In 2034 a variety of ebola went global. A weaponised strain by religious extremists released globally, this 'Cult of the End' wiped out all but approximately 20% of the human race. Unfortunately, the human race had gone ballistic over this pandemic and decided to attempt to finish the job on their neighbours. Nuclear weapons were unleashed by many of the survivors leaving, in the end, only 0.5% of the human race alive. A lingering population of about forty million.

Over the next century populations recovered, but not by much. Mutants had become rampant, animal or human, and all other manner of horrors rose, humanity struggled. A tribe of survivors from Edinburgh had however found out about a new chance for the future, their home grounds were near stripped bare, plants struggled to grow, animals became scarce and the threat of cannibalism as a way of life encroached once more. But this new chance for the future. A message clutched in the hands of a dying man who had fought his way across the face of the world searching for survivors from any nation with an offer.

The paper it was written on was actually laminated and written in many languages the 'prophet' was expected to encounter in his trip across the world. It promised an intact, healthy, sanctuary for all pure humanity in a nation once called Japan on the island of Hokkaido. Once called Japan, now simply called Eden.

The message promised a future of plenty for the survivors of Europe. There was just one problem. It would take a minimum of half a year to walk there. The precious vehicles had become the tribes sole future. Excepting the most stubborn the tribe invested in packing all its resources into a great convoy. A convoy of vehicles that would cross the channel through the Great Tunnel the prophet had arrived by. And from there. Cross the great breadth of Europe to the promised land!

    A Hope Restored.

But as any survivor could tell you.

A hope restored is ever more painfully dashed. And this trip was the greatest gamble any of them would ever make. And they knew it, heart and soul, not everyone would make it. Probably not even most.

You and your crew are one of the vehicles in the convoy. Doing your part for hope and survival! Will you be a scout on a motorbike, or perhaps in a kitted out Lamborghini? Or a soldier helping fight off raiders in a Muscle Car, Sedan or a truck carrying a gun-trailer? Or maybe you're in charge of a Bus loaded with Hydroponics and other tribe members?

Regardless, you're in control of your vehicle as part of the convoy on its epic trip from Edinburgh to Vladivostok without the benefit of GPS, reliable roads or a nice stable world. You'll be responsible for lives. You'll be responsible for deaths.

You won't be going along mysterious unnamed roads (all the time), no you'll be travelling along what remains of the actual road systems as I keep track of where in the world the convoy is using a complex formula of basic maths and google maps as well as random event generation and dice!

    Rules of Behaviour:
    1. Do not 'Godmode' this will be punished severely! (And if someone has to be warned more than once, with their permanent removal from the RP.)
    2. No Puppeteering, the only characters you have any control over are your own! Any NPC vehicles in the convoy and its crew will listen to advice, but they are not 'controllable'. Feel free to get in contact with me if you want to collaborate out a conversation with any NPCs such as a private conversation.
    3. No OOC drama! If you have an issue feel free to PM me about it. If you have an issue with another player, PM me about it. If you have an issue with me, PM me about it (and then I advise running ;) ) Causing the OOC to devolve into an argument is considered worthy of being dismissed from the RP. (Within reason, if someone makes a child molester for a character, please feel free to abuse within the forums rules :p)
    4. Remember, death is possible! Don't be surprised if/when you lose people! It will happen. Be prepared!
    5. Also note, that approval is required before posting! Once your character is accepted you're good. But give other people a chance to post. Also note that you cannot just move the convoy on. GM posts involve moving things on, combat or long-travel.

Character:

Name: "Le Petite Firebomb" - If she ever had a real name, it's long gone.
Gender: Female
Appearance: Petite is a small, lithe bundle of lean muscle and iron sinew. Body covered in puck-shaped scars from bullet wounds, bubbled skin from burns, and long jagged bands of raised skin from blades, she does not make a pleasant sight. Short red-brown hair hangs in a tight bunch around Petite's ears, set to avoid obscuring her face or giving an enemy a hand hold. Dull brown eyes sit beneath a harsh brow and a hooked nose dominates the woman's face. Thin stretched lips hang above a pointed and equally harsh chin.
Bio: Petite, rather whoever became Petite, was born a fighter. It had been said from the time she could walk, the girl was able to load a rifle. Inheriting a vehicle from her mother upon her death, Petite left her tribe, searching for something. Something more. Something better. Never arriving on this, the woman instead wandered for years, growing more and more distant from human interaction. Becoming part of another tribe out of convenience, Petite has found herself yearning for that same something she left home so many years ago to discover.

Tell me if there's anything I need to edit or change (or if I'm completely off-point!).
.

Nope, you did it perfectly mate. But it does highlight I did not. Fee free to increase your character's stats by another 12. Because 12 looks pretty feeble... :p

Oh, and could you please include your number of crew next to the "Crew: " part.

  • Name: Reggie "RV" Valance
    Gender: Female
Bio: Reggie grew up raised the child of two scavengers whose responsibility was to find food for their small commune. She supposes going out where no one else, driving off and leaving others not knowing whether or not she would even would be seen again was simply in her blood. It offered a lot of freedom, though and that was just the way she liked it. Go figure when her father barely made it back after getting gnashered by some wasteland grifter or another, she inherited the ratty bike.

