Noemie stared incredulously at the petite Asian girl, utterly bemused by her casually cheerful tone. A mysterious voice comes out of invisible speakers all around them, and she just flounces her merry way into the living room? Unable to formulate any appropriate words, Noemie just scoffed, an outraged sound in the back of her throat, and started to follow the crazy girl, because she was clearly crazy, into the living room. Misha's stuttered whisper caught her attention before she fully released his arm, and she turned to arch an eyebrow at him, biting her tongue to keep herself from snapping at him not to mumble. Whatever sort of scheme they all were caught up in, Noemie thought it might be best to have as many allies as possible. Stifling her irritation, she continued to follow Tae, her expression stormy.

The room was ridiculous. It was massive and absolutely flooded with light, and the fact that Noemie would've loved it under normal circumstances was grating on her. What kind of kidnapping was this? Was that a grand piano? There was space for at least ten more of them in the living room alone. Was this some sort of next level airbnb marketing?

But she kept her lips pressed furiously together. This was like some genie nonsense, where the idiot with the lamp wastes all their wishes because they don't know how to word anything properly. She crossed the gigantic room at a possibly unnecessary speed, the stress of the situation spurring her like it was a predator she could escape, and she caught a glimpse of a doorway, and stainless steel appliances beyond it.

"Looks like the kitchen's over here," she said sharply, turning back to face the group. "I think it's safe to say we'll make the ten minute deadline." Though a large part of her wanted to storm into the kitchen, Noemie told herself sternly that there was safety in numbers. The layout of the room made it impossible to see fully into the kitchen without potential attackers also being able to see her, so she hung back, waiting for the rest of the group to catch up as she looked around at the ceilings, trying and failing to spot hidden speakers.

Noemie voiced the question that exploded into her mind in a sudden wave of fear. "If there are hidden speakers… are there hidden cameras?" Clenching her hands into fists, she glared daggers up at the cutouts in the ceiling, the corners of the room, and the decorations scattered throughout. That was probably a dumb question, she realized furiously. After all, how else would the voice -- Jessica -- have known where they all were? Imbécile, she thought to herself, closing her eyes. The idea of being spied on crawled along her skin, and she shivered uncomfortably. What the hell was this?

XiaoLuo Ning

While the woman beside him was worrying about everything, Xiaoluo was taking in every detail in the dining room. It seemed normal enough, as far as one could expect in a mansion anyway. The monochromatic decor and soft hues gave him a calm feeling. At the same time, he couldn’t help but feel as if they were being watched. ’I’m probably overthinking this.’ Recalling the voices from earlier, he quietly tried to listen for them again. Unfortunately, whoever that was had already quieted down.

The woman’s sudden outburst about candy and drugs, startled him out of his thoughts. If it weren’t for how worried she seemed, he would definitely find her sudden explanation rather suspicious. The thought of a delightfully awkward woman like herself trying to drug people brought a smile to his face. If their current situation hadn’t been so serious, there was no doubt he’d end up teasing her. Just a little bit.

Her attempt to pronounce his name came as a surprise to him. He’d never heard anyone struggle to pronounce his name. Sure, it wasn’t an easy name for some foreigners but it couldn’t be that hard either, could it? ”Would Xiao be better? Short enough?” He opened his mouth to sound it out for her when the sudden sound of static made him jump. It was followed by the voice of a cheerful woman that only further added to his confusion. ”Host? Is this some kind of pran-” Upon hearing she would only answer one question of theirs, he shut up and listened to what she had to say.

A large screen came down to reveal both of their faces along with ten others he didn’t know. ”Ah, there are others!” He cried out the obvious. Judging by the fact that their pictures were the only ones which were colored, it was quickly made clear that this was because they were already at the dining room.

The feeling of a hand tightening around his own, brought his attention back to the woman sitting beside him. Part of him felt awkward for holding her hand for so long but at the same time, it was clear she was anxious. As much as he wanted to pull away, he also wanted to alleviate some of that worry. His lips pulled back into a small gentle smile as he returned the squeeze in a subtle attempt to comfort her. ”Don’t worry so much. If these people wanted to harm us, they would have done something by now. Though, from the sounds of it, we’ll be staying here for some time..”

Thinking over the woman’s earlier announcement, Xiaoluo quickly filled his mind with all sorts of questions. These people kidnapped them yet didn’t seem to hold ill intent. If they needed something from them, they definitely had the means to get it without having to go so far. As to what they wanted, Xiaoluo wasn’t sure. ”I’m not sure why they’re doing this but hopefully they will compensate us with more than just living here for free.” Xiao dearly wanted to ask this woman some questions as well and get to know her name but the host’s earlier announcement forced him to put it aside, worried they would count before he could ask something less silly. ”We should probably save questions for this host of ours.” He mumbled, eyes skimming over the black and white portraits of the other ten who seemed to be in the same situation they were in.

Astrid Marques

Astrid was a little surprised to have gotten a sarcastic reply in return. More amused than insulted, she laughed with unconcealed joy. She was relieved that there were others who could still keep their heads on their shoulders in such a strange situation. It seemed that the voice wasn’t the only one that heard her. Two others, a man and a woman, approached them. Astrid had no problem with King introducing them. From a glance, she could tell both of them were as tense as she and had been only moments before.

Not too long after, another figure came into view around the corner that she heard the sarcastic voice echo from earlier, a male. Since King was busy with the other two, Astrid helplessly shook her head and hunched her shoulders in response to the man’s question. No one seemed to have any answers. ”So many mouths to feed. I hope this kitchen is stocked up! Since you’re willing to try my food, I’m totally open for anything you make, Tae. King can be the judge if you ever want to have a friendly competition.” Wanting to help King keep the peace and positive energy flowing, Astrid set any worries aside and joked along with a bright smile on her face, a bundle of positivity.

Some time after wandering around for what seemed like forever, the group finally found what looked to be the living room. As they entered it, Astrid spotted another pair peeking into what appeared to be the dining room. ’What are they looking at?’ She wondered to herself. She was about to call out to them when static interrupted her along with the bright voice of a woman. The woman, Jessica, gave them an objective and filled them with more questions than answers.

The man with the horrible stutter, Misha, brought up an excellent point. They should hold in any questions. It was just unfortunate that Tae already wasted hers. Glancing around at the others, Astrid counted six so far including herself. Then there was that woman from earlier and two more in front of them. Even if a few of them wasted their question, it should be fine, right?

Speaking of the last two, Astrid waved in greeting, trying to get their attention without startling them too much. ”Hello! Looks like we’re all on the same boat. Since we’re all going into the dining room, we should probably save the introductions once everyone is gathered. It’s better than repeating ourselves over and over again. Before you ask and waste a question, I may as well point out that none of us know what’s going on. Let’s go get some answers and some snacks.” She was careful to keep her tone friendly yet casual, hoping they wouldn’t panic and attack her the way she did Tae. The last thing she wanted was more misunderstandings.

Seeing no point in saying anymore, Astrid entered the dining room and spotted two more people sitting down as well as a screen with their images on it. The moment she walked in, she could see her own portrait change light up with color. Underneath it, she saw her sign, Gemini. ”Okay, now that’s freaky.”

