen running as fast as cars along a road before turning invisible. Animalistic humans have been sighted in a forest just outside the town, and for some reason, the town mayor seems to be mortally afraid of the dark, and has had huge sunlamps installed in every room of his house.

This is because this is the first true Blood Moon in 600 years, which is only visible in a few select spots around the world, and is the cause of gatherings of vampires and monsters from far and wide. The town is named Bedrock, and it is one of just 24 locations across the globe where the Blood Moon can be seen. It follows a typical american style town plan, arranged neatly around a central point. This central point is a small chapel which every creature of the night avoids like the plague. The town has a railway at the east edge which links it to a larger city, Churchtown, whose most prominent feature is a huge gothic cathedral that has been there since before any records can tell. To the west, a huge forest precedes a small mountain range, which isn't even tall enough to have snow covered peaks. The ground is relatively dusty, and the grass cover is only light. The town's main export is occult literature and trinkets, and most of it's income is due to tourists who come for the long history of haunted buildings. The forest is said to have the second highest suicide rate of anywhere in the world, beaten only by Aokigahara, near Fujiyama (whose "suicides" are actually murders committed by the mountain's resident ghosts.)

tram1.jpg

There are only a few key locations in Bedrock, where vampires are concerned anyway. Firstly is the vampire's Haven in bedrock - a 2 story tavern situated in the north of the town, named The Enclave, after the legend of the Three Witches of Bedrock. Secondly is The Tower - a 15 story building located in the south of the town. It has a very alien feel to it. It is painted monochrome black and has a futuristic feel to it's architecture. Finally is the satyrically named "Castle". It is a smaller tower, only 10 stories that functions like a hotel. The top 2 floors are reserved as a penthouse for the region's Vampire Prince. (see below)

There are 3 main kinds of supernatural which will be playable. I'm sure you all know what Vampires, Werewolves and Wizards are. Not the twilight or modern kind of vampire though, they're the more traditional kind.

There was originally only one vampire, cursed by a deity in the time of ancient Judea. His name was Cain and he serves as the father of all vampires. Only Cain is a generation 1 vampire. Each increase in generation, a vampire will be weaker. Only by defeating and cannibalising the corpse of an older vampire can they become stronger. Cain had 6 children, each of whom became the master of one of the Great Vampire Clans. Clans tend to spread out across the world, but instantly can recognise another of their clan regardless of generation or sire. (Your sire is whoever gave you vampirism. Vampires don't age, so a sire will usually always look older than an offspring.)

The main clans:

Ferals are your typical vampire. Super strength, super speed. They have relatively average ability to control their blood, so they are quite prone to Frenzying (That is, going insane due to lack of blood.) They are the ones that usually reveal themselves most often, and make the most children. They are the most common clan. They are most friendly with the Patterned clan, and are disliked by the Mind and Mask clans.

Patterned are quite rare. They aren't particularly strong, but their celerity (speed) is phenomenal. They are rather spontaneous and unpredictable and incredibly energetic. They're usually the ones that become vampires for fun rather than necessity. They are on good terms with the Ferals and Masks, but the Minds find them rather intolerable, as do the Gilded.

The Masks are very mysterious. They appreciate the occult almost as much as the Minds, and are masters of illusion and deception. They often grant their power to great assassins and this way, control mass politics of the human world. They are on good terms with the Mind and Patterned clans, but the Feral and Gilded clans do not trust them.

The Gilded clan is a very highbred clan. Few are created, and they are relatively weak in comparison to the Feral's strength or the Mind's magic, but they have an excellent mind for organisation and politics and are often elected to be princes and barons. They make very good leaders. They are on superficially good terms with every clan, because if they were on bad terms with any clan it could cause rioting. They do not trust anyone based on clan alone though, and prefer to know the individual. They are on best terms with the Eyes clan, since Eyes can be of great help to the Gilded when making decisions.

Eyes are quite reclusive and can remind people of witches and soothsayers. They lack strength and numbers, but they have the ability to see the future. This future tends to be blurry and rather riddle-like, but it can be incredibly useful. They can only see a few possible futures, as there is no one true future. They are on good terms with the Gilded and Twisted clans, and bad terms with the Ferals, who have been the cause of a lot of issues in the past.

