Summoner: The Cataclysm

Sighing, Keir retreated. Seems his presence was no longer needed. The woman was getting along too well with his enemy.

"To get along with the summoner of Cerberus is like a death wish," Fenrir growled, trying to convince his master to continue forth. Someone had to save the poor woman. Keir shook his head but couldn't deny the cooling of his skin as Fenrir gave him power anyway. Now he was ice cold.

Fenrir... I shan't fight until the tournament. You know I have too much honor for that.

Ren felt, yet again, shaky. "Panther, please, is there anything you can do? Anything to get rid of or at least push away the pain?" Her spirit stayed silent for only seconds, but it felt like hours. "Her Chimera is powerful, but I will see what I can do." Ren could feel the panther working on a bit of magic. Ren watched the summoner anxiously. Finally, unable to bear it, she rushed forward and knelt by the summoner. She started stroking the summoners hair and making soothing noises (almost like a soft purr).

"The food hall sounds nice. I'll be sure to escort you there if you would like the company haha. Even if i am a summoner i am also a person who still has his manners. So how about we get walking then. Perhaps there is something delicious there and if not then i wouldn't have a problem cooking something up haha."

Hayner let a smile escape his lips and shook her hand before turning and heading towards the kitchen. Even though he said that allies wouldn't be necessary he couldn't help but come up with a plan that was not so secretive. While they were walking though he could feel something tugging at his consciousness most likely it was the exhaustion of his spirits wrestling inside of him. He set his hand on the railing on the inside of the ship trying to make it look like it was a habit rather than him actually needing it although most would have noticed. Once they were in the kitchen he saw two summoners already there and eating. Hayner picked up a plate of nice and tasty looking steak and pulled out some seasonings to make his own special blend. Once he was done seasoning it he began to eat it slowly while attempting to regain his full consciousness.

"So. I know i said that allies and friends weren't necessary and all... but how about we make a little pact hm? It looks like the others are already doing the same or at least attempting to. I say we have a ceasefire until we are the only two left at which point we can have a hearty fight for the championship. A no bars fight all out, ill be sure not to go too far though. Just a suggestion and an extension of friendship i suppose."

In Hayner's mind he was only securing a person to watch his back while he was asleep or recovering knowing the trials and exhaustion that was sure to ensue in this tournament. He was hoping it would be something open and free formed rather than a ladder match style. He definitely preferred a "roam and battle" style. Either way he knew that it would be all the more fun if he won it all. Meanwhile his spirits finally emerged from his suppression and began to speak again.

"Hey i thought i was the only girl for you master~ Here you are talking with this floozy like you want to bed her, how absurd~ We all know that no human girl could ever match up to what a spirit can do~"

The nekomata had purred inside of his mind as she spoke and it gave him a slight blush which he attempted to hide by looking away. He knew that his summon was only teasing but he was a man after all and those desires could never be subsided no matter how much training one had. As he continued to eat though he retorted inside his own mind.

"listen you, if i wanted to bed a woman i wouldn't bother being in this tournament. How about you take a cat nap and let me work my own devices."

And then Keir's stomach growled. Was it dinner time yet?

He looked to the sky. The sun hadn't quite reached the horizon yet, but it was close.

"Must you think of you stomach when there are plenty of people here to intimidate?" Fenrir whined. Keir chuckled.

To eat is to gain strength. I must eat to remain strong, he reminded his companion. Chuckling again, he made his way through the ship to look for where the dining room was. Perhaps he could find someone to talk to there.

"Talking to these summoners is a sign of weakness, Keir."

It didn't happen often, but Keir ignored this statement from his companion.

Lea skipped as she walked, happy to have actually spoken to someone on this blasted ship. Ooh, I met a good cook~ she spoke in to Pheonix with a smirk. The bird seemingly ignored her for now, leaving her to her own thoughts. She turned back to look at Hayner, a frown creasing her eyebrows as he found a grip on the railings. He had paled slightly, though she didn't think it her place to say. From what she knew of boys, pride and a lack of self-concern was normal and he probably wouldn't take well to offers of help.

Lea loved the smell of kitchens and the warmth that still emanated from the ovens in the aftermath of cooking. Her cheeks took on a red flush as she stepped into the room. Hayner made his way across to the meat and picked on a steak dish. Lea grabbed up chicken drumsticks for her part, and a few leaves of lettuce. Plain food always suited her best. Some of Hayner's colour had returned when Lea settled to eat. She chewed thoughtfully on her food, running over his proposal in her head. She swallowed the mouthful speaking up, this time in more hushed tones.