Unsettled by the strange development, Astrid waved to the two new faces and wandered into the kitchen. She looked through the cupboards and fridge for some snacks to tide them over until they could actually make something. Since they had less than ten minutes left, she didn’t waste much time and quickly brought back a bag of potato chips and baby carrots in one hand, along with small bowls in the other for those who were too picky to share. She didn’t know what these people had tastes for but if they had a problem with her selection, they were more than free to get something for themselves.

When she returned she set the bowls down on the table and took a seat after getting her own bowl of carrots. "Well, I guess that makes ten of us.” She spoke softly, winding down from the stress her nerves filled her with before. Looking up at the screen once more, she counted twelve faces. It seemed they’d have to wait for their arrival to begin this little show. In the meantime, she munched away on her snack and pondered over what question she would ask.

Though Thomas received no real answer, the pink-haired woman who shrugged at him soothed his nerves a little. There was a bright optimism to her expression, a drastic contrast to Yana, who provoked a shudder from mere thought of her. He decidedly did not check to see if she had followed, and while he would absolutely not say he was afraid of her, he thought it best if he could put some of these much friendlier looking people in between them. Luckily his sight was much better from close up, even without his glasses, and once he was firmly in the middle of the group, Thomas took a moment to glance around and assess.

Three men, himself included, and three women, all with varying skin colours and accents. He was trying to place the pink-haired woman's country of origin when the sound of static flooded the area, followed by a bright flight attendant-esque voice giving them a brief introduction and directive. Irritation tinged with a suppressed bolt of fear flashed through him, and Thomas forced himself to take a few deep breaths. Whatever this was, he was done with it. There was an unquantifiable amount of work piling up on his desk that he needed to return to, and he was not in the mood to be toyed with.

Not that there was anything he could do about it. The helplessness was infuriating.

Somehow, the Asian woman remained cheerful as she led them to the living room, chattering away, wasting her question. Thomas struggled not to roll his eyes, the stress of the situation warring with years of experience having to answer students' inane questions, but he firmly shut his eyes for a moment until the impulse was under control, and then stopped abruptly as he almost ran into one of the other men, who was whispering seemingly to himself. It took a moment to process what he was saying through the stutter and the low volume, but when Thomas understood, he felt the degree of his scowl lessen slightly. "Good to know at least one person here has sense," he muttered, as quietly as the other man.

The women continued to lead them through the living room, where they found another couple and the way to the kitchen. Thomas squinted at the new people, unable to tell from a distance what they looked like, but they were all so close to their goal that he figured it would be easier to wait until they were all settled. Upon reaching the dining room, however, there were two additional people already seated, and what seemed to be a large screen hung from the ceiling. There were two blurry shapes lit up on it that Thomas decided to ignore until he could see. After all, squinting was undignified and would inevitably give him wrinkles. Not that he cared about things like that, he told himself, sitting down next to an empty seat as the pink-haired woman disappeared into the kitchen. His hand came up to massage the bridge of his nose, a futile attempt to dispel his headache, or the accompanying nausea. He took a moment to close his eyes and breathe, which helped the headache slightly. "If anyone has ibuprofen or a pair of glasses to spare, I would greatly appreciate it," he announced dryly, opening his eyes just as the woman returned with two bags and some small bowls that she distributed over the table. He politely muttered his thanks, though his stomach did not seem all that pleased at the idea of eating.

King couldn't help but laugh at Tae's cheerful attitude, they sure were something else. Grinning as he looked around at the group of colorful individuals. They were all from different backgrounds and brought to this place for some odd and unknown reason. What was the reason is what he wanted to know. As if they could hear his thoughts, a voice echoed throughout the giant mansion. It was weirdly cheerful; which didn't sit well with the Club Promoter. Their name was Jessica and she said she was ONE of the hosts. So there were more hosts, watching and listening to them? It was fucking Big Brother! The kidnapped version! Shaking his head as everyone else spoke and started walking towards the Dining Room. Where they had all been told to go. "I agree with Misha, no one ask anything until we've discussed it first." He wasn't trying to be the Leader or the level headed one right now; it just came naturally. Apparently, Tae hadn't heard him or Misha. As they asked a question. Hopefully since it was asked towards the group, it wouldn't count for the total questions they could ask as a whole.

Hearing Noemie ask if there were hidden cameras, another question he hoped didn't count towards their total. "I wouldn't put it past them. If this is Big Brother like I think it is... then there's cameras, speakers all of that surveillance shit they have on that show. Probably all over this place; in the walls. In the ceilings... in toilets." That last part was more of a joke but who knows what these psychos were capable of? "For now, let's just all make our way to the Dining Room and meet everyone. There's strength in numbers." Giving a comical salute, trying to keep the atmosphere as friendly as possible. Before long. Kingston noticed a dark skinned female and a disheveled looking male right outside the Dining Room. Eyebrows rising in confusion. "You two good? Pretty sure we are all in the same boat. Might want to join us in the dining room." Shrugging as he followed behind Astrid and the new guy, Thomas.

Once he walked in, Kingston looked up and saw a picture of himself. It lit up and then his sign "Aries" appeared under it. "Awesome." The only one not freaked out about the entire special effect. "Damn, I look good." Admiring himself for a bit, before noticing a blonde woman and an asian male behind him. "Oh, hey guys." He didn't have much to say for now, waiting for everyone else to show up. Once Astrid came back with snacks, King nearly ran to the bag of potato chips. "Finally, food!" Opening the potato chip bag and pouring some in one of the bowls Astrid had distributed around the table in the dining room. "Astrid, you're the best." Giving her a friendly/flirty wink.

Once he got his bowl of chips, Kingston took a seat next to Thomas. Patting the male on the back. "Man, I wish I could help you out. But I have no pills or glasses for you. Also... I think you just used your question too, Tommy Boy." Chowing down on his chips as he waited for everyone else to show up.

Yana Volkov
Without another word, Yana followed the man with a huff. He was as boring as a grey stool, attractive on the outside but horribly uncomfortable on the inside. Upon turning the corner, her vision was filled with a group of people, more than what she had been expecting. She already disliked all of them, and realized that she would have to get used to having headaches. They all looked loud, obnoxious, exactly the type of people she would never hang out with in public or otherwise.

The abrupt sound of static made her pause in her tracks, her eyes widening a fraction as the voice of a women filtered through the room. She vaguely searched for any speakers or speakers, but found that there were none; at least none that were visible. She frowned, crossing her arms over her chest as she listened. It definitely wasn't a retreat, but... What could it be?

By the time the woman finished talking, Yana had already gone through the five stages of grief. She figured that there was no way any of this was a prank, nor that she would be able to go home any time soon. It all seemed too real and it made her uncomfortable like no other. The woman was talking about sleeping and cooking arrangements, which meant that she was going to be there for a while. Whoever was the leader of this obviously had a shit ton of money and were patient, and knew how to get what they wanted.

With a soft shake of her head, she avoided thinking about anything else as she followed the group through the rest of the house. They found the dining area soon enough, and as soon as she stepped into the room, her picture lit up. Not only was it a bit creepy that they had her picture, they had everyone's picture as well. It was too personal for her, causing her to quickly exit the room. She couldn't stand to be in there. Leaning against a wall, she ran a hand down her face. Yana was shaking, her breaths coming out harsh.

She would go back into the room, eventually. It would take her a minute or two to catch her breath and calm herself down.

