Welcome to Earth. Not… your Earth, mind you. One of the infinite planets in the infinite universes that calls itself Earth. And on this Earth, history has gone a bit different than it has on the Earth we know and love. Beings with incredible abilities, will and morale helped to bring help to their Earth when faced with an economy crushing depression. And these beings brought justice to their Earth, being integral in driving back the forces of the Axis Powers in the 40’s. The world slowly rebuilt itself, and the gathered group of freedom fighters became a more permament fixture in history.
The Justice Society.
There were few foes or threats that they weren’t up to handling. But there was a singular enemy they wouldn’t be able to stand against. Time. For all their flash and zing, the Justice Society were still only human (mostly). And so time began to creep up on them as one. They came to recognize this over the years, and they knew there was something they had to do.
Those that wish to bring harm to this Earth and her people would never stop being what they were. ‘Evil’ some called them… but then ‘good’ and ‘evil’ are just matters of perspective, aren’t they? Regardless, a time came when the Justice Society felt they were losing their edge. But they also knew a new generation would come along, and they had hoped this new generation would be willing to carry on the mantle of justice.
The 1950’s came and went…. along with poodle skirts and letter sweaters. The 60’s was a fun time for many, with go-go boots and tie dye T-shirts. The 70’s found much of the world hip deep in another war. Around this time period, the Justice Society was simply ebbing. The 80’s came, and so did an idea amongst the Justice Society. More and more beings with fantastic powers were emerging… but the Justice Society was passed the point of being able to take on side kicks. And to properly train them, really. And so pooling resources, they began a sort of Academy. The Argo Academy, it came to be known. That name picked for a very specific reason. Once more using their considerable resources, the remainder of the Justice Society sought out young beings with superhuman abilities… and invited them to be trained with the world’s greatest and most storied group of men and woman.

A cool breeze draws in from the distant water, coursing along the city of Gotham. It’s early February, and it’s still a bit cold outside. The sun is out on this particular Monday, but the cold can still be felt. Most moving about the city are bundled up in warm jackets and boots, as Gotham tends to have a good amount of snowfall this time of year. Even if it’s nearly at its end. And occasionally there are loonies trying to bring about a new Ice Age in Gotham City… so there’s that.
Quite a few miles outside of the Gotham City limits stands a property with a rich history. The large mansion like structure could be a character in of itself, really. And perhaps someday such a story would be told of it. But for now… it would serve as a picturesque mansion, being utilized for the education of tomorrow’s leaders. One would find it rather out of the way… which is how the administrators would prefer it. Less people to peer into the school, less of the population to be disturbed by whatever training would happen to be going on. A long lane leads from the main road to the building proper. The front property having only a small forest worth of trees about it, same with the whole of the surrounding property. Those invited to this school would have received a letter of invitation…. one giving the address and instructions. ‘Get to the airport, a car will be waiting for you. The driver will be holding a sign with your last name. The driver will bring you to the Academy. Airfare has been taken care of. All you need to do is start the journey. We will help you the rest of the way.’ One must ask… was the letter referring to simply getting to the school, or the life these children were about to start?
And so one by one those invited would have made their ways to the airport, carrying the tickets that had been sent with them. Of course not everyone accepted this invitation, and those tickets were simply canceled. And once they arrived at their destination south of Gotham City, they would indeed be met by a nondescript man or woman holding a sign with their last name on it. They wouldn’t be overly talkative, but very polite. Making small talk the whole drive, which lasts almost 45 minutes. And once they have been brought to the broad front steps of the school, they would see signs indicating for them to enter through the front doors. And then down down the halls, following signs to an auditorium. A little snack table is set up there… a single microphone stand upon the stage, and 30 or so folding chairs set up facing said stage. A radio plays softly the local radio station, it sounds like a soft rock station. And above the stage, a banner with the ‘Justice Society’ logo in small print of the corner of the banner… and the words in large print across its front ‘Welcome Leaders of Tomorrow!’.

A few years ago…
With a grunt the young girl lands with a hard stumble upon the gravel path. She lets out a soft whine once she gets her footing, and then she is in motion once more. She dashes through the forest, knowing she is being hunted.

She hears something click in the dense set of trees ahead of her, and lets out a soft cry as an arrow grazes her cheek. Stumbling once again she falls, her hand held to her bleeding cheek. She feels tears rimming her eyes… the wound isn’t terrible, she’s had worse. But her nerves are about shot at this point. And then things get worse. From somewhere behind her there is a hissing snarl sound, echoing through the forest around her. Scrambling to her feet, she runs once more. Her breathing comes in heavy pants now, her vision feeling a little blurry as she races from the threat all around her.

The girl is just 12 years old, her shoulder length blond hair is tied into a ponytail. She is wearing light blue colored jogging pants and matching light jacket. She is rather dirty at this point, having been out here running scared for close to 3 hours now. But she doesn’t let herself stop.

Another soft clicking sound from her right, and she leans down just in time to avoid an arrow to the shoulder. But she stumbles again with a loud whimper, her form losing balance. She falls forward onto her hands and knees, and then someone is suddenly in front of her. She forces herself to rear up and get back to her feet, just as a large fist shoots towards her face. Gritting her teeth she’s able to get her hands up and deflect away the blow, but she never sees the left hook coming. In anguish and pain she cries out as her head snaps to one side, and she is thrown to her knees. The large man before her draws his fists back, and he brushes off his hands as he looks down at her. He wears a mask that portrays him as a cat… a large and muscular catman. But most people just call him Wildcat. “Ready ta hang it up for t’day, kid?” She shakes her head quickly as she sits on her knees, holding her cheek where he hit her. She keeps her gaze down, wanting to keep her tears hidden. “Come on, we’ll head back. Sun’s pert much gone. We’l-” He is cut off with her angry shout as she forces herself to her feet, her knees wobbly. “I said no! I’m goin again! Now uncle Ted!” Most people call him Wildcat, she calls him Uncle Ted. Uncle Teddy when she’s not pissed. He sighs softly and nods a little, walking away from her. “I’ll tell Kent ta reset the traps. And move ‘em. So.. watch yer tail, kid.” He goes into a light jog and dissapears into the darkening forest. The girl turns and starts to walk angrily back to her starting point, kicking gravel as she does. With the same anger she brushes at her eyes, willing her tears away.

“She is very angry, Wildcat.” Another voice in the forest, one coming up from behind Wildcat. The new man is clad in blue and gold, his face concealed under a golden helmet. He is Dr. Fate. “Of course she’s angry, man. She just lost her dad.” Dr. Fate looks in the general direction where young Dinah is as he walks with Wildcat. “Angry… and afraid. She is afraid of so much.” “Yep” replies Wildcat with a little grin. “She’s got her mom’s spitfire spirit and her dad’s bullheaded attitude. When she gets her head straight.. Heaven help whoever looks at her funny.” He says with a chuckle, his tone a joking one. Dr. Fate speaks once more. “The traps have been reset for her once more. I sorely hope you are not doing damage to the child, Wildcat.” And Wildcat stops midstride, speaking with a gentle sigh. “Of course I’m damagin her, Kent. But she was good’n broke on the day of the funeral. Gotta break a thing ta remake it sometimes… the kid’s got heart, more heart’n courage than the both of us. She’s gonna dislike me for a bit, but she knows I love her. An I want nothin more in this world than ta help her.” Dr. Fate says nothing, he just pats Wildcat lightly on the shoulder… and his form simply dissipates into a ploom of dissipating smoke.
There is a small ladder now before her, leading up into a tree. A small platform there in the tree, just a few feet off of the ground. Weakly she pushes herself up onto the platform and turns to face the gravel road before her once more. She closes her eyes and gives herself inspiration…

An image of her father flashes in her mind’s eyes.

