Sable has a continuously shadowy look about him. Despite lighting, he always seems to have a darker aura around himself. Whether this is due to his origins, or due to the human soul asserting its presence, nobody is for sure. Sable has matching crimson hair and eyes. His hair is silky, and comes to his mid back in length. It is perpetually a certain length and never grows longer. If cut off, it will be grown back by the next day. This causes him mild discomfort. Sable's eyes are crimson, and do not sparkle with life as people would expect. He is often wearing a neutral expression, but smiles are also common.

Sable stands at 190 centimeters and weighs roughly 70 kilograms. He has a slight frame and little muscle. His skin is porcelain white. On his left eye, he has a rather deep scar reaching from the middle of his forehead to the top of his cheek. He has various scars across his torso that appear to be given by a blade and claws.

When he needs to, or loses control of his body, Sable manifests into a hideous creature. The creature has six horns protruding from its head, and a pair of huge black wings on its back. The thing looks to be dripping with inky shadow, and where its feet should be, there is only swirling tendrils of those same shadows. The creature's hands extend into horrifying, grisly claws. Though the entirety of its body is black, the eyes retain the crimson of Sable's regular eyes, but do glow menacingly.

PERSONALITY

+Considerate: Sable does not like to cause harm to people. He hates to hurt those who care about him, and those he cares about as well. While Sable is technically incapable of love, he understands what love is. Love in his case is mostly a strong urge to protect. He has only "loved" two people in his life.
+Optimistic: Rather than be down and blue all the time, Sable actually likes to think that good things are always around the corner. He isn't one to sit and be gloomy, and will always try to cheer up those he cares about by being as optimistic as he can. Sometimes people call him foolish and naive, but he tends to ignore that.
+Charming: Sable is strangely good at convincing people to see things his way. Many think he might have a sort of demonic presence that convinces people to listen to him, but he likes to think that he's just friendly enough that people want to listen to his ideas.

±Stoic: Sable is not one to let emotion get to his head. He is level-headed, and is unlikely to get very emotional around situations most would. He isn't a feels person, and just likes to think logically about scenarios. The only time he can lose his head is when those he loves are involved or when he is severely injured.
±Reserved: Even though Sable is kind and optimistic, he is unlikely to be very sociable any time soon. He prefers to be by himself or with a few close friends. He enjoys reading, and has a huge appetite for learning, so he can often be found in his quarters reading books he borrowed from the library.
±Determined: When Sable sets his mind to something, there is nothing that can stop him from getting what he wants. He is firmly cemented in his immortality, so nothing can keep him from his goals, not even death.

-Impulsive: Sable sometimes does not think things through before he acts. While he is definitely logical, he is sometimes a bit impatient. Poor impulse control leads to some regrettable decisions.
-Malevolent: Sable tries his hardest to not be horrid and bloodthirsty, but sometimes he cannot help himself. He holds grudges towards those who threaten him and those he cares for. He will actively seek out the destruction and torture of those who he feels are deserving of such a fate, and cares not for any humanity that has been lost because of it.
-Possessive: If Sable is anything, it is possessive. He gets jealous very easily, and gets upset when he thinks someone is trying to take away someone he cares about. He can be controlling as well, and will start to tell people what they can't and can do for what he perceives to be their own safety.

HISTORY

Sable's history is long and complicated. It all started in 1820 when Sable was created from the hatred of a dead man. This man killed his family and his wait staff with a wood axe and then killed himself with a flintlock pistol. Sable rose from the lingering hatred, and fled from the house into the village surrounding the mansion. It was here he consumed his first and only soul, that of a young man who attempted to kill him. From here, Sable wandered aimlessly until he found a woman named Amelia. This woman was the one who gave him his name. They lived together in the small village of Camson in England. They were both outcasts, and supported each other physically and emotionally. Amelia was Sable's first love, but like all other people in his life, she soon died.

Not being able to live in Camson due to the painful memories, Sable left, making his way to America. It was here he stayed low, and away from the superstitious folk who threatened him. However, there was a refuge for those like him. A place where supernatural creatures could confide with one another. It was at this place where he met an elven woman by the name of Laya. The two spent every waking hour with one another, because they felt connected to each other. They were both immune to time's hold on them, and enjoyed each other's company. He rescued her from her oppressive family and saved her life from those who would see her dead. Laya was the last person he loved.

Eventually, time got the better of them, and forced them apart. Sable once again was aimless, having lost his love. However, this was a much more accepting time for him, and technology was improving vastly, to his delight. Information was at the tip of his fingers. He used what he could to try and find Laya once more, but to no avail. He joined various supernatural organizations and even went to a certain interdimensional hangout in hopes of finding information. His influence in these various small organizations got him noticed by INVICTUS, and he was taken back to the facility. He went, somewhat hesitantly, hoping he could still find his lost love.

It has been just over 100 years since he joined INVICTUS. He is passionate about his work, and even though he knows the organization can be gray, he trusts them to know what they are doing, and to do what is right. He approves of wanting to strive for peace. He joined and was put under rigorous training, and while he was first assigned Fieldwork, he was soon reassigned to the Department of Defense because of his surprising strength and ability to hold his own when confronted with multiple attackers. He has only recently been given higher clearance and promoted to Agent Handler.

WEAPONS & ABILITIES

WEAPONS
Sable does not have many weapons outside of the average INV loadout, including a sidearm pistol, a combat knife, and a high voltage taser. He depends on his own physical strength and abilities to fight enemies. Close combat can be dangerous for him, but it's what he's best at.

While transformed, he can only use natural weapons. He was horns, teeth, and claws that are all well suited to slice through flesh. While he is not well suited to heavily armored individuals, he can still very much hold his own in this form.​

ABILITIES
Ability Name: Shadow Control
Description: Sable can control shadows, or darkness, around him. While he cannot manipulate them into any kind of physical form, he can usually spread the shadows around a wider space. He can blind people temporarily using them as well. He can use them to darken an area, or even lighten an area, and can create crude illusions with them as well. If he is hard pressed for shadows, he can use his own "blood", which is a dark, wispy substance. However, using too much of his own darkness can drain him quickly, and bring about the primal demon inside of him, of which he will have no control over.
Strengths: Can blind people, can create minor illusions, always has a source of darkness around him.
Weaknesses: His powers can take control of his body, blinding does not affect those who can see in the dark, he can become weakened using too much of his own darkness.