”Welcome everyone. First of all, thank you for gathering here on such a short notice. My name is David. Together with Jessica we will be giving you the most needed information,” a male voice sounded over the speakers. Calmer than Jessica’s, but still very charismatic. This time only the speakers in the diner room were active though. “First of all, let’s answer some of the questions you all had. Let’s start with Aquarius. Jessica, how many more people do we think there are?” On the board all pictures turned to black and white photographs again, except for Tae-Hyuns pictures that stayed bright colorful.

There was a soft chuckle from their female host. “Well, as you can see there is a total of twelve people. We won’t be adding any people.” The pictures went black and white again, before Pisces lightened up. “Pisces spoken so much and so wise, but no question came from him. Too bad. Let’s move on. Aries. How ironic to tell people not to ask anything and yet… wasting your own question. You two good? That is not a question we can answer, but hey, they are still breathing so they are good, right David?” The voice enthusiastic as ever as she gave the words back to the male.

The male chuckled. “Indeed, Jessica. They are good. So, Taurus. We have heard nothing there either. This is gonna be an easy game of answering questions. Gemini also had no question so we are at Cancer now. Are you all not curious? Well apparently not. Too bad this was your only chance of getting some real honest answers. Leo… Where is Leo?” The voice fell silent when there seemed to be only eleven people in the diner room. “Virgo then? No, that is no good either. You are all really boring…”

The woman took back over. “Next up Libra, she had a question if I am not wrong. A very good one even. What the hell is all this? Oh, we would like to answer that. And we will, but first let’s check if there are more questions. Scorpio asked if there are hidden cameras. The answer is yes. Obviously. We will be watching your every move.” She giggled a bit. Not even the showers were safe from cameras. The toilets however were. No one wanted to see pooping or peeing people, right? “Sagittarius stayed silent as well and last but not least, Capricorn. Was it a question? Not really, right? More a request. But still we will answer to it. Do you see the little cabinet in the corner? Please open the first left drawer. You will find your glasses there.” They could be very generous and there was no fun in letting their people run around half blind. #GiveTheProfGlasses had been trending for a while.

“So, now let’s circle back to the question that came from Libra. What the hell is all this? Well, this, my dear participants, is Surprise Island!” There was a clapping sound and very excited sound, that no doubt came from their female host. “I am sure most of you have heard of it. The last Surprise Island was five years ago. Most of you must be old enough to remember seeing it. However will all the social media, this series is gonna be amazing! With viewers all over the world live watching and commenting via Facebook, twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and what all not.”[/color]

“Isn’t that fun?! You are part of the biggest and most intense reality tv show ever. Yet to honor the five year hiatus we had, some things have been changed. But that is all not important. Shall we go over the rules?” The board changed as their pictures disappeared and the rules were shown as they were mentioned. “First and foremost, there is no internet access over the whole island. Some of you may have noticed that already. This is to make sure you cannot be influencing the results. Second rule is that you all have your own phone. With this phone we can keep you updated on challenges and you can contact each other. Contacting anyone else is not possible. Rule number three, as long as you have credits, you can get anything you want from the store. There is a store app on your phone, you can select the things you want to have and they will be delivered within 24 hours.”

“The fourth rule is a curfew. You are not allowed outside of the mansion after 10 pm. You are not allowed to leave the bedroom between 12 and 6 in the morning. We will get to the bedroom arrangement later on,” the male voice took back over, “other than that you are free to roam around the whole island and use whatever wanted within the mansion and outside. Last rule is that food and cleaning it your own responsibility. We will do the repairs when necessary, and when we have a chance to do them. Yet keeping yourselves alive and healthy is not up to us. Not that many rules, right? Perhaps there are more hidden along the game. Now… I am sure you all are very excited to hear about the bedroom arrangements. Shall we tell them, Jessica?”

The woman giggled excited. “Right, the bedrooms. The mansion has six bedrooms, which means that you will have to share your room. To make sure this all will go without any problem, we already made the couples and divided the rooms among the twelve of you. Every bedroom door has two little icons that will indicate whose room it is. The first room, directly above the kitchen, belongs to Leo and Aries. The second room across shall be the place for Virgo and Capricorn. The Third room is just above your head and belongs to Gemini and Sagittarius.” On the board the room number and the right icon appeared. This time without any pictures.

“The fourth room is next to the second room and available for Aquarius and Cancer. The fifth room is up the other flight of stairs. It will be the first door on the left. This bedroom shall be used by Libra and Pisces. Last but not least is the sixth room, next to the fifth room. This will be the room for Taurus and Scorpio,” the male ended the announcement about the room arrangement. For a moment they kept silent, though they were far from done with their explanation. They just gave some time for all this information to settle. For the different roommates to find each other or not, as they had only mentioned their zodiac signs.

“So, anyway, knowing your roommate is very important, because that will be your partner for the whole stay here,” Jessica started to explain further. “We have mentioned challenges and credits earlier on and we will explain some more on that now. Credits are the currency that you can use to buy and get stuff here, for yourself or others, together as a group or as a couple. Whatever you want. There is an app on your phone that give you the overview of your current credits. You can keep that private or donate them to the jackpot. The jackpot is nothing more than your joined account and can be added to and taken from by each and everyone from the group. Once you have credits added to the jackpot, you can not take them back. They can only be spent on stuff. To spend credits from the jackpot, you will need the permission of at least three other people. I hope that all makes sense?” They were given some time to look at the app and their credits on the phone. Each of them had the same starting amount of exactly 1000 credits.

“There are several ways to get credits. The first and easiest way is being tagged on social media by your viewers. Each tag is one credit. The tags will be counted and the credits will be uploaded at exactly midnight. So after the curfew starts. The second way to get credits is by completing challenges. We will tell you all about that later on. The amount you will receive is mentioned as a reward for completing a challenge. The third way, which is also quite easy, but perhaps a bit less accessable at first. Or maybe now. Who knows. The third way is by fanservice. A make out session will give all participants 100 credits. Oral sex will give 250 credits to the giver and 150 credits to the receiver. Penetrative sex will give all participant 500 credits. These will all be personally uploaded to your credit account, within an hour after the act.”

“My, my, easy way to get some money, right? So Challenges… Please everyone keep on paying attention. This is all very important. These challenges can come to you in many many forms. We can send you a message or we can challenge you like this over the speakers or find a different way to communicate with you. Challenges can come from your own fans, from your haters, from us, from anyone in general. Challenges can be anything. They can be personal, or for a couple, or for all of you together. Rewards can be and will most likely be credits. If it was a personal or couple challenge the credits will be added to your own account. If it was a group challenge, the credits will be added to the jackpot. Challenges that are failed can have consequences, but you will be informed of this. Challenges can however not be declined. If you decide not to fulfill a challenge, this will automatically be seen as a failed challenge. So be careful. And most of all have fun!” The woman laughed softly.

“I think that was everything we had to mention for now. So like Jessica said, have fun and enjoy the island and the mansion,” the male said. Though there was a gasp from the female. “We forgot to tell them about the poison!” Her voice sounded a bit from the background, as if they were really ready to cut off the audio. “Oh right… Well, they figure it out soon enough,” the male answered. The female made a soft protesting sound. “We should tell them,” she insisted. Yet the speakers turned off fully after those words. This was enough for them to take in now.

