To my newest students, I'd like to welcome you to the Western branch of Blood Knight City. I'm sure you've traveled a long way to get here. Make yourself at home, and feel free to ask any questions along your career here!
To our returning students and faculty--welcome back.
The Blood Knight Academy is proud to call itself the largest center of civilized supernatural creatures in modern recorded history. Not only are we a safe place for all non-normative sentient beings to co-exist in harmony--we're also host to the largest peace-keeping mythological organization in this standing dimension. We welcome you and all kinds to become a part of our effort to keep both worlds on either side of the dimensional gap at peace.

Blood Knight City is located behind the worldly veil of what's considered Modern Humanity. It's main office is located in various places around Planet Earth where the veil between the dimensions are weak enough to support a tiny doorway. These tiny gateways are usually housed around International Bureaus.
Technically, Blood Knight City is a country-state of sorts in a wider dimension of mythical domains, and serves as a hub for many people to go to and from both places. It's only one of the many. There's a branch for ever cardinal direction. One deep under water, and one within the depths of space. Mind you, this dimension is many times larger than the Human World. Possibilities are endless.
The Secret Order of Red Knight
In the beginning there were only The Overseers...
A mass of sentient energy--a hive-mind of potential and souls.
And thus the Overseer created the World.
Groups of entities upon entities--mass variety.
So that it could view the universe through multiple eyes..
All at the same time.
Two groups held and managed the polarity between the energies of the Universe.
The Mythicals, technicians of the fluid, emotionally-charged magical energy of the Universe.
Mankind, masters of the masculine energy of skill, knowledge, and ambition.
Both different. Yet the same.
All diverse. Yet of one soul.
This is the Secret of the Overseers.
Many eyes. One seer.
One Overseer.
The origins of our Universe..
Together these groups under the great Light of the Overseers would live and thrive-complimenting each other to build a new world of pure advancement and spiritual technology. Although many humans would grow to hardness magic and many mythicals to harness machine--
But balance was soon toppled.
In their difference they grew angst and jealousy.
In their separate ways of being they grew hatred and pride.
And soon enough, the energies of the Universe were at war with one another.
Man and their Machines against The Mythicals and their 'magic'.
In their ancient disobedience The Overseers grew angry.
In a new tumbled sense of balance, the Overseers had rumbled in response to the angst request of it's creation.
They created The Order of Red Knights--men and women born of Sacred Blood to govern the dimensions The Overseers had made.
Each shards of The Great Overseers.
Red Knights, born with the powerful strength of the Mythicals.
Red Knights, born with the powerful mind of Man.
In their mortal eyes they had forgotten the peaceful mission they were yet born with.
With their near god-like power--they had chosen to forcibly split the dimensions by half.
One home for the Mythicals, by which they will govern and protect.
One home for Mankind, by which they will live in peaceful un-knowing of their existence.
And with the creation of The Blood Order and Academy, the Red Knights had disappeared.
Leaving only their relics and ancient words behind.

Of course, there's an infinite way to get to Blood Academy.
a) Normal citizens within the Blood Knight Dimension typically apply like normal students
b) Paranormal or magical cases within the Human World are transferred, kidnapped, abducted into the Blood Knight Dimension.
c) Humans with special needs are tested in order to be filtered into the academy
d) However else you choose...
But before you enter the academy..you've got to pass initiation.

The Order of Custodians is the local defense system of employed warriors hidden throughout the academy. The statues. The professors. The Janitors (Hence Custodians), Restaurant Owners--every part of the regulative maintenance faculty double in function as a highly arranged detective-and-warrior type society that is based in the deep underbellies of the city and academy.
The Club
The Club is an experimental division in the Academy. Typically people that can serve to protect the dimensions from harm are recruited into the academy--with some form of potential merit that can translate into the real world. Whether thats detective, covert black ops, reaping souls, taking care of dangerous threats, hopping dimensions and protecting mankind from Mythical Terrorists.
The Club? Not so easy to say. Sometimes human beings and mythicals are born with odd powers. Like the power to turn into a teacup at will. Or the power to psychically tell where the nearest bathroom is. We recruited them anyways..why? Often times this early handicap either 1) grows into a mighty power in near-death situations or 2) they grow into niches that we find useful.
Most of the Club Members discover their maximum potential as they grow.
Also it's just hilarious to send them on missions and watch them from a far.
The Bureau of Inter-Dimensional Affairs
Tiny gateways housed by offices in multiple obscure countries. Usually manned by human-like androids, with multiple forms of mythicals working the portal gateway in the back.
It's a pretty small and nifty operation managing the portal that's a 3 inch hole in the fabric of time--typically this is a job known for small elves, dwarves, anthropomorphic creatures, fairies and whatever else can work fine machinery.