The twisted are descendants of the vampire Nosferatu. They are considered the "runt of the litter". Their strain of the vampire curse causes horrendous aesthetic mutations as well as limiting brain function. They are seen essentially as slaves by the other clans, since they know no different. They are much weaker to sunlight and everything else than the other clans. They are on good terms with the Eyes and Mind clans, but despise the others.

The Mind clan are not really considered true vampires, since they were not the creation of one of the spawn of Cain, and they came into existence during generation 4, rather than 2. Originally, the Mind clan were wizards who were experimenting in immortality, and accidentally gave themselves vampirism. They have low physical abilities but make up for it in magic. They are on good terms with the Twisted, since, like the eyes, they can use magic to see through their physical limitations, and they are on good terms with the Masks since they share a common love of knowledge and magic. All the other clans are still suspicious of the Minds though, even 3000 years later.

There are also stray vampires who, while their sire belongs to a clan, they choose to roam nomadically rather than tie themselves to any family.

Each region has one prince. Usually a prince gains power by himself by being stronger than any other vampire in the region. Any vampire may challenge the prince, and if they win in fair combat, the challenger becomes the new prince. However, some vampire princes are selected by a council based on who would be best for the region, so if a challenge is declared, the entire council may fight, as is the case for Bedrock and the surroundings. The Bedrock domain is small, containing only Bedrock, the forest and the mountains. Churchtown, 30 minutes away by train, has another prince who is a close friend of Bedrock's.

Vampires are the most politically aware of the supernatural trio, so are in control of the supernatural side of the world. Werewolves are werewolves. Very strong and prone to transforming into a wolf-like creature. They are very aware of nature, and the nearby forest is one of their routes through which they move their spiritual pilgrimage. The Wizards have little care for the ways of the world, so tend to leave the vampires be. They have stronger magic than the Minds, and some wizards are so powerful they can manipulate time and matter directly. However the most common form of magician are "alchemists". These are people who use the concept of equivalent exchange to transform one thing into another thing of equal value (see Fullmetal Alchemist).

Who are you? A vampire? A Werewolf, a wizard? Maybe you're even yet another spiritual race. Whatever you are, you felt a tug on you a few months ago to travel to Bedrock, and so, here you are. Note that it is customary for a supernatural to introduce themselves to the local Prince upon arrival. Not doing so is considered rude and this prince is rather known for his intolerance of impolite people. The Enclave, the haven of vampires, offers free basement coffins for vampires to sleep in, as well as free blood, however, other races can enter the tavern, including humans, and the bartender himself is also a human, so if you need blood, you must ask for "That magnificent red tea". The Haven is accepted as the only place in the town that is safe for vampires to be in. No fighting is allowed inside, and this rule is obeyed by all vampires and other people who enter. Know this though. There are human organisations opposed to the supernatural, and they probably anticipated the influx of supernaturals due to the Blood Moon...

Characters:
When making a character, keep in mind that the longer they have been a vampire, the more prone they are to frenzy, and the more often they have to go into a century long hibernation. Also, keep in mind that the smaller the generation number, the stronger they are. If a new vampire is created they are instantly one generation younger than their Sire, so if I were a gen 7 and I made a new vampire, they would be gen 8. In order to control outbursts of vampires, Princes often order their lackeys to hunt down and destroy those who make too many offspring. There are also things known as Thralls, which are basically half vampires. They work just like humans do, but they age slower and are loyal to the sire that created them. They have no other vampire effects, though. They can go out during the day, they can eat normal food, and they don't get super strength or anything like that. For now, maximum of 2 characters per person, and they cannot be of the same species unless they're related. (For example, a sire and their offspring, a vampire and their thrall, a wizard and their apprentice.)

Name:
Age: (both actual age and how old they were when they were created)
Generation: (Lower generations are less likely to be accepted, since I don't want too many OP characters. By lower, I mean anything below 10. The youngest you can be at this point is 14.)
Appearance: (I'd prefer an anime image or a description, but other artworks are acceptable. Real life images are an absolute no go though.)
Species: (If you make a new supernatural race, make a spoiler and put in details about that race. Note that all supernaturals start off as humans. You cannot be born as a supernatural.)
Clan: (If applicable)
Personality: (Give a short paragraph. Just listing a few words doesn't give much of an idea as to what they're like.)
Backstory: (Where they came from, who they used to be, which village they terrorised.)