Sophia Vink
Sophia was looking over the many pictures. The Asian quickly brought her back to the hear and now as he squeezed her hand back. Oh right. She bit her lower lip a bit, normally she would have let go, but right now… she held on for dear life. This was way too much out of her comfort zone. She could handle one stranger. A very friendly stranger. And very hot one. But eleven strangers. That was way too much. She looked at him with big eyes and nodded her head a bit. Her voice wouldn’t work with her at all anymore. His name already forgotten. At this rate she would forget her own name even! The more people that came in the more uncomfortable she got. The diner room that had seemed so big was so small now. Even though she could have known they were not the only ones here. Twelve chairs… That should have been a dead give away. She looked up at the people entering. All of them seeming to be from different walks of life.

Some of them calmer and she immediately made note of that. Some big and intimidating, even if they perhaps did not mean to be. Some, already overly annoying and present. She highly disliked that kind of people. Though at the moment she was so out of balance, anything could push her over the edge. Every noise too loud, too annoying, too much. Sophia looked at the little bowl that was suddenly put down in front of her. Her eyes shooting up to the person attached to the hand putting it down. Female, pink hair. Yet she didn’t have the time to take her in more as another person spoke with a general request for glasses. Some answered. Or several answered. One of the girls got up and left again. She leaned back in her chair and clung to that hand. Even if the Hot Asian was a stranger like all the others, he was most familiar among them. So she sought refugee in that. He was sweet and calm and logical. Not overly emotion, or energetic.

“Aha,” the lawstudent made a soft shocked sound as a male voice sounded over the speakers and welcomed them. Not many questions had been asked yet. Or was their chance to get honest answers over? She had no idea, it didn’t matter she had wasted her question. Or perhaps not. She frowned a bit as they decided to skip over her very subtle question. Nice first impression. Her eyes wandered a bit over the other people again, before the rooming situation was explained. Pisces. Who was Pisces? Wait, had that not been the Hot Asian next to her? Sophia wasn’t sure though and she didn’t want to get her hopes up too much. Though he was still a stranger. A very grabby stranger as she certainly had not forgotten the way he had picked her up from the counter. However he had apologized for that, but still. She looked at him, sitting there in the bathrobe. “You are Pisces, right?” She couldn’t help but to ask him softly, carefully.

More information followed about challenges. This really was a lot to take in. Good thing the rules had not been too difficult. Curfew seemed to be the most important. The rest were more circumstances than rules. Challenges and credits. Her eyes widened a bit when it was mentioned they could get credits through sexual acts. That was just prostitution! Sophia looked around, and it didn’t seem like she was the only one reacting to that. Or different parts. All of this was still so surreal. How had they be gotten part of some freaky live show? How long was this even gonna last? She swallowed as she hardly even followed the last part about some poison. It was probably just them joking around. They couldn’t be serious about that. Then again these people had abducted 12 people and made it into some social media hype… “I need to get some air,” she said as she got up. Still holding onto the hand so she softly tugged on him. “Oh… I am sorry,” she said as that red blush came back on her cheeks and she quickly let go. Maybe just getting a stiff drink would be even better than fresh air.

Tae-Hyun Cha
Their little group was growing and growing, with more people coming from all sides of the house, or rather mansion. Tae was tempted to make some jokes, but the tension all around them made them keep their mouth shut. So they busied themselves with looking at the overly rich décor of the place they were at. They had no friends that could ever pay for this or would play a prank like this. It didn’t take long for the whole group to have made it to the diner room. They were complete within a few moment later it seemed as those speakers came back alive with a different voice this time. Their questions were answered and okay, perhaps they had wasted their chance of asking a good question, but what did it matter? They seemed to be giving a lot of information anyway.

A lot of information indeed! So much Tae-hyun had a hard time keeping up with everything that was being said. “OOH I know that series! Wait, does that mean all those other people had been abducted before? Just like us?” They were simply thinking out loud now. They grabbed a little bowl with some chips and walked through the place. They had a difficult time sitting still and staying in place, definitely with so much going on and happening and new people. The rules were mentioned. Luckily not many, but still they weren’t able to keep up. Phones were mentioned as they couldn’t help but to look at their own phone. Was that why everything had looked different? Their music was still on there and worked. So that was not too bad.

Their zodiac sign was mentioned again in combination with Cancer. Who was Cancer? They looked around to find the one they would be sharing a room with. Sharing rooms was fun! They always liked having sleepovers. Though it could also be a bit awkward, not everyone knew how to deal with them being genderfluid. Not everyone approved of it either. So they hoped all this people would be open minded. The part about the poison was completely going over their heads as they were trying to figure out who Cancer was. “Is your zodiac Cancer?” They asked randomly to the person closest to them. What did it matter. They were way too excited to figure out what their room would look like! “Come on, let’s go have a look at our room!” They grabbed the person they had just been talking to, not much caring for whether they were or weren’t Cancer. If a schedule or so was made for the cleaning and cooking they were sure it would be told to them at some point. All of them would have to pull their weight right. “I really hope you are not someone that snores!” They chuckled.

Misha’s eyes had quickly taken in the male that had almost bumped into him, and complimented his sanity. This man seemed calm, collected, intelligent. He gave a soft nod as he did not wish to speak with this awful stutter. Perhaps not all of these strangers were bad, but still… the idea that they would run into more strangers made him nervous. Even more nervous. He had not even be aware that a person could be this nervous. Could you die from the nerves? Like a heart attack or something? He was sure he had read something like that. But those chances were small, right? Then again getting abducted and ending up in a mansion like this with strangers was also a very small chance. Misha took a deep breath and concentrated on calming himself as he followed the group to the diner room, where Astrid provided them with some snacks for now.

The silent male stayed in the corner of the room. Almost as if he was trying to become one with the corner. His eyes fixed on the screen with their pictures. Very recent pictures. And names. No, their zodiac signs? That was weird. He studied it though as he tried to memorize it all, before the screen changed and singled them out one by one along with the question they had or had not asked. Did this mean they had wasted their chance for questions anyway? Apparently so. He didn’t even feel offended when he was called out for being boring, or technically all of them were. The fact they wouldn’t be adding any more people than this was rather… Not that as not calming him down at all. Nothing in this situation would be able to calm him down really. Capricorn, that was the male with some intelligence. He looked at the little cabinet that was next to him. First left drawer right? He pulled it open and indeed there were some glasses. Or at least a case that people usually had glasses in. He took it out and handed it towards the male. “H-he-here yo-you go,” he spoke. Even falling over those three little words.

The Voices kept going, one after another, now going back to the libra question. A real life show? They were part… Worldwide? He could slowly feel himself becoming paler and paler with the second. He grabbed the chair next to the male he had just handed his glasses and went to sit down. This could not be happening. This had to be some kind of weird dream! How did he even get these ideas? He had not watched any weird movies lately. Still despite his internal stress he looked up again when rules were mentioned. Rules were important. So he forced himself to pay attention again. No internet, keep the phone, use the credits and curfew. Not any rules. Very weird rules as well. Though any upcoming questions were quickly answered again when the rooming situation was explained. Not that it helped with the nerves. He looked around. None of these people he wanted to share a room with! It didn’t seem he had much of a choice though as they kept on pairing them off. Second room. With Capricorn. He looked back at the male from before. Okay. That could have been much, much worse. He tried to give the male a small polite and friendly smile. “Lo-looks li-like we will be s-s-sleeping together,” he said. Poor choice of words again. Something he realized seconds after as a blush occurred on his cheeks. “I-I-I-I mean sh-sharing a ro-room. Not sl-sle-slee-sex.” The shorter word coming over far easier, though it hardly helped with the deep dark blush that spread on further. He was good at ruining his first impressions, or second impressions in this case.