Her eyes spring open, and she gets a running start, leaping from the platform…

Not terribly long ago
…. and with a soft grunt she lands in a skid upon the gravel path. She grins as her eyes whip around, her form low with one of her gloved hands resting on the gravel. The soft sound of a click is heard from behind her, and she pivots on her heels. Her gloved hands whip up and she catches the arrow that was coming at her, an annoyed look on her face. She breaks it in half as she pushes herself forward now, sprinting along the path and tossing the broken arrow away. Another couple of clicking sounds from somewhere in front of her in the darkness. 2 arrows come right towards her chest… she leans out of the way of one of them, and bats away the other with an open hand. She spins around quickly, bouncing lightly on her feet, assessing the situation. Feeling like there’s no more traps, she continues on. Gravel is kicked up under her as she takes off in a sudden sprint, her body leaning forward as she pumps her arms.

Something above her… dropping… something big… she can feel the pressure changing slightly, she can hear the rustling of leaves… she can smell the sweat. Dinah drops into a baseball slide, skidding low along the gravel as Wildcat lands where she once was, her form sliding right under him. He spins around and throws a quick jab at her. And by the time it is on its way, she is once more on her feet and in an orthodox boxing stance. She ducks under and to one side of his fist, and he sends his other fist in a straight shot. She leans away from that and sends 2 jabs at his face. They both connect, but he doesn’t flinch or even seems to feel it. Another jab from the larger man, and then his left hook comes around. She lets his jab hit her raised forearm, and then she ducks low as she spins. With a loud yelp she sweeps his feet from under him, and he lands right on his butt. She gets back into her stance, grinning widely as she looks down at him. “Hey!” He shouts as he leans back on his elbows. “That WASN’T boxing ya lil cheat!” She exhales and stops bouncing as she grins wider down to him. “Nope. Gotta be ready for the unexpected, right Uncle Te- AH!” She suddenly finds her own feet swept from under her, Wildcat’s leg sweeping outwards. With a giggle she lands on her side, and just lays there, grinning to him. “Flamin brat, that’s what ya are.” He grumbles as he sits up. She shrugs…and then nods in agreement as she sits up also. He smiles to her from under his mask, rubbing his side absently. “Yer gettin better, birdy. Ya ain’t Justice Society, not yet. But yer on ya way.” She hops to her feet effortlessly, and she holds her hand out to him as she smiles proudly. “School starts in a few days. Ya know I’m ready Uncle Teddy.” He reaches up with a bandaged hand, and she helps him up. She actually has to use both hands to haul him upwards. “No, yer not Dinah. But this is gonna be fun.”

Now
Walking up the path leading to the school is a girl of perhaps 16. She is dressed in denim jeans, a white t-shirt and a dark blue jacket. She carries a duffle bag over her shoulder, her other hand tucked into the pocket of her jacket. She keeps her eyes down on the shoulder of the lane as she moves towards the school. She’s been here before… she knows the layout kind of well. But she doesn’t yet volunteer information or help to anyone. She jogs up the steps towards the front doors, her long blond hair bouncing as she does. Following the signs she enters the auditorium, just as ‘The Old Man On The Road’ by John Fogerty starts to play on the radio. Green eyes scan the mostly empty auditorium (empty for now), and she notices the chairs. With a little shrug she takes a sugar cookie from the snack table… and then takes 4 more, stuffing them into her pockets, and walks towards the chairs. Setting down her duffle bag on the floor next to her, she leans back a little in one of the chairs in the back of the section, munching contently on a sugar cookie. She wonders where everyone is… and if anyone else is going to even come. Be a very weird, but awesome, school if she was solo here..[/hr]

Pamela
For a girl who loved nothing more than to feel the earth under the soles of her feet; the wind in her hair; inhaling the breath of the wild; riding an airplane for the first time was a new yet....unpleasant experience for the few hours she had to be in the air, starting with the fact she had to wear shoes for the duration. Never before had she felt so disconnected from the world even while surrounded by people. This was the first real indication to Pamela that her parents were probably right to live so isolated.

The few worldly possessions she had in her duffel fit in the overhead compartment, and all the pure water and nuts you could want were nice. Pam spent the majority of her flight with her head in Flora of the North American East Coast. Had to know as much about her potential new floral friends as possible before she landed after all.

Upon landing in Gotham and finding her assigned driver, Pamela sat in the backseat and watched the city through the windows. The air was very different. Stifling she would say with all the fumes from the vehicles and industry, and the tar and concrete covering every inch of the ground. It made her hopeful though when the car stopped in traffic long enough for her to spy plants poking through cracks in the sidewalks. So even in this seemingly bad environment, there was hope for plants to push through.

Not used to making small talk even with one other person, Pamela is silent for the duration of the drive from Gotham to this mysterious Argo Academy she'd been invited to attend. She kicks off her old converse sneakers and puts them in her duffel, stretching her toes while peering out the window at the natural landscape that surrounds the Academy. She rolls the window down, and takes off the leather glove on her right hand to reach out with the power she has only started to understand. The forest, from the tree leaves to the grass, reached out in return. Tree branches bent towards her as she passed, and snapped back when far enough away. Pam knew from her home experiments she could do more, but decided it would be best to not do any of it right now. Better to get more familiar with the other people first.

Pamela steps out of the car, and waves after it as it drives away. To look at Pamela Isley, one would think she had stepped from 20 years in the past with her flowery short-sleeve green blouse and brown knee-length skirt with brown elbow-length gloves. She looks up in awe at the whole of the main building front even as she surmounts the steps with her duffel over her shoulder, and still marvels at the interior as she follows the signs to the auditorium. Only when she gets to the auditorium does it occur to her....that she hasn't seen anyone else yet. Now she'd never been to a proper school before, but from what she'd read and been told, there should be more than the one blonde girl present when she arrives.

Well then again, this was supposed to be a very specialized school Pamela thinks as she goes to the snack table, sees nothing she really likes, and awkwardly takes a seat in the same row as, but at the other end from, the blonde girl. She manages a smile, sets her duffel down, and waves at her.

"Um...hello! I'm Pamela. What's your name?"

Gwynn
Wings spread wide, catching the up drift of wind. Riding ocean breezes was relatively easy once you got the hang of it. Gwynn pressed both hands against the back of the wyvern's neck, urging it to fly lower. The beast swooped low, closer to the waves. Its scaly underbelly reflected the blue water in a shimmer of light. Glamour wyverns, crafty creatures that can hide in plain sight. Tough to tame and tougher yet to learn to fly. But Gwynn was a natural. He had never met a wyvern that he had not bonded with. Something about the beautiful creatures enraptured him and they took a similar liking to him. They shared a bond of respect and trust.

"Not too close to the water," called out his uncle. "The Atlantic is cold."

Although it was his first time flying over the sea, Gwynn was well aware of how cold it was. Freezing waters that felt frigid to just be above. Being down there, in the water, would be absolutely terrifying. Gwynn pulled the reins and the wyvern gave a single beat of its wings before pulling back up. Further into the sky.

"How come my farther is not sending me off himself?" Gwynn asked.

"He is busy with his duties as a protector of the crown," his uncle replied. "As the king of our people has seen fit to open relations to the lower realm, your father thought it would be prudent that you gain first hand knowledge of their world."

"Ugh, that sounds all too draining," Gwynn sulked. "Must I really attend this school and pretend to be one of them?"