Ability Name: Enhanced Physicality
Description: Sable is much like any other human, except he is more physically perfect in nearly every way. His senses are heightened, he is stronger and faster, and due to his demonic nature has a specific sense in which he can "feel" souls. He says that sensing a soul just feels like a small tingle in the back of his head, and he doesn't pay much attention to it unless he actually concentrates on it.

While he cannot lift huge amounts of weight, or see an ant from a mile away, he does have moderately enhanced physical traits. He can lift more than an average person could lift, but not more than someone who actually uses super strength. All of his enhancements are not much more than what one could do if they were gifted or trained incredibly hard.
Strengths: He is moderately better at most physical things than others, can sense living creatures with a soul, can protect himself and others without need of a weapon.
Weaknesses: Isn't a fix-all, can't do anything too superhuman, cannot sense things without a soul (animals, automatons, undead, etc).

Ability Name: Pain Inducement
Description: Sable's only true offensive ability outside of his full demon self. Sable can cause pain of all sorts in a person's body, and can kill someone by doing so. While he tends to only need to make a person hurt enough to faint, he can absolutely kill a person from the shock of the pain. He doesn't like to hurt people, so tries to not use this ability, but he isn't shy about using it when needed. His abilities can be negated by those with the ability to block out pain, and it cannot affect those who cannot feel pain, such as robots. He needs to have line of sight or be directly touching the body in order to cause pain to his attacker. He can cause pain anywhere from the head to the foot. Those who have experienced his pain inducement have claimed it feels like claws digging into their skin.
Strengths: Powerful, he doesn't need a source of anything physical, stops most enemies from continuing to attack, doesn't have to kill.
Weaknesses: Can be blocked, does not affect machines or those who feel no pain, he has a limited reserve of his own energy to use it.

Ability Name: Demon Transformation
Description: Sable can transform into his full demon form in one of two ways. The first is completely his own decision. He can sacrifice most of his own darkness to transform, resulting in him gaining immense strength, devastating natural weapons, and the ability to kill someone instantly by ripping their very soul, or life force, from their body. Ripping a soul from someone is something he has vowed he will never do again after the first and only time he had done so. He hates transforming, as his own blood lust becomes unbearable, and he has little impulse control.

The second way Sable can transform is when he is unwilling. If Sable is nearing the brink of death, or if the thing inside him feels threatened while Sable is unconscious, it will transform in order to fight for its own survival. If it feels it cannot win against the current threat, it will use its enhanced shadow abilities and flight to escape to somewhere safe. Sable is not able to control it in this state, and it is free to do what it pleases.

When transformed, the demon has enhanced shadow abilities. It gains the ability to meld into shadows in order to escape danger or sneak up on a victim. It can also fly, using its large wings. It is only in this form that Sable can rip souls from people and consume them to gain in power.
Strengths: He becomes incredibly powerful, his abilities become enhanced, he can gain power, it is an automatic defense mechanism, makes him incredibly hard to kill.
Weaknesses: Killing Sable while in this form means killing him for good, he can easily lose control to the beast and it can harm allies, he becomes incredibly weak after using this ability willingly.​

Sable has various aspirations in his life, including finding Laya, attempting to start a family, and finally going home.

His fears include meeting a creature he cannot defeat, losing those he cares about, and tapeworms.

He can speak English fluently and occasionally can slip into a 19th century dialect, he can converse in Irish Gaelic, and knows a few words in Scottish Gaelic.

A quirk of Sable's is using way too many commas than needed as he is still used to the 19th century way of writing.

Despite being "born" in England, Sable does not have an English accent. He has lived in America for the majority of his life, and has gained a very generic American accent. Many tell him he sounds like he's from the Midwest.

Sable has a "kryptonite" weakness to platinum. Wearing platinum severely lessens his abilities and demonic physiology. Stabbing him with something made from platinum can bypass his demonic transformation and kill him instantly. Even just being in the presence of platinum can cause his skin to burn.

Yuka is a very plain looking individual. Her features are telling of her Japanese origins, but her hair is dyed a bright pink matching her code name while also shaved on one side. She has no tattoos and only two lobe piercings. She wears light makeup, but always has winged eyeliner. She is on the shorter side, standing 160 centimeters and weighing roughly 56 kilograms.

+Loyal: When Yuka finds something worth her loyalty, she is unwavering. This applies mostly to INVICTUS itself, but can apply to friends and family as well. She is unshakable in her loyalty to INVICTUS.
+Cheerful: Yuka thrives on staying happy. She loves to make others happy and is always optimistic about things. She will do everything in her power to make sure people don't have a terrible day.
+Focused: When she is focused, nothing can tear her away from her work. This can be very unhealthy for her, but it is mostly a positive. Her android keeps track of her so she doesn't get hurt.

±Casual: Yuka isn't one for treating people differently depending on their status. She is a very casual individual, and will treat everyone about the same. Of course, some minor respect goes towards the higher ups, but she otherwise treats everyone like a buddy.
±Sarcastic: Yuka would absolutely never be sarcastic. She's not sarcastic in the slightest, not at all.
±Tough: Mostly only bravado, but Yuka isn't one to cower in fear when someone more powerful is threatening her. She's intelligent and can make the best out of the worst. She is seemingly emotionally steeled.

-Arrogant: Yuka has always been considered one of the smartest people. She is highly intelligent, and doesn't mind letting other people know. Especially when pertaining to her field, she is the first to speak up about what she knows, and gets defensive when people question her knowledge.
-Repressed: Despite being a seemingly tough girl, Yuka hides her emotions and bottles them inside of her. Her family was not one for showing emotions, so she hides behind a facade of jokes and a take-no-bullshit attitude. Her emotions can wear down on her and she can spiral into depression pretty easily.
-Thoughtless: Being raised in the harsh environment of INVICTUS, some of her social skills are a little rusty- or nonexistent. She can say things she doesn't mean or say things that shouldn't be said. She doesn't see the harm in most things, and is still struggling to learn some more complex social skills.

