1000 years after the Force Awakens

The Republic has been in decline for the last 100 years thanks to over expansion, Insurrection, Poor economy, Increase in crime and failing infrastructure across the board. This allowed for the birth of a new threat to the Republic, The Consortium. The Consortium came from the outer rim when groups of planets united their power and resources to form their own regime. They soon spread, Taking, even more, planets into the Consortium. The Consortium is backed by plenty of credits from people with stakes in The Consortium all the way down to the underworld.

The Consortium has even played a part in the decline of the Republic by using their connections to fund rebellion and increase spice trading. The Consortium is big on business and tends to bring money to planets with plenty of corporations. It puts all able citizens to work in some form paying them low living wages until the war with the Republic ends. The Consortium drafts half of its citizens into the military and employs mercenaries to assist in the war effort. The Consortium also have their own force users just like the Republic who have the Jedi. The Knights of the Consortium and they practice in the dark side of the force, seeking power and control. They study Sith teaching but would not be considered true Sith.

The Consortium is an Oligarchy controlled by dark side users, Businessmen, and politicians. They maintain a strict control over Consortium. They do not tolerate crime and punish with harsh sentences like death or slavery. The Consortium is sending out a small but powerful fleet to further advance their domination of the galaxy. This fleet will have soldiers, Mercenaries, and Knights aboard. The final days of the Republic are near.

The Knight's Code

"A Knight is sworn to the Greater Good,

To learn the way of the force, and master life.

A Knight's mind seeks only truth.

A Knight's blade seeks to undo the wicked.

Their might upholds the law of the universe.

Their image strikes fear into the hearts of their enemies.

They choose self-esteem over self pity,
They choose the knowledge of the force,
They choose the perfection of the body,
They choose the singularity of the mind."

This roleplay starts on a large carrier named "Consortium Commissioned Ship [CCS]: Justicar." This will be the ship that will define the universe when it's journey is complete. On board is a group of Knights and hired Mercs who have just left the industrialized planet Grailan,(Core world of the Consortium) Waiting for their destinations. Be free to entertain yourself while aboard as The Justicar has plenty of distractions.

Their ship was a small frigate manned by less than 50 people. It was well armed, but it's main mission would not be a combat role. It was sent out as a but of a diplomatic mission of sorts. The crew of the CSS Justicar was to bounce about the systems and garner support. It was manned by Consortium Navy, and also had a handful of Consortium Knights, as well as a small Marine security force, and a handful of Private Military Consultants [mercenaries!].

The hallways were a sterile white with gray and black trim, and white lights. Doors were all automatic, and opened upon proximity based upon the person's access levels. However more secured doors were opened via keycard or keypad. The cargo hold held a military grade land and air speeder, and speeder bikes. This is also where most armor and weapons lockers were, with a short target range. Within the small, tightly packed hangar on the top level of the ship- was a shuttle that was used to transport a small crew. All of the crew had been assigned a bunk in the dorm floor of the ship. Most people shared a room with 8-10 other people in similar roles. Mercenaries were in a small bunk room close to the Consortium Marine group. The Knights had their own room together, able to bunk about six- and the knight captains had their own rooms, like commanding officers.

Though, in the belly of the ship stood Dare Argonire in a communications and briefing room. It was an ovular room, with an ovular holotable in the middle. There were eight chairs surrounding the table, and the surface of it glowed with a blue ring around the edge. He held a datapad in his hand, and was awaiting the arrival of a few of the Knights on board, as well as one of their Paid Mercenaries, and the ship's Intelligence Officer. They were all informed of this meeting upon embarking the ship (even given a small datapad with a blinking reminder set to inform them of the upcoming meeting), and should be arriving soon.

Dare leaned against the table, almost sitting on it, facing the door. The datapad lit up his stark white skin, and he incessantly scrolled up and down whatever document ha happened to be reading at the time. He was an esteemed Senior Consortium Knight- ranked Knight Captain. He may not be much older than any other knights on board, but he was absolutely more experienced. Their first mission should be an easy one- rather straight forward. But, as they've just left the sprawling city-planet Grailan, would have plenty of time to prepare. It would start with a brief, however.

