~Character Creation ~

This is a fantasy world with access to magic of all kinds, however in these worlds, adventurers are actually uncommon. The average person has minimal abilities if any. They could be an amateur bard who can create small illusions to tell their stories, or hunters who at least know their way around a bow and arrow, or even just an old spinstress who spends her days cleaning clothes with no real abilities. I don't mind having an adventurer or a few, but I'd prefer that the cast isn't saturated by them.

~ Andio Flynn ~
__pixiv_fantasia_4_and_etc_drawn_by_demich__sample-7b3da9d8797f42e4100e0500a004e64d (3).jpg
Age: 25 | Gender: Male | Sexual Preference: Straight | Race: Human | Height: 6'1

~ Personality ~
Andio is a curious historian of the strangest variety. He sees something spectacular in almost everyone and everything. Seeking to sing the songs of the unsung heroes, he has just as much admiration towards the medicine man, the philanthropist, and the baker as he does towards the stalwart soldier, the cunning vigilante, and the knowledgeable wizard. However, due to wishing to write the story of those who go unsung, he often times can annoy his subject of interest, or at least make them feel slightly off put from his strange fascination.

+Energetic+
+Willing to provide Assistance+
+Humble+

-Over-Zealous-
-Oblivious to how his presence affects others-
-Nosey-

~ Backstory ~
Andio Flynn was born to two retired adventurers. His mother was a Bard extraordinaire, and his father was once master of the blade. Now his mother had a tendency to exaggerate when telling her son stories of their days as adventurers. It was just how she told her stories. A pack of wolves became a pack of hellhounds, a few raised skeletons were became an army of the damned raised by an evil necromancer, and his father's simple blade could cut down a horde of orcs with a single sweep. However, those days were behind them now. It was time to settle down and raise their child. And what a child Andio grew up to be.

The stories that his mother told him, well he never grew out of them. He idolized his father and mother both, perhaps to an unhealthy degree. When he was young, most people played along with him, after all he was truly a heartwarming child. But as he grew older and older his obsession with learning more about the stories he was told remained. He was older now, so he knew that perhaps his mother and father hadn't single handedly interrupted a demonic ritual, but even so, they did such good for everyone around them and no one even knew who they were. That seemed unfair to Andio. Heroes come in all forms, and their stories should be told. This was Andio's obsession, and his mother's lessons in music and entertainment (and a few parlor tricks) gave him an excelent basis to begin his journey.

So he set out searching for those who work without thanks or recognition, putting together a record of their deeds, and why they were important, why they should be remembered forever. When he came of age, he set off, to learn whatever he can, and improve his bardic talents.

~ Talents ~
Trained Musician: Andio is proficient with several instruments, those being the lute, lyre, and piano. He is also a fairly decent singer.
Apprentice Illusionist: Andio knows a few spells of the Illusion school, allowing for minor charms and images to be conjured.

~Rodent~

4012470_blue_eyes_girls_wallpapers.jpg

Race: Human
Age: 19
Gender: Girl
Sexual Preference: Girls
Job: Performer / Cleaner.
~Appearance:
Big-eyed, raven-haired, 5 foot tall cuteness. Arching and animated black eyebrows hold above her big, shiny green eyes. Her nose is small and pixie like and her mouth is also small but with plump pink lips. But often folk will see a huge enthusiastic grin coupled with a radiant glow or shining glint in those big green eyes.

Even though small in stature, she is very, very muscular especially shown off in her legs. The girl does have pronounced hourglass figure due to the nature of her acrobatic physicality; shoulders and hips seem much wider than her waist. Average bust but with a killer booty! Yet marred all along her body ar the marks and scars of being a high-flying performer. She has a particularly rough scar on her left arm when she broke it and the bone stuck out from her forearm. When asked, she will proudly show off her past scars; they are her badges of pride.

As may be the case of any little ball of energy and joy, the girl can be seen in constant motion. Rodent fidgets a lot, and is a hand-talker. She constantly moves her head about like a squirrel and shifts her body and head to constantly keep face to face/ eye contact whilst talking... which she does. A lot. No, really Rodent talks a lot. A lot, a lot. But she is infectious with her upbeat attitude and unwavering smiles. There is a bounce in her step, and sometimes she does little dance steps, twirls or poses when nervous, agitated or just simply ecstatic.