Yuka was born in Tokyo, Japan to Matsui Ayame and Matsui Ichiro. Agent Hane, her mother, was also a regular human. Yuka's father, Agent Oni, was a superhuman. He had the ability of super strength. Yuka quite obviously took after her mother, and shows no signs of superhuman abilities. Yuka grew up inside of INVICTUS her entire life, and knows very little about living outside of them.

Yuka's life was very uneventful. She took after her mother in profession, and became interested in robotics at a very young age. She excelled in school, and was the top in her classes through her school life. She was tested often for signs of superhuman intelligence, but they never found anything. She was simply a smart kid. When she was 19 years old, they put her through an IQ test, and she managed a score of 143. Recently, she attempted another and got a score of 159. Her parents were incredibly proud.

When Yuka was 20 years old, she wanted to transfer to America. She chose the Texas branch, and her paperwork went through quickly, considering she was an INVICTUS child. When she transferred, she was of course assigned to their Research and Development team. It was at this time, she started making her own personal androids. They were never very fancy, but she enjoyed the work.

Three years ago, when Yuka was 24 years old, she made her first fully functional android partner, Tomomi. Tomomi was created to play music, hold tools, and be Yuka's personal computer and search engine. Tomomi can project images and holograms, and has some basic fighting capabilities found in an average human. Pleased with her work,
she was instructed to start working on personal robots that could be given to all agents. Thus began the work on Puchi, her current project. At the moment, Puchi is no more than a small, mobile turret that is merely an advanced alarm system, but she's hoping to have it weaponized within the year.

The rest of Yuka's life is quite normal. She has no siblings, and her parents are still alive working in the Japanese branch.

Yuka has some basic weaponry for an INVICTUS agent, including a sidearm pistol and a taser. Also beware of her wrenches, she has a good aim.
ABILITIES
Ability Name: Tomomi
Description: Not a power, but a robot. Tomomi is Yuka's companion android. Unlike what many assume, Tomomi is not an AI. She has a limited amount of responses, even though there are many. Tomomi's main purpose is to help Yuka work. She has some tools stored inside of her made for quick repairs on robotics. They are smaller tools, and thus not made for large scale projects. Tomomi also has a wireless link to the internet and can search anything with an authorized voice command. She can project holograms and plain images and videos. The cat ear headphones are made to project sound, and the headphone pieces allow Yuka to talk to her remotely. Yuka is the only person who can command Tomomi, but she can transfer command to someone if she needs to. Tomomi has a kill switch that can be activated remotely or manually to keep INVICTUS secrets out of the wrong hands.

As for fighting abilities, Tomomi was not built for combat. She does know basic Aikido, but not enough to be put into a combat role. If given a gun, Tomomi will shoot at targets that Yuka tells her to, however because Tomomi is not an AI, she has a limited ability for this. For example, if Yuka were to tell her "shoot anyone who comes through here", Tomomi would do just that; friend or foe. Yuka cannot tell her to shoot enemies, because Tomomi does not know who is an enemy and who is an ally. For this reason, it is best to keep Tomomi out of combat.
Strengths: A walking personal computer.
Weaknesses: Not good for combat.


Ability Name: Puchi
Description: Again, not an ability, Puchi is Yuka's current project. It is a small robotic turret about the size of a basketball. It is mobile, and can move to a position, and it can also anchor itself to a position for full turret abilities. Currently, Puchi is not lethal, and is mostly an advanced alarm system. It can spread an electromagnetic "net" in a five foot radius, and if the net is tripped, it will sound the alarm.

Even though Puchi is not lethal, it isn't defenseless. Yuka can set it up so anyone in its line of sight will get struck in the face by a blinding laser, and will attempt to hit their eyes using facial recognition technology. It doesn't do permanent damage (as far as she knows) but it can disorient and hurt like a bitch. As of now, Puchi is not voice activated, and can only be controlled manually. She can maneuver and arm it using a controller, or she can place it somewhere herself and put it into turret mode.
Strengths: Can blind people, good alarm system.
Weaknesses: Easily destroyed, pretty useless in every other vein, can't be voice controlled, is a rough draft of a finished product so sometimes malfunctions.

Yuka loves cats of all kinds, and her next "pet" project is making a robo-cat that can be outwardly indistinguishable from a real cat.

She has a crippling fear of heights and hates flying.

Yuka absolutely hates field missions and would much more prefer to simply examine things other agents bring to her. She only goes on one if ordered and has never volunteered for one since she moved departments.

She talks to her parents monthly usually over a video chat. They are very proud of her accomplishments, but are upset she's not married yet.

She is fluent in Japanese, German, and English. She knows conversational Korean and Hindi.

She has a Japanese accent.

She has a hush-hush project in creating her own AI, hoping to give it to Tomomi in order to give her emotions. She's terrified of her taking over the world, but presses on in hopes of her friendship overwriting any "take over the world" thoughts.

Atticus is a rather normal looking man with no real distinguishing features. He has an oval face with little stubble, and bright blue eyes that seem a little more blue than they would be naturally. They almost appear to glow.

His hair is a sandy blonde, a head-hugging cut, usually a bit shaggy and casual in appearance. He stands at 178 centimeters and weighs roughly 72 kilograms. His body is toned from years of construction and mercenary work. He has moderately tanned skin. When clothed, there is nothing significant about Atticus other than his slightly unnatural eyes.

When he has his clothes off, however, it is quite obvious that he is no regular human. Along his spine there are metal plates and small wires looping from badly scarred skin into the metal spine. Scar tissue is built up around the metal. This metal spine goes from the coccyx to the base of his neck before it disappears. On his chest, there are more wires travelling from his sternum down to the sides of his abdomen. He has similar small wires along his biceps and thighs.