Nex's room was as bland as the hallways outside of it. His room was a simple set up, One desk with a chair, shelves on the wall, And a bed with the Consortium banner hanging above it on the wall. Sitting at the desk in was Nex reading recent information on the Jedi he's been tracking. A Republic informant had sent a coded message to his personal datapad. The message confirmed that Mufar was a female and Jedi Master. The only promising information received was about her possible species being Sephi, Which was collaborated by other informants. This information should help narrow who she is down.

Nex set the datapad on the desk table and stood up from his seat. He'll wait for more information to come to light but in the meantime, He's better of getting to the meeting onboard. The current objective was priority number one while his hunt for Mufar was to remain second. Nex is one of the only two Knight Commander assigned to this mission and together will oversee a group of Knights, A mercenary and an intelligence officer all with their own talents. Nex walked away from his desk and out his room door into a brightly lite white hallway.

Nex made his way towards the communications room with a flat expression on his face. The door slid open and Nex walked in noticing Dare Argonitre busy scrolling through his datapad. Dare and Nex were of the same rank but Dare had been one before him and taught at the academy. They had worked together a couple of times in the past in mission involving the retrieval of Sith/Jedi artifacts. Dare was skilled, reliable, and adaptable, Someone good to have on your team.
"Hello Dare, It will be an honor working with you on this assignment." As Nex greeted Dare he put a smile on his face and extended his hand for a hand. The thing about Nex is he'll smile even when he not happy just in order make other comfortable in his presence. In truth, Nex and Dare really didn't know each other well and weren't friends but acquaintances.

Nex then took his seat at the table and waited for the others arrival patiently. He figured they wouldn't be too long as they all were alerted of the briefing time just as he was.

[BCOLOR=transparent]Distracted was the best word to use right now. The other Knights would have either been in the conference area already. Or their rooms. While Corbin was looking at the tech in place of the ship. Some of the engineers of the ship were looking at him. Watching him. He got, he looked funny. Nothing new to him. He took a second to look at the data from the ship’s archives. The datapad had been discarded off somewhere and he was in no hurry to go look for it. He knew there was a briefing shortly, but Corbin had found himself a new toy in the calibrations of this ship.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“You like tech?” asked one of the techies of the ship. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Corbin briefly nodded.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“Depends on the tech,” Corbin responded, sifting through calibrations.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“You like the ship?” the techy asked.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“Not going to complain,” Corbin responded, “Is it surprising?”[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“Well the Knights know stuff about the tech, but they don’t Know stuff about the tech. You seem to look like you know stuff. I mean, you are a Knight, aren’t you?”[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“Yes,” Corbin responded.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]The techy nodded.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“Scott is my name,” the techy continued.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“Corbin,” [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“Odd name,”[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“So is Scott,”[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Scott laughed. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“You’re unusual for a Knight. I assumed all of you were stuck up assholes,”[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“We all are,”[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Scott laughs again. He places a hand on Corbin’s shoulder and gives it a good pat. Corbin startled because his datapad goes off. Shit. Didn’t they know that this was more important than their briefing? Corbin looked at Scott.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“Personally, here are my projections to make the network run a little smoother on the ship,” Corbin gave Scott a look at some prototype code he was working on to make the computers not run like a fucking snail. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“Shit, that’s pretty good,” Scott sounded impressed. The datapad practically screaming at him now. Corbin found the datapad by sound alone.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“Have to go,” Corbin said.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]He never understood the point of these briefings. All the information was already in the data pads. Something they could read over. It was a lot of sitting and gesturing in chairs. Corbin made his way into the meeting area. Only to see Dare and Nex in the room already. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]He didn’t have much thoughts on either of them. Dare and him, respectfully butted heads from time to time. Because Dare knew Corbin as the non planning, non briefing one. Their styles couldn’t be more opposite. While he didn’t know Nex as much as he knew Dare. Only heard a few things about him. Supposedly Dare and Nex were close partners.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“Datapad alarm is annoying,” Corbin said taking a seat in the center of the table’s width. He swiveled the chair side to side for a brief second, before settling. He didn’t have his half mask on at current, which revealed his thin pale lips. Making him look like a space vampire. Corbin rubbed his knuckles. So, what to talk about?[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]“Was working on fixing up to the program used in the network, to make the network on the ship run smoother. Much smoother,” Corbin added in the awkwardly silent room. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Corbin flipped through the datapad for a second. To at least look like he was busy focusing on the mission. It wasn’t that he was a rebellious child. He was merely indifferent to it all. There was a certain rush that came in simply going in with as little information possible. Not saying he liked brute force and darkness. Simply made things more interesting. [/BCOLOR]