The girl has no discerning taste within her fashion choices. For the better part of her young life, her wardrobe was made and chosen for her so what mattered to her the most was function. And so now she dresses with function and practicality first and foremost in her mind. And though plain in her garment choice, Rodent will however always be seen with somekind of head wear on. But she loves hats of all kinds and will pay a pretty coin or make a deal to acquire the select item off the head of a traveller or patron, new or old. She will adore it whether it be a wig or a cap or scarf or bandanna or a gent's tophat, or even a mix up of them all! It matters not to her.

But when it comes to footwear she is exceptionally nit-picky; and it really is not a fashionista decision. She hates slipping and so will choose only the best shoes to eliminate such a thing; as an acrobat one slip could mean disaster.

<~<★>~>

~Personality:

+ | Daring - Single-Minded. Bold. Fearless. As a high-intensity acrobat/performer, Radiant never turns down a challenge. The more breath-taking, the brighter the glint in those shiny green eyes. Although never spoken aloud, she is quite arrogant and believes she is the best acrobat out there. Bar none...

+ | Team-Player - Although raised to crave the spotlight, Radiant nevertheless understands the utter importance of trusting her troupe members, and in turn, she demands the utter importance of trusting her as well. She does aim to please and will do anything in her combined skillsets to ensure all members succeed... even if it means rolling up her sleeves and getting down and dirty...

+ | Uplifting - The lass always aims to please and keep spirits high. A big smile, a wink, a nod, then she'll chat you up. She can be silly and somewhat witty, if only to bring levity to tension and conflict. Again, although she craves spotlight and accolade, she will share what rewards are reaped as a troupe..

+ | Keen eyes - Trained to steal originals and valuables... and sometimes replace them with forgeries and knock-offs... Radiant has a discerning eye. And coupled with her keen eyesight, she notices fine details about things and people. Not that she can read people to discern lies or truths, like an empath, no, but she can tell alot about them just by mere casual glances. Items they wear, speech patterns, mannerisms. Basically if they are a worthy mark or con.

+ | Cute - Take a diminuative stature, shiny eyes, positive outlook, then toss in an infectious smile or giggle and you have a little heart-warmer. She looks inoffensive and harmless yet when she is in action she has an explosive physical intensity that catches most off guard. Off. Guard. Which is what she hopes happens most of the time when she pulls off a con on you ;D

<~★~>

- | Daring - For all the upswings, there are downswings. And with the downswings of a high-risk/high-reward mindset, the consequences of biting off more than she can chew are staggering at times. Ask to see her scars.

- | Unrealistic/Naive - Growing up as a travelling performer, she has a very skewed view of the real world. Even though she is no longer a professional performer, and out of the boxed in world of the Carnivale without her troupe , she is still very naive and has been taken advantage of time and again.

- | Self-Worth - Even though she remains positive, behind it all, there she hides the self-doubt and fear of failure. She tends to downward spiral and remains highly dependant upon others to pick her up and shove her back up the path to her old, smiling, bantering self.

- | It talks... - oh yeah. That. The girls talks and talks and talks and talks and talks and talks and talks and... only stops when she is asleep.

- | Love-Struck!! - Once she falls for someone, she falls hard... Oh but those hearts and stars in her eyes and uh-oh: she will do anything to please that oh-so-special-specialness~~!!

<~<★>~>

~Skills:

{1} Acrobat (tight-rope walking, climbing, gymnastics, knife-tossing, juggling, physical fitness, concentration, explosiveness, devotion)

{2} Musically Inclined (Wind instruments (spec: Recorder), percussions, dancing, rhythm and reading, advanced acrobatic dance forms, ad-lib)

{3} Actress (costume/disguise, personifications, replicate emotions/demeanours, quick-study, stage knowledge, oratory)

{4} Thief (pick-pocket, sneaking, hiding, escape artistry, lock-picker, appraisal, hand-signalling, contacts, street-smarts, profiling)

<~★~>

The Gift:
Unseen to See the World Unseen.
(Invisibility and seeing invisible things.) Still not even close to back to full power. But as of right now, she can blend into the shadows seamlessly and she can see into the dark/low-light like a cat can.