PERSONALITY

+Thoughtful: Atticus is a very thoughtful man, and tends to see things through a more patient lens than others. He sees the fine details of things instead of rushing forward. He makes a wonderful infiltration agent because of this. His use as an assassin earlier in his life helped him to keep himself alert and aware of his surroundings. He puts others in his mind before himself. Specifically his family.
+Idealistic: Atticus believes that anything is possible given enough time. Even though life has beaten him down time and time again, he truly does believe that whatever ideals anyone might have, they are completely possible to achieve if they try. Of course, not everyone will succeed, but he has hope in the human race.
+Responsible: Any actions taken by Atticus are to be claimed by him and only him. He takes punishment when it is due and when he understands why, but can become bitter if punishment is handed out without explanation.

±Casual: Despite his cold and callous exterior while on duty, Atticus is actually quite laid back. He isn't always doom and gloom, and isn't always alert and in fight mode. He likes to relax every now and again, especially if he has a good book to read or music to listen to.
±Obedient: Atticus likes to follow certain procedures. He doesn't like to draw outside of the lines. Lines were put there for a reason. He follows his orders like a good boy, and doesn't like to divert from the norm. However, he is only willingly obedient to those he sees can be a good leader. He is only begrudgingly obedient to those who are not, and will only remain so until he can find a good out.
±Stern: While he is currently a soldier, Atticus is first and foremost a father. He looks to those younger than him as kids who need protecting. He will chastise them for doing something he doesn't agree with or if they are doing something dangerous. This can get him in trouble with some of the more youthful immortals.

-Blunt: Atticus is not one to beat around the bush. If he sees something wrong, he will call the person out. He will not usually lie for the sake of another, unless under very specific circumstances. He is always truthful in trivial matters, and doesn't understand why people would choose to white lie.
-Moody: Because of the rewiring of his brain, it can be hard for Atticus to really keep track of his emotions. He can change at the drop of a hat, which is annoying to everyone including him. Especially him. He doesn't understand most of the emotional switches, so he can end up a bundle of nerves trying to calm himself down.
-Sly: Atticus is a sneaky bastard. According to him, he always has been. Growing up in poverty, he had to be. He isn't above stealing to survive, and he is incredibly good at sneaking around. He can get people to tell him information he needs just by using simple misdirection and some faux charm.

Atticus was born in New York and was the oldest child out of 4. His family was working class, and nearing poverty. He was forced to work to help his family survive. When he was 18 years old, he met her. His wife to be. Marilyn. It was love at first sight for the two. They adored each other, even if they were worlds apart due to social class. Atticus was working class, Marilyn was from an upper class home and was an only child. Her father practically forbade the two from marrying, but they ignored his wishes and married within just a year of knowing each other. With her access to money, they soon had their own house.

Three months after they were married, they conceived their first child. Nine months later, they gave birth to a healthy baby boy who they named Avery. Two years later, they had a little girl named Tiffany. They were a happy little family. Atticus had found a good job working as a construction worker and Marilyn had found a way to work from home and also take care of the children. All in all, it was everything Atticus could ask for, and he was happy.

When the children were 8 and 7 respectively, disaster struck the Quinn family. Atticus lost his job due to an injury that left him in the hospital for a few weeks, and Marilyn couldn't keep the family afloat with her online job. Atticus couldn't find a job that would take him, forcing Marilyn to ask for money from her father. He relented, keeping the couple comfortable for a few months. However, it was soon after that her father became terminally ill, and died only three months after prognosis. Atticus and his family had to sell their home, and move into a small apartment just to make ends meet. They also had Atticus' hospital bills to worry about.

It was around this time that Atticus started to go to street fights. Not to play, but to compete. He was strong from his old job, and his injury was nothing that kept him from fighting. He quickly rose in ranks and became a crowd favorite. He was earning good amounts of money, and also catching someone's eye. It was then he entered his regretful life of mercenary work. He was given weapons and told to provide muscle to his boss, a mobster who was famous on the streets. He became good. He became very good.

Marilyn never approved of his line of work, but wasn't able to do anything. The two still loved each other and their children deeply. She became his weak point. He threatened to leave mercenary work if his pay wasn't increased- he had a family to think about after all. Instead of increasing his pay, they took out his family. He came home to find them gone. When he confronted his boss, he found they were alive and well, and would stay that way so long as he played along. He had no choice.

Demands became increasingly harder, and he was basically becoming an assassin, taking out marks so he could see his family for an hour that night, and to keep them alive. The final nail in the coffin is what officially sealed his fate and got him noticed by INVICTUS. He was given two options: go free with no strings attached and forsake his family, or have cybernetic surgery and let his family go free while he stayed behind and became a personal bodyguard to his boss. He of course chose the latter. He was surprisingly able to have a short and final farewell with his family. He went into surgery the next day.

Atticus came out of surgery with a new spine and nerves. These let him control magnetic fields around him. He was appointed to protect his boss, and did so for roughly a year. During this time, he worked on trying to find his family and to get out of working for this man. While he never was able to find his family, an opportunity to escape came quickly enough. It was explosive and violent and he killed many of the people he had worked with over the years, but he was finally free. He went into hiding, following a lead that lead him towards Texas, but he did not hide enough. INVICTUS found him and recruited him only a couple years ago. He hopes that in this organization he can find his family and finally live in relative peace. He was just transferred to the Collections Division a month ago due to his mostly stealthy abilities.