So much was explained at once as now the Voices were talking about making out and sex as well in order to get credits. He looked at the table as that blush didn’t seem to let up at all. He was still a virgin, in all possible ways. So he’d never do that! Luckily that was not the only way to get credits. He took some deep breaths again as the challenges were mentioned. He hoped it were puzzles and riddles, he was good at those. If it were physical challenges, that was gonna be a big problem. Hopefully the punishments would not be too harsh. You couldn’t lose credits you didn’t have to start with, right? “P-p-poison?! What do you mean with poison!” His eyes had widened and in his panic his stutter seemed to have disappeared for once. He had pushed himself off, the chair tilting, but falling back on all four legs. He looked around with scared panic eyes. What did they mean with poison? They couldn’t randomly be poisoning people! Then again you couldn’t really just abduct twelve people and they had done that too. “Wha-wa-what do yo-you think th-they me-ment with p-poi-poi-poi-…” He didn’t get the word out of his mouth even. ”They-they ca-an’t really be poi-poi-poisoning us, right?”

The kitchen and dining room were just as over the top fancy as the rest of the house, Noemie observed, her mood caustic. When she’d stepped over the threshold, the big screen was the first thing she had noticed, specifically a photo of her lighting up with the word “Scorpio” written above it. What did that mean? She scanned the rest of the words. Was this some sort of horoscope reference? Sitting down in a chair at random, she took the opportunity to study the faces and their associated zodiac, just like a play bill, trying to memorise the cast. Leo had left just as quickly as she entered, seemingly overcome at the sight of her photo, not that Noemie could really blame her. She overheard Aries give himself a compliment, and she rolled her eyes. American men. Typical. Gemini brought bowls, chips and carrots from the kitchen, and Noemie immediately refocused, smiling broadly at the pink-haired woman as she poured herself a bowl of chips. Yes, the carrots would be healthier, but she felt she deserved these chips, having to deal with the current insanity.

The speakers came to life once again, and a man’s voice poured in, though he was soon joined by Jessica, answering their questions one by one. Straightening up in her seat, Noemie concentrated on their answers harder than she'd ever concentrated in school, mind racing. Her suspicion was confirmed; there were hidden cameras. And not only were Jessica and David watching them, but they were on a reality tv show, one that Noemie recognized with a sick feeling of dread. The last time it had aired, she'd spent many drunk nights with her company laughing and speculating about the participants. The idea of being on the other end of the screen was…

Well, actually, it was a little bit awesome, wasn't it? Millions of viewers? Competing with only eleven other participants for attention? Noemie stifled a laugh, which she suspected would have been slightly hysterical, but she couldn't suppress the smile that was curving her lips.

When they moved on to the room arrangements, she paid close attention, and of course she was in the last room to be mentioned, with Taurus. Noemie remembered Taurus from the earlier screen—stunningly pretty, incredible make-up. Perfect. Regardless of whether they got along or hated each other, they would make an excellent tv pair. The hosts were talking about credits, now, and Noemie felt her smile dissolve into a frown at the mention of "fanservice." That seemed a bit… shameless. And the idea of the challenges was somewhat worrisome.

And what was this about poison? Noemie dropped the chip she was holding, making a strangled, squeaking noise as the speakers cut out. Libra stood, Aquarius started chattering, and Misha, predictably, began freaking out about the poison. Somehow, his panic helped alleviate some of hers. "Don't worry, Meesh," she said loudly, trying to cut into his stammering. "Kingston has been eating since we sat down, and he's fine." She gestured vaguely at the somehow-still-at-ease man with a wry smile. “And if they haven’t poisoned her yet, I don’t think you have anything to worry about,” she added, with a meaningful look at Tae, who was attempting to drag off someone seemingly at random.

Anyway, Noemie thought it would be a good time to meet her roommate. Turning her gaze to Taurus, she stood, eagerly abandoning the food despite her earlier words, and walked over to her. Bonjour,” she greeted amiably, holding out her hand to shake. "I'm Noemie, your roommate."

While eating his chips, Kingston listened to the announcements from the faceless voices. Too focused on his food to listen to everyone else around him. Once the voices of Jessica and David spoke up, he put the bowl down on the table. This was important and he wanted to make sure he got every word they said. When they spoke of his zodiac sign, The Aries male gave an annoyed sigh. They really used his "question" to the other people in the house against him. "Wow, that's some shit." Grabbing his chips once again. He wasn't someone that liked to be played with like that; and these bastards had just tricked him. He listened to everything else they spoke of. Barely caring, until the roommate situation came up. "So you're gonna put an Aries and a Leo in the same room?" That would be one wild ride and he bet Jessica and David were hoping for some drama between him and his roomie. Shaking his head, these guys were good. If it wasn't him in the situation, he'd be truly impressed.

Surprise Island was a show he had watched a few years back with his buddies; they even bet if he was ever on the show, he'd win. Now he was actually on the damn show. It wouldn't surprise him if this entire show had picked him and the other eleven contestants for more than just because of their zodiac signs. They probably all had more in common than they knew. That's how these shows worked... he was on to them. Or at least, Kingston thought he was. When Jessica and David talked about challenges, King was all for it. A competitive person by nature, he'd get enough credit to buy a boat and get the fuck off this islands. Wait, did they have boats on the shopping app? Either way, he'd get the most credits and win this shit if he had to.

When they talked about fan service, Kingston had to give a smirk. "So, you're gonna pimp us out for views?" Shaking his head. This was like when the clubs had him promote girls who weren't even going to the club that night. Using their pictures and sexy poses, just to get men to come and women would come because they knew men would be there for the women... who weren't even coming. Easy money when the men had to settle for the girls that were there already. This reality tv show was nothing more than some porn game show. That wouldn't stop Kingston from trying to win. Ready to show it all off if it meant more credits and more wins for him. Besides, there were some hot guys and girls around. It wasn't like it would be too difficult to get that five hundred or more credits in a few days of charming the literal pants off one of them.

The large grin on King's face, finally turned into confusion when the word poison came from Jessica's voice and then the speakers went off. Looking down at the half empty bowl of chips. Dropping it on the floor and standing up. "What the fuck...?" Dusting off his shirt and hands. Poison?! They were joking, they had to be... right? As everyone else was doing their own thing, Kingston looked over at Astrid and then watched as Tae dragged some poor soul off to their room. Before he could react to the news of there being poison, Misha stood up in a panic. As if he had eaten something in this house or drunk anything. "Why the hell are you freaking out? You weren't the one shoving your face full with chips from this house of lies..." Showing a much angrier side to the charming and at ease personality he had just a few moments ago.