"Allies are never a bad thing to have, especially in unfamiliar territory, and friends are a step up from even that. Watching each others' backs and such." The pixie grin returned; he had looked away with what looked like the start of a blush. "Plus a battle between friends to finish this tournament would be a good, fun challenge." She stuck her tongue out and winked.

"You've got yourself a deal." She glanced up at the entrance as Keir found his way in, eyes lingering for a minute or so on his ears. "Another one, huh? Looks like they've roped in enough competitors to make this interesting at least. Reckon you can take them?" She teased softly, trying to keep things from getting heavy.

Chimera lashed out viciously at the source of the power that dare try to soothe it. It was like a rabid mad dog barking in a nightmarish tone. The young summoner heard the sound of a soft purr despite the apparent state of pain she was in. Like a terrified child clinging to her mother, the young cat-girl summoner embraced the other cat-girl, her body shaking tremendously. Tears flooded down her large pale violet eyes as she gripped the shirt of the other female summoner; her face buried in her chest while her tears soaked through the fabric.

"Please make it stop! I never asked for this! They forced me to be joined with it! Please make the pain go away!" she cried out, not caring anymore about who saw her in such a state.

Chimera continued with it's barrage of torture to the small Summoner. Its goat head, however, turned its gaze to the spirit of a hydra. With demonic sounding bleat, the goat head savagely shook its head as if ready to charge at the spirit.

Ren held the young summoner to her chest, cradling her. She spoke to her spirit through her mind. Panther! Stronger, please! Try and sooth the Chimera. She continued her purring, stroking the summoners hair and scratching behind her ear (Thats Rens fav place to be scratched). She was terrified, but the feeling felt far away. Panther! Please I'm begging you! She is in pain! There was a long silence. "Yes, Water Lily." Ren felt the panther force the magic onto the Chimera. Ren, even though she could not create anything more then a shadow of a flame, pushed as much soothing power into the summoner. She was already beginning to feel drained, but she kept it up. Suddenly, she got an idea. Panther! Force a wall between the Chimera and the summoner! And use the seal so that only you and I can break it.

Thom returned from the buffet after what seemed like an eternity. He juggled three plates, stacked high with all different kinds of food. One plate was full of breakfast foods such as bacon, hashbrowns, pancakes, and berries. The second plate was full of general lunch food, while the third was full of dinner. There seemed to be no way such a small kid could eat so much, but Thom sat down across from Raithen and began to gorge. "Oh you're such a big eater!"<after all="" the="" time="" we="" ve="" spent="" together,="" i="" still="" don="" t="" believe="" you="" eat="" this="" much.=""> </after>Falkor chuckled. Thom ignored the comment and in the blink of an eye he was moving on to the second plate.

Raithen ate with his claws, watching in shocked amusement as the boy powered through the hideously huge pile of food. With that amount of food...maybe he hadn't eaten in three days! The snake cleared his throat and let out a little chuckle. "My goodness Thom! You must use a tremendous amount of energy to be so thin and eat like that!" He laughed and licked some of the meat juice from his fingers tips. He picked up the egg, examinined it, and decided it looked far too appealing not to eat. He sat for a moment, working his jaw and without any further delay swallowed the egg whole. He sat looking up at the cieling for a few minutes, ensuring the egg made it all the way down his throat. Satisfied, he continued picking at the meat, occaisonally stealing something small from Thom's plate with a mischevious smirk,

He tried to ask what to do so that he can help but he didnt know how to use his powers to actually heal or help another. All he knew was to fight and if he had to protect another. He could not heal nor could he send energy to another without actually scaring or damaging them

Chimera tossed its heads back and forth trying to resist what magic was attempting to calm it. Surprisingly, the Chimera felt a deep sense of restfulness descend upon its savagery. Almost swiftly, the Chimera enter a state of calm, seizing its violent usurp of its Summoner's spirt. The pain slowly faded away and the young summoner felt that she had control over her body once more. Overjoyed, the young Summoner embraced the other cat girl rather forcibly, causing the other cat girl summoner to fall on her back, the Chimera summoner on top.

"Thank you so very much, how could I ever repay you?" she said, a huge smile playing at her lips.

Thom laughed, slightly embarrassed. After Raithen had asked him a question he swallowed his food, and paused only long enough to answer. "T-they say it's because I u-use all my energy being nervous. B-but also I think it's because I e-eat Falkor's s-share too, since he can't really e-eat." Thom resumed ravishing the food, and glanced up to watch the snake like man swallow a whole egg. "D-does it hurt?" Thom asked, more curious than freaked out. He noticed Raithen's hand dart over to his plate and swipe a bit of chicken. He sprung his hand out, and batted Raithen away playfully, smiling sheepishly as he did so.

