Ren had been one of the last to leave the classroom, choosing to linger behind for a while and grab his bag rather than rush out with the mess of them -he'd only get crushed at that rate. The girl that had dragged him over to the window in the first place had long since extracted herself from his side and left along with the throng of others. Shooting one last glance at the scene outside the window -there really were buses there, Ren noted rather belatedly- he exited the class as well, and then paused in the hallway. Too many people. There were too many people there, all heading towards the main staircase. It was the shortest route, Ren supposed, but with the amount of people, teachers and students alike, crammed into that small space, getting down to ground level would take far too long. The people that had been on the first level when the announcement was made must be thanking their lucky stars.
Rounding left instead for a far less congested -albeit, slightly longer- route, Ren squashed down a yawn. He was walking quickly -not quite running, but long strides instead. He'd believe in the dead people for the sake of efficiency. If they really did exist, it'd be best if he simply get that pesky doubt out of the way first; if they didn't, and this was just some elaborate prank, well... no harm done trusting in it, anyway, but for a bit of pride. And what was pride in a situation wherein the other option meant confronting with a legion of living dead? Ren would rather not take his chances with that.
Getting out of the school building came first, and then came reuniting with the rest of his family. They could ponder over their situation once they were safely traveling somewhere far, far away.
