    Nicolaus is often described as youthful for his age, mistaken for someone several years younger. In the last few years he has lost a significant amount of weight, but is not so unhealthy in appearance. Nico likes to think he's completely average, when in actuality he's rather lanky for someone of his height. His limbs are lean, covered in deceptively strong and wiry muscle.

    He has a thick head of sandy blond hair that is in a constantly styled state when in public. His eyes are a cloudy gray. After feeding, the iris turns dark crimson, and it is difficult to hide. As a result, he often wears contacts that make his eyes appear black in color.

    Some of Nico's most obvious tells are in his hands. When impatient, he will drum his fingers. When bored, he will pick at his nails and fidget with nearby objects. Most importantly, when Nico is hungry his hands will shake anxiously. All the while, his face maintains an engaging facade. The easiest way to tell what Nico is truly thinking is to watch for any kind of tells in his hands.

    A tattoo between his shoulder blades that waxes and wanes with the cycles of the moon. It allows Nico to walk in the daylight mostly unharmed, so long as it is restored at regular intervals. The design was created by Sylvester Hansen.

    Personality:
    At a first glance, Nico seems entirely charismatic and charming. He exudes confidence in each smile, an ever present feature on his lips. It's almost as if he's trying too hard to be amiable. Behind the facade, there is something that doesn't seem quite right. Despite being civil, polite, and an honest to goodness social butterfly, no one knows a lot about the man. He is easy to approach, but difficult to befriend. His cheery persona is believed to be a front for something entirely sadistic.

    At least, that's what people say.

    At home, he is a caring older brother to his three siblings. This is the closest thing to a real personality Nico is willing to show. Nothing is more important to him than his family, having taken on a parental role when his parents died in an accident five years prior. Although he's far from perfect, Nico does his best. He always puts forth his best effort when it comes to his family. That notion isn't always the same in many other regards, however. He certainly has his priorities.
  • History:
    Nicolaus was born the first of four to his career oriented parents. Although they would never admit it, their firstborn child was very much an accident, being born out of wedlock. His parents worked hard to make sure he was fed, clothed, and well cared for, but the familial bonds were incredibly lacking. Nannies were more of a parental figure than his own two blood relatives. Eventually his mother was able to get through her schooling and began her successful career as a doctor, his father progressively working towards his dreams of becoming an architect. While their dreams soared, Nico was content spending his time with the nannies who raised him. Being a young child, he didn't know any better. His career focused parents dictated much of the Klein children's lives, and their closeness only grew because of it.

    Five years ago Nicolaus was out on the town with his parents, a rare social night between just the three of them, when they were brutally attacked. The thugs killed his mother and father before forcing Nico to partake in a morbid display - drinking their blood. The ruthless beating made headlines for weeks to come. The entire Klein family was in the spotlight after the death of their parents, Nora and Olivier.

    From that day on, his insatiable thirst has never ceased. The sunlight burned his skin, he lost the ability to sleep, and any sense of a normal life was crushed with his ultimate transition into a vampire from legend. At first, Nicolaus did not understand what was happening to his body until the fateful night he came face to face with ravenous hunger. Fate was unkind still, as if the death of his parents wasn't enough to torment him. He was consumed by blood lust. Nico drained the blood from a young woman on the streets, and the murder still remains unsolved in the eyes of the public.

    Unable to cope with the thought of attacking his own family, Nicolaus made the decision to leave in order to learn some semblance of self control. His siblings were under the care of their Aunt and the family's last nanny, and that was better than a gruesome death by his own unchecked impulses.

    It was after the murder a man named Sylvester Hansen found young Nico. Sylvester was the best thing that could have happened, he himself being a centuries old vampire. He taught Nico how to control his undesired urges, where to find blood, and gave him an enchanted tattoo that allowed the young man to resume an almost normal lifestyle. It took some time before the new vampire was even able to walk down a busy street without the presence of the older, masterful vampire. Sylvester accompanied Nicolaus back to his hometown after a full year of absence, and Nico was able to integrate back into his family, although there were many questions he preferred to leave unanswered.