Trying to compose himself once again, he looked over to Noemie and gave a reassured smirk to her sarcastic words. At least she appeared on the outside to not fear being poisoned. He had to get his head back in the game. That was probably just some sick joke to get in their heads. ~Come on, Kingston. Don't let them play you like that.~ He thought in his head. Looking at Misha. "I'm sorry for getting mad at you. Just stay calm buddy and... don't eat anything until we find out what this poison is all about." Giving that charming smile of his towards the panicking male. It wouldn't do anyone any good if he was also in a panic. This group needed a Leader and King volunteered to be that Leader. Even if no one asked him too. "Let's just find our rooms and roomies. Then go from there." Speaking to no one in particular. Where was Leo anyway? Looking up at the black and white picture. She was the one that had ran out of the room... great.

Expecting to find her in their room or something, Kingston left the dining room and found her resting against the wall of the dining room. Use to being the reassuring and calming force in a stressful situation, King took the friendly and careful approach. He had plenty of Leo friends and has dated Leos before; he knew not to get in their space when they were going through something stressful. "Hey. I'm Kingston. I don't know if you heard but we're roomies." Scratching the back of his head. "An Aries and a Leo in one room; sounds like a bad joke." Trying to lighten the mood as much as he could. "What's your name? Unless you want me to call you Leo from here on out?" Grinning, showing off his perfectly white teeth.

Everything was happening a bit too fast from the usually calm and sophisticated young woman. Amara English was not in the mood for these childish games and these bastards would hear from her lawyers. Not bothering to speak to anyone as the voices of a man named David and a woman named Jessica came on the speakers in the dining room. Standing against the wall and just scanning the faces of the eleven other people in the room with her. Well ten, as one person decided to skip the little production in front of them. Amara should have done the same, honestly. Instead though, she listened to the voices speak. This entire thing was stupid in her opinion. The only question she did have though; when the fuck was she going home? Though they skipped right over her. She'd just ask another time. Or find someway to get off this hell hole of an island.

Hearing the name Surprise Island rung a few bells in her beautiful head. Amara had watched this show a few times with her ex-boyfriend. He loved this show and was obsessed with it, to the point whenever it came on nothing else mattered. Including her. This showed ruined her relationship and now it was ruining her life. Wonderful! Fixing her jacket around her shoulders. Getting a little cold, despite being on a island. The mansion's air conditioner was still blowing it's cold air on them all. The cold only fueled her spite and annoyance; she get out of here soon enough.

Amara almost threw up when the talk of fan service came up. How dare they even suggest she'd be on camera doing anything sexual. Did she look like a fucking Kardashian? Shaking her head in disgust. Ready to tear this house a part. Unfortunately she had just gotten her nails done the day before; so no ripping shit a part right now. Fan service? Blowing someone or having sex for credits? What kind of lady did they think she was? This show had some nerves to even THINK Amara would do something like that in front of an audience. She was raised with class and to never show her ass in public.

While the voices spoke about fan service and tags and whatever else, Amara thought about the roomie situation. Scorpio was across the room from her. The girl looked decent enough; at least she wasn't rooming with some creepy boy. That was not going to happen, reality tv show or not. Her attention was abruptly brought back when she heard Jessica speak about... poison?! Her eyes shot up to the speakers and her throat seeming to tighten as she realized what they had just said. "P... p... poison!" Adopting a stutter of her own for a moment. "Excuse me?!" Stepping away from the wall, eyes as wide as saucers.

Almost ignoring the Scorpio as she introduced herself as Noemie. French accent and all. Amara blinked a few times before taking her eyes off the speakers and onto Noemie. Her face was still in a confused state. "Ummm, why the hell are you soo calm?" Brushing past the girl's hand. "Excuse me! But what are you talking about, poison?!" Yelling into the air, her heels clacking against the floor of the dining room. "This is not legal! You can't speak about poison and then go away like that! I will sue your asses so fucking fast!"

The thump of a hand on his back did absolutely nothing for his headache, but Thomas weathered the friendly gesture from the happy stranger in silence. "Man, I wish I could help you out. But I have no pills or glasses for you. Also... I think you just used your question too, Tommy Boy." The casual use of the nickname froze the air in his lungs, and he swallowed reflexively.

"My name is Thomas," he corrected, the words stiff, his teeth clenched. Perhaps it was a product of spending all of his time amongst his students and colleagues, being addressed almost exclusively by his surname, that the unexpected nickname rattled him as much as it did, but he only had a brief moment to pull himself together before disembodied voices began speaking again. He listened silently, his fingers itching for a pen and pad to take notes, as they began answering questions. Were these voices addressing them by their zodiac? As the voices commented on the lack of questions, Thomas desperately grasped at his shallow reservoir of astrology knowledge to try and remember what his own zodiac sign was, simultaneously thinking how utterly absurd this was.

Luckily for him, Jessica answered his request, calling him Capricorn. That seemed right. Or, at least, it seemed vaguely familiar. He had a faint memory of a student reading him a horoscope a few years back. “H-he-here yo-you go.” Thomas looked up at the stuttering voice, then down at the offered object, picking it up gingerly and noting with relief that it was a glasses case.

"Thank you," he said gratefully, opening the case and slipping the glasses onto his face, the world coming into sharp, comforting clarity. Even the headache seemed to ease slightly, his shoulders losing a modicum of their tension, and Thomas took a moment to blink a few times and take in the finer details of the people around him.

The voices from the speaker continued, explaining their situation. Surprise Island? Thomas remembered his students couldn't stop talking about it, but he'd never watched it himself. How long would this run? Didn't they require his consent? His scowl reappeared at the thought of all the work he would be missing, and it darkened at the idea that his students would be able to watch. This was not ideal. He tried to pay attention to the rules, which all seemed straight-forward, and he groaned inwardly when he realized the room assignments were being read by zodiac sign. What was he? Capricorn? Had they already said Capricorn? They had, but he supposed it didn't really matter. He didn't know anyone else's zodiac sign anyway. The man who'd given him his glasses, the one with the stutter, was smiling nervously at him. “Lo-looks li-like we will be s-s-sleeping together.”

Thomas's eyes widened. "I beg your pardon," he said, his voice slightly higher than normal. Was he trying to imply something? What a brazen assumption. He was chagrined to notice his cheeks were warm, and he turned his head to glare at the large screen in an attempt to hide his blush.

The man seemed to realize his error, however, redness blooming on his face as well, and he stutteringly corrected himself. Ah. Just a misunderstanding, then. Unable to think of an appropriate response, Thomas settled for nodding stiffly, unwilling to look him in the eye until the minor shock subsided. The voices had moved on to the subject of credits, and how to acquire them, whether by fanservice or challenges. Typical reality show nonsense, he imagined with distaste. They went silent after a brief, slightly muffled discussion about poison. Thomas eyed the food the pink-haired woman had brought and wondered if the poison would be painless, resisting the crazed urge to eat all the baby carrots. He stared down the little orange vegetables as the rest of the group erupted into various reactions. There must be alcohol somewhere in this mansion. A nice Scotch, perhaps, though if he was being honest with himself he'd even take a cheap beer, anything to make the world seem a little less upside down.

Reluctantly, Thomas tuned back in to the conversations going on around him. Though a drink was tempting, he was not feeling up to getting up and exploring just yet, and exhaustion made itself abruptly known, dragging at the frayed ends of his thoughts. This, he supposed, was what one gets after putting off sleep in favour of research for nights on end. Kidnapping, strangers, and poison. “We know nothing about this poison, if it even exists," he remarked tiredly, tacitly agreeing with the confident man next to him. "There's no benefit to losing the plot over it. All we can do is wait for more information and then react accordingly." Turning to the man who'd given him his glasses, he added, "And I'm Thomas Morgan, by the way. I'm sorry; I don't think I caught your name."