Name: Arata Karagane
Age: Actual, 4078. Transformed, 25
Generation: 7
Appearance:
latest

Species: Vampire [but many call him a Lich]
Clan: Mind
Personality: Arata is straightforward with people. He doesn't take the time to sugar-coat things. Nor does he really care, he acts as he pleases and does not allow anyone to control him.
Backstory: Arata was a lighthearted individual before he was changed. He didn't mind bending the rules a little, though, this aspect of him simply evolved into him making his own rules. His time with the wizards was spent studying necromancy [his specialty] and goofing off a large portion of the time. Many of the wizards didn't like how lightheartedly he took magic, but his skill was undeniable. So, he was one of the first to be sired due to his skill. At first, Arata was, less than pleased by the sudden change, but with time he grew to accept this new form.

Oh whoops I think I must have forgotten to put on relative power. A generation 5 vampire would be capable of destroying an entire army of humans without breaking a sweat. Their hibernation period would also be somewhere around 500 years sleep for every 10 years awake. Also, with the Mind clan: While the vampire clans were going through gen 2 and 3, the Minds were a cult of incredibly powerful mages, the ones that could manipulate time and matter. Then, they accidentally turned themselves into vampires while seeking immortality. These were around the time of gen 4, but they have the power of a normal gen 2. About 75% of their power turned into a blood-descendance thing, so newly created vampires of the Mind clan wouldn't need to be mages to start with, they'd gain magic even if they were normal humans. The other 25% of their original strength is what made the gen 4 vampires have the power of gen 2. The gen 5 ones have the power of a normal gen 5, rather than a gen 3.

Personality: Quite curious, always invading personal space, he is also cocky and extremely annoyed by lower races such as humans and wanna be's. He is intelligent and can speak 4 languages; Russian, German, French, English
Backstory: He keeps his past quite silent however all that is really known about his past is that he became a vampire by choice after his abusive family threw him out one night after he was blamed for something he didn't do. He had become a vampire and sought to kill his family...years went past and well Victorian England is where he really picked up his name...ever wonder why he was never caught? Want to find out?

Changed his gen to 7, is that okay?

Gen 7 is still ridiculously powerful, but I'll allow it. Mei-Mei-Mei and Lucian are accepted. However, it does mean I need to come up with another antagonist, cos I was gonna use Jack the Ripper for that, but as a werewolf :D

xD wow, talk about ideas, If you like i can change my name?

Nah it's fine. With Ripper being pretty stealthy he already didn't fit my template very well. It encourages me to be more creative with finding popular historical figures :D

Name: The Cardinal
Age: 1055
Generation: 11
Appearance:
the-greatest-animes-ever-created-f34eace7-478f-4ece-af4c-688e354b6729.jpeg

Species: Vampire
Clan: Gilded
Personality: The Cardinal is incredibly manipulative and cruel. While he isn't particularly powerful, he channels all of his strength into being resistant to the typical weaknesses of a vampire. He cannot move in sunlight, but he can survive exposure to garlic, holy water, religious icons and most other things that might reveal his existence. He has entire cults dedicated to believing he is a god, and, as with any religion, this gives him a lot of holy power at his disposal. He is known as a vampire hunter, a slayer of his own kind, often employed to chase down and destroy vampires that frenzy.
Backstory: The Cardinal was a Christian priest who died in the mid 10th century. He made a deal with a vampire to escape his fate, and was reborn as an undead. He continued his role as a priest, slowly converting people to belief in him, rather than belief in God. He claimed a dominion in medieval England, but other vampires knew he was weak. He managed to replicate the power of religious icons and used it to destroy any vampire that even came close. He was forced to abandon his claim with the industrialisation of England, when it became impossible to control groups of people with ignorance. At this point he left to roam the world, finding work as a vampire slayer, slowly building up a permanent cult following.