WEAPONS
Atticus has no natural weapons. When on missions, he prefers having automatic rifles with a scope, as well as a sidearm semi-automatic pistol. He does carry a high voltage taser as well as a large combat knife that can be used in tandem with his magnetism. He is an incredibly good hand-to-hand fighter, using no real style of fighting and instead just using street fighting and kickboxing.
ABILITIES
Ability Name: Magnetic Manipulation [active]
Description: Due to his cybernetic installation, Atticus has the ability to create magnetic fields in his hands. While he can only affect those wearing metal or metal objects, it is quite effective in disarming foes. He can throw and move metal objects, so long as they don't weigh too much. He has been known to lift things up to 136 kilograms, but usually he can only lift things around 90 kilograms. He uses this ability for stealth by wearing metal plates on the bottom of his shoes, and allowing for the magnetic field to make it so he is basically walking on air. He can also shoot "balls" of this magnetic field to push back anyone wearing magnetic items. This is an active ability, meaning it is not always "on". He has to activate his cybernetics in order to use these abilities.
Strengths: Can lift metal objects he normally wouldn't have the strength for, can easily disarm foes from a distance, can make his footsteps silent, can divert metal objects from hitting him directly.
Weaknesses: Using his ability too much can scramble his brain and leave his nerves burnt out, leaving him not only vulnerable to attacks, but also unable to form coherent thoughts. He can easily overuse this by lifting too much weight. This doesn't work on non-magnetic things.

Ability Name: Magnetic Manipulation [passive]
Description: Atticus' cybernetics not only allow him to tap into them to use them, they also provide him a passive ability. There is always a slightly more powerful magnetic field surrounding him than others. While this is not enough to stop a bullet, it can usually stop metal objects from doing as much damage to him when thrown, such as throwing knives.
Strengths: Always has a small amount of protection around him.
Weaknesses: Has an annoying side effect of ruining his use of compasses, and can pick up small metal objects and cause them to float around him. It is common for him to find random pins and metal shavings floating within arm's reach. Doesn't work with non-magnetic things.

Ability Name: Magnetic Shielding
Description: By expending the majority of the power stored inside his cybernetics, Atticus can make a decently large force field of pure magnetic power. The magnetic power of the force field is so great, that it repels even a normal human's natural magnetic field. This is only a last resort ability, as he will be utterly useless until his cybernetics recharge once again. This can cause him lasting brain damage. He has used it twice, once while defending his boss, once while escaping.
Strengths: Very powerful, can stop anything with a magnetic field, can slow bullets to a point that they are rendered useless.
Weaknesses: While it does repel attackers, allies also cannot move through the shield. It is a "final attack" scenario that will leave Atticus unconscious, it will send metal objects flying and potentially hurting other allies outside, it will repel those inside the shield if they are wearing magnetic metal.

Selene is a rather beautiful girl. She has somewhat darker brown skin with a cool, silvery undertone. Her hair is a shiny black and goes to the bottom of her ribs. Selene stands about 165 cm and weighs 62 kg. Her eyes are a haunting red, almost a bit pink.

Selene, however, can change her appearance. While she only has one human appearance, she can shapeshift into any arctic animal she chooses, including dangerous animals like a wolf and a polar bear, to smaller animals better suited for stealth like a puffin or a hare. No matter what she turns into, her eyes are always the same red color, which is a tell of her mythical heritage. If needed, Selene can also change into humanoid versions of those animals, all still with the red eyes.

While many assume Selene's human form is her natural form, they are sadly mistaken. Selene's true form is that of a tall, incredibly thin creature with pale whitish skin. Its fingers are long and spindly, as are their toes. Their eyes are positioned sideways so they blink side to side instead of up and down, and their mouths are sideways as well. Their mouths are lined with normal human teeth, and their eyes remain red. Thankfully for some, an ijiraat in this form is completely invisible to normal humans, but to anyone with magic associated with them or other creatures who are magical in nature, they are unfortunately able to bear witness to her nightmarish form.

+Courageous: Selene isn't one to run from danger. If there is an obstacle in her way, she won't shy away from it just because it might be too hard. She will face it head on, even if she fails.
+Cheerful: Selene is a bright and happy person, and she will try to do her best to cheer up others as well. She wants to make people feel good and be friends with everyone. Some think she is a little overbearing with her cheer, and this can turn people away, but she still tries to bring cheer to those who need it.
+Kind: Not one to turn away someone in need, Selene is one of the nicer people one will meet. She likes to think there's a good side to everyone, and that everyone deserves chances in life. She's incredibly friendly, even to those who have wronged her.

±Competitive: Selene enjoys the competition in life, whether it be a fight or a game of some sort, she often has to be reminded that it is just a game, that she can have fun, and to not hurt people. In sports, she is dead determined to be the best, even if she isn't.

-Disorganized: Selene is not exactly the most tidy individual. Her room is always cluttered and if someone attempted to find something in her living area, they would be horribly confused. There is an order in the madness, however, and she almost always knows where things are in her room.
-Clumsy: For being such an "elegant" creature, Selene is unfortunately extremely clumsy. She has a new bruise every week, if not more. She trips, falls, bumps into things, and is all around just not very aware of her surroundings. She is so clumsy, some have accused her of doing it on purpose.
-Insecure: Any sort of criticism about her will likely make Selene cry. Not only is she really easy to make cry, she gets especially heartbroken when someone comments on her looks, her personality, or really anything that she can't much control. She hates transforming into her normal form because everyone is scared of her and it makes her feel bad.

HISTORY

Selene was born to two other Ijiraat in a small town called Iqaluit in Nunavut, Canada, on Baffin Island. She didn't stay there long, however, and by her third year the family moved to Burnaby, British Columbia, which is where she grew up. Through her childhood, she was homeschooled and didn't have many friends, except for one. A young neighbor boy, Thomas, who was more fascinated by her eyes than scared became fast friends with Selene. His parents were shaken at first about the family's strange eyes, but soon welcomed them once they overcame their appearance and saw them as just another lovely family.

As Selene grew, she had Thomas at her side at all times. His parents began to homeschool him as well so the two could spend more time together. He was being bullied in school, so it made sense to them. The two spent every day together if they could, and the families brought them together on family outings. The two families became very good friends.

When Selene hit puberty at age 13, it came with the unfortunate side effect of now being able to shift into creatures. Her mind started to change, as her shifting went out of control. Her parents explained this was normal and tried to ease her into it, but hers was exceptionally bad. Her animalistic brain would take over when she shifted, usually into strange and terrifying combinations of animals, and she would attack anything nearby. Eventually, it slowed down, and her parents deemed it safe to let her return to her activities. They were terribly wrong.

