That is true.

However, I did intend on creating an antagonist faction later on... =P
I would prefer you privately give me some information on what you plan to do with this since I am the GM after all.

Yes, I was going to speak with you when the time came, but for now, I still have to plan the majority of it. It sort of is connected to Kamiko's backstory, though, so I guess you could consider it more of an event than a real faction. It'd be just a short battle, more like it.

In regards to troop numbers. There are three workable numbers I can give, that would have an even maybe somewhat uneven spread. From best case to worst case.

Figure at least a science team of 10-12 members, or mages, whatever you want to call them, plus 12-22 or so Officers and NCO's or at least people in those positions.

at the lowest I would say a platoon of 32 men are at each location, some locations may have fewer, some more.

So a base number of in the smallest grouping of 60. 22 for each location, which seems like alot minus they are for the most part infantry with a small team of specialist, on paper its a lot, but those guys if they were so effective, we would not need the magical Army, so it stands to reason they (Our students) are better than normal infanty. Or able to take and dish out more pain.

120, total would put 40 men at each location, one Company of troops with support staff, this number seems the most realistic. Seems like a lot but they have to patrol, guard various areas, etc. The worst figure I can place is 360-400 men. Which is about a battalion, with one company split between each location, (60 men in the labs and research) the other 60 on the premiter, effectively out of the fight, unless we take all day. And 120 standing down, sleeping, eating, etc.

So that 360 is more like 240. Personally more of a fan of the 120. But less might work out as well. I'll just leave others to make imputs.

This number could be worked in other ways to say, 90 total men, or 80. Plenty of room to work with it really.

Actually if they have magical powers the numbers would be reduced more, the enemy that is, but hmm..doesn't seem anyone cares to give imput :/

Well obviously if the plans go off without a hitch, then thats boring. We should have back up ready at any time on the enemy side. I say we do this dynasty warriors style. Infinite amount of disposable lackeys to be used to make characters badass, and a set number of enemies who actually pose a problem and one "Boss enemy"

Well given my own thoughts on the mission, I'm running with the following logic.

Sending students after an enemey that likely has military, or former in it, who knows the real army's moves, thats a bit..well "Welcome to Stalingrad Comrades!"

All of the kids being sent are problems, out right disobeying commands, not working in groups well...if a few of them died, well thats a bonus. Then you have the Academy leader's daughter there with them...and lastly Isra whos bio all but outright says "Daddy's little weapon." So you make a mission look "safer" than it is, send people that won't be missed, something to "apply" the screws, and when it all goes south with enemy reinforcements, you present a weapon based on human expirmentation, thats against the law, for pretty much anyone. The daughter being there insures that Mom and Pop will go along with it and keep their mouths shut unless they want a casket brought home.

Of course Isra will pay a bit of a price for this, it also serves as a bit of "Huehuehue..well I saved you all, so you'll come to my party yes?" blackmail.

As to clarify, Isra has her nickname from devistating strikes. Her power is conductivity, which means she's constantly absorbing electrcity. In contrast her eye is a magical spell limiter, it will be gone into detail more later, but basically with military authorization, or rather a family member at the controls so to speak, they can unleash varrying levels of power, normally they go to two or three, in this case they'll turn it up to five, level it all. Which will be how Isra suffers some side effects. Its more of a end game trump card, but one I'm not sure they'll use again. Or at least no time soon. Even if they have people shut up on it physical evidence will be hard to hide. (not that it ill leave a crater, just that a large scale electrical attack and fires likely)

That eye is the secret of why her eye conicides with the electronics no longer blowing up around her. And the slow realization of what went on there may prove to with their bonds that were forged to almost be smashed to push them to being stronger, which could lead into that other arc Scarlet was planning.

Mind you thats just my thoughts not what will happend. It really depends how many mages they have. If they have mostly, then the force will be small, if its like a splinter faction with lots of normal troops, well derp.