Name: The Violet Flame, Shiro
Age: 250
Generation: n/a
Appearance:
1510045-bigthumbnail.jpg

Species: Mage
Clan: n/a
Personality: Shiro is unpredictable and sadistic and has a love for destruction. She shows unrivaled talent, something that hasn't been seen among mages since the time of the founding of the Mind Clan. She has great respect for those mages, and often associates herself with their descendants, the Minds, and by extent vampires in general.
Backstory: Originally, Shiro was a shrine priestess of Shinto. She used to train in holy magic under the guidance of a master demon hunter. Even then, she showed great talent for magic, able to read the components of a spell in an instant. She learnt that holy magic was actually very weak, and the power of Shinto in general was fading. She realised that holy magic was based entirely on how many people believed in the patron deity of the user, and so, if the patron deity lost faith, she would lose power. She quickly abandoned the path of the shrine priestess and adapted her magic to the style that gave her her name and reputation - the Violet Flame. Known across the world, the Violet Flame is a dangerous combination of fire mage and spirit mage. Her fires burn hotter than the sun and continue even after all burnable material has been depleted. She can replicate the vampiric power of Suggestion, controlling souls by putting ideas into their heads. Weaker souls, like that of a human, she can manipulate directly, turning them into a minion or even forging them into a razor sharp blade. She is often called upon by supernaturals and humans (with occult knowledge) alike to end their petty issues.

Age:
Her actual age is 3265 and she was changed when she was 19

Generation:

6

Species:
Vampire

Clan:
Mask

Personality:
Rei is quite mysterious and never tells a secret making her perfect for the Masks. She is adventurous and never gives up, even in the face of death. She's very smart and unpredictable. She tends to be a bad girl but is loyal to the end.

Backstory:

Rei was born in a small village near the forest beside Bedrock. At that time no one knew of the werewolves so they were all happy. Rei was a good young girl and always helped out. But when she turned 19 she decided to venture out into the forest. She met a man there and they chatted for a bit but it was slowly getting dark. Rei began heading home but the man pinned her to a tree. She didn't know what was going on until she felt his fangs pierce the skin on her neck. When he took his fangs out Rei became dizzy and passed out.

She awoke in the middle of the night when she heard a high-pitched scream coming from the village. She was under a bunch of leaves and twigs. Rei stood up and ran home at amazing speed. But, she was to late. When she got to the village everyone had been slaughtered. Rei saw werewolves everywhere and in fear ran into the forest. She could tell she was being chased. Rei was almost caught but when she was at the edge of the forest the vampire prince saved her. He took her to his home and they chatted then he let her stay for a short while. When Rei was ready she was put into a house where she still resides.

Name:
Sayomi

Age:

Her actual age is 253 but she appears to be 15

Generation:
N/A

Species:
Half Wolf Demon

Clan:
N/A

Personality:
Sayomi is very stubborn and has trust issues. She never gives up, even in the face of death and she is fierce. She is rather childish but calm. She can be kind and gentle when she chooses though. She is very loyal and protective as well.

Backstory:
Sayomi was born as human in a village not far from the mountains near Bedrock. She was a very happy and kind girl when she was human. She only lived with her mother because her father was killed in war. She grew up as any other young human girl. But, when she was 15, a witch visited the village. She took a liking to Sayomi and they became fast friends. Sayomi and Haru (the witch) were always together. But they got into a sight one night. You see, Haru was in love with Sayomi's boyfriend and kept trying to steal him from her. Sayomi finally won because her boyfriend chose her. In anger, Haru put a curse on Sayomi.

The next day, when Sayomi awoke she saw she had wolf ears. Sayomi freaked out and ran to her mom for help but her mom screamed and ran out of the hut. Sayomi, panicked, fled to her boyfriends house but he was so scared he tried to kill her. Sayomi ran away from the village but when she looked back she saw Haru, tears streaming down her face. Haru mouthed 'sorry' and Sayomi ran awya from the village and never returned. Sayomi found Bedrock but collapsed just on the edge of the forest.

When she awoke, Sayomi was in a room lying on a pillow with blankets over her. She sat up and looked over to see a vampire prince watching her. They talked for a while and he agreed to let her stay with him until she found somewhere to go. When the castle was built Sayomi was put in the comfiest bedchamber on the 9th floor where she still resides.

