Cael gave the woman a small nod as she refused his offer politely, it was no surprise that she was being wary. They were near the Death's Shadow after all, and just meeting him without any past knowledge was another factor as well. Regardless of their relation he nodded his head. "Do not fret, i was merely offering some help is all although i understand the rejection. You know, i have a place not too far from here but umm.... i do not think it would be wise to invite you so perhaps i could set up some temporary accommodation for us? Or at the least for you and your partner."

He knew that if the dragon were to approach his illusioned home then it would be all over for him, especially since it was made of the bones of dragons long since dead. It wasn't exactly his proudest of moments but it offered him the best protection against harm he could find. Both magic and metal could hardly break a dragons bones, usually other dragons or beasts of that size were although he hoped none would come after him. As he threw out that idea he noticed that the woman was changing clothes, he quickly averted his eyes and came to notice something else on a hill a small distance away. There was a faint light from the other side of it and not long after a silhouette peaked over the top. It was obviously another mage although their gender race and origin were all currently a mystery.

As he pondered over who or what was coming towards them he turned his attention back to the woman and noticed a small fire as well as her change in garments. "Well, not to alarm you or anything but there seems to be another magic user approaching us. Stay calm for now if you would be so kind, i don't want either of us jumping to conclusions so let us wait." He held his hand out and took the jerky when she offered it to him. He knew that they could be in a great deal of danger at the moment but he also knew what could happen if he rushed to conclusions and attacked without provocation. Instead Cael let himself enjoy the warmth of the fire while admiring the woman and the dragon before him. It was quite a difference to see a live and full fledged dragon before him rather than books pictures and bones of one. It was such an elegant yet devastating creature that he wanted very much to study. Their blood bones and skin were all worth a small fortune let alone their eggs. He wondered very much if it was a male or female but knew it would be rude to just ask outright or to snoop without permission.

Navi nodded her head and continued leaning back and nibbling on her jerky. Running into this many people in such a short amount of time was wearing on her cautious nature, normal mortals would call paranoia. The wizard was right to air on the side of caution although she didn't need to be reminded on how she be calm. Call it a pet peeve of hers but she didn't like being reminded of the obvious. It could have been that he was advising her to be to remind himself. One of her older brothers had done that often mu h to everyone's ire. She'd would cut the wizard some slack for now.
The offer about accommodations sounded generous but she felt more comfortable in the wild. Maybe if she knew him better, the offer wouldn't have been so distasteful and the way he observed her and Dar'Theron wasn't warming her up either. Throwing it up to the fact that others outside of the Tornavan Mountains weren't familar with seeing dragons on a normal basis like her people were.
Once the two new comers were close enough to see, her senses were bombarded by a number of presences. Not just magic, but she sensed something else. It was some kind of substance and it came from both of them while the magic only came from the woman. Dar'Theron also felt it, 'Mithral.'
Hearing his thoughts, she nodded and continued to observe them. This was going to be some night. "Good evening."

Edward sat with his back pressed against a tree. He was humming a tune softly to himself as he watched the sky. The day had dragged on and he was tired. The last village he and his group of wondering performers visited was a bust. They had barely enough money for food for the rest of the week. He felt he would be alright he could hunt really well but he wasn't sure about the others. If they allowed it he would share his meal but most of them tried to avoid him if they could. It was pretty much just him and his mother Lyn. His father was out of the picture after an argument they had when the man had struck his wife. Edward had taken exception to that by pinning him to the ground and threatening bodily harm should he do it again. It had been strange because his father had originally been a big supporter of them. How it all changed Edward did not know but he was glad to be rid of the man now.

Bored of sitting he turned slightly and 'fell' off the branch landing carefully on his feet. He had started to walk away when something had caught his ear. It was a loud crash of something big hitting the water. Curious he turned in that direction but paused. Did he really want to go see what was over there? What if it was something dull then he would have walked all that way for nothing. He glanced back the way he'd come from and sighed. Whatever it had been would probably be better than going back. He'd caused trouble again. He couldn't help it, it was in his nature.

Kneeling on one knee he closed his eyes and focused on a black cat. His body slowly became smaller and his hands and feet turned into paws. His senses became more acute and once the change was complete he twitched and ear and started toward the noise. His padded paws making little to no noise as he slipped through brush and trees. It was going to be a pain later to get the sticky plants out of his fur. They were like weeds, weeds that had prickly parts that stuck to him. He did not like it but he'd committed himself to the task and his curiosity had been piqued.

He paused at the end of the water and felt his feline mouth open a bit. A dragon? They actually existed? Normally a person would lean to the side of caution but at the moment, he was just to excited. Without thinking he bounded off and instead of going the short way and winding up behind them he chose to come by the front. There were two others there but he'd completely ignored them and went straight for the dragon stopping right in front of its feet. He looked up at it with green feline eyes and felt himself begin to purr. A real dragon, it was exciting and if he'd been thinking straight, dangerous to do what he'd done.

