Stumbled Into (Taken)

They traveled for the entire day, not stopping, Darian was trying his best not to have to stay in their territory for as long as he could. They passed through the barrier surrounding the kingdom. Darian knew that they would likely know where they were now. He'd disobeyed. Stepping off his horse he picked Anwen up as well and setting her on the ground. They would need to go on foot from here, they were less easy to track then having a lumbering horse in the woods. Sending the horse back to it's home they then set off into the woods. It was well into the evening before they found a suitable place to rest for the night. There was a hollowed out area underneath an overhanging cliff. It wasn't very noticeable and slightly elevated so that they would be able to see out into the night. Darian didn't feel like it was wise to make a fire. He broke open some of the rations that they'd given him and passed them out to the two girls. Taking none for himself. He wasn't sure how long those would last before they found another town.

Ella rolled her eyes and pushed her rations back to Darian. "Darian, you need to eat too." She said, knowing full well that she could go at least a week without eating anything and still function completely normally. She looked over Darian's form, noting that he probably wouldn't be too used to not going without food for a long time. He could try to be chivalrous, but she would be realistic.

It seemed that Darian's effort to make sure they ate first was foiled, Ella simply refused to eat what she'd been given. Instead telling him that he needed to eat too. Shaking his head he just sighed and smiled before looking across at her. Taking the little bit of bread and dried honeycomb he broke it in half, "Then we'll share... I'm honestly not that hungry anyway..." He gave the other half to her and then just sat back a moment, it seemed no matter what he did he couldn't get thoughts out of his mind about becoming the prince. He knew people that would have given anything to become royalty, yet what was the price? Running a hand through his hair he had never felt so vulnerable in his life. At least, not unless he was around his father... a flash of anger appeared in Darian's eyes as he thought about his father. He was probably thinking of some way to blame it on Darian, telling him what a horrible son he was. How he was just screwing around with what he had. That was one advantage to being out here in a cave, likely being chased by people that would probably kill him.