"No! You must never pretend to be one of them. Never forget who you are, Gwynn. You are a Draig and when you finish your time at this school you will return home."

~~~
Planes came into the airport all the time. Of course they did, that is what airports are for. But the pair of wyverns coming in was all too new. People on the ground below seemed scared. Whereas the airport staff and state government had already been informed. They were expected.
Gwynn swooped in low to the ground before swinging around the tower and landing with a great thud outside of a hanger. His wyvern's clawed feet broke the tarmac. His uncle, on the other,. lead his wyvern into a gentle descent and landed gracefully. Yeah, it seemed so precise and in-control. But Gwynn was happy with his display of speed and daring.
As they dismounted, people stared.
"Gwynn, this is important," his uncle said. "Learn all that you can from your studies. Be sure to keep that dangerous curiosity of yours in check, do not go getting into trouble. You had a bad habit of that back home and I do not want you doing anything of the sort here."
"Fiiine," Gwynn said.
A car rolled up beside them. Pulling to a stop. Gwynnn simply stared. He had never actually seen a car before. His uncle opened the door and ushered him inside, before closing the door and walking back to their wyverns.
"I guess this is it," Gwynn said to himself. "I really am going to Argo Academy."
~~~

He arrived along with most of people. All new students being brought from the airport to the academy. Apparently the city had something of a wild reputation, according to the small talk of Gwynn's driver. He was curious to find out for himself.

Gwynn was beginning to feel a little nauseous. Maybe it was the low altitude? Or maybe it the sheer amount of people. He didn't think there were even this many people on the entire island he came from.

The building was incredible. Different but no less awe inspiring. A grand structure of immense size, with great walls and tall columns. Gwynnn slightly adjusted the strap of his small backpack before climbing the steps. The signs inside were a life saver. The building was like a maze but he, thankfully, found the auditorium easily enough.

What was that smell? Food?! Oh, he had wondered what the food was like in the lower realms. His father had told him of the sweets and cakes and all the delicious things that humans enjoyed despite the rotting it caused within them. Despite the risk, he wanted to try their food. Surely they could not be as terrible as his father made them out to be... Could they?

Gwynn followed his nose to the food. A table serving a variety of different things. He wanted to try them all! But where to start? A simple baked good caught his attention, round and small with icing on top. He had no idea that what he picked up was a sugar cookie. First he sniffed it.Oh, it smelled overly sweet. Then he took a small bite.

"Wow..." he said simply before even swallowing. "I think I could get used to eating this." He took a quick glance around him to see two other people. Potential students? "My apologies, it is all new to me." In case his pointed ears and reptilian eyes did not give it away, Gwynn was not from around here.

Conner Kent/SuperBoy

The flight wasn't all bad. The privet jet that Cadimus sent Conner on was top of the line and flew really well. It always made Conner a bit envious though. He so badly wanted to be able to fly. As he peered out the window, he thought back on the recent events that as now put him on this path he now walks.

A week ago,
Conner was doing his normal training session with the guards of the facility. Today was basic combat which Conner was getting pretty good at honestly. He still relied a lot though on his strength instead of learning to fight properly. After getting tossed around for a while, his favorite doctor, Miss Walter, came into the training room just as Conner was getting thrown to the ground. "Well, that looked to have hurt alot," she smiled down at the boy and he couldn't help but smile back. "Yeah, it's not fun." She offered him a hand to help him stand which he took right away. "Come. I have something to talk to you about that is important." Conner gave her a weird look but followed her anyways.

Miss Walter was the closest thing Conner had to a mother. She was there the whole time he came out of the tube. She helped him to speak and to learn. She was always teaching him something new about the world he now lived in. It took her some time to tell Conner that he was a clone and told him a little about the fact that he was half alien. He never pushed it though. He knew that the doctor would tell him everything eventually. Reaching her office, she gestured for Conner to sit. Not hesitating, Conner pulled the chair up and plopped down in the seat, the doctor, taking a seat at her desk. They starred at one another for a while until the doctor pulled an envelope from her desk and slide it to Conner. Conner took the envelope, opened it, and began to read. After a minute, he looked up at the doctor, "What does this mean?" She smiled, "Well, it seems you are going to school."

Present Day,
The jet landing on the runway brought Conner back to reality. The rest of the week was just preparing for school. Getting a bag packed and going over everything that he was allowed to and not allowed to say about Cadimus. Exiting the plane, Conner found the drive that he was supposed to find. He threw his bags in the trunk and climbed into the back seat. The trip wasn't terrible. He had never seen Gotham before so it was definitely different than Metropolis. It was, darker. Pulling up to the school was different though. The place looked, homie. It was surrounded by a beautiful forest and there was green everywhere. Climbing out of the car, Conner thanked the driver and removed his bag. He stood at the door a moment before taking a deep breath and walking inside.

The letter said to follow the signs. Looking around, Conner spotted the signs that lead him to the auditorium, once inside, it seemed he was not alone or the first one. There looked to be two girls and one other, boy? He wasn't sure yet honestly. The doctor told Conner that he should try and make friends the best he could. With that in mind, Conner took up a seat in the back, away from the others. He looked up at the girls sitting, they were cute. He smiled thinking to himself, "Yeah, be the loner in the back. Good start, Conner."

Anselle.

Near the sugar cookies, and inching towards the just as decadent looking muffins, the young rider would get an enthusiastic - though muffled - agreement. Swallowing the mouthful with with a swig from his cup, the boy's mouth was finally free to speak. "I know, right?!" He all but shouted, eyes snapping wide as a grin split his face. "I'm so used to- like, pumpkin bread an-and-and yam muffins, I didn't even know you could make lemon stuff!" Snatching up one of the top-heavy treats, the boy bit into it, cheeks dimpling with pleasure at the burst of flavor on his tongue.

"Hmm," he groaned, pulling the muffin from his mouth, licking away the dots of poppy seed. Shaking his head, the boy gave a great sigh. "Wow. America, right?"

The boy tilted his head to look down his shirt, faded orange plaid already picking up crumbs, the rest of it fallen to his overalls. "Ah, 'cuse me," he mumbled, brushing away the crumbs with the spare fingers not tasked with holding his cup. After his shirt was presentable, he dusted the rest of the mess onto his pant leg. Sticking out his few fingers to the snake-eyed boy, his smile beamed tremendously.

"Anselle, buddy! Who're you?"

Despite how it looked, Anselle wasn't enjoying a sugar rush, though he did feel oddly tingly, but rather the sum of packing his bags, boarding a plane and discovering a new term he was currently suffering through: jet lag. Simply, Anselle was exhausted, but he'd be drowned before he miss out on something like this.

Uh, whatever this was, anyways. Anselle felt like his mind was still back in Oddsend, stomach somewhere over the Atlantic, and heart still firmly in his shoes; Anselle had nearly fainted when his plane began to experience...turbulence. Not pleasant. Though, it'd been worth it, he decided. He'd come an awfully long way, what was a few more steps?

That's what his letter - no, his invitation said. 'All you need to do is start the journey.' It was terribly foreboding, but this place looked fun. The people looked different, cute, unique. He could almost feel it, the sparks of something in the room, impacting into him in some weird ghostly way and building giddiness in his chest. It fluttered out in a chuckling laugh, ending in a snort.

"I can't wait to get to talk to everyone. I usually only talk to, like, two people!" Eyes peering upward, eyebrows furrowing together, Anselle quirked one in thought. "But I do talk to a lot of my animals, so that makes like..f-fifty three?" Blinking a few times, Anselle seemed to have stumped himself. His head shook, and he snapped back to reality. "Would you like to get to know each other?" I really like your ears!" Anselle said, pointing to the snakey boy's pointed ears.

She had been in New Orleans for quite a while really. It seems a nice place, slow paced, nice people. She had been very fortunate to connect with Clay Markus, known as Amazing Man. She hadn't known at first. She got a job at the soup kitchen he ran and then moved over to his charity to help with the paperwork. At some point, he insisted that she go to school. Fine... She excelled in every subject except history. She learned to play trumpet, a respected instrument in the local bands around town.

