Ryan Kronis

General Information

Full Name:
Lieutenant Ryan Kronis

Nickname(s):
Rye, Lil' Rye-rye

Gender:
Male

Age:
35

Race:
Human

Sexuality:
Knowledge-sexual(Heterosexual)

Allegiance:
His allegiance is to the Queendom of Donnwick but he hails from Bellhorne, Eredien.

Appearance:
Ryan isn't all that tall, standing at only 5'8 with a physicality that isn't by any means bad, just average, if not somewhat below average. His musculutar borders on the wiry side though he's not very well defined or anything. He wears an eyepatch over his left eye usually, mostly when reading, but this is not because he is missing one of his beautiful hazel eyes as both are still in tact. His hands are littered with a few burns and scars but that just adds flavor. His complexion is somewhat pale yet smooth, most likely from spending the majority of his time indoors, but his hands are littered with burns and bruises. His hair is somewhat well kept, mostly to keep out of the way of his work and he carries a cheeky and aloof look, most commonly a grin.

Personal Attributes

Personality:
At a first glance, Ryan might come across as unhinged, mad and disconnected. That's not to say he prefers no company or finds himself quiet or feeling awkward. Oh no, It's far worse than that. He prefers the company of people and he does find himself talking quite a bit, and never feeling awkward about the things he says, no matter how crazy and out of place they might be. But truth be told, he's really just an intelligent and eccentric man who might have seen and memorized way too many things.

Despite how draining he might be to hang around, he's genuinely a nice guy, if not a little conniving. He doesn't mind sticking his neck out for others and being afraid of risking his life is something he seems to lack alltogether. He doesn't mind doing the occasional favor, and while he might not do them with the intention of being owed, he isn't so far above reminding people of those favors when it comes to getting something he wants.

Backstory:
Born to Tyrus and Clara Kronis of Bellhorn, Ryan was always a quick study. He learned to speak before he could even walk, and was able to read earlier than most of his peers. As he grew it became pretty obvious he was well ahead of his peers mentally, and this became even more clear as he aged, in large part thanks to his powerful memory. He was the pride of his parents.

Well…that is…until they found his magical affinity was that of Alchemy (how lame!). His parents thought of Alchemy as largely useless, especially his mother, it was a little upsetting to them that their baby boy wasn't born with Elementa or even Illusio, but hey, he was still their son! To them, it was just one small disappointment, but to Ryan, it was an opportunity.

Fueled by underdog vibes and quite a bit of coffee and knowledge, Ryan was quick to learn the ways of Alchemic magic and climbed his way to becoming highly skilled in the school, particularly the art of enchanting and blessing gear and utensils. It was through this that he made his living, selling gear for things like protection, pranks, and parties (mostly pranks) to support himself financially while he continued to learn. But one can only sit with his nose in a book for long. Eventually, you get bored of reading about things and would rather experience them, and that's where Ryan quickly found himself: hungry for adventure and thirsty for action.

It was this thirst that led him to enlist in the military, and in the frontlines as well, much to his father's chagrin and his mother's pride. Tyrus wanted him to keep his head down and nose in a book while Clara herself took pride in his decision. Her son…a military man! Admittedly, both had little to no confidence in his ability to take care of himself on the battlefield. Sure, they'd seen Alchemists do some cool stuff, but those guys were at it for a long time. Their lil' Rye-Rye was just a nerd, a super nerd sure, but still a nerd. Could he survive fighting against these terrible monsters?

Could he do it..?

Well, it turns out he could. Not only did he return alive, he had made quite the name for himself on the battlefield. As the years passed his reputation and skill grew until he had caught the attention of the Hellhounds where he's served for the last 5 years.

Strengths:
  • Eidetic Memory: Ryan has incredible memory. He only has to see, hear, smell, touch or even taste something and he'll memorize it and can recall that information with perfect accuracy.
  • High Intelligence and ingenuity: Perhaps his most useful trait, he's pretty smart, bookwise and field wise. Need a strategy planned? He's your man. Need help with dat' potion? He's your guy.
  • Studious: The guy loves knowledge. He's always on the prowl for information.
  • Fairly Proficient in the ways of combat with a staff.

Weaknesses:
  • Eccentricity: Not a formal weakness, but his eccentric attitude and seemingly eagerness to take risks can make him difficult to work with.
  • Durability: A direct effect of his decision to wear light armor, Ryan can't take very many blows before being subdued.
  • Physicality: Ryan finds himself placed in the lower tiers of the Hellhounds when it comes to physical strength. He's more brains than brawn.