Not to say it was not a godsend. It served her well as it opened the world to her. Her mother, after the passing of her father, needed a new running mate and took to show her the lays of the street. She taught her the secrets of the rustic roadmarkers (at least what remained of them), how to read the stars, the sun, the layout of the land, and gave her a carefully traced copy of a map for her to follow the area. Of course, there was a itch in her britches and as much as her starving mates might need her, she ached to move. The few caravans that came through spoke of a bigger colonies that had slightly better luck.

It was a plan of hers, then, that she convince her colony (they were few enough) to pack up and travel with the next convoy to whatever city they found. Reggie would come to regret that. On the way there, the convoy was attacked and much of the unarmed were lost. Her unarmed friends and neighbors. They managed to repel the raiders, but they suffered greatly. Of the few townsfolk that remained, most spurned her.

It would be no wonder that when they arrived at Edinburgh and the chance at Eden arrived, so few spit at the idea of following her to a better tomorrow.

Temp, you overspent on firearms, a PDW is 2 points and a pistol 1, you'd need gunnery 3 for both, once that's fixed likely accepted.

  • Name: Jacob 'Zultkop' Stijn
    Gender: Male
    Bio:
Once a member of the 'Tn Cat' tribe in what was once Overijssel of the Netherlands, Jacob Stijn grew up and worked the factory with the others, maintaining and working what machinery remained to craft materials to trade or equip the tribe with but mostly served as a guard and advance emissary to maintain relations with other tribes. He and some others were away from the tribe on a trade errand when their home was attacked and overwhelmed by the scores of muties from the 'Hndoorner' Tribe which a previous generation had driven away but now they had returned with a vengeance and burned down the factory, killing everyone inside but the five who were out on their errand.

With nothing left at home they wandered, salvaging or trading for fuel, supplies and ammo whenever they could. Traveling south until they reached the Great Tunnel, with nowhere else to go and hearing stories of people going in but never coming out had them intrigued and in they went. They quickly realized that they might have gotten themselves into more trouble than they could handle. The great tunnel was eerily empty of wrecks from the days of the Old World and also no sign of those from those that came after, the reason for that becoming evident as the Great Tunnels occupants came out to attack them when they made camp in the tunnel. Two of their number died before they could escape, their route back blocked by the native tribe so all they could was finish going through the tunnel and end up on the old isle.

This didn't stop their wandering as they continued to head north as the tribes they encountered after emerging out of the tunnel could best be described by Jacob as 'silly'. Reaching the old 'Edinburgh' area and settled somewhat there working alongside some of the tribes if they needed a independent messenger and negotiator whose role Jacob and his crew could perform. When the message of Eden spread they decided to join the convoy that was forming.

And see what the future held for them....

Looks good mate. Though beware! I've heard from a couple of my regular birdies that the want to convince you to swap ZOOM JUICE for a Service trailer instead. But sshh, you didn't hear it from me. ;)

(Note: I mean a couple of my regular players, not a GM hint :p)

I thought about taking a second trailer, but the logistics of a vehicle that cumbersome are a bit mind boggling.

.
You mean 'actual' (real life) style logistics or rules logistics? The Service trailer is actually very simple compared to most, just a Heavy Turret and a Service Section. (The service section is the only way to reliably repair and replace vehicles.)

Real life. It feels as though that would add a lot of weight, unless I'm imagining this thing as far larger than it really is.

I stand corrected. The fact that those exist makes me so happy.

And I thought eighteen wheelers were bad to drive with.

  • Name: Katherine "Kate" McCormick
    Gender: Female
Bio: Born to nomad scavengers in the remains of Scotland, Kate has always been on the move. The nomadic tribe served as armed transport for settled tribes, shuttling people and goods back and forth in return for food, fuel and whatever else was offered. Kate herself quickly took after her gifted parents, and turned out to be quite the talent behind the wheel. Indeed, as the years went by it was clear that Kate was one hell of a driver.

Unfortunately it did little to save her family when their tribe was betrayed and attacked by one of the local settled ones. Kate's parents died along with everyone else, save for a pair of siblings she hardly knew that had only recently joined the tribe. Either way, the trio made off with little but Kate's vehicle and the clothes on their skin, seeking fortune elsewhere. Soon enough, they ended up at one of the tribes their own one had done jobs for - the Edinburgh tribe. Since then, they've served as scouts for the tribe, trying (in vain) to find new food sources.

The mysterious message the stranger gave them about Eden was a longshot to say the least, yet arguably more appealing than staying where they were, slowly dying. Kate herself was more than happy to set out. She is a traveler by nature, and the chance to once again take up the vanguard of a convoy was far too enticing to even consider refusing.

Accepted, looks good. Personally i'd say the Charger was a muscle car though. For sports cars it was more Lamborghini's, McLarens, high end Jags etc.