    In order to feel more comfortable, Nicolaus decided that a new nanny to take care of his siblings would be best. With that in mind, he began his search for someone who would care for his beloved family.

    Dominik is tall, dark, and handsome. Really. Standing above most of the residents of Wartburg at a height just over six feet, the man sticks out in a crowd. He is muscular, but not overly so, most of his strength comes from working in a shop from dawn until dusk, keeping his body toned. The same shop earned him a myriad of scars. From stitches to nicks in his hands, Dominik has experienced them all. His only regret is that some of the cuts have marked up his tattoos in an unpleasant way. Dozens of different pieces of ink cover his body; his chest, his hands, and all the way up his arms.

    Dominik is a genius wasting his efforts in all the wrong places. There is so much potential for him to do good, make progress for mankind, but he'd rather work on his car and find a cute girl to take to bed. He's the kind of guy who wants you to know he's smarter, and he damn well is. Although, it's a kind of street smart that doesn't compare with the book smarts of the Templar's resident techie. Better defined as being witty or sarcastic. Most people are incredibly put off by his forward nature and brash personality. He'll say what he means, what he likes, and he'll probably be right about it, too. People just don't like him at a glance. That being said, Dominik isn't entirely unpleasant to be around when he's being polite. So long as you can get him to be civil. Dominik does very little to invoke any kind of positive relationship with people, preferring to have acquaintances and friends with benefits rather than best friends. His crude nature probably has something to do with his difficulties making lasting bonds. Either that, or the rumors that he's cursed.

  • History:
    When Dominik was born, his grandfather once said he'd be nothing but trouble. He was right, but not for the reasons anyone would imagine. When the boy had barely turned one, his mother was attacked and killed by a gargoyle. A few short months later, his father turned to drinking and walked straight into a monster den on his way home from the bar. At least, that's the story everyone told, his body was never found. Monsters, they said, probably devoured what was left of him. Misfortune always seemed to follow poor Dominik, no matter where he went. The neighbors who took him in after the death of his father were mauled by beasts, but not Dominik. The toddler was left without a scratch, and that's when the rumors started to circulate that the baby was cursed.

    The small German outpost just beyond Wartburg Castle tolerated the boy until his Grandfather made the journey from his homeland, Poland, to care for his only descendant. From then on, he was considered an outcast and unwanted by the small town he was born to. Tomasz was bitter about having to leave his life behind as a successful mechanic for the Templar efforts in Poland, but family was family, and he made the trip without any hesitation. There would always be Templars, and there would always be beasts on the roads, but there would only ever be one more Novak. When asked if he'd do it again, he might be quick to say no, but don't believe a word. Tomasz and Dominik share a close and loving bond.

    As Dominik grew, his troubles only continued. Many of his friends and close acquaintances had great misfortunes fall on them. Even the Templars of Wartburg believed he was an ill omen. After his grandfather lost an arm and his teenage friend died, it was enough to make the boy believe that he was cursed. At the age of thirteen, Dominik attempted to kill himself by cutting his wrists. His grandfather was the one who found him, and ultimately saved his life. They don't talk much about what happened. Dominik never tried again, but from then on his life was a complete facade. From then on, he was the life of every party, the voice in every crowd. He projected himself out into the world so no one would ever dare come close enough to make him hurt again.

    Somewhere along the line his grandfather taught him a decent trade, fixing broken things. Though their relationship greatly suffered after Tomasz nearly lost his grandson. Tomasz was satisfied knowing his own knowledge wouldn't go to waste, what with his arm gone, but the two rarely spoke outside of their shop lessons. Tomasz was afraid of losing the only family he ever knew, and Dominik was afraid that whatever curse followed him would take his grandfather. Without either knowing, they drifted apart, both never admitting to the loneliness swelling in their hearts.

appearance: A small woman with an even smaller voice, but she is anything but timid any more. Fiona has lived most of her life being told what she cannot do and to simply obey, and her social skills have suffered greatly because of it. She has a round baby face with an ever present smirk on her lips. Her blue eyes are round and full of worry, even when she's not anxious. Fiona is completely blind in her left eye, but her right eye is mostly alright, and it is because of this she wears a thick pair of glasses as if to compensate. Her hair hides the fact that her blind eye is clouded over. Fiona typically wears long sleeved vestments to hide the multitude of punctures from her time as a test subject. On her wrist is a small metallic plate, a monitor which displays her vitals that was surgically implanted as a child.