Astrid Marques

Astrid returned King's wink with a playful one of her own. "It's not a full course meal but it's something." As she munched away at her carrots, Astrid turned her attention back to the screen and compared the faces at the table with the faces on the screen, checking off Tae and King since she remembered theirs easily. The rest would take some time to learn. Speaking of which, Astrid recalled the voices they heard and that they were going to answer their questions. "We should discuss our-"

She was instantly interrupted by the sound of the speakers coming back to life. Their host, Jessica seemed to have brought along a friend named David to welcome them. They began by answering questions others had already voiced, thus cutting off whatever important questions the rest had. "No mames! Son unas mamadas." Although she complained, Astrid listened attentively as they continued to answer questions. All she got from the explanation was that this was some kind of tv show. The fine hairs on the nape of her neck stood on end when she recalled them mentioning that there were cameras all over the place. Her face felt heated when she thought back to how she almost killed someone. They wouldn't arrest her for assault, would they? Was this kind of show even legal?

The host duo continued to explain all they wanted to explain. There was so much being thrown at her at once, Astrid wasn't sure what to make of it all. Soon enough, they brought up their rooms. Part of her wished they had allowed them to choose their own rooms but at the same time, it didn't matter. None of them knew one another anyway. Hearing the host duo pause, Astrid looked around at the rest, trying to attach faces to signs that showed on the board before. She couldn't quite remember who Sagittarius was, however. "Who is Sagittarius?" She asked out loud, searching for her roommate.

The speakers came back to life soon after, further explaining the credit system and how to get them. It seemed simple enough. Just your average tv show with challenges and stuff. She hoped her partner wouldn't hold her back too much. As if they could read her mind, the hosts casually brought up fan service. Cringing at the very thought, Astrid held onto her rosary and prayed that it wouldn't have to come to that. She was certain none of the people here were prostitutes. None of them looked the part anyway. Thinking along the lines of actual sex, Astrid wondered if birth control was available for those who felt it wise. Astrid for one, didn't believe in birth control. If possible, she hoped to remain abstinent for her entire stay here. Looking over the others, she couldn't imagine doing anything with them, especially with cameras everywhere. They were all very attractive but strangers none the less.

She thought the worst of it was over when they briefly mentioned poison before abruptly cutting it off. Chips fell to the ground and the food she offered them was blamed instantly and the more boisterous zodiacs lost their shit while the quieter ones showed their panic in their own unique ways. Shrinking back in her seat, Even Astrid pushed her own bowl of carrots back. Thankfully, one of the women were still very rational and reassured them all that the food probably wasn't poisoned. "She has a point. It's not like everyone has had a chance to eat. If they were to poison all of us, they would have probably done it when they drugged us to bring us here, right? Even if we were poisoned, they wouldn't kill us so soon. We're their entertainment." Upset at how they were all being toyed with, Astrid pulled back her carrots and finished what was left in the small bowl.

Now that she had time to digest it all, she took a deep breath and wondered out loud. "They spoke of rewards and rules and stuff but what happens if we disobey or refuse to do these challenges? Do we get booted off the island if our credits reach zero?" Worried over the ability their lovely hosts had to kidnap all of these people and keep them from being rescued, Astrid quieted down and tried to focus on something more positive. "We should probably get to know each other a bit. I'm Astrid Marques. Gemini. I'm a librarian. I like long walks and just having fun in general. I hope this vacation isn't as bad as it's looking to be right now. Let's all try to get along. I call dibs on cleaning the bathrooms!"

As more and more people joined them, Xiaoluo took care to remember at least one feature from each of them so he could tell them apart better later. He had never seen so many foreigners in one spot before. He even began to wonder whether he was smuggled out of the country. By the looks of it, they all were. The easiest one to tell apart had to be the girl with pink hair. She kindly got them some snacks. Although he wasn't a fan of either, he appreciated the sentiment and took note of her kindness.

As he was trying to tell them all apart, the sound of static could once again be heard as another voice could be heard coming from speakers. this time belonging to a male. He welcomed them to whatever this was and began answering questions, cutting off their chances in asking anything important. He was one of the first listed off. Only when his picture lit up did he notice that there was a sign by it. Apparently he was a Pisces. Xiaoluo had never bothered with things like horoscopes. He had always believed it was outdated and something for only older generations to worry about. Thankfully they didn't tease him too much as they moved on to the Aries who got the worst of it. It appeared the hosts couldn't catch on to every word they said as he recalled asking the woman beside him a dumb question earlier.

Then they got to a question about cameras. Apparently they were everywhere and he may or may not have already been seen naked by millions of curious eyes. "我的天啊..." His face reddened with a mixture of shame and humiliation at the very thought. His free hand hid his face as he struggled to stomach this sudden news. He wasn't one to lash out but he dearly wanted to curse these hosts and their 18 generations of ancestors. Had Libra not been holding his hand, he probably would have.

The hosts continued but Xiao was in no mood to listen to what signs everyone was. He vaguely noted that the pink woman was Gemini, the guy that was teased was Aries, the blind guy was Capricorn and the woman beside him was a Libra. The rest flew over his head and the hosts continued on. He was certain he would get to know the others eventually. Libra's question was answered last, as it was the most important. While the host was clapping, Xiaoluo wondered whether they'd actually explain what the hell was going on if no one had asked.

'Surprise island?' He vaguely recalled hearing his coworkers mention it a long time ago back when he first started working at the restaurant. He never cared enough to watch it himself, however. The hosts filled in the rest with rules and something about credits. Boring things, he didn't really care for. It seemed they were free to do whatever they wanted.

His mind wandered off as they explained but came back when they got to room arrangements. It seemed he would be sharing a room with Libra. Once the announcers took a break, Xiaoluo could hear the woman quietly address him with the meekness of a rabbit. Xiao couldn't help but find the sight cute. It greatly eased the stress that was building up from earlier. He gave her a small smile and nodded. "Yes. Looks like we're stuck with each other."

The hosts once again returned to finish explaining how credits worked. Upon hearing the third way to earn them, Xiaoluo stilled. He wasn't sure what to make of this weird show and turned his head to look at the others. They looked like every day people. This had to be a prank, right? It felt so surreal. The hold on his hand reminded him of his roommate. Would they be..?

Xiaoluo shook his head free of the thought, not allowing his mind to wander any further. The woman was much too innocent for such things. Turning back to the other men, he eyed them, judging their reactions to the news. The Aries fellow didn't seemed as perturbed as the rest. In fact, he seemed a little determined. Seeing this, Xiaoluo quickly made up his mind to protect this roommate of his from men lacking propriety.

Libra seemed to be handling the news much worse than he was. Even as the hosts mentioned poison, her mind seemed to be elsewhere. Sure enough, she couldn't handle it. She released his hand and apologized. They had been holding hands for so long, the empty feeling in his palm didn't feel natural anymore. It was strange but he wasn't willing to worry about that, the poison, or even the situation they were in. His roommate desperately needed to unwind somehow. Since he couldn't very well teach her tai chi, Xiaoluo settled for the next best thing. "Don't worry about it. Do you think there's any liquor in the kitchen? I think we can all use a drink right about now."