She had a bed in one of the Charity's boarding houses and did her best to earn her keep and all. Occasionally buying herself small luxuries, like a walkman and a few cassette tapes.

The day came and she made her goodbyes. Her explanation to her new friends was that she had won a scholarship to a new school thanks to Marcus Clay.

It was exciting to get on an earth plane. She enjoyed the trip very much. It was colder here in this Gotham place. It seemed very gray and dreary. It was easy to dind the car that was sent for her. There was a man in a dark suit with a cap holding a sign with her name on it.

The school seemed very large and.. Mansiony for lack of a better word. There were quite s few trees and greenery on the property though.

As she went through the maze within the school mansion, she kept hearing the words.. "" We know exactly what you are ""
Over and over in her head. She didn't want to be what she was. This was a large part of why she was here on earth in the first place.

She made her way into the auditorium, managed a smile & a little wave before sitting in the middle of the 30 seats.

Emiko Queen / Red Arrow

I hate flying.

Flipping through the pages of her magazine, Emiko tried to ignore the rumble of the plane as it soared through the skies. She had flown once before, but the idea of being stuck in a metal tube thousands of feet in the air was highly unsettling, and the young archer found herself uncomfortable in her seat. Shifting around, Emiko closed her reading material and shut her eyes, hoping to get some sleep in before she landed. Her thoughts wandered to her brother, Oliver, as well as the friends she had made in the past two years in Starling City. She wondered what they were up to, and hoped they were okay. As the loud rumble of aircraft dulled to a low hum, Emiko Queen started to drift to sleep. She was off to a new experience, with new people, and most likely new dangers. She could only imagine what could happen.

When Emiko landed, she picked up her backpack and the weapons case containing her bow and quiver. After meeting with her driver, she slung her things into the trunk and slid into the back seat of the car. The ride wasn’t incredibly long, but Emiko took the time she had to admire the city as they passed through. It was a legendary city, home to infamous heroes and villains alike. As a child, she had often heard stories of the things that took place in Gotham. She wondered how many were true.

Pulling up to the entrance of her new school, Emiko was pleasantly surprised. The lush trees and grass were quite different from the city they had just passed through. The air was fresh, and Emiko could feel herself liking the school grounds already. After thanking her driver and removing her bags from the trunk, the raven haired teen climbed the steps towards the main entrance and passed through the doors. Looking around, she could hear the echo of voices. Perhaps that was where everyone was. Slipping around the hall and into the auditorium, Emiko took in the others in the room. When her eyes passed over Gwynn, she stopped. Was she in the right place? What was he? She? It? Emiko wasn’t sure what to make of it. Looking over at the rest of the young members that were seated, Emiko noticed a young man sitting in the back. He was good looking, objectively. Noticing how he seemed to not interact with the rest of the group, the young archer slipped around the seats and sat down next to him. Reaching into her bag, she opened a pack of seaweed she had bought before she left Starling City. Taking one out for herself, she extended the open pack towards the young man.

“Seaweed?”

Another small bite from the sugar cookie she took, her eyes now on the large banner above the stage. Welcome the ‘leaders of tomorrow’. The phrase makes her smirk a little to herself. She doesn’t know exactly what being a leader entails… sure she’s heard the word before, sure she knows what the encyclopedia would say… but she doesn’t know what it could entail. She doesn’t think she’s anything even resembling a leader. She’s just the girl that always seems to be looking to punch someone’s lights out. She wonders if any of the kids that are going to be here would call themselves the ‘leader’ of this particular pack. There’s a lot of chairs though… how big is this class supposed to be?

Pamela is the next to enter, and Dinah’s eyes follow the redhead. A ton of judgement in her eyes. She just stares at the girl as she moves to the same row that she is already in… and when Pamela introduces herself, Dinah just takes another bite of her sugar cookie, finishing it off. She says nothing for the few moments then, just chewing up the cookie. And then finally… in a tone just slightly less excited than Pamela’s seems to be.

“Dinah.”

And then her head tilts up a little, as if to silently say ‘what’s up?’. Yeah, Dinah is the vision of cool. Like sub-zero, man.

More motion now gets the blond’s attention, and she looks towards the snack table again. Now she sits up in her chair a little, eyeing Gwynn. The kid looks weird… really weird. He’s probably Swedish. She looks towards Pamela and motions to Gwynn, and then looks back to Gwynn. “Yeah, they’re just plain cookies. They don’t have ‘em in Sweden?”

Wow.

She probably should have done more investigating or something before assuming Gwynn was Swedish. Frankly, who knows why she even thinks ‘Swedish’. Just one of those random thoughts that pops into her brain sometimes. Like why do donuts have holes? What made someone put a hole in the middle of a lil cake? Isn’t the little cake good enough, it doesn’t need a whole as a gimmick? If they wanted littler cakes (donut holes) then why not just make those? Instead of making the donuts… putting a hole in ‘em and then eating the punched out part of the donut too.

Welcome to Dinah’s brain, everyone.

A small smirk forms on her lips as now she observes Ansell making himself known. Huh… he’s a bulky fella, huh? But she wouldn’t say he’s ‘fat’, really. No she recognizes fat. Obese, what have you. Her smirk draws into a grin with Ansell’s… enthusiasm… and she looks down a little. He’s cute. Not in a… hey let’s go see a show cute… more of a… oh my goodness that puppy has the biggest eyes!

Speaking of ‘hey let’s go see a show’ cute, she now looks towards Conner out of the corner of her eyes. Just for a moment she watches him, before she shrugs slightly to herself and looks towards the chair in front of her. She reaches up and pulls the headphones resting on the back of her neck over her ears, tucking a few strands of her long blond hair behind her ears.

She was the first one here, but now lots of people seem to be piling in. Megan moves to sit in the middle of the set up chairs, seeming to be minding her own. Emiko sits next to Conner… and that prompts Dinah to now push herself to her feet. She glances to the duffle bag set on the floor next to her chair, deciding that no one would be dumb enough to try and take off with it. Tucking her hands into the pockets of her jacket, she moves now behind the chairs and casually strides along the row. Turning once more, she stands just outside of the set up chairs, half open eyes looking from one to the other. She looks towards Megan (she is standing almost midway between Megan and Pamela), and comments almost offhandedly in a soft tone. “So these’re the leaders of tomorrow, huh?” Her tone of someone.. not so impressed… by what is before her. A lot of people… she just wonders exactly what the real plan is here… but she also keeps her thoughts to those before her, trying to get a feel as to what she is getting herself into. And whether or not this was really a good idea. All of the girls are way prettier than her, and probably have an easier time making friends. Most of the ‘friends’ she has involves some kind of kicking or punching or stabbing. And those are just the people that like her!

And as the new students gather, behind the closed curtain there is slight movement. A few of the adults behind said curtain quietly observing the students, evaluating them all in this first subtle test of them…

"Dinah, nice to meet you I'm.....Pamela." Pam introduces herself, but gets the distinct impression the others are far more interesting to this Dinah the way she looks around and talks to them. Even looks to focus on the statuesque boy who sits alone for a time until an Asian girl arrives and sits next to him. Something which prompts Dinah to standup, Pamela can't help but notice. Just as she can't help but notice the Asian girl offers the boy seaweed as a kind of snack. She'd heard from her mother that seaweed was one of the many kinds of plants that were edible to humans(at least some kinds) but hadn't had a chance to try it. She would like to, though. In case the other girl were to actually eat a piece in all that was going on, Pamela whispers very quietly to herself "Blessed be this green bounty."

The boy who had the odd reaction to the cookies and other sweets. Pam can sense something very different about him besides his appearance. The newspapers and radio had told of strange-looking beings popping up lately, so Pam assumes this boy must be one of them. The other boy who talks to him seems a normal, jovial kind of guy that makes Pam smile just from his tone and manner.

