[BCOLOR=transparent]The sensors array was functioning at peak capacity as it scanned every rock in the system. Much to Shipmaster Vilye'n's joy the system was a treasure trove, asteroid after asteroid was rich in heavy metals and minerals. The beauty of the terrestrial world was only secondary to it's true importance. It represented more land to grow upon and most importantly, it could be used as an industrial world to process the metals from the asteroid belt and create ships for the Swarm.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]"Yes, yes. This is most pleasing"[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] the Shipmaster thought as she looked over the data, the atmosphere was thin but it was certainly correctable. [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]"Get me a direct line with Queen Rajk'ii, she must know what has been found here in order to prepare for immediate colonization."[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] she thought, and instantaneously a drone on the bridge had a communications dish pointed toward the Roni System.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]As the dish was prepped a pair of Corvettes was in the process of cracking an asteroid in order to make sure that the sensors were functioning correctly after their FTL jump. Just as their sensor arrays had told them, the asteroids were in fact rich in metals as pieces of the now separated rock were tumbling through space iron, gold, and titanium among other metals were clearly visible.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Hangar Bay[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]The drones were busy, prepping the small compliment of fighters the [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]Conversion [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]had. They worked their way over the organic surfaces of each fighter, disconnecting small tubes and closing small holes that the drones had cut into the fighters earlier to access inner-systems. All at once the drones dismounted from the fighters and moved back into the dark passages of the [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]Conversion.[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] With their departure the hangar bays wall seemed to part, leaving the hangar fully exposed to the vacuum of space[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]. [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]Were their anything for sound to have vibrated off of an observer would have heard the fighters engines roaring to life, and one by one they lifted from the hangars clutches and made their way into space, heading for the third world in the system.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Shipmaster Valt'n watched with curiosity from the drones as they entered the atmosphere, a small bit of aerodynamic heating was visible for less than a minute from the planets extremely thin atmosphere. She watched as the fighters passed over large ravines and mountains. [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]"It will make a suitable world to populate"[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] she thought as a drone aligned their communications dish to contact the Grand Shipmaster.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Sensors Station[/BCOLOR]
Shipmaster Ilyt'n was watching the sensors closely, intrigued at what the drone had deduced. 'What makes the sixth planet so important, or are we looking to far into this.' she asked the thousands of collective minds she commanded, and yet there was no response for none had any answer that the Shipmaster didn't already have and none had any question that the Shipmaster hadn't already asked. The Shipmaster changed positions, unsettled by the massive structure on the fourth planet.

"Grand Shipmaster, the structure we have found is... Unsettling, it is a whole magnitude larger than the shatter, and it seems to be pulling us towards it. All feel this same pull, and none can shake it." the Shipmaster thought, "We will be holding on the outskirts of this system, while we wait for the fourth planet to intersect with the sixth. I will send a report when this happens with whatever unfurls, and while we wait do send us a science team." the Shipmaster was done with her report as she felt the Harbinger list to one side as it set course for the outskirts of the system.

Destroyer "Ardent Twilight"
Bridge

'Full to starboard, launch interceptors and recall them when we are ready to jump. Wipe anything that will lead them back to J'Tryi.' Shipmaster Ytryl'n gave the commands calmly. She possessed a sense of fear unlike her drones and warriors, but she was managing to keep herself extremely calm as the alien vessels surged toward them. She watched as her fighters swarmed forth from her small fleet, they kept close to their ships, ready to dock at the command. 'All fighters prepare to defend from unknown vessels, do not let them near these ships' she thought, there was no regret in letting her fighters perish if the need arose, they were quickly replaceable.

The Shipmaster nodded in approval as a drone informed her that the Twilight and the Penance had plasma torpedoes ready to fire. At once both Destroyers let forth a volley of scarlet red plasma torpedoes toward the massive Dreadnought, and it responded with much more than the Shipmasters small fleet had to offer it back. From its upper deck what could only have been hundreds of torpedoes launched, their engines burning a bright blue as they roared toward the Penance.

As if on queue the fighters surged forward, their energy weapons pulsing as if lightning as they attempted to destroy the incoming torpedoes, and in the depth of space Shipmaster Ytryl'n could almost swear she could hear each explosion as a beautiful orange cloud of fire appeared from each destroyed torpedo. But it was not enough, nearly half a hundred torpedoes had made it past the fighters as they streaked directly for the Penance, its point defense lasers working at full output.

The Shipmaster knew what had to be done, she could not lose a Destroyer. Two Corvettes reversed course and placed themselves in the way of the incoming torpedoes. They disappeared in brilliant blue explosion that left nothing of them behind. 'Tell me we can jump.' Ytryl'n asked of her drones. The reply was unanimous a jump was possible at this location, 'Good once we are there will will jump again trying to lose these demons.'

With the decision made each vessel accelerated from the system making the dangerous jump into another unknown system, which would be quickly followed by a second jump into another unknown system.