[spoili]Name: Edward Jackson
Race: Shape shifter (of the cat family)
Age: 23
Appearance:
3049914.jpg
Primarily Chestnut Brown hair, Deep Green eyes. Mischievous/Playful voice.
History:
Edward, was born to a family of travelers who played for the masses to get money. He learned he was special when he grew agitated and turned into a Tiger to protect his family from robbers and thieves. He had been gravely injured in the attack and still has a scar on his abdomen. At first the travelers had feared him and would have left him to die had it not been for his kind hearted mother (Lyn Jackson). He had received the gift of shape shifting from her though she'd learned to hid it through training and discipline. She had told them she would teach him to control his power and that he would never use it against them. He could take on the form of any animal apart of the feline race. His abilities would match that of the animal in which he took. Most of the time he loved to roam around as a cat, it made slipping away much easier when he wanted to be alone. His father had helped as much as possible but could do little to help the woman and son he loved.
Personality:
Edward is a mischievous type and can get into trouble doing some pretty silly things. He mostly gives in to his curious nature which also gets him into trouble though he is not, in fact, a trouble maker. He lives on instinct and does what he feels he must though it would seem odd to most. He is sneaky when he has to be and can be the most charming person in the world on very rare occasions. (not that often) He is outspoken and not shy at all. Gentle and kind to anyone he trusts and will protect them with everything he has. Shows little to no mercy to anyone who would dare hurt those he loves but that is his only ruthless quality.
Misc:
He does not understand women, though he wishes he could. (like most men) Like most house cats he does not like water that much and avoids it if he can. Has many catlike tendencies and can "communicate" with cats when he wants to. Though that is more he gets their mannerisms and things like that, nothing psychic. Loves to play and laugh and climb. He usually wears green linen shirt, brown hose, brown jerkin with braded ties, tall brown boots and sometimes a cloak made of various shades of greens and browns.[/spoili]

Dar'Theron sniffed and smelt cat...or something like a cat. Tilting his head to the side a bit to see the small ball of fluff, there sat a cat. The creatures were an odd sort to him, they completely ignore you and sleep on your head or are smart to know not to venture too close. This one, didn't feel or smell right. He thought quizzically. 'What are you.'

Squinting, Marina stopped for a moment. She saw a blackness streak against the glow of the purple, but what it was, was still unknown to her. Pushing forward, her curiosity took over and she practically abandoned her current companion. Though she was still aware of the large creature before her, and slowed down again when she was about two meters away.

It was... Huge, much larger than Marina thought before. But by the looks of it the creature was just as curious as she was, gazing down at the black blob below it. Which reminded her.

Glancing over, Marina saw two figures by the fire and completely missed the fact that one of them already spoke to her. She didn't know what too say, but figured she should put her duty first, and questions later. Clutching the staff to her chest, carefully padded over and in a slightly concerned tone asked "Is everyone alright..?" She figured if that was going to be her first impression, it had to be a good one. Patiently waiting for a response, allowed her eyes to drift to the pair, taking them both in.

The man in the robes was nothing out of the ordinary, guessing he was human, Marina averted her eyes to the women. This sparked her curiosity, she never saw anyone who looked like 'that'. Not by the women muscular body, but by the.... Scales, on her. And her ears, she never knew of any Elves or Orcs who had ears shaped like that, not even mixed bloods. Although Marina was openly staring, she did her best to keep it hidden to look like she was checking for any wounds, which she actually was at the same time.

She had seen that look before. In the last village that she had past through to restock her supplies, they all stared or tried to hide it with ulterior motives for looking closely. Her people don't come north very often so its no surprise that many of the folk here wouldn't recognize her race. Most throw it up as some half-breed and if the scales aren't brightly colored like her turquoise ones, they tend to ignore they exist for their own good. Irritating a person who looks like they're related to lizards or dragons tends to be on the tail end of most people's list. She only had one guy get in her face about being in town but he was drunk and his face was pretty squishy when her fist met it.
"Nothing that a good night's rest won't cure." She dug in her bag and pulled out a waterskin and a couple more pieces of jerky out. After all of this she would need to restock again a lot sooner than she had intended but with the circumstances, it was better to be polite than piss off potential enemies. She could be a rash person and go head first against foes she viewed as evenly matched...mages weren't one of them. There were too many variables that could make things go wrong. Handing the jerky toward the two newcomers and the water to the wizard she asked. "Care for some? I'm Navissiel Stormfury by the way."