This whole RP was inspired by me rewatching Hellsing Ultimate :D. If you haven't seen the banner for it yet, it's also Alucard :P. But the one that's actually based on Alucard is going to appear later. He's a gen 2, after all. Can't have an OP vampire like that appearing so soon.

@~Death~ Urm about the first one... She's 6400 years old. Meaning she was turned into a vampire in 4400 BC, and yet when she turned into a vampire, she woke up immediately on a train. I'm sure I dont have to point out that trains were invented in the 1800s. 6200 years after she became a vampire. Also, 6400 years ago is only a little shy of the original vampires. Cain was turned into the first vampire around 7500 years ago. Gen 12 must be created by a gen 11 sire, so most gen 12s were being created around the year 1400 AD.

About the second one. Supernaturals cannot be born as supernaturals (not even as half-supernaturals). In order to become a supernatural one must first belong to a mortal species, namely Humans. Most yokai-class supernaturals are turned into yokai due to a curse, and other than Kitsune, they tend to be relatively weak. (There are 3 major supernatural races, Vampires, Werewolves and Kitsune that were created directly by a god's interference, which'll be explained later. All other supernatural races came into existence due to twisted human emotions, or the use of human magic.) Also there are some flaws in the backstory too. I'll ignore that I find it incredibly cliche. First: She was pinned to a tree for 50 years, and she had been alive for 15 years before that. That means she's been staying in a 1980s style hotel for 324 years. The Castle was only built 4 years ago (which admittedly, you couldn't have known). Also, like I said earlier, Demons cannot survive in the mortal world since if they come here, they are cut off from the magic of the Supernatural dimension that supports them. Unless you're meaning yokai, which actually translates as monster, not demon. The closest word to Demon that Japanese has is "Oni". And since the nearest town is Bedrock, that means the forest must be the one between Bedrock and the mountains, which is populated by Werewolves. Thus, no village would be able to establish itself inside the forest. I do like both the characters though, so if you can address these issues, both are accepted.

Amaranth Blanc, pink

Name:
Amaranth Blanc

Age:
3000+ (15)

Generation:
8

Appearance:
tumblr_lwb1hh57AW1qbs05mo1_500.gif

Amaranth has pale pink hair that deepens into magenta, starting in the middle. Her hair is usually just past shoulder length, and she has some shorter locks framing her face and brushing her forehead. She has ruby red eyes, and pale skin, with delicate features. Her looks are deceptively frail, often reminding others of a doll, or a fragile flower, her strength hidden behind a petite, slender body like a dancer's. She stands at a height of 5'2". She prefers to wear red clothes, though she has been known to also wear white.

tumblr_n1i3v8CvOk1r1xmp6o2_500.gif

Species:
Vampire

Clan:
Mask

Personality:
guilty-inori-yuzuriha-315466136b.gif

Amaranth has a soft-spoken personality, often keeping her calm in the most straining situations. Given her appearance and her rather passive outlook on things, most would get an impression that she is weak. But Amaranth can be forceful when she needs to be; she just prefers to think of ways that do not involve violence, if it isn't needed. She has grown tired of trying to prevent catastrophes or conflicts for the vampires and supernaturals, and often keeps to herself in current times. Though if she is summoned by a superior, she would still come and obey them.

tumblr_mffudyIGqu1rv3cfio1_500.gif

She hides a darker side of herself; a part that is angry at how her circumstances came to be, and how she has let herself be used by the vampires. Like all vampires, she hides a more sadistic, vicious side of herself that is kept under tight wraps, only showing hints of it when she is truly angry. When she is angry, she loses all expression on her face and speaks in a very soft tone.