Versis organized her room into such a tight chaos that even the smartest human would have a hard time pilfering through it. As she neatly hid her bunker, her holocomm lit up. There was the face of Cooper Barnes, another intelligence officer she’d met within the Consortium. He was human, but he was good people—at least as much as she was concerned.
“Wow, fancy digs,” he said, as his hologram looked around.
“This is what happens when you move up in the world.”
“Don’t lie,” he said, frowning. “You didn’t move up.”
“And you didn’t have sex with sixty-seven Republic members jut to get the sad coordinates to a moisture farm.”
“And this is why no one likes you, Versis. You are not coy or polite in your deconstruction of living beings.” He sighed. “Enjoying it among the force-users?”
“I haven’t gotten well acquainted, but I should be fine.”
“Oh, I thought I was fine. But once I was mentally mined for data and left naked and vomiting on a couch for seventeen days.” He sighed. “Fortunately, I didn’t give away any information, but do be careful.”
“I’m a Chiss, I’m always careful.” Versis placed her hands on her hips.
“I know, but Chiss aren’t force users. You don’t know what is going on.”
“I was on Garseg for so long, that I know.“
“Shit. I forgot. Do stay sane, Versis. The next place we meet, we should get a drink.”
“Of course.”
Cooper disappeared into holocomm like some sort of ethereal snow.

Versis’s datapad illuminated about that time. She was to meet the Consortium Knights shortly. She straightened her outfit, which was a pale gray uniform with pants and a stern jacket and hat. Her rank was displayed upon her breast as she moved along the Justicar. People moved aside and saluted, and she barely returned the favor. They hadn’ t earned her respect.

Versis entered the meeting. She glanced at the knights and gave a soft salute that was custom for a high-ranking officer to give a knight. She took her position at the table. Yet her eyes were on her datapad. “High Ranking InformationOfficer Versis present,” she said. “I’m just finishing up some business.”

Bullets blasted through the air like a spaceship engine blowing up on impact. The consistent noise of pumping the rifle and pulling the trigger rang in Li Shou's ears. One by one, the magazine swiftly went away, an astounding show of accuracy rippling through her keen focus and strong determination. She hit the target again in the middle of its forehead. The rifle jolted back a little, but Li Shou kept it steady and ready as she hit the target again and again.

A blue, pixeled datapad suddenly began to blink. On. Off. On. Off. Li Shou couldn't hide her frown. It was that meeting everyone had been talking about; The one where she met up with a special intelligence officer and a few Consortium knights to get a briefing from the Consortium Knight Captain, Dare. She grimaced.
Li Shou supposed she could give up some of her time for this meeting. Steel toed boots hit the floor as the mercenary swiftly made her way down the wall, eager to be punctual, but not eager to attend.

Li Shou wiped her frown away and composed her attitude as she began to approach the mess hall.
The hallways were sleek, almost blinding with their pure white panels. Li Shou gripped the datapad she'd received and composed her demeanor just before the large double doors slid open.

She noticed a few others in the room, already sitting down and waiting patiently for the briefing to start– and for her to get to the empty seat.
"Greetings," she offered everyone calmly, taking an empty seat next to one of the knights. She played with her hair a little, noticing that not every seat was filled. "There's someone missing," she noted. "Who is it?"

In. Out. Deep. Slow. Words floated through Eralin's head as she sat cross-legged on her bed, trying to center herself before the meeting. She was nervous. She always was. Even though the emotion was strong, it was a weak one to harness and culture for the sake of the force, so she tried to suppress it and keep it from taking over her actions.

She had not been a knight for long, but she was already on this mission - this giant ship, with skilled and diverse people... she never would have expected being in a place like this. Her bedroom was simple, as was befitting her, a small but comfortable bed, an empty desk and a chair next to it. She didn't have many clothes to bring with her, and even her datapad was incredibly out of date - only good for receiving and sending messages, really. Her eyes opened as a harsh beeping alerted her that there was a new message waiting for her. Eralin sighed. She wasn't able to calm herself. She never was. The knight strode over to the desk and checked the datapad - a meeting had been called, and she was on the invite list.

Eralin took another deep breath and grabbed her pair of lightsabers and attached them to her belt. While she never expected a fight to break out on the ship, she was connected to the items, and never wanted to go anywhere without them - they were familiar to her, a part of her, and she felt naked if she was not wearing them. You can do this, she thought to herself as the door slid open to let her out into the hall.