The Cost:
The Things you see are not as bad as what may see you... and call to you
.
She sees ghosts sometimes and sometimes they see her. Rather frightening and unnerving. But the voices... it is the voices that tell her, call to her, demand of her that she do something for them. And the more powerful she becomes, the more the voices will call to her, the more she will succumb to madness and lose the will to resist them. In time she will blackout and she will once more be 'pulled in.' Radiant will be possessed and remember nary a thing she did while possessed. The more and more she becomes possessed, the greater chances she will lose herself-- mind, body and soul-- into the World Unseen.

~Backstory:

There is much debate as to what this little performer was before she showed up here... But this is what is mostly agreed upon and told to others.

The lass was found in a field naked and alone by a wandering hunter named Dae'Liska. Swaddled in furs provided by the hunter, the raven headed girl was brought to the lodge. Over time, she was cared for and nursed back to conciousness and relative good health. And once the little lass opened her eyes, the very next day, during the wee hours of the morning, the burly hunter woman took leave without a word. But for some reason she had left some kind of payment in the form of a young elk carcass, skinned and bled, ready for all to feast.

At first, the girl spoke naught and only nodded in response to simple commands and queries. Soon enough she was given the name Rodent for her small stature and quick nibbling mannerisms when she ate.

As soon as she found the strength to walk, she soon began to fill out her fine physique and one day she exploded with all the energy and mirth in the world. The girl was a cyclone of dazzling skill. She spun, danced, flipped, climbed and swung from the rafters. It was quite apparent this girl had quite the intensity and hidden talents.

She impressed them with her acrobatics. She wowed them with her musical instrument ability. She won them over with her charm as an actor and dancer. Oh but what a grand spectacle had they uncovered within this girl.

And oh, but that mouth. Oh, that mouth.

As soon as she regained her memories, the little thing just did not stop talking. Nay, and again nay, it did not stop talking.

But they took her in and kept her busy with chores and performances to keep her mouth still, but even then only few could squelch the incessant chatter of the teen girl. But from the verbal waterfall of this girl's mouth at least more of her background was uncovered. She was once known as:

Sister Radiant!!

High-flying death defying Angel of the Wonderful Wondrous Wandering Carnivale!!

Brought to you by none other than: The Astounding Adestav Brothers!

Of course, none had heard of such a travelling carnivale but her skill was proof that, bar none, she could back up what she spouted on. Boundless energy and tenacity had she and she became a great little addition to the lodge. A tour de force as a nightly entertainer and a hell of a cleaner in the day time too.

She kept the name Rodent, as requested and as others had been accustomed to calling the little thing... besides, she liked the sound of it. That, and although she seemed to shrug it off, she preferred that they did not reveal her past life, name and identity to others for whatever the reason may be. And the staff had good suspicion as to why. There was something she was hiding from-- or rather something she kept hidden. They noticed those times that she stared off at something in the shadows or in the dark that made those normally bright green eyes, dull but glint with an eerie life of its own. It was as if she was receiving a message of some kind from beyond.

And then there are the times she freaks folk out. They seem to think they are all alone then all of a sudden Rodent appears out of the darkness from behind them.

That and only the staff who had been here since she arrived over half a year ago noticed the scars that appeared over time. Her skin had been pure as the driven snow when she had arrived and today she carries multiple scars as if she had been injured-- possibly abused-- multiple times.

And so the lass says she is 19 and, aye, she does look it.

But the staff that was there that day when the huge mountain woman brought her in... they swear up and down that when Rodent arrived, she did not look a day over 13.