Backstory:
A young girl was born in a poor village, with strange powers. Everyone was superstitious and cautious of everything that was remotely 'abnormal', and this singled the girl out. Children shunned her for her strangeness, and she kept more to herself. There was one child that befriended her, but it ended horribly. One day, this strange powers and traits of hers was identified as a potential for great magic by a vampire from the Masks. Her parents agreed to sell her to the vampires, the entire village was starving and they were offering a handsome price. The boy that befriended her heard of this, and urged her to escape with him. The two ran away in the night before she was to be given to the vampires, and the boy took her to the mountains to live alone. She grew up there until she was a beautiful maiden of thirteen, and she grew feelings for the older boy. The mountains were a haven for the two, with her talents in magic, though untrained, flourishing day by day, showing a talent for healing and illusions. But they were caught one day.

tumblr_mgj9dbZzfZ1rvi1zto1_500.gif

The vampires seized the girl from the mountains; threatening the villagers if they tried to help her. The boy fought the villagers, but was ultimately beaten down while the girl had to watch. The last view she had of the boy, she thought he had died, and a darkness grew in her heart. The girl was kept captive by the Mask clan, training her everyday in magic - a talent she had before she became a vampire - and her psionic skills. She was a talented telepath and had telekinesis, making her very powerful even before she was transformed. For two years, she was kept in the dark, trained to become a powerful tool to them and to grow used to living in the night, away from the sun she had loved so much. However, her lust for revenge against the village that had abused and mistreated her grew and grew along with a certain coldness. When she was sired by the Masks, and a new, volatile vampire she asked her sire to let her try out her training on the village. The village, being poor, the vampires thought they wouldn't be missed much at all, and let her.
large.gif

To their twisted amusement she slipped in in the middle of the night and massacred the entire village. Unfortunately for her, once she went out of her craze, she realized she had also killed her childhood love, who hadn't been killed as the had thought. This broke her heart and let a little of her humanity and conscience come to light again, and since then Amaranth has been against violent means to get what one wants, a pacifist among vampires. She doesn't force humans to offer themselves to her, but merely charms them into letting her, and is kind to them when she drinks. In modern times Amaranth always has an adult human posing as her guardian or if there are two of them, her parents. She has used her illusions and her vampiric powers to beguile them into taking care of her, and she erases their memories of her drinking from them regularly. Other than that, she takes great care of them, rewarding them in a way by taking care of their business or their enemies. Amaranth is one of the most powerful vampires from Generation 8, with her telekinesis and telepathy being so advanced that she has to keep tight control over those powers to keep them from seeping out. Her skill in magic and illusions is also exemplary, and she is the pet of the elders of the Masks.

Huh hell of a lot more masks than I had expected. A couple of things. Firstly, its not really that vampires have a darker side that they hide, its that their entire personality is their "darker side". The older ones, typically the ones that have lived for more than 2000 years, have quite a lot of difficulty keeping themselves under control. They frenzy very easily. It's kinda a balance thing. You can be as old and powerful as you want, but in exchange, you have only a few hours between needing to drink blood, whereas a newborn vampire, while weak, will be able to go several weeks without drinking. You also get weaker the more time has passed since you last drank. The less blood you have in you, the faster you incinerate and the weaker your strength and speed enhancements are. Sometimes it can weaken your magic too, if you inherited your powers through blood rather than it being your own talent. Secondly, a newborn vampire, even of gen 8, wouldn't be able to raze a village. Considering, y'know that razing things tend to require fire. Something that vampires are incredibly afraid of. But other than those, the character's good. Provided you keep them in consideration while RPing I have no problem.
Anyway I'd say we had enough to start the IC, so I shall do that now.

Ok. ^^ I'll edit it tomorrow, I'm going to bed soon.

Amaranth will be a powerful vampire and magic user, so she has to regularly feed. Her magic is a latent talent that was greatly enhanced when she became a vampire, along with psionic abilities. As for the village, is a massacre ok? She'd consume the blood of everyone in the village before destroying it with her magic.

Well, depending on how many armed guards were in the area and who the sire was, it'd probably be possible. A newborn vampire doesn't stand much of a chance if they're outnumbered and cornered, and some sires might not allow their newborns to adapt to their power at will. Especially those of Gilded and Mind clans, who need to keep up appearances. Going on a rampage tends to look like you're frenzying, and frenzying often gets a Blood Hunt placed on your head, so be careful how that's done.

They're all good now, but just to make it clear, the current Prince of Bedrock only came into power about 100 years ago, and princes change every 200 years or so anyway, so the prince that the two characters were involved with would be different princes to the current prince. Their princes are most likely dead by now, considering this prince came into power through combat by killing the previous prince, as is the most usual way of coming into power.