A short walk later, she entered the conference room - a few moments after everyone else, it seemed. Her cheeks flushed as she realized she was likely one of the last ones to arrive, and looked around. An interesting group. She had seen all of them around, and of course knew the other knights on board at least in passing. She nodded to everybody, trying to hide her embarrassment. "Hello, everyone. I hope I am not late."

He gave a nod briefly to all the others as they slid through the door into the room. He wouldnt speak to any of them, at least not yet. Though he did stand as Officer Versis entered. He may not be much higher in the food chain than she herself was, but he would display respect for the only officer on his operation. HE also shook Captain Nex's hand politely. Lazily, his eyes drifted to the chrono on thE datapad he was perusing. The time flipped to the next minute as his eyes arrived.

*Good*, he thought. *Punctual as possible*. He knew this was everyone's first few hours aboard, and half expected one of them to be late. Thankfully, in his mind, everyone was of a mature age and apparently able to budget their time.

He turned around to face the others around the table, and slid his datapad across the table, close to the center. As it slowed to a halt, a hologram pixelated above it, sharpening after it was up.

It was a digital readout and visual of a planet.

"Akiva" Dare said plainly. Crossing his arms, he continued. "This is the first planet we're headed. The mission packet you were all given upon being assigned to this ship only gave you what was safe enough to distribute publicly. This is eyes only information right now." He spared a glance to everyone to make sure they understood that eyes only meant this information would not be able to be viewed again.

The digital readout stated the climate of the planet, as well as other basic information . Basically the planet was a tropical one with many important places to the republic, and held a lot of history.

"The Consortium wants to start off big, but not wanting to bite off more than it can chew. Akiva has held a place in the Republic heart for a long time, since back when the Galactic Empire failed. It's also in the outer rim terriroties, allowing us some access to republic trade routes. However as of late it has become more of a figurehead than actually being of much use, as most of the money, as always, has been orbiting the galaxy's core." He cleared his throat and reached over to the datapad, tapping a button on its side gently. The floating hologram changed to a map of the city they were to visit.

"Much has changed here, but we ate to visit the capital, Myrra. Captain Nex and I will be nearby following up on a lead for an Order VIP we need to gan contact with." he gave a nod to the pale Knight.

"Officer Vex, the other knights, and our... 'security consultant'" he emphasized the phrase, as he knew the mercenary was likely overqualifted for this kind of mission. Though this is why he requested she be brought along. Someone with good martial skill and mindset was always good to have along if needing to improvise situations. "Will be taking a trip to their Satrapy Building- their capital building. You are to meet with their officials that govern the planet- their Governor Wildis Hidalgo, and his advisory council: senior councilor Picks Artesia, and councilors Mercy, Phillipa, and Rodex. They are to be persuaded to join the Consortium efforts in whatever means you see fit. I am currently placing Officer Versis in charge of your group, and Order Captains will be providing remote assistance if possible."

He shifted to face the Chiss officer, "I'll be providing her with all the necessary information before departure." there was a document giving a layout of the city, and known officials.

Dare continued to lay out points of interest within the city, and let the team know that the planet's governing body, the Satrapy, was highly convinced by money flow, but were also militarily weak, and may budge if offered protection from republic backlash.

"SO far, do we have any questions?"

Dare asked genuinely. He may be stern, but he was not unforgiving to his teammates.

[BCOLOR=transparent]"This is eyes only information right now." [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Cute, but he did know he could hack their datapad, right? Or had they forgotten he could do something like that? Or did they know he would have done something like that and it’s why he had said something about it? It didn’t worry him. No one had arrested him yet, or scold him. He liked to understand the technology he was given. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]"Much has changed here, but we aim to visit the capital, Myrra. Captain Nex and I will be nearby following up on a lead for an Order VIP we need to gain contact with." he gave a nod to the pale Knight. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]The briefing continued. Though it was a lot of words in a single monologue and he was getting anxious. Again it was nothing like he was eager to go out and do what he needed to do. He didn’t take action without some thought, but when someone is trying to drill a good three or four paragraphs of information into your brain it can get a little tedious.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]"SO far, do we have any questions?"[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]“For simplicity sake,” Corbin began slowly with his hand slightly raised, “In order to gain contact with this Order VIP. You want me to hack a system? Or do you want me to talk to someone? I can do either or. But one is going to go a lot better than the other.”[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]It’s just how people worked. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]While he explained the scenario well. What they lacked was in details of their specific orders. He just hoped Dare would keep it short. A simple, hack a computer or go talk to this person would suffice. He prayed for a short answer. Not a long winded one with many instructions.[/BCOLOR]