Age: 20 | Gender: Female | Attraction: "Hey now, I'm in the middle of recovering from a messy break-up!" | Race: Human | Height: 5'8"

~ Personality ~
Eliza is somewhat of a no-nonsense worker. Being the granddaughter to elderly owner, Agnus, she is often times the one to take over most of the business aspects of the Lodge House. Guest books, ingredients orders, ledgers, wages, taxes, and many others. These are her job, as her grandmother is a very kind person. Too kind in fact. Free meals and rooms left and right, which is fine once in a while, but hardly a way to run a business. She loves to complain about all the work that she has to do, but really she enjoys every second of it, but she still overworks herself too easily. It's hard to get her to stop once she's started a new project, but once you do and she finally takes a deep breath, she will just sit down outside and watch the world. When she is in business mode, she knows what to say and how to say it with authority. But when you finally get her off the clock, and relating on a more personal level she has a hard time expressing what she really wants to say, often times just making a few stammering noises and ending with "You know?"

~ Backstory ~
Eliza was born here in the wintery North of Stillness. Her mother gave a helping hand to her grandmother in the Inn that her great great grandfather had established oh-so long ago. Eliza's father was a medicine man. A man who studied herbs and elixirs, seeking to help ease the pains of the loggers. While making a decent stockpile of coin of course. He was as much a business man as he was a good man, and where Eliza learned all her business sense.

Up until she was about 14, her life was the same. Help her father make medicine, help he mother in the Lodge House, help her father, help her mother, help her father, help her mother. It was not a bad, not at all. It was actually fun. This continued up until her mother collapsed in the middle of the logging season. Her father quickly went to work trying to nurse her back to health. She lived, but was diagnosed with a disease that could never be cured. Only treated. To make matters worse, the ingredients required to brew the remedy grew in far warmer climates. Exotic this far North, it was far too expensive an import to support living in Stillness any longer. Her mother and father packed their things, but Eliza dragged her feet, and dug in her heels. She was not going anywhere.

Reluctant as they were at first, they eventually gave in to the immovable child. They left her under the care of her grandmother. It was a lot more work for only the two women now that her mother was gone. Around age 16, Eliza took a liking to young man who came up North for the logging season. After the six months ended, the two kept in contact, writing to one another. They kept talking for almost three years. They had promised to marry one another, but Eliza was growing tired of having to spend so much time away from her betrothed, and he was too much of a free spirit to stay in one place for too long. Finally, he asked her to join him on his journey to another continent, and how they could travel the world. Once again though, Eliza's feet were buried in deep within the snow. She gave him an ultimatum. Either stay here with her, or leave her, and his feelings here.

It has been a year since then, and she is no longer in a sorry state, though the subject is still sore. For now, she just wants to focus on the Lodge House and Stillness.

~ Talents ~
Hospitality Cooking: It's food made in bulk, but it's warm, it's hardy, and it's tasty. Don't need much more than that
Herbalism: Eliza knows enough about medicine to be able to tend to sick or injured with moderate care.

㊄ Aaron Celeste ㊄
Age: 29 | Gender: Male | Race: Human
Sexual Preference: Doesn't especially matter.

Personality:
Aaron is a pretty even-mannered man. He's a good friend to have if you don't mind his bluntness and sometimes stand-offish behavior. It's pretty obvious that he was a younger brother if one spends the time talking with him. He isn't exactly fond of the cold and knows a trick or two to keep warm. Whether it's lighting a fire in one's belly or chopping wood for the hearth, he's got a knack for it. He's been known to rub a few people the wrong way, but they were generally asking for trouble and simply picked the worst person in town to bring it to.

+ Observant +
He notices things that most people don't.

+ Smart +
He's quick at figuring things out, and knows when to walk away from what he sees as a lost cause or to push for answers.

+ Courageous +
He isn't afraid of consequences, and faces challenges with a level head. It's rare to see him be shaken by anything.

+ Cautious +
He's hesitant to believe everything that he hears or sees. This saves him a bit of trouble when it comes to dealing with people of the less than savory sort.

- Secretive -
He believes that his business is his business alone, and has been known to get a bit confrontational when people pry too much.

- Stubborn -
He isn't one to be stopped once he sets his mind to something. Lord help whoever tries to talk him out of whatever he's committed to seeing through.

- Sarcastic -
He can be downright savage with his sarcasm when he isn't being mindful of his mouth. The snows of Stillness seem tropical compared to the coldness of him on a bad day.