Hearing Dinah's unimpressed comment on 'future leaders' snaps Pam out of her silent observation of the others. She kind of retreats in on herself, unsure. She certainly never thought of herself as a 'leader' type for all she'd heard of what that entailed. Her father never seemed to have a high opinion of todays leaders whenever the subject came up on their home radio; especially the guy he always called Mr. President very derisively every time.

She seems...not very groovy as Mom would say Pam thinks of Dinah perhaps unfairly, but she thinks it nonetheless. The girl pretends like she didn't hear Dinah and sits in her chair fiddling with a loose strand of her hair, eyes forward and waiting for this assembly to begin or someone else to try and talk to her.

Harley Quinn
Featuring Camleen as Batman

A Month Ago…

“Puddin! Puddin’ I’m right here! I’m…..I’m…” The young girl calls out into the factory while clawing at the hand and arm holding her by the ruffled collar of her costume. “Leggo of me ya creep!” She yells at the man in goggles as her nails fail to puncture the heavy leather and kevlar of his costume. Overhead, the cackles of a madman and the grunts of his pursuer steadily get quieter and quieter...and the girl slowly loses her fight as she looks up and around. “Mistah J? You’re….you’re comin’ back right?”

“I’m afraid he’s not coming back, dear.” The old man in goggles says to her without looking away “Your...Puddin’ as you call him, doesn’t seem to share the same sentiment for you.”

“No...no that can’t be true...no he’s just...putting that Bat freak on ice...then he’ll come back for me.” Harley rationalizes looking up out of the nearest window. Gotham City was awash in moonlight. If the man known as Doctor Mid-Nite been able to truly see, he’d see tears forming at the corner of her eyes by the moonlight. All he could see with his infrared vision was a young girl in a costume that was too thin to keep out the cold.

“Poor girl.” Doctor Mid-Nite sighs and shakes his head. “That...deranged young man...has truly done something terrible to you if you think he’ll evade that other young man only to risk capture by me.”

Harley is about to say something, but overhead there’s the sound of someone swinging through an open window. Her eyes go wide, look up “Puddin!”

“No, I’m afraid that’s the other one.” Doctor Mid-Nite says looking up and seeing through the darkness in a way she can’t. “Batman, was it?”

For 3 months he has been tracking down the twisted duo of criminals, the clowns. The Joker and his lieutenant Harley Quinn. An unwitting lieutenant, but one nonetheless. Joker seems to be a master manipulator, making other people feel they have far more power than they do. While it serves him, of course. And once that usefulness ebbs, they are cut loose. At least that’s how he sees things.

While one of them has gotten clean away… again… the other isn’t as resourceful. For now he allowed the Joker to get some distance, knowing there was a slim chance of actually catching him tonight. But that’s okay, he knows where the Joker is hanging his hat. He’ll wait for the moment. And so he circles around, moving as silent as the shadows he calls home. From building to building he bounds, his form moving like liquid black in this darkness. He moves back to the warehouse the Joker had first fled from, and he crouches low on a thick windowsill. His eyes narrow behind his mask as he stares down at the only two left here. Quinn and… Doctor Mid-Nite… there were rumors the Society was working outside of Gotham… maybe this confirms that rumor.

And he doesn’t like it.

Harley looks in his direction thinking she’ll see her savior. Her ‘puddin’. He drops down from the windowsill, landing in a low crouch near some old crates. His form remains obscured amongst the dark of the warehouse. Mid-Nite calls out to him, and he waits a few moments. Just in front of Harley there is a soft metallic clacking sound. The sound of handcuffs that were tossed from the shadows. His voice comes forth in a low, gravelly tone.. almost seeming to come from different areas around them. “Put those on, Quinn. You and your boss are done here.”

“Afraid this is the end of the line, Miss Quinn.” Mid-Nite says setting the girl down on her feet. She looks at the cuffs and into the darkness.

“W-whaddya mean...done?” She asks clutching at her ruffle collar. She shakes her head and falls to her knees “No...no...I can’t go back into the system!” She pleads with the darkness “You don’t know what they do to kids like me!”

He seems to just materialize from the shadows, his form still concealed under his cape. A scowl upon his lips, his white blank eyes staring at Harley. He stops about 10 feet from them both, his cape swaying forward slightly as he does so. From Harley he slowly looks to Mid-Nite.. one of the so called Justice Society. A bunch of people with aspirations of a better world, all of whom have probably never seen the underbelly of society. Or been exposed to children starving on the streets, as he sees almost every night here in Gotham.
And his costume sucks.
“You made bad choices, girl.” He speaks once more in that same low tone, there almost seeming to be an edge of anger to it. His eyes slowly draw back to Quinn as he continues. “And now you’re going to face the consequences of those choices. Now put those on. You don’t want me to do it for you. I promise.” With that last word he narrows his eyes at her.

“Now listen here, kid.” Mid-Nite steps in front of the shadowy vigilante. His goggled eyes don’t look directly into the whites of Batman’s but still at him. “No need to get rough with the girl. She is, in my medical estimation, not in possession of her full faculties.” He looks back at her, then to him again. “Rest assured, I’ll take her from here. You do..whatever it is you have to do.”

As soon as Mid-Nite starts to move, Batman is reaching into one of the pouches at his waist under the cape. He half expects the other man to do something dumb, to try and fight for the criminal. To try and stop him physically.
His eyes now narrow towards Mid-Nite and he takes a few bold steps closer to him as his voice comes forth. “She doesn’t have her full faculties. So I’m taking her to Arkham to rot for what she and the other one has been doing. THAT is what I have to do, Mid-Nite.” Now it’s Batman that’s ready to throw a punch, to take down Mid-Nite for stepping between him and his goal. To try and stop him from doing what he has to.
But… he relents. If Mid-Nite were anyone else, they would be on the ground with a broken arm at this point. While he doesn’t like it, he knows the Doctor’s reputation… and the company he keeps. A quick glance in Harley’s direction… and then… “Fine.”
A small step back is taken as he continues, looking to Mid-Nite. “You keep her out of Gotham City, you keep her off the streets.” He glances again towards Harley “I’ll be watching her. I’ll always know where she is and what she’s doing. Step out of line, and she’s going down. Same as you.” He looks back towards Mid-Nite as he now turns, and he starts to move away in a smooth motion, his cape now flowing in rhythm to his stride. “You and your Justice Society club or whatever you are… get out of my city.”

Mid-Nite nods at Batman “Understood.”

Harley had been beside herself with confusion at what was going on this whole time, looking at either Mid-Nite or Batman or the cuffs on the ground. “What’s gonna happen to me?” She asks Mid-Nite, the one that seems to be, at least for the moment, advocating for her.

“You are going to leave that ridiculous hat, and the hammer, and come with me.” Mid-Nite tells her while kicking the cuffs back at Batman.

“Why?” She asks watching the cuffs slide over but refraining from looking up at Batman.

“Because, Miss Quinn, you….youngsters…” He says in a forced manner as he admits to himself he is an old man under the costume “..you need to learn that not only is there justice to be had outside the structures society has built, but also healing and redemption.” He reaches out and puts a comforting hand on her shoulder, beckoning her to follow him as he starts to walk away slowly out of the warehouse. Harley looks at the hammer on the floor, and the Harlequin hat that had fallen from her head in the melee from before, and walks after Doctor Mid-Nite. The only sound in the night is the small jingle of the bells on her shoes.

Present Day

Behind the curtain, an argument is being had in whispers while the others chat.

"Just go out there, Harley." says the voice of Doctor Mid-Nite.

"What if I mess it up Doc?" Harley asks.

"Even if you do, first impressions can be mended." Doctor Mid-Nite assures her. "Just go out there, and be yourself."