Zodiac Contractual Magic, The Totem Dimensions
It is said that every soul that enters the physical plain has formed a psychic contract with the universe based on their date and time of birth. Blood Knight calls this ancient form of magic Contractual Familiar Magic, or Zodiac Magic. There are multiple totem systems created around these birth dates. From the English to Chinese. That means when you create your characters, be certain about the birthday you choose.
You are taught to contact your animal totem through a contractual agreement signed in specially formulated ink. This contract often allows you to varied levels of power based on the mechanics of your animal totem, if you can defeat them in battle that is.
The magic here can also be combined with The Principles of Entropy and Order to further enhance your familiar's power--with or without risk.
Portal Creation: Hopping Dimensions
Unless your power entails teleportation that includes dimension hopping, you'll need to cross dimensions in some of these ways:
a) Using Blood Knight's patented Cross-Jumper badge. Handed out after initiation has been passed.
b) Hunting down a secret Dimensional Bureau
c) Going to place where the layered dimensions have significantly weakened and hoping to find a gap that might drop you somewhere near where you need to be. Dangerous folk may be there. Anything can happen. And it isn't always likely that the gap will be able to hold you. You wouldn't want to appear only from the waist up, would you?

Protecting the Human Dimension while remaining undercover
A very secret sect of human governmental systems have made contact with our realm. We've made an agreement to stay out of human-caused warfare so long as no mythical creatures are involved.
However, crossings between the worlds are only allowed if
a) There is mythical terrorism within the human world
b) There is human interference or terrorism within the mythical world
This is why the Bureaus exist.
The Principles of Entropy and Order
The principle of Entropy and Order is simple.
Entropy represents untied emotions, volatility and chaos. It's based on any scale of negative emotional attributes: the 7 deadly sins, the stages of grief--any emotional scale is valid for inspiration. The magic system isn't very strict since
a) it adheres to the user's unique personality
b) I want you to be creative
This is a dark force and sense of polarity in the heart that can be manipulated to greatly enhance your power--with risk. The longer you stay in a state of Entropy-engaged magic, the closer you become to a monster. Once you've passed a certain length of time of Entropy within the dimension you may become permanently disfigured into your nearest Totem Zodiac. To maintain peace and stop wild, entropy-enraged monsters to roam the land, The Order of Entropy exists to tame and destroy such monsters upon appearance. This is a sect of The Blood Knight Academy specialized in taming beasts.
Entropic and Order Magic can be applied to your Zodiac beasts using special powered items or summons, these are different and apart from your normal summons within your contract. Remember. Beasts under entropy have no sense of control and may end up double-crossing you or escaping your grasp. This is a special type of summon requiring you to manage a form of magical or physical seal around your familiar.

Resurrection
Emotion: Fear of Letting Go of Loved One
With high enough skill and the right resources, Entropy Magic can be used to resurrect the dead-a highly forbidden form of mythical power.
Immortality
Emotion: Fear of Death
There is a specific order in which to go about immortality if one should so please. But it's not discussed very often, and highly illegal within the civil mythical realm. Engrossed in the ultimate entropy--the emotion of powerlessness--you'd have to want to see the ultimate form of power. That is, immortality and total control over an inevitable circumstance.
High-Skilled Act of Order (Example)
Emotion: Healing and Forgiveness
With high enough skill, Order Magic can be used to heal the body and minds of infected individuals--sometimes even those caught deep in the roots of Entropy.
The Well of Knowledge
There are large scrolls carried on the backs of ancient monks. They call them 'scrolls with ears'. As they record the lives and knowledge around its wearer and transcribes the information deep within a hidden temple--The Well of Knowledge.
This 4-foot 100 pound scroll often can be used to unravel and open up to reveal multiple maps and personal histories of the user its been attached to. If you want to see the history of the world--try to locate the mysterious Well of Knowledge.

I want everyone to consider their powers, magic systems, the cost of their magic--within good reason.I want the themes to be somewhat mature. Yet tongue-in-cheek and comical at the same time.
Good times. Bad times. All that good stuff we love from good anime.
It's a bit of everything in that aspect, all wrapped together in an actiony-adventure package.
I'd even say it's a bit of a 'slice of life' rp if you'd like to go in that direction...a 'slice of life' that a bunch of mythical creatures in a save-the-world academy could get.