I think I'm going to have it where the amount is different at the locations. I think that there should be a few strong members at each location and then the rest of them be easier mages who are simply part of the cult but of no significance, they just do work for the higher ups. I'm thinking like a smaller amount of people at the location where Isra's team is investigating, a medium amount guarding the monsters and a larger amount holding and housing the members of the group that Lilith's team is going to attack. I'm going to be honest and say I can't come up with any specific numbers but I guess a range could be fine if you guys want something like that. For instance, around like 5-7 stronger members at each place and 30-60 members at each separate location.

@ScarletNova Sounds fair enough to me. We have my silly trump card to play as well. Though is @Sanctus still with us? I Know two of our number are busy with things.

hey, I'm gonna wait till we start the mission before i post. I don't feel I have anything Important to add

Sanctus has been a little busy recently but is still participating in the rp.

I see..well posted, maybe a bit of forshadowing. dun dun dun.

@ScarletNova I had an idea for a character, but I don't know if I should post her just yet. Since I'm unsure, I'll send her bio to you when I'm done with it, or would you prefer to just hear the idea overall? 'Cause I can sort of resume it.

Which ever one you want to do.

She is a "transfer student" at the moment.

Personality:

Vár is a very complicated subject. Ever since uncovered and "stumbled" upon, she has been considered nothing more than a weapon. Obviously, this caused her to see herself as a weapon just as well. At the beginning, Vár was nothing more than a doll with magical power for the Russian Army, specially due to her massive power.

However, upon being saved by Colonel Reznov, she started to develop a very human-like personality. Over the years, she became more and more capable of demonstrating emotions and, in a few years, she had already developed her current personality. Because of this, she greatly loves Reznov as a paternal figure and would go out of her way to aid him in any way possible. Just as him, she is also sad to have to part ways with him.

Currently, though, Vár is an interesting person. She still retained the objective and seriousness when it comes to destroying monsters and anything related to them, but now it turned more to a pleasuring act rather than a life mission. She does it because she thirsts for this pleasure more so than anything of her life. In fact, killing monsters would be considered her main hobby, aside from, of course, torturing them. Over time, she learned to be able to control this thirst and be patient over it. She's not addicted to it, but it does confer her with an unmatchable thrill.

Now, when she's not in the battlefield, though, she's actually a childish, arrogant and prideful girl with a constant need for attention. She, many times, demanded from the people she saved in the battles over St. Petersburg for them to worship her as a god. Even though Reznov attempted to make her stop these acts, it seems like she finds them to be very necessary as a matter of fact. She doesn't seem to enjoy doing anything out of good will and will constantly require a reward for everything she does for anyone. If no reward is fitting, she will instead require them to worship her as the Child of a God.

Deep inside, though, this need for attention is justified because the girl is currently in a fight to find a reason to live. Due to not remembering anything prior to her awakening, she sometimes acts as if she doesn't really fit into this world. Because of this, she has constant mood swings, which tend to happen after she starts to question her existence. These mood swings can actually prove to be a danger, as she either becomes too friendly with nearby people, wanting to justify her existence by creating relationships, or attacks anyone who is attempting to intrude, not finding any answer. These mood swings were much more frequent prior to her being saved by Colonel Reznov and one of them even prompted her to killing an entire group of researches who were at the wrong place, at the wrong time. Now they are less frequent, as Vár constantly justifies her existence by simply remembering the fact that she has her utilities.

Still, she is hardly unfriendly or cold. It is simply hard to approach her unless she has an interest in you. Usually, Vár will take interest in people with strong powers or with any similarities to her. Whenever this happens(depending on how interested she is) she can either become actually pretty warm to the other person, as she can also become nearly a stalker, going as far as harassing people she considers "interesting". This has rarely happened, but Reznov had warned that, if she went to an Academy, it would happen with much more frequency.

When friendly, Vár is an unnatural girl in all aspects of the word "unnatural". She's not girly. As someone who has been living in wars, battlefronts and was constantly fighting something, she finds interest in combat. She's more knowledgeable than most when it comes to Magical Weaponry and Mechanized Vehicles. She even knows how to pilot airplanes, helicopters and other military-grade armory. Because of this, she has not been officially "included" in society and finds most actions to be weird or strange to her sights. However, that also means that she is eager to replicate any act she sees as "cool". Some examples are her constant need to praise anything she considers "dandy", which can be considered an annoyance at times.