Gently tugging her out of the room the moment a woman started to yell, he brought her back to the area they had met; the kitchen. Looking through the cabinets, he eventually found some whisky. To his disappointment, they didn't have any baijiu. Only after he pulled out the glasses, did he recall that he knew little to nothing about this woman. "You are old enough to drink, right? I don't think I ever got a name, Ms. Libra. I can brew you some tea if it is more to your tastes." He lightly jested, hoping to ease the tension even a little bit.

So many different reactions to different parts of the explanation they had gotten. Different languages even. Some seemed to be unbothered and others started yelling, just as the Asian took her hand again. She followed to that soft tug on it without thinking, letting him lead her away from here. Any place was better at this moment. Her grey blue eyes moved up to meet his as he was joking lightly it seemed. How could he be so calm? She had no idea, but she was very much grateful for it. It helped her to calm down as well. She was just overreacting as usual. “I very much agree to that,” she said in regards to the alcohol. Not so much in them all having alcohol. More so because she wanted to be alone. Or alone with him. No matter how that may look right from the start to cling together like this. Sex for credits. It still went through the back of her mind.

His voice called out to her again. Though it took some time for her to progress the words. Miss Libra actually sounded cute. He was rather cute. It took some more time to actually formulate an answer, more so because she was stumbling over it. “Yes, I am twenty-six, no. Wait. Twenty-eight! I am twenty-eight!” She blushed a bit as she was making a fool out of herself again. Who didn’t know their own age?! It wasn’t even as if her birthday had just passed. Yet she often had these kinds of moments, definitely when asked out of random about her age. “Sorry, I am really twenty-eight,” she reassured him. She looked at the bottle of whiskey he held out. Definitely not her preferred kind of drink, but for now she would settle for pretty much anything. She pushed herself up to climb on the counter to get them glasses, before remembering the way they had met. Thus, only darkening her blush as she moved away from the counter so he could take out the glasses. She was an absolute moron at the moment.

And little miss Libra still had not introduced herself. “Oh right, my name,” she said, trying very hard to recall his. It had been a difficult one. Something with Zi? “Sophia Vonk,” she finally introduced herself to him. She held out her hand, as they had somewhere along the alcohol search let go of each other. Even though it was probably stupid to shake hands now, wasn’t it? “But I am also fine with miss Libra,” she said as she managed a soft chuckle. He really was good at making her feel at ease and safe. “I do know it would be a lot easier for me to call you Mister Pisces.” Her smile brightened a bit. Though she was gonna try her hardest to get his name right. “You will have to tell me your name again, slowly, so I can butcher it with my Dutch accent again.”

Misha Becker
It seemed like offending people was his new special skill. Misha watched how the male hardly addressed his correction other than a stiff nod. He bit his lower lip in shame. Perhaps he should just keep his mouth shut all together! Though he was not the only one freaking out about the poison at least. One of the females seemed to be panicking just as much and threatening to sue. American… He assumed as there was no other country as sue happy as the Americans. And the Chinese people perhaps, but she was not Chinese. Shall we stop with the stereotyping, mister Becker? He mentally called himself out on the awful behavior as suddenly a completely unexpected voice came to him. Miss pitbull trying to calm him? It seemed to clash so much with the image he had from their first interaction that he didn’t know how to react, but it did help with the stuttering. He could, once more, only stare at her, until she so abruptly and freely went her way.

Which brought his attention back to his offended, and now probably even more annoyed, roommate. Who very much put him so politely in place about his panicking behaviour. So much that he looked back down at the table and couldn’t help a new blush from creeping up his cheeks. That seemed to be another rather new feature since he had arrived here. He took a deep breath in an attempt to calm his running heart and keep it in the right place in his chest again. He looked up when his roommate introduced himself. “Mister Morgan, nice to meet you,” he said, politely as ever. Not wanting to think about the fact the poison could just as easily be airborne. Or in the water. Or anywhere else than the food. “My name is Misha Becker,” he introduced himself. He held out his hand to shake the others formally. “I am very sorry for my earlier words. About implicating…” He wasn’t even able to finish that sentence without feeling the warmth of a new blush come up and the restrictive feeling of his stutter. “I… It was not meant such way.” As if that point needed clarifying again.

The German male looked through the room as he tried to keep himself in the little bubble and detached from all the ongoing emotions. Some people were already leaving the room, willingly or more unwilling, as one of the Asian women seemed to be working her roommate out of the diner. He looked towards Thomas again. “In order to keep me from panicking, let’s keep my mind busy,” he said with a soft smile, “perhaps it would be a good idea to get to know each other better. All of us. So, we do not have to introduce ourselves a thousand times?” His voice mostly directed towards the big man that was eager to claim the title of leader. Through Misha was already hating his own idea, since it would involve having to speak up in the group about himself. “It could also help us find possible connections, to why we specifically are brought here?”

Noemie's mouth fell open in shock as Taurus completely ignored her offered handshake and click-clacked past her, shouting at the ceilings about suing. This was such an unbelievably American response that all she could do was stand there, staring, utterly perplexed. In truth, she found herself reevaluating all the American stereotypes she had thought were baseless or unkind exaggerations. Certainly Taurus was not an ignorant American, but she was loud, dramatic, and evidently rude.

"Tu te fous de moi?" Noemie muttered under her breath, arms crossing in her pique. "I will not be calm in a moment," she said, the combined stress and frustration of finding herself in this absurd situation obscuring her typically sharp fluency of English. “We are all stuck here, n’est-ce pas? I think the least we could do is remember our manners.”

Her words came out sharper than she intended, but there was no room in her to feel remorseful. Noemie stalked back over to the dining room table, slumping into one of the recently vacated seats, and glared at those still seated, listening to Astrid introduce herself. The girl called this a vacation. Though her first instinct was to scoff, Noemie gave it a little more thought. Truthfully, she hadn’t ever taken what she would call a vacation, so this kidnapping was as close as she’d come. She was on an island in a really nice mansion. It could’ve been worse. It could’ve been Surprise Island: Haunted House. That would have been a disaster.

Misha suggested continuing the introductions, and Noemie was so startled to hear his words uninterrupted by stuttering that she sat up straighter, staring at him, something that could be interpreted as pride in her eyes. Perhaps she had judged him too quickly. Her gaze slid to the bespectacled man next to Misha, quickly sizing him up before leaning back in her chair. “I’m Noemie Acosta,” she said, hopefully for the last time that day. “I’m an actress in a musical theatre company.” She refrained from mentioning that it was a small, local company, especially considering it unlikely anyone present would have heard of it. “And I like to party.” A grin flickered to life on her lips. “I assume we are all from different countries? I live in France.” Her memory turned to the glimmering sea and the tiny, old shops that lined the streets. She’d never been out of the country before, either.

The more time passed, the more Noemie began to consider this a blessing. Sure, it was jarring to be suddenly uprooted and thrown into a situation with no warning, but it was the perfect opportunity and the perfect platform to showcase her talents to as many people as possible. When the show ended, she’d be famous, pour certainment. Her eyes skimmed the walls, trying in vain to find the cameras, wondering if her mother was watching.