Raithen chewed the captured chicken thoughtfully, nodding at the boy's explanation. "I see." He liked the lingering feeling of the boy's fingertips on his hand and the sheepish little shy the other gave him...it made him feel a little weak. He blinked at the question, forcing his attention back to the conversation. "Not at all. The first few times Basilisk made me try it the shell broke in my throat. But I've gotten pretty good at swallowing." The basilisk broke into hissy laughter, and it took Raithen all of three seconds to realize what he'd said. He slapped his forehead, cursing himself. Somehow though, he doubted Thom would have the same train of thought as the perverted snake.

He just sat there waiting for the person who actually could heal other people to get thanked. He sighed and stood up turning around. He fully agreed with the hydra now. He was alone. He started walking off.

Ren started, surprised by the hug. "She seems happy." Ren grinned and hugged the Chimera summoner back, then pulled herself up. "It was... it needed to be done." She felt out of breath and tired. "Child, it seems that you have used a bit to much power." Ren sighed.

"Excellent. Well to our newfound alliance i say we eat and drink to our hearts content haha. After all a healthy summoner needs a healthy meal. I already saw a few who were in less than favorable condition. So where are you from. I dont think i really got that answer out of you when you introduced yourself."

Hayner was trying to be nice and quiet about the alliance although it was beginning to get difficult now that the kitchen was starting to get crowded. He didnt want to stick around and attract too much attention though he was very content with eating his steak and talking to the girl. As he was eating his steak he began to actually look at the girls features. She was decently tall and rather pretty although he felt she was a tad hyper or at least it seemed that way. Her smile although was slightly disturbing. It was too innocent. It unsettled him but not enough to push him away.

The young summoner register what toll that the other summoner must have taken. Swiftly, she opened the door to her room and took hold of the other cat-girl's hand. "Please, follow me to my bed. You certainly need some rest by the expression upon your face. My room is your room for the day and night." The Chimera Summoner led the other cat-girl gently to her small room that only consisted of a reasonable size cot with a pillow and a sheet on top of it. Carefully, she eased the other girl onto her bed. A look of worry masking her face.
"This is a feast fit for a King! However, I am only a Prince so I can only eat half of it! HARDY HAR! HAR!" said a man dressed in the robes of old Arabian custom rather loudly. Before him, on the table, laid plates upon plates of delicious delectable foods that the kitchen's crew would allow him to have. He gripped the bone of a large chicken drumstick and bit into the savory cooked flesh of the chicken. "Mmm! How delicious! My compliments to the chef!" Ameen waved the chicken drumstick high in the air before continuing to indulge himself in its goodness.
"Master, you are making a spectacle of yourself in this dinning area. Please watch yourself, there are potential enemies among us." warned a small green haired girl perched upon Ameen's right shoulder.
"Nonsense, we are among friends Lina!"
He scanned the eating area for other summoners and laid eyes upon a pair of males talking to each other. "You two, come join me in this jovial feast! A meal with the company of another always taste better than eating alone!" invitied Ameen, motioning the duo over with his drumstick. Lina gave an audible sigh.

He saw a man in robes advertising food. He then realized he hasnt eaten the entire time he has been on the ship. He walked over and examined the food. He saw a pigs head ,"Uhm . . .what is that?" he questioned.

Despite the fact Thom had no idea why Raithen was laughing, he chuckled anyways. Thom couldn't help but feel drawn to Raithen, and he would have felt stupid for not laughing with him. He picked through his pile of food until the plates were bare. The stacked them one on top of the other, then let the waitress take them away. The two sat silently for a moment, then suddenly Thom perked up. "One sec..." He said, and hopped away. A few minutes later he returned with two forks and a chocolate-mixed berry cheesecake. "D-do you want to split it?" He asked.

Raithen was almost afraid he wouldn't return. But there he was, practically trotting over with an enormous piece of cheesecake. He inhaled sharply and felt his breath hitch in his throat. "Wonderful. An hour with the boy and you're practically ready to jump over the table and..." Raithen shushed the perverse snake, though a slight blush did rise to his cheeks at the thought. "I'd love to. Thank you Thom." He smiled and dug in, pushing all the berries over to Thom's side. He licked the chocolate from his fork before sticking his finger on the chocolate and proceeding to dab it on the dragon-tamer's nose. He smirked, almost daring him retaliate.