In a sense, Vár is a little girl, yet one who has seen a lot more pain and bloodshed than most in academies. She's a social klutz, a stalker at times and a battle maniac who enjoys nothing but to see her main enemies, the monsters, suffering.

Bio:

When the first monsters started to attack, one of the many countries that found themselves engulfed in an actual war was Russia. Due to it's extensive territory and harsh conditions, the Russians found themselves in a battle of attrition against beasts that couldn't be killed through orthodox methods. Part of their projects, though, resulted in transforming the military-controlled archipelago of Franz Josef Land into an academy for magical purposes.

Years after the academy was officially built and training began, a magical artifact was discovered below one of the glaciated islands. When scientists arrived for the first time, they uncovered a secret tunnel that led down to a hidden temple with technology that clearly matched, if not surpassed, theirs. Inside the temple, the Russian scientists found little other than a live specimen under stasis. Upon their arrival, the stasis had released the young-looking girl and also destroyed all the technology inside the temple.

With only the girl remaining, the scientists proceeded to make multiple tests and use her body to experiment secretly. Although no new information could be found, the girl was pretty much human. What the scientists discovered was that her body had multiple "technological" upgrades that made her more sensible to magic than most. In a couple of years, the Russians had built an entire laboratory above the temple in order to study the technology and, mostly, the girl. At first, the scientists planned on removing the technological upgrades and attempt to recreate them, but after the incident on the temple, many of them were afraid that the technology would self-destruct upon being removed from the body. After six months studying the girl, high-command eventually grew desperate enough to send her face-first into the action, forcing the girl to fight against monsters like an animal in pits at first before eventually throwing her into the battlefields. For about six years, this situation continued until the girl eventually lost emotional control and unleashed an extremely powerful wave of energy that vaporized most living beings in the battlefield, including Russian soldiers.

Though high-command planned to punish her for it, Colonel Reznov intervened and saved the girl, promising to take care of her and teach her most of the things she had yet to know. At the time, the girl didn't even had a name. Reznov gave her everything. Reznov was her guardian, her shield. Her light in the darkness. It was because of him that she became "human". That was when Vár Krasniy was born.

After her reassignment, she fought under Reznov's command until now, developing a very close father-daughter relationship with him and growing fond of the old man. After all, ten years fighting together meant a lot.

]These ten years were resumed by going into the thick of battle alongside the Russian Army in order to aid them. This time, she did it because she loved it and not because she was forced like a weapon. Reznov showed her all the pain and destruction that these monsters caused, which caused her to only grow to detest them more and more. Because of this immense hatred, the girl developed a pleasure to kill these creatures in the most painful ways she could imagine. Even though they were humans once, it didn't seem like she cared for it at all.

And it was thanks to her that many battles were actually won in the battlefields of Russia and even some to the north of China, with St. Petersburg's defense operation being the battle that marked her as a legend for the Russian military. For many people, she was considered the Child of a God. Of course, this inflated her ego and caused her to become extremely prideful, though with reason to it.

Now, ten years after fighting alongside Colonel Reznov, the girl has been used as a bargaining chip to acquire English military aid for Russian territory, as they feel that Vár has reached her peak of usefulness. Thanks to her, many of the territory was retaken, but stragglers are always there and that's why Russian High Command wishes more soldiers in order to cover more ground. Since China is already in chaos, they are also moving their troops south in order to attempt a rescue.

The bargain involved bomber airplane strikes in the price of handing the girl over to English Academy. Even though Reznov was against it, it seemed like, this time, his voice carried little weight. As such, the girl is currently under way to Swarovski Academy, with heavy military escorts.