Edward shook himself after the dragon was done sniffing him and let out a small sneeze. Licking his paw he looked up at the dragon again not saying a word. He had not learned that trick but his mother had promised to teach him soon. Standing he rubbed his head against the dragons leg and was surprised at how hard and scaly it was. He was purring loudly and he let out a small meow. Though he felt a bit small and insignificant compared to the Dragon. He knew no matter what he did it would be nothing compared to it but…focusing his energy he shifted into a Panther and gave the Dragon a strange smile that only something in the feline family could do.

Many things had begun to happen in the very short time of Cael and Navissiel's meeting. First, he had met his first living dragon, second another mage had appeared, one of the white judging by her clothes and lastly it seemed that a shapeshifter had now appeared as well. The shapeshifter was looking the dragon up and down without any effort to hide or conceal its own unique features. The white witch was looking the group over as well, she seemed to be overwhelmed by the size of the dragon although it didn't stop her from asking of their wounds if any were present.

"Hmm, a white witch eh? Well i am unharmed and it seems those two are unharmed as well. Perhaps it was not your full intention of checking for harm though? You seem a tad more interested in the dragon than our well being at the moment." Cael was absentmindedly chewing on the jerky that Navissiel had given him, it didn't even occur to him that they never introduced themselves to each other and he figured that now would be the most proper of times since most of them were gathered. He stood up slowly and patted off some of the dirt and dust from the ground. "So, how about introductions. My name is Cael Thelzal. I live within the Death's Shadow. Might i know your names fellow maidens?"

Cael was fiddling with the small Mithral orbs in his hands. The gathering of the oddballs around him was entertaining but he was still unsure if he was in danger or not. If he were to be targeted by more than one he would be in grave danger and was unsure if he could escape a white witch AND a dragon rider. If the shapeshifter was able to shift into larger animals as well escape would be impossible. He really hoped that this was not some ploy into luring him out of his house to capture him like countless others had tried to.

The wall up the little hill had been delightful for Cenru. The Princess had pulled up her skirt to climb the hill, revealing her luscious legs. Cenru believed herself to be better at hiding her excitement than a typical man, but after Princess Marina had almost uncovered her to be a girl, Cenru made her oggling more obvious than usual.

Then they'd reach the top of the hill. And Cenru had almost peed in fear. The dragon, Cenru was fine with. She'd seen a variety of beasts in her childhood, and she knew how to deal with them. The other two were what scared her. Cenru had learned to recognize magic-users, since they were usually bad news. Princess Marina was the only magic-user Cenru could remember that hadn't tried to rob or kill him. As for the girl, she had scales on her. Scales! Plus her ears weren't too normal either. A magic-user and a hostile-looking scaly girl wasn't exactly Cenru's dream combination. So she stayed silent, to see what they had to say.

Then Princess Marina had shown interest in the pair, who'd now been joined by a feline shape-shifter. Cenru couldn't let the Princess be with such fishy people without support, so Cenru replied to Cael- if that really was his name- "I'm Cenru, a traveler. And I'm not a maiden, contrary to popular belief." Cenru hadn't meant the comment to sound so harsh, and she regretted saying it immediately. It would sound like she was trying to get at the Princess for her mistake, an acciedent Cenru hoped she would be forgiven, at best the comment unnoticed.

((No worries, it was an interesting scene. :)))

Marina was but surprised, and admired at how quickly the wizard was able to learn that from her. Although it was true she was highly interested in the dragon, she herself was watching its behavior. Though now noticing she was the only one who didn't speak their name, finally decided it was for the best. "Marina De'Cluse..."

Marina didn't view herself as a 'fair maiden'. More or less she could be a complete tomboy at times who could beat an Orc in an arm wrestle, while only worrying about if she was going to chip a nail. And the main reason why she was drawn over was of her curiosity. Having never seen a dragon so calm, and so still. The calmest Dracus she had ever seen was a small Hydra, which nearly bathed her in acid.

Finally realizing she was being offered something, Marina politely declined and returned her gaze to the women. She had heard stories of people living in the mountains, though she didn't know if it was the Icy range or the mountains of Hell. And she figured that's where she may have come from, having never seen anyone whom looked similar.

And thinking it may be better to ask now than to regret it later, Marina did her best to make the question modest. "Where are you from?" Knowing it was probably the wrong question, quickly added. "I myself is more royalty turned rampant. But less of the.... Rampant... Part." 'Idiot' she thought to herself, but spoke no more.

[spoili]Did the site crash for anybody else?