Backstory:
Aaron was the youngest of the Celeste boys. Growing up on the farm, he also had to be the quickest and most able, otherwise he'd be mocked severely by his older brothers, and that was something that he strove to avoid as much as he possibly could. He learned the hard way to not trust everything his brothers told him, much to his humiliation sometimes, and by the time he was classified as a 'strapping young man' there was very little that could pass by without his notice or phase him. Of course, he had loving parents, Ma and Pop simply believed in education through experience and after the fourth boy, the others were old enough to do the teaching for them.

Of course, not everything was sunshine and rainbows. Pop had an accident in town, a cart had gotten loose and he hadn't been quick enough to get out of the way. The initial impact didn't kill him, hell, he had made it back home fine. But he passed away during the night from some sort of internal bleeding. His oldest brother took up being the head of the farm, as Ma was starting to get a bit frail in her growing age and hadn't exactly handled the loss of Pop well. Though, the family didn't have much time to grieve. They received notice that two of the boys were needed in order to fight an army of the damned. Knowing that the older boys needed to stay home, work the farm, and take care of Ma, himself and his slightly older brother Alution set off to go to war.

They were split off during training, Alution showing more promise as a cavalryman and Aaron as a scout. They trained his keen eye and able hands with a bow and several thrown weapons. He was most tactful with an ax. Of course, scouting put him on the front lines, seeing things that would forever follow him through his fitful sleep. He'd been the witness to the execution of prisoners deep within enemy lines: a cavalry unit that had thought to been lost. He still doesn't speak of how he hadn't been able to recognize Alution once they'd had their sick fun with him, save for the scar on his shoulder from when the old nag had bit him years prior. After he completed that mission, he wrote home, telling the story of a brave cavalryman who fought and died on the battlefield with a smile on his face with the knowledge that he took out many with him. And on the mission after that, he deserted and left the front lines far behind him.

His travels brought him to a quiet frozen town where he put his skill with an ax to use chopping firewood for the Lodge, and the habitual drinking that he'd taken up to quell his restless mind to use behind the bar, where he could bolster up some merry spirits and let the laughter keep the shadows at bay.

Skills:
㊄ Light-footed ㊄
Once a scout, always a scout. And a scout who can't move silently doesn't last for too long.

㊄ Dexterity ㊄
There's a good chance that he can pull off anything that requires nimble hands, and anything he throws will most likely meet the target with deadly accuracy.

㊄ Woodcutting ㊄
He's handy with an ax, and we're leaving it at that.

English Lyrics:
Pranks didn't grasp the core
Caught in a vast fog
I couldn't escape, nor choose
But I accepted it

My frozen heart was searching this place and
Those unstained hands of yours

Reflected in your eyes, a scenery
It's fine, even if it's just a lie
I prayed that, if I disappeared
You would have at least cried

My feelings grow stronger; will one day your voice
Become blurry?
For your pure eyes, these words, cruelly
Held the key

Reflected in your eyes, a scenery
This is the end engraving my heart
I'm praying that, if I disappear
You will at least look back.

Athena Castel

Age: 23 | Gender: Female | Sexual Preference: Straight | Race: Human

Personality:
Athena was raised to be a knight and because of her training, most of the time she's pretty calm and collected, showing little emotion. She has most qualities a knight would have. However, the girl has some tsundere elements to her because with her lack of emotion it appears like she doesn't care about most things or isn't interested in getting to know anyone well. Really, she just bottles up the emotions and sometimes they just slip out at the wrong times causing her to act strange or in the wrong manner. She has a warmer more caring side to her, but she is the kind of person that you have to get to know better for you to finally see it.

Brave | Knightly | Respectful | Always willing to protect people
Always follows orders (too much) | Hides emotions/feelings | Hard on herself | Tsundere

Backstory:
Generations of Castels have been knights of the royal guard. Athena's own father was ranked highly in the royal guard. From birth, Athena was to be a royal knight as well; one who they hoped would take the place of her father when he grew too old. Athena proved to be a protégé in fighting and learned quickly, easily gaining ranks in the royal guard.