"Um...less your usual self." says a third voice.

"Hey what's that supposed to mean?" Harley asks indignantly.

"Don't mind that Harley. Just go out there, and let yourself out."

"Okay." Harley takes a breath and steps toward the curtain. "Here. I. Go."

The curtain parts suddenly in a lull in the conversations going on. Harley comes tumbling out between them. She rolls on the smooth stage floor until coming to sit at the edge with her legs crossed and arms out to catch herself before falling off. At five feet tall she is easily the shortest of them all, but even with Gwynn's eyes and ears, also the strangest-looking of the kids with her stark white skin that almost blends with the white button-up shirt she wears. She also wears a black and red plaid skirt, red and white sneakers, black lipstick and her blonde hair done up in pigtails with red ribbons.

"Hiya everybody! Harley Quinn, nice to meetcha!" She says to everyone in general with arms out. Her Jersey accent is very thick, and keen eyes would see the girl has tattooes on her forearms: The right has a red spade, club, diamond and heart all in a ring; the left has the same in black. "Welcome....to Argo Academy!" She hops down to the floor and keeps beaming at everyone "Mi casa es su casa!" She exclaims. Outwardly, she's smiling like she doesn't care she looks like a maniac. Inwardly, she's lucid enough to realize but doesn't know what to do but go with it and hope she didn't just freak people out.

Gwynn

This person was... Interesting. Vastly different to what he expected. Gwynn had been expecting sophistication, lots of technology, and maybe a small obsession with war and weapons and explosions. Okay, maybe he was stereotyping. But the humans of the lower realm had a track record of blowing things up when they do not like them. This person was nothing like he had been told to expect. He seemed kind and genuine. And not at all a blood thirsty warrior...

Gwynn found himself blushing and confused, reaching up to gently touch the tip of his ears. His eyes gazed at the floor nervously.

"Y-Yeah, they are really good for... For hearing..." How was he supposed to talk to this person? What did humans talk about? "We can hear higher frequencies that most humans can not pick up on. And we can hear from much further away, pick up the quietest sounds. Makes us really good at hunting." He smiled. "I am Gwynn, of house Llfyr. I am only really friends with the princess and the wyverns on our island."

Gwynn did not dare to count how many wyverns he had bonded with. They bred fast and lived short lives. He had grown to love hundreds of them over the years. Did wyverns count as friends? They were more like family. Extended family.

"I guess you have more friends than me. But I would still like to get to know each other."

His hand went from his pointy ears to his brown hair, tied back. He pull the tail over his shoulder and gently played with it, twirling it. Letting his hair go when someone else tried talking to him. He glanced over at the girl talking to him, about the cookies. So what he was eating was a cookie. He had to get more. "I-I've never been to Sweden," he replied to the girl. "But my family has roots there." You know, roots. Dragon slayers, war, persecution... Roots.

Gwynn was a little confused. Did he look like someone from Sweden? His sharp ears had overheard her introduce herself as Dinah. Did Dinah know about the Draig's ancient history in Scandinavia? No matter, she was already putting some strange objects over her ears and listening to the strange sounds they were making. Everyone here was so odd.

Odder yet was the girl who rolled out. She was so different to anything he had ever seen. Her skin had red and black markings, her lips were black, and she had skin as pale as fresh fallen snow on a cold winter morning. She was simultaneously beautiful and foreboding. And very noisy. As she started speaking Gwyn whirled around to see what the cacophony of noise was. It was just one tiny girl making so much noise. Distracting him from everything, he could not hear the others talking over this Harley Quinn.

Is she a student or part of the presentation?

Conner Kent

More and more kids started to come into the gym. Conner sat back and just watched them all at first. Then all of a sudden, this one girl who enter started to move towards him. All the empty spots in this gym and she is walking towards him and takes up the chair next to him. Conner stayed still. Maybe if he didn't say anything then she would move or not speak either. Of course, that wasn't the case. The girl extended a bag to him and all she said was, "Seaweed?" Conner looked down at the bag and it was, of course, a bag of seaweed. He knew what seaweed was but he had never thought of eating it. He looked the girl in the eyes for a moment. She had a, intenseness to them that he couldn't really explain. Figuring he should be nice, he took a piece and ate, "Thanks." Then, it was back to silence for the two of them.

Not long after that, it had seemed like no one else was showing up for the moment. A few of the kids began to talk and mingle, while a few of the others still sat to themselves. Then, all of a sudden, another girl came out from behind the stage. Conner thought to himself a moment, "did he get the wrong invite or was this just all girls almost?" he was pretty certain the thing with the pointy ears was a male but was uncertain.

The girl that came from behind the stage introduced herself as Harley Quinn. Then something about welcome to Argo. She was very uncomfortable. Conner had to keep an open mind though about the place. Dr. Walter said that this would be a great time to try and make friends. He looked back at the girl next to him and sighed, "My name is Conner Kent."

Anselle's head gave a curious tilt as the snakey boy finally spoke up, though his face had started to burn bright. He had that effect on people. Aw, Anselle thought, he's such a sweetheart!

Anselle's smile broke into view, tongue pressing to the gap between them, a bubbly chuckling in his throat as just smiled and listen to what the oh so proper Gwynn had to say. As the rider spoke, he might've noticed the slow dawn of amazement on Anselle's face at the purpose behind his ears. "Now, how 'bout that?" He muttered, looking from the boy's face to his ears again, a furrow coming to his brow. "You mean, you have powers, too!?" Anselle gaped, eyes going wide at Gwynn. The boy had made a strong separation between himself and humans, and the last time he checked, most people still used dogs for hearing on hunts.

Anselle giggled anew, setting his muffin and cup on the table beside him to point accusingly at Gwynn. "You do, don't you! You're different, too!" Anselle all but shouted, exuberant and finally getting why the place felt so funny. Still, he couldn't believe everyone was different.

But what was this about plain cookies? "Whaaat?" Anselle drawled, turning his head to a girl with hair like cornsilk - wait, no, blonde. That's what they called them here. Anselle's mouth dropped at the girl, looking back to the table in a stunned silence. "This is what plain tastes like here?" Was he whimpering? "I always thought wheat was plain."

Hey, powers.

"Oh, right!" Anselle bonked his palm to his forehead, shaking away what felt very much like happy tears and walking straight for the blonde and, oh, another one. Well, not another blonde, rather red, actually. He just had to know he and Gwynn weren't the only ones.

"Hi!" He said, obviously excited, hands pressing together as his eyes roamed the two girls, looking at their ears - and being sorely disappointed. Okay, so no cool ears, but maybe- "Anselle. Powers, you two got 'em?"

There was no way it was just him and Gwynn, right? But- a whole crowd of people that were different? Anselle couldn't wrap his head around that. The place wasn't even full yet and it already looked like it had more people in the room than his whole town. Yet-

The blonde had something to her. Anselle couldn't quite place it, but there was an immediate guard to her. It was in her brows, in the hold of her eyes. She was strong, strong enough to push back. She repelled and Anselle felt himself creeping back, despite his initial eagerness.

He lingered for the one with the more catching hair. She seemed - huh, what was with her? Anselle cocked a brow at the redhead for a moment, his smile pulling his lips and like that, the curious look was gone. There was something up with the redhead. Anselle didn't know what, but gosh, he wanted to find out.

And so came the spectacle on stage, one eye=grabbing Harley Quinn introducing herself to the whole of the crowd, what scattered bits had actually sat down. Anselle stared in...awe of her, pointing at her and nodding furiously. "Okay, she's so different. So different."

Barry

When he was 10, Barry watched his parents die. Killed by some sort of yello blur. He personally saved by a red blur.