⌜PERSONAL⌟
personality: Optimism and pessimism aren't words Fiona knows or understands. The world simply is and she is a part of it. She believes strongly in fate and that all things, whether good or bad, happen for a reason unknown to anyone. Fiona likes to be a part of the flow of things without much protest. Despite this, Fiona has an inherent desire to do good and help others, even if she can't quite articulate why it will matter in the end. She has a craving for knowledge inherited from her parents that can never be satiated. This craving blossomed when she made it into Bonheim and was able to experience the modern world for the first time.

history: Before Fiona was even born, she had expectations for what she was supposed to be. In a complete fluke, her mother found a calamity tree and slowly slipped into a state of mental insanity after consuming its single fruit. At the time, she was pregnant with Fiona, second child to the Rowan family. There was already so little data on the fruit and effects themselves, even less on the effects to an unborn child. From the day of her birth, Fiona has remained under constant supervision.

○ [2279] - Fiona is born to Victor and Adrianna Rowan somewhere on the Traceline while returning to Atlas. Adrianna's punishment for illegally consuming an eclipse fruit involved giving up her second child for study and abandoning her former research as a botanist studying the calamity trees. Imprisonment was also involved. At the end of the research involving mother and daughter, if Adrianna is found to be uncooperative, she is to be executed for the illegal consumption of an eclipse fruit.
○ [2282] - Research stagnates, finding no discernible differences between Fiona's biology than a regular infant. Progress is stated to continue as she ages. Fiona is allowed to be raised by her father until testing resumes. She lives at home with her father, and older brother Benjamin.
○ [2285] - Mother and daughter are reunited for simultaneous testing. This is the first time since birth Fiona has seen her mother. Adrianna reveals to Fiona that she has an innate ability for mending the body. Fiona is too young to understand what this means. She spends most of her time babbling to lab techs in a meager attempt to make friends.
○ [2287] - Research resumes in full swing, and Fiona is no longer allowed to stay with her father. Fiona is put under intense stress to determine if any ability has been transferred from mother to fetus, now child. Tests vary from blood samples, to bone breakage to assess the potential for healing capabilities. Fiona has a hard time recalling the next few years, unsure if she wants to remember her time as an object of study. She remembers brief moments when her mother was lucid enough to teach her about plants and what she used to study. Testing reveals Fiona has a fractional ability for healing, but she has little control over it.
○ [2290] - Victor abandons his wife and child to peruse a new life in Bonheim with their firstborn son. The stress had taken its toll. He begins his own medical practice in the middle ring and settles down there for good. Fiona says goodbye to her father, in the hopes that one day she might see him again.
○ [2291] - In a moment of lucidity, Adrianna takes Fiona and attempts to flee the facility that houses them. They make it out, and hide in the city for three days before being found. This is the first time Fiona has seen the outside of the facility or her childhood home. It sparked something in her which screamed to be let out. For the first time Fiona realized she wanted to be free.
○ [2294] - Woken in a state of panic, Fiona is yet again dragged away by her mother in an attempt to flee as the city of Atlas crumbles. The researchers are gone, medical personnel gone, and the city as a whole fled towards the Traceline. When they finally arrive in Bonheim, Adrianna passes away without warning.
○ [2294] - Fiona and her father are reunited. It's bittersweet, to tell her father of her time in Atlas and the passing of her mother. Initially Victor wants nothing to do with Fiona, fearing that someone will come looking for her. She fails miserably at living on the streets, and in the end it is her brother, Benjamin, who takes her in.
○ [2295] - Benjamin opts to teach Fiona some form of self defense in an earnest attempt to keep her safe. He is a low ranking Novice within Magna, and it sits wrong with him to have a half blind sister with no self defense. After her shifts, she would practice close combat fighting. It was all she could do, but learn, and Fiona refused to sit idly by because she had half the vision of most. Sharp shooting was, obviously, out of the question.
○ [2301] - It took years of establishing trust, but Victor taught Fiona all he could and allowed her to study medicine. Fiona took it to heart and spent endless nights reading medical texts in order to help her father as nothing more than a simple nurse, a profession which would have been an absolute impossibility in her younger days. She also took it upon herself to continue her study of botany, even if only for the brief connection to her insane mother. She's mostly come to peace with what happened when she was younger, though has a grudge against those responsible for her pain. Benjamin has suggested the idea of Fiona getting a prosthetic eye but the tech is too expensive for her to afford on her meager earnings, she is interested in the idea however.