The team had now arrived with Knight Corbin Abelas being the first. Then came Martev'ersi'seris, But is called Versis for short. Why must Chiss names be so long and ridiculous? Nex was glad she wasn't one of the Chiss who requested their full name to said, Made things less complicated. The next person to enter was Wang li Shou, The mercenary that will accompany them on this operation. The last to enter the room was Eralin Holluto, Another Knight who had medical training, Should prove helpful in the field.

With all them seated, Dare went ahead and briefed them, Showing information that will only be seen by them. The planet they will be going to would be Akiva, An outer rim planet that holds historical importance to the republic. Capturing this planet will send a message and also win the Consortium some trade routes. When Nex found out money was one of the main motivations for the governing body, The Satrapy, It confirmed this would be an easy operation, To say the least. Nex was considering surprises, He always did but he would be ready for whatever might come their way.

Once Dare finished he open up for question others might have. One thing did stick out to Nex, He found it interesting. The lower Knight would be following the orders of someone besides them. Versis isn't a Knight, Would they reject her leadership on that alone? Pride has lead to the fall of many Knights before them. Nex decided to remain silent unless others would care to hear from him. There wasn't much for him to say really.

Versis finished her review of her personal datapad, and placed it into her lap. Everyone was at this meeting. The two knight captains were both of different races, standings, beliefs, and skills. She’d read up on them. They were good people. The Consortium Intelligence only had good things to say about them—even if there were a lot of redacted places in their files.

Then there was the mercenary—something, something, bad human name. Versis didn’t have time to catalogue their names. And humans always complained about Chiss names, but at least their name had function. Human names were flights of fancy. Still, for whatever silly name that the human mercenary had, her file read of competency, and she’d had a military background. That was easier to manage than having to explain the hierarchy.

The other two knights were different in stature and demeanor. The junior knight had a peculiar background, while the other one had a background in technology. That was not something that Versis had expected, but she was thankful that the Intelligence Branch had nigh-unhackable defenses. Not that they hadn’t ever lost anything, but it may have just been things that they wanted lost.

She turned her head towards Knight Argonire as he explained the mission. It was odd not getting a briefing before this moment, but she wasn’t heading this venture—the Knights were. Second-hand information would be how they would handle this. Of course, that didn’t mean that the Intelligence Branch couldn’t fill her in on pertinent information, but it would all be roots from Knight Argonire’s tree.

Eyes only eh? Good thing that Versis had a mind like a steel trap. She nodded. It seemed like the two Knight Captains would be handling their own job. That meant she would be the highest ranking member of her group. That was worrisome. Did they teach Consortium Knights to follow orders from non-Knights? She didn’t sigh. No, she just nodded. She’d sigh in her private quarters.

When Knight Argonire went over a list of names of people that he needed convinced, Versis noted them. Yet, she didn’t leave it entirely up to her mind, though quick, and typed them out onto her datapad. She would request appropriate information from the Information Branch. They had to know more than the Knights. If they didn’t, well, she wasn’t trained in diplomacy and charisma for nothing. And it seemed like one of the knights, Corbin, was well versed in hacking. Still—so odd for someone in the force. Ah well, each their own passion.

“Any of these councilors seem like they could be leaned upon? Sympathizers? Aggressors that we’ll have to make sure to cage. Figuratively—of course.” Versis smirked. “A cage of words and lies is always stronger than metal.” She looked over the three she’d be taking. Hacker Knight, useful but mostly a wildcard. A Military Mercenary, definitely useful but probably only with a gun. And a backwater Knight who lacked combat but made up for it in force abilities. Sigh. “While, going in blind is a specialty of mine. I’d like to keep our team as well informed as possible. Working in groups is… seldom… in Intelligence. So, anything that is not in my report or that you can say in front of the others, would be helpful. Lessen briefing time later on.” There was an odd emphases on in front of others. Despite the fact that they were a team, Knight Argonire was privilege to things they were not. And in turn, she might bare that privilege as well. Information made a nice leash.