When Selene next went out to meet with Thomas to go to the park, her shifting took over once again. Her form twisted into a horrible humanoid creature, and the beast brain took over, attacking her friend and killing him. Once she returned to her normal state and realized what had happened, she ran to her house and explained it to her parents. Without further thought, her parents sold their house, bought a camper, and drove away. Between this, police had questioned them, and when they left they knew they would be pursued. Instead of going to another town, they decided to find some secluded forest to live.

Years went by without incident, and Selene was now 16. Her shifting was under control, but her mental state was not. Years of guilt and mental agony weighed on her, until one day she decided to just leave. She left a note to her parents, explaining her situation, packed up some food and left. She went to a nearby town where the family usually shopped for groceries, getting a ride from someone at the truck stop. She wanted to get back to Burnaby to apologize to the couple. Before she could get to her destination, however, the trucker turned on her and attempted to take advantage of her. She was forced to kill him and find another way there.

Eventually, Selene found her way to the city. She found the house, knocked on the door, only to be told that the previous couple moved out. After some searching, she found that they left Canada entirely, and now lived in North Carolina. Knowing she'd never make it there, she gave up on her adventure. She didn't want to return to her parents however, she felt as if she had ruined their lives. Instead, she stayed in Burnaby. With nothing much to her name, and unable to find a job without a permanent address, Selene eventually moved to a life of crime and soon found herself as part of a gang. This new family of hers appreciated her gift, as it was best used for stealing and fighting. Instead of becoming just another bitch of the gang, she quickly gained ranks and trust, becoming very well known as someone you didn't mess with.

While Selene never got into drugs, she did get addicted to alcohol during this time, as well as became a wanted criminal. She was the muscle as well as the infiltrator for her gang, she didn't think much about taking the life of anyone anymore. When she turned 19, she once again lost control of herself after a night when she drank more than she ever had, and ended up killing some of her gang in the aftermath. She woke up in a ditch somewhere, clothes covered in blood. She was still in Burnaby, but didn't remember the previous night. Her gang members, now turned against her, let her know what she did and she was once again forced to run.

The rest of her life is mostly a blur, but somehow she ended up in Lethbridge. Here, she found help, and got back on her feet. Her crimes were never brought to light. At 22 years old, she got her first apartment signed in her name and was living a rather good life working as a manager of a local hardware store. She had been clean for a year, and stayed that way.

Now 27, she thought life was going well. While she had been tempted by alcohol more than a few times, she was able to stay clean. Selene got a call one night which changed everything. The parents of Thomas, they had found her and her number. They wanted to know why she did it because all signs pointed at her. Not being able to speak except for "I'm sorry, it was an accident.", she hung up and went to the nearest bar. She began to drink, wanting to drink herself to death. Unknown to her, she once again lost control of herself and was picked up by Invictus, where she now waits for her processing in a cell.

Ability Name: Shape Shifting
Description: Selene can transform into any arctic animal she wishes, as well as into a humanoid version of said animal, leading to some particularly terrifying creations. When she was first getting the ability to shift, her body would shift parts of her into various animals, but she isn't able to do so normally. Selene tends to favor wolves and caribou. She can also shift into a human form, which is what she usually wears, and can shift back into her regular self as well.
Strengths: Can shift into arctic animals in order to suit her need, gains the abilities and strengths of said animals such as speed or flight, can sometimes pass herself off as said animal.
Weaknesses: Can't shift into animals other than ones found in the arctic, only has one human skin, gains all of the weaknesses of said animals such as needing to breathe water or being poisoned by certain things, her eyes are always red so her disguises aren't foolproof.

Selene really loves coffee. She does not like tea, calling it "musty leaf water". Hot cocoa is her second favorite hot drink, followed by warm apple cider.

Before Invictus, Selene had no idea that there were really any other supernatural creatures in the world because she never met them.

Selene isn't particularly fond of transforming to anything smaller than a hare because it messes with her perception.

Teir's human half is a rather feminine but incredibly attractive male figure. His eyes are golden, matching the scales on his snake half. His skin is slightly tanned, and uncannily smooth. His fingernails are slightly thicker than normal, and always filed to a fine point, occasionally painted. While Teir does wear clothes, it is usually only simple, flowing, translucent shawls and garments. His torso muscles are actually quite defined and toned.

Below Teir's waist is anything but human. In a gradient, his tanned flesh turns into golden snake scales on a large snake tail. His tail is long, roughly 8 meters in length, and is a very strong muscle which can wrap around people and objects. While he cannot perform any delicate moves with his tail, he can grasp things as well as climb.

Teir's "hair" is not hair at all, but instead 12 living snakes. All twelve of the snakes seem to have their own personality, but are all tame. Unless they sense distress, they are calm but curious, sometimes one or two reaching out to smell someone with their tongues. They are not very active, but still move, making his head look very strange from afar, due to the writing mass of snakes.

+Intelligent: Teiresias was taught about the history of various topics his entire life. He is incredibly well-versed in many different cultures, mythical creatures, and languages. He has an answer to just about every question one might have on a historical subject. He loved to give answers and is always excited when someone is interested in his studies. He loves reading and absorbing as much information as he possibly can.
+Passionate: Not only is Teir passionate about his work, he is simply passionate about most everything in his life. He wears his heart on his sleeve and will share his passions with anyone willing. He is rather intense about anything that interests him, and he has many hobbies he starts and never continues. Due to his status and father's wealth, he can get away with such things.
+Sociable: If anything, Teir love to talk with people. While he can't often see them properly, he still enjoys listening to people and hearing their stories. Some may find his interactions strange, as he will usually touch people a lot due to lack of sight, but he never means harm. He gets very excited when people approach him and want to have a chat.