Much of his life the next couple of years was a blur too. He was adapted into his Dad's best friends family. Joe West was a good man. This family brought him back to life really. Made life and happiness a real thing for him.

Barry had though, a need deep inside to clear his father's name and find out what happened to his mom and dad that night.
Barry became the kid who followed Joe West's example to achieve by working hard. His only real fault was that in that part of his life.. he worked to hard. He took no time for fun.

Some time later, high school freshman Barry was in town visiting the museum of science. Not far away there was a powerful explosion. Buildings shook, people fell over, but no one seemed to be hurt. All at once, the freshman was running like mad..crazy fast. This brought him to the attention of Jay Garrick... THE FLASH!

Now, Joe West and his family brought Barry bsck to life and humanity. They taught him pride& humility. Achievement through perseverance. Jay Garrick taught him to enjoy life.. To enjoy being a Flash. .

It was determined by both Joe West and Jay Garrick that the local high school did not have enough to offer Barry. But Doctor Fate & Doctor Midnight had a plan...... Argos.

Jay went on the airplane flight with Barry all the way from Central city to Gotham. Jay had sent Barry's stuff ahead to the new school. Jay Garrick didn't have to work hard to get Barry to follow him to the mansion where the new Academy was. They even ran around the grounds several times.

Finally, Jay got word from his comrades to bring Barry in.

( Jay) " Barry, it's time to get inside"
(Barry) " Jay.. I know this is important to you.. And Doc Fate.. But.. I.. Well..
(Jay) "I know Barry.. I am so very Proud of you. You have worked hard & learned alot. But this place will be the real deal, You'll see. "

Barry hugged his mentor tight, his emotions wildly mixed.

(Jay)"It's okay kid! You know I will never be that far away. Plus, you will be with young people more like you than Fred Q Public. "

(Barry) " I figured out, it was you who saved me.. When I was a kid. I promise you, I will make you and Joe & the family proud"

(Jay) "Come on {With an infectious joyous attitude that seemed to immediately brighten the youngster} I'll race you to the doors!!!"

With that, they raced to the main school building. When Barry stopped, Jay wasn't there. There was a small duffle bag with a few things Jay and the West family got him for going away gifts. Among the things were the two simple things from Jay Garrick, the Flash. A brand new pair of goggles with an image of Jay's mercury style cap etched into them and a baseball cap with a little wing on each side.
Barry took a moment to smile and look at all of the things, wiping away a tear or two before heading in.

Nearby, Jay watched his protege.
"I am already proud of you Kid!"
With that Jay Garrick was gone.

Barry quickly zipped through the maze of signs to the auditorium. There he saw the other kids gathered. For a bit, he moved between the doorway and the snack table really quickly, grabbing snacks off the table & gobbling them down.

He was certain no one noticed while he filled up with snacks and water. He meanwhile looked the others over. Interesting group he thought to himself. Then there was Harley....Heck of an opening act right ? He was suddenly sitting in the front row watching her with a fresh plate of treats.

"Pleased to make your acquaintance Miss Harley! I'm Barry!"

So with Harley's help, the swirling emotional turmoil in Barry's brain was now replaced with excitement!.

Megan Morse

Megan was nervous to be honest. When she sat down it was a mix of being in the middle of everyone, but not be close to anyone. She worked very hard to bottle up her telepathy.

Still she could read some people's body language. The dark haired boy in the corner seemed a bit like herself. The pretty blonde girl seems to be trying to assert herself, to impress while not trying. Too cool for school. There is another red haired girl who starts to talk until assertive blond stands and talks.

There are two boys standing by the snack table. One seems to have that adorable energy and excitement true of children at amusement parks. The other boy, who doesnt look entirely human, just barely manages to avoid deer in headlights.

A dark haired girl seems to stalk into the room as if hunting. She spots her prey, the dark haired boy and makes a beeline to him. Then there is Harley.. Even with her mind closed, there is a maelstrom of mental energy from that one. Then a blond boy who seemed to appear out of no where.

She decided she liked these people! However, just at that moment, she could not quite bring herself to tell any of them.

{" We know exactly what you are"}

Dr. Fate's words, while not unfriendly, dashed through her mind dampening her spirit a bit. Just a little bit though... Just a little bit. She allowed herself to be brightened and buoyed by Ansell's & Harley's exceptional energies!

Emiko Queen / Red Arrow

It seemed like everyone had arrived. It wasn’t a large group, but everyone did seem to be quite unique. All eyes were drawn to the front of the auditorium when Harley Quinn introduced herself. Emiko studied the energetic girls face, unsure of what to make of her. Her body art reminded her of playing cards, and her energy and excitement held a stark difference from Emiko’s calm and more subdued personality. What had she called this place? Argo Academy? Emiko had never heard of it before, and her eyes darted around the room, watching the other students reactions. When the young man seated beside her introduced himself, the Queen girl nodded, acknowledging his introduction while she continued to look around the room.

“I’m Emiko,” she paused. “And this is Scarlet,” she continued, tapping the heel of her shoe on the crimson weapon case partially tucked underneath her seat. Apart from the color it was rather plain looking in design, but inside it held Emiko’s pride and joy; her bow and quiver.

A voice spoke up from the crowd. It was one of the last members to arrive, and the first one to reply to Harley Quinn’s introduction. His name was Barry, and he seemed a little too excited. It was almost unsettling. Maybe it was just nerves, the girl thought to herself. Looking back towards the stage, Emiko realized how nerve wracking it must be to be up there on stage while everyone stared at you and made silent judgements and comments under their breath. Perhaps this Barry kid was just trying to relieve the awkward tension. Emiko understood the situation the pale girl on stage was going through. She had no problem talking 1-on-1, but like many was no good with lots of eyes on her. Feeling sympathetic for Harley, Emiko stood up out of her chair to introduce herself in response, immediately regretting it the moment eyes started to turn towards her.

Goddamnit. Why do I do this type of stuff?

“Uhm...hey uh, Harley. Barry. Corey? Conan? No, wait. Conner. Right..uhm.” She waved awkwardly, “The rest of you guys. I’m E-Emiko. Queen. Emiko Queen. Right, that’s me.” She swung her arms back and forth in front of her, unsure of what else to say as the awkward silence ate away at her. She could already feel her ears starting to burn and her face becoming flushed.

“Alright! Cool!” She yelled a bit too loudly, considering they were in an auditorium where everything echoed. “I’m just gonna take my seat..cause i’m done. Cool,” she repeated, plopping into her seat in a hurry. Her face was beet red, and she stared at the floor with fiery intensity, hoping the earth would open up and swallow her whole to save her from the embarrassment.

A soft chuckle behind the curtain, though none of the new arrivals would be able to hear it. “Well.. Harley does have a way of breaking the ice.” Someone peeks out from the edge of the curtain, being careful to not be seen. He then speaks as the curtain closes “Well, time to get this underway, I suppose.” And then another voice. “Hold on.. would ya look at that?” The small group behind the curtain pauses, listening. Listening as now their students begin to introduce themselves. “Well this won’t be as difficult a task as we feared, gentlemen.” They now fall silent for the moment, just listening.

The young blond looks towards the stage as Harley makes herself known, her eyebrows both raising. Someone was here before she was? Why didn’t she know that? She had thought she’d kind of be the sort of head honcho, the one that the Justice Society would want to be in charge. She’s no leader, but that was the impression she got. But if Harley is here… and she didn’t know about her… maybe Harley is supposed to fill that role?
Why does this bother her so? It doesn’t even matter, it’s just her and her huge ego. Which she’s really trying to get under control…

Despite that, Dinah finds herself grinning a little at Harley. She seems so confident, so assured of herself. Like there’s no hesitation on her part. That’s something to admire.