Due to the relatively short nature of human lives, he enjoys weaving fake stories about his life. After all, no one has lived long enough to disprove the lies.

His charisma and charm make him an interesting person to befriend and know, but getting there is an almost impossible challenge. Conrad has long since given up attempting to make friendly with the local human population, the exception being those humans that tip particularly well when they've had a little too much to drink at his bar. That and the myriad of experiences and situations that have brought out his distrust in others. He finds it is much easier to simply go his own way, interfering little in the lives of others over the centuries.

To the handful he can call friends he is fiercely loyal and protective. They are his family, despite what any bloodline might say. He would give limb and life to see that no harm comes to any of the few he's chosen to call his family.

His disinterest in the human populace made him an ideal candidate for Grand vampire almost a century earlier. It's his sharp tongue and scheming thoughts that got him into trouble with the other supernatural orders. Although not the perfect leader, he's one of the best they've had for centuries.

Conrad is considered a master of the art of manipulation. Through the use of manipulation, he is able to convince another to do his bidding. The more complex the order, the more difficult the manipulation attempt is. Ordering a human to walk ten steps is considered a basic use of the skill. Ordering them to commit a crime over the span of several hours? Even Conrad would struggle with the task as it can take an incredible amount of focus. A person can be manipulated into doing something they would normally be ethically opposed, and due to this, there are consequences to those who abuse this power. For instance, if Conrad were to ever manipulate another nonhuman, he could be stripped of his titles. Manipulating the Grand Master of another Species has more severe penalties. Conrad need not touch his target to manipulate them, but it may be required the more difficult the attempt.

Memory Alteration:
In addition to being able to coerce someone into doing his bidding, Conrad can alter the mind in another way. He can erase or create memories at will. It is a very dangerous ability that he himself is not allowed to use except under the most extreme conditions. The practical uses often involve erasing the memories of a human who has seen supernatural activity. As an offensive ability however, it can leave an opponent confused and dazed. It is not practical for quick combat, but rather a long term ploy. Unlike manipulating, memory alteration requires a physical touch.

Shadow Play:
This power has multiple intended uses. Conrad has the ability to blend in with the shadows. He can simply turn into a black mist and blend into the dark should the need ever arise where he needs to be unseen. It also acts as a convenient means of transport. As a shadow, he is able to move quickly and silently. Although not as fast as teleportation, it is comparable in efficiency. Conrad is able to carry others with him so long as they are nearby. The disadvantage to becoming a shadow is that he is still able to be sensed or even smelled by anything nearby.

Healing - Tola has dedicated most of her life to the study of healing magic. She is still an apprentice, and has not earned her title as Doctor, but is nonetheless an impressive student.​
Botany - As a student of the Stiildus sect, and an apprentice of healing magic, Tola has an appropriate understanding of a wide variety of plants. That being said, she can discern between poisonous, edible, and otherwise helpful herbs. It is useful in both offensive tactics, such with poison blade coatings, and defensive tactics related to healing and preservation.​
Summon - In times of peril, Tola is able to summon beasts of the wild for aid. Her beast of choice is most often a large caribou, with a full and heavy rack of antlers. Although she is capable of summoning other beasts of the wild, though the action is incredibly draining. Although still one of her skills, she is not an adept summoner by any means.​
Patience - Tola is an incredibly patient woman, and doesn't mind when a patient gets a little out of hand under her care. She puts her duty of care above all else to ensure that her magic is the best it can be. She is not easily affected by harsh words or uncomfortable situations.​