However, all that changed when one day somehow the King was assassinated. But despite that horrific incident, her parents suddenly wanted Athena to travel and experience new things. So, Athena left on her own to follow her parent's orders. But the young knight had no idea what she really was supposed to do. After a little while, Athena arrived at the Stillness Lodge House and for some reason just decided to stay. She became employed under them as a guard to provide security in case some rough travelers decide to start a fight or some kind of monster attacks. However, considering that most of the time that stuff doesn't happen, she just tends to help around the lodge whenever needed. Or at least be an intimidation tactic to prevent fights or stealing at the inn.

After some time, Athena grew to understand that her parents probably just wanted her to have her own life and experience something different than just being a knight. Considering Athena's status as a Castel and an ex-royal knight, she has become a bit of a (interesting) legend around the area: The ex-knight who now works at a Lodge. At least it gives the Lodge some publicity.

Sexual Preference:

Race:
Human

Personality:
No one really knows Nagini's true personality. She is usually very composed, apparently very cold, calculating, manipulative, sly and sometimes even cruel but in reality she's kind, brave and willing to help those in need. She is also very smart and knowledgeable as well as very charismatic. She tends to act according to her own judgments while remaining private and reticent. She's also determined to accomplish her goals and hates to fail.

Charismatic | Smart | Kind
Determined | Brave

Sly | Manipulative | Cold
Calculating | Cruel

Backstory:
Born in a wizarding family, it was no surprise that Basil had magical abilities. At a young age she can already casts elemental spells and develop a strong relationship with her familiar who was a snake named Faust.

Basil and Faust were inseperable. The two of them did everything together: may it be training, playing, even sleeping. Everything was fine and dandy until one day, Basil saw a vision: their house was on fire and her parents died. Being a kid, her parents thought it was just a nightmare but little did they know it will become a reality.

At age 12, Basil's vision came true. She just finished playing in the forest with Faust when she saw their house on fire. She could hear her parents screaming but she was so scared and shocked that all she did was stand and stare, unable to think and move.

Soon the whole house turned into ashes and Basil could do nothing but cry. She blamed herself for her parents' death. She kept thinking that if only she did something, maybe her parents are still alive.

The next couple of months was tough. Basil became an orphan and lived in the streets dressed in rags. She heard a couple of rumors about the fire but never really understood how and why it happened. Some says it was an accident while some says it was because her parents aren't loyal to thr king. Whatever the reason was she vowed to forget about everything that happened and that she should start a new life.

At age 15, Basil joined a traveling circus. While in the circus, Basil changed her name into Nagini and learned to dance as well as learned that she has a knack for clairvoyance. They went on tours and visited a lot of towns.

At age 25, Nagini and Faust were supposed to perform on Horace as some sort of advertisement that thekr circus will be arriving in a couple of days but sadly, the cold winter halted their plans.

Now she and her snake are stuck in a lodge in Stillness, just waiting for the winter to be over.. that is, if its possible.

Rodrik Stonehead

Stillness City Guard

  • Name: Rodrik Stonehead
    Race: Teifling
    Age: 35
    Height: 6'7"
    Weight: 225 lbs
    Appearance:
    c9d6fccbceba02520c11383902ac53c3.jpg

Rodrik Stonehead might have been confused for a half-giant, were it not for the ruddy complexion. Or for the large, angry red horns sprouting from just above his temples. An imposing figure, he towers over most, and though his frame is otherwise not unique to someone of his profession, his height makes him seem larger than he otherwise might. Between the horns, Rodrik's hair is two toned: the crest of his coif is a more muted red, as compared to their bordering bones, and the hair that lines his head is a chestnut brown. His red beard he keeps short across his firm jawline, and his eyes are colored gray, almost fading to white.
Personality: "Timid" is not quite the appropriate term to describe Rodrik, though at first blush it might seem accurate. Meek almost to the point of self-doubt, he would rather all live and let live, and is therefore hesitant to enforce his will on others. Though this hesitancy hides an anger that is terrifying to see, it is nevertheless slow to rise and slow to exhibit. A smile generally pulls at his cheeks in greeting, rising even to his eyes, and he's quick to ask about someone's well-being. Only when someone's well-being is threatened in some way does he grow angry, though he tries to guide that anger professionally.

