Tapestries

You are forgiven. Got a post up - not sure how much your guy will enjoy it - but it's up.

You won't like Alex when he's annoyed, no you won't like him at all.

@Cotillion, tis fine, post when you can. glad to see that people are still around.

Hey, if any body is planning to get up to the orbital platform talk to me first. the method to get there isn't your normal shuttle from the surface.

Sorry for the delay in response. I'll get a post up by the end of the day.

I've sent an email to Kyra through the forum letting her knew whats up. hopefully she comes back so Shadow Ike can post again.

I got a reply, she is not coming back. at this point shadow feel free to act as if you never met her and that your hiding is some abandoned house or something. or even break continuity and move to some place else.

We're going to need a few more players to move forward progressively. I can get a post up in the next couple of days. Haven't had the time to put together anything.

Sorry I haven't gotten a post up yet. Been swamped with school work. I have a week break next week though, so expect a post then.

Hope you don't mind another person joining in. Hope the sign-up is okay...

Character Name: Kana Sheira
Gender: Female
Artist?: Yes
Artistry Specialty: Altering the weather/climate.
Age: 18
General Appearance: Tall, she stands at around 5'11, and has a pale skin tone along with pale blue eyes. Her hair is a very dark brown, and falls past her shoulders, often left to its own devices. Part of it falls partially across the left side of her face, something she rarely bothers to sort out unless she needs to see.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Her clothes typically consist of a basic pair of trousers, a shirt, and thin black jacket, usually all black, as well as a pair of lack fingerless gloves. This style of attire rarely changes, even in climates where one would expect something different. If someone was to get close to her they may realize why – the air around her is colder than normal, or rarely hotter, to suit that which she is used to.

General Personality: Kana initially comes off as cold, choosing to keep to herself to avoid people figuring her out. In the same way she appears not to care about others, going about her own business with little concern about what is going around her, unless it involves her, or the rare few she actually cares about.
If someone persists, or appears to share similar goals, she will slowly begin to open up, becoming someone warm and dependable, instead of the untrusting persona she projects.

General History: Kana grew up in a colony based on an planet with an arctic climate. Separate from the rest of the universe by the constant storms, which prevented ships from being able to land frequently, she grew up learning how to survive in the harsh conditions, and hunt the seal like animals the used for food, and materials. She heard tales from others about space, and other planets, but she never really thought about it, preferring the life she had, though others may have called it difficult.

Soon after she turned 16 she was travelling with a group of colonists on a hunt when they got caught in a snowstorm. Caught unawares she was separated from the others, and was caught alone in the cold, only able to build a mediocre shelter. Frozen she prepared herself to die, and tried to imagine herself somewhere warmer to try and make it more bearable.
At first when the air began to heat up she thought it was just her imagination, but the melting snow proved otherwise, along with the fact she was able to survive. After returning to the colony she began to experiment with the strange abilities she possessed. Those she confided in had little knowledge of what had happened, and so she instead chose to leave on the next ship that managed to get through, and find out herself.

Since then she's learnt the truth about artists, and is now choosing to familiarize herself with different climates and weathers, to help aid herself, and because she does;t really know what else to do.

Going to give this a shot! Let me know if this doesn't work and I will fix.

Character Name: Kennedy Oxford

Gender: Trans Woman

Artist?: Yes

Artistry Specialty: Creating glamours, the altering of perceptions towards herself. If she had thought about it more she could have more control over others, but she's never shown any interest in focusing her abilities outward.

Age: 42

General Appearance: Access Vogue Universal on your iCon (short for Apple's iConsume, everyone who's anyone owns one) and witness Kennedy's sartorial inspiration. Couture is her middle name. She is tan, slender and tall at 6' and she favors dresses with empire silhouettes. Her casual style for her strawberry blond hair is down and perfectly blown out. Her eyes are brown and she likes to entertain the notion that they make her seem less intimidating.

General Personality: Very calculating and self-assured. For a long time, she's known what she wants and what Kennedy wants, she gets. On the negative side, this self-assurance can get very close to narcissism. Recently the narcissistic tendencies have become more of the norm for her personality than a boundary.

General History: Kennedy Oxford was born Ken Jameson, a male. Hir mother, the late Jacqueline Jameson (née Washington), was a hedge fund manager, wealthy and very well connected. Growing up Ken was very insecure and this manifested as a controlling and cold demeanor so basically, he didn't stand out amongst his peers, the privileged children of the elite. As a teen, Ken was considered very handsome and was a part-time model when ze wasn't attending the best schools in the galaxy. Ken's life was all one could expect until he got an invitation to a party.

Chet Oxford, the leader of the Oxford Entertainment Syndicate was retiring and the retirement party was the hottest ticket of the decade. Invites were hotly contested after but Ken with hir mother's connections and a finished photo spread for one of Oxford's magazines managed to snag an invite. It was at that party where Ken met Chet Oxford's son and heir, Hank.

The two immediately hit it off and became partners in crime and media darlings. They were the closest of friends, but soon Ken wanted more. Hank was willing but unfortunately, he rated a 0 on the Kinsey scale and any attempts at sex were abortive. They were still partners and friends, but things became awkward. Ken, more than a little bothered, decided to take a gap year on Earth instead of attending the Wharton School of Business on Gilese 581.

Earth was another life-changing experience. At first Ken attempted to drown hir sorrows in spending exorbitant amounts of money on clothes, clubs, restaurants and penthouse hotel suites on every continent but there was still something missing. Instead of money, Ken became a bit of a daredevil, climbing mountains, spelunking and skydiving. During that daredevil phase, Ken met a Mystic who took hir under her wing and instead of finding satisfaction through consumption and adrenaline rushes, began a period of self-reflection through meditation and philosophical debates. One day during a spiritual retreat, Ken woke up a woman. The Mystic claimed it was a gift from the spirits, but Ken was suspect and immediately went back to hir tent to experiment. Hir suspicions were confirmed when ze was able to change hir appearance back.

The prospect of being an Artist freaked Ken out. All hir accomplishments, wealth and connections would mean nothing if people believed that they were being involuntarily influenced. Ken resolved to keep his ability a secret. However, the Mystic demanded that Ken stay or risk the wrath of the divine. Ken refused and the Mystic, revealing her powers as an Artist attacked him. Ken barely made it out alive. In fact, it was the Mystic's insanity that eventually did her in, her demons turning on her. Ken was shaken but the Mystic's death solved the problem of keeping hir Artist abilities secret. It was time to return back to society, but ze allowed hirself one allowance.

The next year, when Ken arrived at Wharton, ze arrived as Kennedy Jameson. Everyone pretty much assumed that she had undergone surgery and she was content to let people believe that. She and Hank reacquainted themselves again and they were married by the time she graduated. Kennedy worked her way up to the Editor-in-Chief position on Vogue Universal, but as the wife of Hank Oxford, has her fingers in many other pies. One of those pies is being hired to run a propaganda campaign for the Artist Colonization movement, an idea growing popular amongst moderates squeamish about the oppression of Artists, but uneasy about a race of super-humanoids in the general populace.