I had this all typed up and I lost it! >w< Sorry if it's a little confusing[/spoili]

The two were before her and Cael were seething in anxiety, Dar'Theron could smell it and she couldn't blame them. She herself was in a position where this could all go sideways really fast. It would be nice if she could figure out if these people were dangerous to her and her dragon but all she could do was sit and wait for a slip up to take advantage of. The boy's statement made her turn her head to side and regard him with careful study. The boy had some feminine features that could get him mixed up with the fairer sex but there was something off with this guy, she wasn't sure what though. And the girl...that was a pretty weird statement. She could help her brow raising in question as she answered. "Uh, I'm from Tornavan Mountains."
She had noticed the cat earlier and thought nothing of it as the wee beasts were everywhere but now it decided to get much larger and pester Dar'Theron. Navi didn't have much experience with shapeshifters, so this was becoming interesting. Feeling her dragon's emotions, she knew that he was confused and becoming a little irritated with the beast getting into his personal bubble. Standing up, she yelled over at the shapeshifter. "Oye! Either introduce yourself over here or I swear he'll sit on you!"

Edward turned his Panther head toward the shouting woman tilting slightly in confusion. He had not noticed them there before, he'd been completely focused on the dragon. A glance up and his feline form sort of winced. He should have realized he was annoying the dragon but his curiosity and excitement had overruled his common sense. As if to apologize he bowed his head slightly and turned toward the group that had gathered. He had not heard their names and figured he would probably hear them again at some point before it was all over.

When he reached the group he paused and sat on his hunches. Closing his eyes he imagined himself as a person again and shifted to his original form. It looked like he was sitting on the grass and did not bother to stand. He was tired, all the shifting and running wore him out. By this point he would probably be trying to take a nap but that would be rude. "Sorry, I didn't mean to be offensive." He said to the dragon rider girl. If he'd been smart he would have paid attention better and gave the dragon an apologetic glance once again.

Turning his gaze back to the group he said, "I'm Edward, Edward Jackson I don't hail from anywhere accept a traveling group." It was an interesting ring of people that had gathered and his eyes studied each and every one of them. He wasn't being hostile or aggressive, just his normal laid-backish attitude. He wondered briefly if his shifting to something other than an animal was such a good idea. Then again he wouldn't have been able to introduce himself otherwise. He really needed to get his mother to teach him that trick.

The group was all gathering closer now, the shapeshifter had finally turned back into human form with a relaxed kind of demeanor. The white witch had made them self out to be some sort of royal type and her looks did back it up quite nicely. The dragon rider seemed to be getting agitated, as was her dragon, both of them he would prefer to avoid when angered. Lastly, the other person, Cenru the traveler, seemed to be in quite a ruffle about their gender and his general direction towards the ladies when he asked for their names. Seeing as how the shapeshifter and dragon rider were getting into a half heated affair he could safely assume that this was just a random gathering of souls and not a combined effort to ensnare him in a trap.

Cael leaned his head back a little bit before jerking it left then right violently allowing an audible cracking noise to ring out in the night. "Ahhhh, well i didn't mean to offend you ma'am, but you have such a delicate looking face and such luscious curves." Cael was poking fun at Cenru with an obvious tone and a smile to match his devilish nature. "If i were not charmed so much by feminine specimens then i dare say i would be attracted to my own gender if they looked quite as lovely as you." With that he let out a boisterous laugh before clasping a hand to his mouth in an attempt to stifle it. "I do sincerely apologize though. I was just using the term to address the ladies here since they outnumber us fellow men, or at least they did until Edward over there shifted."

As he took a small bite of the jerky that Navissiel had given him he looked over at Marina. She seemed to lack the air of royalty that most of the stuck up privileged classes had, the fact that she was out in the middle of nowhere was another thing that gave her word of being royal a big disbelief. Regardless if she was royal or not she still possessed magic and it was by far the opposite of his own. Perhaps he could use her to help his studies about his own magic, or even to master both of them. It was merely wishful thinking, after all, as far as he knew they were supposed to be mortal enemies. "So. What brings the lot of you all here? I myself was about to go fishing for some food when something big and bulky with deadly teeth fell from the sky carrying this girl on its back. And her, well, i think she crashed unintentionally. Although a royal gone rogue like yourself i don't understand. The traveler accompanying you might suggest you are on a journey somewhere? Or perhaps you were looking to follow the traveling performers?"

"Uh, the dragon is a he, so the genders are actually even...unless you're only counting humanoids." Navi corrected and went back to her food. While she chewed and listened, she pondered on what exactly to say on her reason for being so far north of the Tornavan mountains. As it was starting to look, these people were appearing to be just random people. The wizard was looking like the only one she should keep a close eye on but she wasn't about to ignore the others either. For one the witch had claimed royalty but threw it away to go rogue as Cael had put it, what reason would fuel someone to throw a life of privilege aside for a harsh life on the road? The traveler was still an enigma to her with their constant correction of gender and the shapeshifter was from a travel group, possibly a circus of some sort. Her father never trusted "Carnies" as he called them.
"The two of us are just traveling. You know seeing the world and such." It was a partial truth. None of them needed to know she was headed to Hell to forge Dar'Theron.