When Ansell rolls up on them, she holds her hands up in a ‘whooooah’ motion, still grinning a little. She looks towards Pamela when Ansell does, and then she speaks in a light tone to Ansell. “Ah my main power is kickin people’s teeth in. So that’ll prolly be my job here.” She says with a confident nod. Wishing she was actually as confident as she tries to make herself sound. She doesn’t volunteer her name yet, nor her meta-ability.

Maybe she’s about to, but that’s when something catches her attention. Something moving? But she doesn’t see anything. She looks in the direction of the snack table, as if looking for something there. She can almost detect Barry moving at his rediculous speed, she can percieve movement there. But she isn’t sharp enough to actually realize who, or what, it is. But when Barry seems to just ‘appear’ in the front row, her gaze snaps to him. Whoah.. is he like Jay? Who is one of her favorite people, actually. If Barry is some kind of fast runner like Jay, then that would certainly go a ways to explain what she had almost caught onto beforehand.

Dinah looks towards Pam out of the corner of her eyes, and she nudges the girl with her elbow. “I think this is gonna be funzone, Pammy.” She says with a nod. Emiko’s voice would then catch her attention, just as she is standing. Emiko would name off each person that had introduced themselves so far for the most part, and with each name Dinah’s eyes look towards that person. Pamela Conner Ansel Harley Barry Emiko. Got it. The non-Pamela redhead is still quiet… but she’ll probably ease into all of this soon. So now she takes a step forward, and she points to each person in turn as she names them, as if she were continuing some kind of name game. “Pam” motioning to Pamela with her thumb first, and then the others. “Conner, Ansel, Harley, Barry and Emiko. And I’m Dinah Lance, and so far I’m happy to be here with all of you.” She says with a nod and a thumbs up.

Pamela Isley
A few things happen in rather quick succession. First the boy named Ansell came up to her and Dinah, introduced himself, and asked if they had powers very casually like asking about one's shoes. Dinah gives hers as essentially being a fighter. Pam was thinking about how to phrase and maybe demonstrate her power, when she was interuppted and distracted by the arrival of a small girl who introduced herself as Harley Quinn. Everything about the girl from her choice of makeup and her wardrobe gave Pamela pause. Certainly someone far more comfortable with her body than Pamela herself, what with the skirt and tattoos, and more extroverted. The sudden appearance of Barry startled her, as she was very certain the boy hadn't been there before. Nonetheless the energy put out by Harley makes the redhead smile, unfurl from herself. Everyone else was taking introductions on a one-to-one, maybe one-to-two basis so far in Ansell's case. It made Pam think maybe she should do that.

Before she could though, the girl next to the other boy acted first. The way Emiko handled it, albeit awkwardly towards the end, emboldened Pamela even more. It had to be less awkward for her to do the same, right?

Then Dinah, inexplicably in her opinion, called her Pammy. Like they were already friends somehow. That made Pam stand up when her name was said and wave around at everyone. When she looked at Emiko again, it gave her an idea.

"I do have a power. But let me show what it is." She says to Ansell and climbs over the chairs to walk over to Emiko and Connor.

"Hello Emiko, Connor. May I have some seaweed? Just a little bit." Pam asks, and when given a piece says "Thank you very much." She stands at the back of the chairs, opposite Harley at the front holding the seaweed between her hands, presenting it to everyone. A giddy, nervous smile is spread over face.

"Hi...name's Pam...and this is my power." She focuses on the seaweed in front of her, breathes over it ,and taps into The Green to give it new life, then do more. This makes Pam's eyes change; her whites turn black, and her irises turn an iridescent green. The seaweed first gets its living sheen back. Then Pam makes it stretch as she pulls it apart to match her arm span. Others wouldn't notice it also gets thicker, they would be probably be too focused on her eyes reverting to normal. She lets one side go and holds it in her left hand as she twirls it in the air like a big green ribbon. A somewhat interesting maybe pretty display. Then suddenly Pam whips it against the floor, and the seaweed actually cracks like a whip. The girl giggles and wraps it around her neck like a scarf.

"Cool, huh?" She asks with a hopeful smile.

Harley Quinn

"Hi Barry!" Harley waves at the boy, unfazed by the fact he wasn't there one second and was the next. At least others acknowledge he's also real. That's always a relief in her life. When Ansell points at her and makes a point to say she is 'so different' Harley has a mind to say something just as blunt about his shape. Without her meds, she would have said it and maybe hurt his feelings. Being medicated though, what comes out is Harley pointing back at him and saying through a grin "And you are adorable."

She keeps her grin through Emiko's awkward introduction, and Dinah's more confident one. Each time makes her feel less weird, and her happiness is expressed in the whimsical way she rocks back and forth on her heels.

When Pam takes the opportunity to make her own intro to everyone, Harley watches intently. She utters a "Oooh" seeing Pam's eyes change; a "Wow!" when she stretches that tiny piece of seaweed like a big piece of taffy, and finally gives a bout of laughter and clapping when it's shown she made it into a whip as well as a fashion accessory. "That was pretty freakin' rad, Red!" She exclaims. Her eyes then take notice of an outlier to the group; the other redhead. The one who hasn't introduced herself.

Well that just would not do.

Harley trots over to the row and chair directly in front of the silent girl. She sits backwards on her knees in that chair and smiles at her.

"Hiya! You got a name or you want we should call you Wallflower?"

Gwynn
Interaction: Everyone?
"I've got powers, yeah," Gwynn declared, maybe a little too excitedly. "A whole bunch. Well, some of them have not developed yet. Not only are my ears really good, but my eyes are too. I can see in the dark and see heat patterns. Got pretty good sense of smell too." He cutely tapped his nose with a broad smile. "Aaand my bones are hollow so they're really light but I have to be careful because they can break easily. But that's okay because my muscles are really strong, stronger than humans, so I do not have to worry too much about my bones. Also, my skin can turn to scales and those protect me even more. Especially with fire. I can not burn." He was quite proud of being immune to fire. As far as Gwynn was aware, fire was a big deal to humans and their evolution. "When I get older my scales will change colour and I will be able to breathe fire!"

Gwynn was far too excited. Well that should certainly save time on introductions. Especially since he had been loud enough for everyone to hear.

"I don't like the cold, though," he muttered softly and shyly.

The one girl began naming people off like some kind of list. Apparently humans like lists. Or did not like but used them for a lot of different things? Or was that queues? Gwynn did not know for sure. Connor in the corner. Ansel who Gwynn had already met. Harley, the girl from the stage. Barry. When had he arrived? Gwynn had heard him but not seen him until he was just there. There was Emiko and she was queen of some kingdom, she did not say what kingdom though. And the girl reading everyone off her list introduced herself as Dinah Lance. She seemed happy to be here with everyone... So far?

Gwynn waved to them all and said softly, "hi".

He stopped to marvel at the girl manipulating the plant. Her name was Pamela. Of course Gwynn had no idea what seaweed was and that plants grew underwater. The water was far too cold and he had never even been swimming. In fact, the closest he had ever gotten to the sea was flying over it on the way to here.

Conner Kent

Conner watched on as all the kids started to introduce themselves. The one girl, Pamela, started to actually use her powers to make a plant move or come alive, one of the two for sure but it was interesting to see. Conner keeps quiet still as he was really unsure of what to really do in this situation. Should he introduce himself? He had already done it to Emiko and the others were doing it as well. He thought back to what the Dr said about making friends his own age and that this would be the best time to do it. He took a big sigh and stood up, "Hey. My name is Conner Kent. I go by Superboy. If you can't figure it out by the S on my shirt and the name I have, I have some of the same powers as Superman. I am here to learn and to I guess, get to know you all. Thanks."

Eyes were glued to him. Should he have mentioned the superman powers part? Questions would follow surely but oh well. They would happen regardless of whether he said it now or later.