±Soft: While not exactly weak, Teir does have an emotional softness to him. He empathizes with people and is very gentle, both physically and emotionally. He actually prefers to not harm people, and is often easy to sway by use of pity.
±Luxurious: Growing up in a lavish environment, Teir is used to the finer things in life. Champagne, caviar, gold, and jewels are all things he was used to in his life growing up with his parents. He has a hard time getting used to the less extravagant Invictus facility, and still occasionally has some finer things imported for himself. He always has a bottle of vintage wine in his room somewhere.
±Sexual: While not necessarily a stereotype to gorgons, his type are known to be incredibly seductive and sexual, and Teiresias is no exception. He has no problem showing skin and flirting with men he finds attractive. His culture does not shun sexuality and in fact welcomes it wholeheartedly. Often, the men he flirts with are not attracted to him, occasionally leading to awkward moments, but he takes it in stride.

-Arrogant: Teir may be proud of his work and knowledge, but most think he is too proud. Teir is rather arrogant when it comes to his work, sometimes feeling as superior to those who don't know as much history as he does. While he tries not to, his superiority is shown when he is talking with someone who obviously knows less than he does.
-Spoiled: Growing up in a luxurious environment where he got everything he wanted, it's to be expected that Teir became a bit spoiled. He does expect the finer things in life, and will scoff at gifts given to him that don't meet his expectations (even if he doesn't do it in front of the giver).
-Narcissistic: When it comes to his looks, Teiresias is practically obsessed. He grooms himself every day to look good, and he fully believes that he is always gorgeous. He can become a bit too overobsessed with himself, often finding it preposterous that anyone would think he's not attractive. If he were to be rejected by someone who doesn't think he's an attractive person, he often blames that person for having poor taste.

HISTORY

Teiresias was born just outside Athens, in a small hidden "underground town" named Idysos. The town is hidden by various magics used by the gorgons, appearing to outsiders as overgrown ruins. In reality, the town is incredibly lavish inside, and Teir knew luxury from an early age. He was the son to the Administrator of the House of History, a very respected title to gorgons, as well as a very wealthy one. The House of History was one of the pillars of the community, along with the House of War, the House of Trade, and the House of Sciences. His mother and father never particularly showed their love for each other, but they were never scarce with their love for him. He was spoiled and given anything he wanted in life.

As he grew, he was taught about the history of not only the gorgons, but also the history of many other mythical creatures. He loved history and absorbed all he could, reading when he could. His lifestyle consisted of other things than reading, but by far his preferred hobby was brushing up on more historical documents and books. His father was proud of him, as was his mother. His father was his idol, as Teir wished to become next Administrator.

When Teiresias became an adult, he realized that while his dream still consisted of becoming next Administrator, he longed to study abroad. His father forbade it, as there would be little promise he would make it back safely, but promised him that he would begin to import more literature. He kept his promise, and Teir was soon swimming in new literature from around the world. While it was nothing like studying abroad, he was content.

Teir's time finally came to travel, however, and he knew this time his father would agree. Invictus, who the town had often worked with in the past, had wanted some historians to place at various facilities across the world. Teir's father accepted for a price, and gathered volunteers. Teir was the first to volunteer, and his father allowed it this time, trusting the institution to care for his son. Teiresias, along with other historians, were sent to different facilities, with Teir being sent to their Texas branch. He went through the basic training, and after 8 years, was promoted to Junior Agent. He was promoted last year, and still remains a Junior Agent to this day. Because of his status as a diplomat, however, he is often treated with the same respect and courtesy as many of the higher level agents.

Teir dislikes weapons, and he was never really trained in them, so he tends to reject conventional weaponry in favor of his own personal weapons, such as his claws, teeth, and petrifying gaze.
ABILITIES
Ability Name: Stone Gaze
Description: A gorgon's natural ability, Teir is able to turn people and animals to stone if he looks into their eyes. While this affects just about everything, it is easy to evade. So long as a person doesn't look him in the eye, they are immune. While mirrors do not reflect this ability to him like in legends, they do work as ways to see him and not be petrified. If someone is turned to stone via this gaze, an antidote can be made from the blood of any gorgon. Gorgons all know how to brew this antidote, and despite myths, most gorgons are willing to help those who were accidentally turned.
Strengths: Works on nearly everyone and everything that is living, all it requires is direct eye contact, the petrification can last indefinitely, effectively kills the subject but they can be revived later on.
Weaknesses: Doesn't work at long distances, doesn't work through mirrors, doesn't work on the undead, automatons, or really anything that couldn't be considered living matter (vampires, ghosts, robots, angels, etc would be immune), mirror sunglasses.

Ability Name: Snake Senses
Description: While not as powerful as a true snake, Teir has some of the same senses. His eyesight is sharp, but only for short distances. His hearing is not very good, but better than a snake's due to his more humanoid ears. His sense of smell is very acute, and his tongue can be used to smell. His tongue is different than a human's in that it is very smooth, a bit longer and thinner, and does have a small fork at the end. His fork is not as exaggerated as a snake's, but it does cause him to have a bit of a lisp. His sense of taste is also terrible.
Strengths: Some senses heightened, such as smell and sight.
Weaknesses: Some senses lowered, such as taste and sound.

Ability Name: Snake Hair
Description: The pile of a dozen snakes on Teir's head act a bit like his own personal alarm system and close range weapons. Their venom is very potent, and they can easily all lash out at the same target, inserting a lot of venom into one person. However, they are very tame and do not lash out unless they can feel Tieresias being threatened. They are his eyes when he has to be blind. Teir does have a name for all of them and treats them well, grooming and washing them regularly. They do not eat and are completely disinterested in any sort of food that would be offered. Any food that Teiresias eats also nourishes the snakes.
Strengths: His eyes and senses when he needs to be blindfolded, the snakes are very venomous, are able to be painful even to those who are immune to venoms, can alert Teir of something sneaking up on him.
Weaknesses: Teir gets confused due to all of the separate input, some snakes can sense what they think is danger but it's really not, they are a liability as they technically can strike at anyone, their venom does not effect anyone without blood to carry said venom, they can be separated from his body and he would be effectively blinded (though they will grow back eventually).