    -Timid
    -Distracted
    -Cynical
-Angry (when blindly or emotionally applied)
History Raised in a traveling theatre troupe by his human mother and teifling father, Rodrik grew up traveling on the road. Business was sparse, in part to a not uncommon bias against teiflings as thieves, and the Intellect's Band was often driven out of their temporary camp by an offended patron that had run crossways with Dell, Rodrik's father, a prideful and angry man. Rodrik learned to keep his head down and to do as told, seeking to avoid confrontation with him, and his mother Lucerne did what she could to comfort and teach him. Yet Rodrik learned much of theatre, from acting to singing to some small degree of writing.
Eventually, the Intellect's Band came to Stillness, and finding themselves snowed in, they stayed long past their initial welcome. Dell, predictably, ran afoul of their previously generous patron, who recognized their situation for what it was. Gathering the troupe's elders, he gave them an ultimatum: leave entirely, or remove Dell from the group. With a history of anger, swindling, and some minor whoring, Dell was cast out, and even Lucerne divorced him. Only Awrin, Rodrik's younger brother, followed him, more out of duty than anything else. His father and brother gone, having ventured off into the cold winter, Rodrik felt the burden of caring for his mother and new family, having been married soon after the divorce. With acting his passion but with it unreliable as a means of providing for his young family, Rodrik took up with the City Guard, who offered good pay and lodging. When the Intellect's Band left in the Spring, Rodrik, his wife René, and their new son Hale remained. And he has come to enjoy his work, even apart from the better pay, though the side looks he notices from time to time at his horns and ruddy skin reminds him of his heritage in ways he'd rather forget.
But still Rodrik wonders what might have become of his father and brother, and whether he might have been able to make things right enough for them to stay.

  • Weapon of choice: Rodrik carries a broadsword of average quality, assigned him from the City Guard captain's stores, and he is rarely without it even while not on duty.
Skills: Rodrik is capable at his job, having shown competency if not exception at it. He is a fair swordsman, a talented writer, and a natural actor. The captain of the guard has taken to coming to him in assistance with writing his reports to Stillness' mayor, a task not usually expected of a guard only five years on. He also, thanks to his teifling heritage, can generate and contro hellfire, though only at times of fury; he has yet to do so on the job.

  • TBD

Name: Lyari Etheryl
Age: 8
Gender: F
Sexual Preference: "Huh? Six yule? I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you're asking me..."
Appearance

Race: Elf

Personality
+Kindhearted+ | +Innocent+ | +Trusting+ | +Diligent+
-Naive- | -Gullible- | -Inexperienced- | -Sheltered-

Lyari views life through a set of rose-tinted glasses: everyone's nice deep down and 'mean people' are just a few kind words away from new friends. Without a moment of hesitation, she'll gladly jump up to help anyone with their problems. However, despite her eagerness, she's still just a kid. She knows of barely anything outside of Stillness and, to her parents' horror, she looks at the outside world with wonder and curiosity. Most of her spare time is spent out in the woods, bundled up in warm clothes, exploring new places and seeing what there is to see. Thus, much of her time is taken up by errands to avoid giving her the chance to run off.

Backstory
Born to two common elf-folk, Lyari seemed just like any other child, but sign after sign revealed the lofty destiny of a future heroine in her. First it was her birth during a lunar eclipse, then her innate affinity for divine magic, and after a few months the seers began to arrive, telling of a grand conflict to come between the child and the rising Usurper King of Darkness in the north.

Being simple elves, Lyari's parents recoiled from the pressure and lofty expectations the world had for their daughter, becoming increasingly protective to the point of running away from home. Searching for a remote location both quiet and hard to reach, they arrived at Stillness, shielding the girl away from any 'grand destiny' related things.

Even against her parents' constant efforts to hide her away, mystical and wondrous events tend to follow her wherever she goes, as if the world itself is calling out to her. For 7 long years, Lyari-- with the help of most of the people of Stillness --has managed to evade most of these 'calls to adventure' by faithfully following her parents' misguided instructions, but it's only a matter of time before destiny catches up to her.

Skills
Mundane skills: Cooking, Cartography, Wilderness survival,
Magical Prodigy: Lyari knows how to cast powerful divine, enchantment, and illusory magics instinctively. She's also prohibited from using any magic unless it's an emergency.