Relationships:

Colonel Reznov:
Reznov is Vár's "father". He's actually a loving paternal figure who aided her whenever she needed and was present to help her with anything she found necessary, because of this, she greatly loves him and will do anything in her hands to aid him in favor.

Power(s):
Technomancy Drive:
Vár can use any piece of metal nearby to summon technological creatures to aid her in combat. These creatures can have heavy weaponry, such as the Turtle Cannon(shown in looks) or no weaponry at all(such as Mecha Wolves). Creating the machines costs a small amount of energy, but after being created they can maintain themselves without feeding on Vár's magic pool. Aside from that, Technomancy Drive also allows Vár to control and manipulate technology to her will. This means she can open electrical doors, create bursts of magic or electricity by overriding fountains of electricity, manage technological weaponry with more ease than most, burn enemy weaponry and many, many other actions.

Technomancy Drive also affects Vár's preferred weapon, the Servos Rocket Launcher.

bb861d04361babf2c39e4620d1983023-d7lwnh6.jpg

It allows Vár to manipulate the magical energy harnessed inside the cylinder of the weapon to change the effects of the each rocket thrown. The rocket launcher requires a long time to wind up the magic cylinder again, though(1 post).

Strenghs:
-=- Tons of damage -=-
-=- Technomancy Drive almost doesn't use magic -=-
-=- SRL can damage multiple enemies or cause massive damage to large enemies -=-
-=- Summons can tank blows for her -=-
-=- Individual Skill -=-

Weaknessess:
-=- Very slow-moving -=-
-=- SRL cannot be used medium range -=-
-=- Summons are weak against technological weaponry -=-
-=- Overconfident -=-

Voice:
Kurumi from Date a Live

Theme Song:
Until The World Goes Cold - Trivium

Extras:
-=- Vár hides her teeth because she fears that it will reveal that she is mostly no longer human -=-
-=- She tends to say that she wears revealing clothes because it is a great way to "distract" your enemies -=-
-=- Vár's rage against monsters seems to be almost instinctive, as she already hated them before meeting Reznov -=-
-=- Vár was "programmed" to be a killing machine. Prior to being rescued by Reznov, she was going to become a puppet controlled by the High Command in an attempt to make her the perfect weapon. In the end, the attempt failed as the chip that was placed in her brain automatically turned off for reasons unknown -=-
-=- Upon further studying Vár's physical structure, the scientists discovered that the "upgrades" made upon her weren't created by humans but couldn't pinpoint their age -=-

I was going to let this go, but Sanctus there are a few huge errors in your post in regards to previous information.

Firstly the whole, quiet skirmishes thing isn't going to work out, when you have two flame users, and a split personality/posession ghost girl. He's ignoring the fact one is scarred shitless "Oh yeah guys guess what we got to kill all the monsters in the area!" The monsters are also in what was referenced as a lab or holding like area, they aren't roaming the countryside. As far as the poor girl knows, they are blowing up crates. They are captured "supplies". And the whole team left the room given the delay and are having a near standoff with each other.

On the 2nd front, they can't take days to observe, a mission given to another team. The mission only includes overnight travel, so it might not even be in the UK, it could be in central europe for all I know. Part of why I didn't name it. And they were given a very limited time (or so it seems) to do the mission. Its not far and its not close, and the recon team was tasked with assassination and given files on the most dangerous of the magic users. The rest of the forces are likely weak or don't have magic at all. Well "weak". And he doesn't seem to understand they are the last response in a manner. Also the Ice Princess he spoke to left the room.

It feels like you just skim read what was missed, I can understand if you are short on time or busy, but if you need a summary to read quickly just ask.

Also interesting bio Yz, will be sure to read it.

Thanks, RAS. Also, technically, Kamiko's "split personality" does have a timer and can be predicted. Each possession lasts exactly 24 hours so she can know when the next one is taking over... =D

Why I said "according to stories" I mean shes calling her ghost girl, which technically is and isn't true. She's not exactly MI.

Can't blame her, though, anyone would be at least slightly scared at her ability. Though since she called her "ghost girl" I think she might troll the two a bit.