Ability Name: Paralyzing Venom
Description: While his snakes are more venomous out of the two, Teir himself has a nasty bite. He does have small, thin fangs that can inject people with a paralyzing venom. While his venom isn't enough to fully paralyze a grown adult, any limb he bites is likely not going to be used for a while. Again, like most venoms, his does not work against things without blood.
Strengths: Can paralyze parts of an adult, can paralyze an entire small person like a child or small fae.
Weaknesses: Isn't very potent, useless against those without blood, he has to be within biting distance.

Being from Greece, Teir has a rather obvious Greek accent.

Teir is fluent in Greek, English, and Italian. He knows conversational French and Spanish. While he cannot speak well in other languages, his work requires him to understand many ancient languages, especially ancient Hellenic languages and similar dead languages, such as Latin, Akkadian, and Coptic. He has books to help him translate most dead languages, however, and does not speak them much.

Teiresias is a poikilotherm, meaning he is cold blooded. Because of this, he loves warmth. While he is able to move around just fine in average temperatures of 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit, any colder than that and he starts to get very sleepy. Being in too cold of conditions can actually kill him. He prefers temperatures of 90+ degrees Fahrenheit. If he gets cold, he will seek out the nearest heat source.

Teir has an affinity for gold jewelry, and it is common to see him strutting around with lavish chains, chokers, and jewels.

He blindfolds himself when he goes out so he doesn't accidentally turn anyone to stone. His blindfolds are just another accessory for him, and are just as luxurious as the rest of his jewelry. He has many to match his outfit for the day.

Teir's tail helps him reach high places, and he can reach roughly 8 meters up.

Teir sleeps in a hammock suspended from his ceiling.

Teir sheds his tail and head snakes about once every month, which he is somewhat embarrassed about. In their culture, the couple days of shedding are treated much like an ancient woman on her period, and gorgons are not expected to leave their rooms until they are finished.

Milyra looks to be quite human-like in appearance, other than her pointed ears that tell of her heritage. She is taller than most elves due to being half human, standing at 162 cm. She is thin and slight, with not a lot of muscle on her. She weighs roughly 54 kg. Her physique has been likened to a fairy.

Despite being human in looks, there's something about Milyra that makes her seem a bit more ethereal than most. It almost seems as if she attracts light wherever she goes. Her skin is fair and rosy, her eyes are bright blue like the sky. Her blonde hair is nearly a creamy white in appearance. When light shines on her, she glows, hence her codename.

Milyra was born to an elven woman, Selather, a priestess. Milyra was thought to be a miracle child, because Selather had no husband or lover. She herself didn't realize she was pregnant until very far along. It was thought that the child would go on to do great things, and was raised in the temple where her mother resided.

Milyra became a regular sight at the temple. Those who came in for healing found her a joy to be around. She would entertain those around her with her antics. She had a fairly regular childhood, even though she was a temple girl. The temple was not for any god or goddess, but merely a temple for the ideal of Pacifism and Altruism. Called the Temple of the Twin Trees, it was a safe haven for those who required assistance and healing from those who served. It was well hidden by magics in rural Missouri, and known to only some.

As Milyra grew, her mother noticed that she was growing much faster than other elven children. By age 50, she already had the appearance of a young woman. She had incredibly advanced learning towards light magic, and it came almost naturally to her. Others her age would struggle with casting even basic spells, but she had accumulated most of the basics and was moving on to more advanced spells, ones she shouldn't have been able to learn until she was much older. The thought that she was destined for great things continued among those at the temple.

When word got out that there was a woman practically making miracles happen at this temple, and she was doing it for free, more and more people flocked. She was the most popular and the most requested healer. Her mother, who had been promoted to High Priestess, had been so incredibly proud of her. She was a miracle worker at just 75 years old. Of course, when word gets out, it's not only for good.

Word made its way to INVICTUS that a young elven woman had incredible healing abilities. They sent a team to extract Milyra, and she disappeared from the temple without a word. She woke up in the Texas branch of INVICTUS, not knowing where she was. She didn't fight against those who kidnapped her, but she wasn't very compliant at first, either. When she learned she would be helping people who got hurt, as well as helping to keep the world safe from dangerous entities, she began to cooperate. She has been part of INVICTUS for 26 years now, and has been a junior agent about 10 of those years. She expects to be promoted soon enough, but doesn't really care about ranks. All she wants is to help those in need, and eventually let her mother know that she's safe but won't be coming back.

Ability Name: Light Magic
Description: Milyra has been trained in magic since she was a young girl. She has various spells she can use to heal and buff those around her. She has no need for a spellbook, but does need her hands to draw symbols in the air. If she wants a new spell, she needs to properly learn it. She does have magical energy within her, and when that energy is depleted, she can no longer cast. She can feel the magical energy within herself, and has an understanding of the amount of magic she has in her at any given time.
Strengths: Has many spells and many uses, doesn't need a spellbook.
Weaknesses: Isn't a fix-all, she needs to learn new spells before she can use them.

Sub-ability Name: Heal
Description: When Milyra touches a person, she can heal their wounds. This can range from small cuts to shattered bones, bruises to internal bleeding, and just about anywhere in between. She cannot restore cut off limbs or return anyone from the dead, but can otherwise heal just about anything.
Strengths: Strong healing, heals almost everything, consumes relatively little energy depending on the wound.
Weaknesses: Can't bring a person back from death, can't restore limbs, only able to heal if touching the person physically, can cost a lot of magic energy if the wound is severe.

Description: Milyra can remove poison and toxins from food, drink, and a person's body.
Strengths: Removes poison and toxins.
Weaknesses: Can't remove poison entirely if in late stages in the body.

Description: Calm can be used to calm anyone if they are enraged or scared. It can be resisted by those with a high amount of willpower. It is primarily used to calm those who are panicking from being wounded or calming angry enemies so they can be talked to.
Strengths: Can calm most people, is effective even against robots and not alive creatures such as undead and constructs.
Weaknesses: Can be shaken off easily, lasts 30 minutes maximum, not always effective to calm enemies, doesn't calm people into passiveness.