Weaknesses:
Vulnerable - Being that Tola is a support role, and not that of a fighter, she is somewhat vulnerable when placed near the front lines. Although not incapable of defending herself, she would not survive most combat scenarios on her own.​
Dense - Tola takes things literally, and appears very deadpan in nature. She does not take her magic as a joke, and does not think others should either. Sarcasm is something that goes over her head. She can be very literal, and her demeanor is often mistaken for being too cold or unkind.​

A simple dagger, given to her by her father.​

Appearance:
Tola stands taller than most other women, considering she is supposed to have human heritage. At 5'11", her slender frame is often covered by the traditional clothes she has grown up wearing in the cold mountainous region. As a part of her healing studies, Tola took it upon herself to engrave white tattoos on her skin to aid the casting process. The most obvious feature would be the two horns protruding from just above her ears. They're a shade lighter than her dusty black hair. Her eyes are golden, and usually appear bored.​

Personality:
Tola is a woman of fierce dedication and passion, but you would never know it simply by speaking to her. She has a natural deadpan expression and monotone speaking tone that gives the impression she is constantly bored. On the contrary, once riled up, her expression turns up and her true feelings shine through. However, she is still rather dense, and is far too literal. Jokes and sarcasm are difficult for Tola to understand.​

Brief History:
The young woman doesn't remember much of her childhood. She knows she used to live in a small village. Her mother practiced small bouts of healing magic, and her father was often gone. He was a soldier under Emperor Uther. As the plague swept through the nation, it didn't hesitate to wipe out the small town she inhabited. Most of the village succumbed to the plague, leaving Tola and the local blacksmith, Tasond, as the only two survivors. Tola and Tasond moved nearby to what she came to know as a second home. Tola continued to practice her family's traditional method of healing magic, as well as studying new methodologies from the Arcanum Magnus. Not all seemed fond of the odd horned humans, but Tola never seemed to mind.​

Her greatest desire is to rejoin with the rest of the world in order to continue her studies, and eradicate the plague that took most of her village. She realizes it's as far fetched a dream as they come.​

Through countless years of training, focus, determination, and experimentation she invented the techniques that would be used by the Fell Maidens in the future. It may sound like Vira'Trys was immediately persuaded by the promise of glory and joined the rat race to impress upon an overlord whose arrival the Houses could never know. But in reality her hand was forced by the vicious politics of the Voka drow.​
When it was apparent that Kieran was the heir they were all waiting for, Vira'Trys formally offered Kieran the Fell Maidens when he was just a teenager. He countered her offer with a test, only willing to accept the aid of a Voka who could unite their clan once again. Appearance: The Azure King, Kaeras, is tall and lean in stature, as typical of the elven race. He stands an even 6' with sharp features, from his long, upturned nose, to the pointed ears on either side of his elongated face. As is his right, he dons the royal diadem with a single large gem of paraiba tourmaline, which shines a brilliant azure in color. It has been passed down since before the wall was built, an old and precious family heirloom. While tall and thin in appearance he is not lacking in strength. Beneath the typical silver armor, ceremonial no less, Kaeras is still quite able despite his age. Otherwise, his face is stern and unyielding to his true thoughts and feelings, no matter how charged a situation. Kaeras is, and strives to be, the figure of utmost authority in any room.

History: Born of noble blood from a long line of Kings and well practiced mages and sorcerers, Kaeras had every resource available to him from his birth. With Vraenor being leagues away, and only a pebble in the vast ocean of Shaodor, he had no distractions to keep him from honing in on his studies as a young boy. He married, a high Lord's daughter, Mirra, and she gave birth to their son and three daughters. Cyrthon, intelligent and proud like his father, and the three daughters Glenorra, Antalia, and Llaeyrl, both beautiful and deadly like their mother. Only once their own children had grown did Kaeras become King, after the passing of his father and previous ruler.

Then the wall came down, and the pebble became something much larger. A stone tower on the edge of the ocean with a beacon leading the way, Throauldr. A problem he could not ignore. With his history in the spotlight, there was little room for error, and he sent a small party to begin the delicate matter.