Magic & Equipment

Magic:
Ryan is much more than "well-versed" in the school of Alchemy. He's studied and practiced for years and this combined with his memory and intelligence is what results in his mad skills with the magic. While he is capable of creating golems, his experise lies in the enchanting portion of Alchemy. He's capable of placing many enchantments on items that can augment their many uses. Need a sword that can cleave through rock with ease? Sure thing! Heck, he can even give you some enchanted socks that moo every time you take a step (He wears a pair that honks like a goose on occasion).

Weapon of Choice:
Enchanted Staff: Ryan's favorite utensil to do anything with. Set someone on fire, scratch his back, pick up his socks off the floor or poke someone with. He sinks a lot of time and effort into taking care of this baby. While he has yet to formally name it, this staff is his main weapon for offense. The staff is capable of mimicing Elementia magic and is his favored form of offense.

Gear:
  • Beloved enchanted staff
  • Leather armor
  • Seaxe kept strapped to his side
  • A coin pouch with 10 gold pieces, 3 silver and 15 copper

Born in the realm of Nidavellir, Astfridur was a bit of a wild child. Throughout her childhood and adolescence she had developed a reputation of being difficult, rambunctious, a talented figher, and shockingly beautiful. She often picked fights with other dwarves for fun, and would venture out of the mountains and into the open, dangerous lands of Nidavellir. As she grew older she was allowed into battle with enemy dwarven clans, proving to be a valuable asset on the battlefield.

A pretty thing, she was married quickly, while she was young, to another young dwarf, a softspoken and talented Blacksmith by the name of Harbek. The two were madly in love, but their relationship would not last for long.

17 Years of Age, Lightning Chakra Nature Change

Skills
Handy fellow: Itsuki is quite skilled with Ninja tools, but in particular he knows his way around with steel wire.
Sleight of Hand: Useful for his many tricks, he's very deft with his hands, capable of pulling off many card tricks, picking pockets or unlocking doors without being noticed.
Field Fox: Itsuki knows his way with animals and plants. He can normally tell what an animal's intentions or needs are and is capable of identifying many different herbs, plants, and all that good stuff.
Genjutsu: Itsuki is particularly well versed in Genjutsu, capable of fooling nearly all 5 senses in a way so subtle, one might not even realize they're in a genjutsu.

Jutsu
Fire Release: Dragon Fire Technique - The user breathes fire along a cord or any other type of long object, which rushes forward in a straight line catching the enemy on fire.

Fire Release: Dragon Flame Song - The user expels fire from his mouth in the form of several dragon head-shaped fireballs.

Shadow Clone Jutsu: Your basic Shadow clone Jutsu. Physical clones are created of the user that vanquish after a single blow. the chakra used to form them is returned to the user, along with the experience and knowledge that clone has gained.

Fire Release: Great Blaze Ball: A large ball of fire is formed and expelled from the user's mouth or fire is sprayed similar to a flamethrower.

Summoning Jutsu: Itsuki summons Nagisa, a small grey fox that commonly sits upon his shoulder. The fox is capable of performing Wind Release: Vacuum Wave, something often used in conjunction with Itsuki's Fire Release.

History: Itsuki's clan, the Oinari, lived in a small town on the border between Kusagakure and the Land of Fire. The clan made their living from farming and selling rice, some of the best rice in the Land of Fire and even the Land of Earth. Despite being farmers, certain members of the clan did learn the ways of Shinobi, using special Hidan techniques despite not allying themselves with any of the Shinobi villages, for the most part. Sometimes they would be contracted by either the Land of Earth or Fire for specific jobs, but never did they take any that would result in choosing a side, something they saw as playing it safe but would ultimately end in their destruction.

The Third Shinobi World was brutal for both Iwagakure and Konohagakure, but even more so for the Oinari clan and the village they lived in. Caught between both Shinobi villages, Itsuki witnessed the war effects of the war first hand as a child. His father, the head of the clan, dictated that the Oinari would not choose a side, instead choosing to ceasing any business with either village except for the sale of rice. Unfortunately, Iwagakure ANBU tainted a shipment of rice to Konoha, resulting in the death of many Shinobi and civilians and incurring konoha's wrath.

Konoha responded by staging a military occupation of Itsuki's village, something Iwagakure expected and waited for, turning the village into a battlefield with the Oinari stuck in the middle. With no other option, the clan fought back against both sides, a losing battle but one better than sitting back and becoming casualties of war. By the time the smoke cleared and the battle was over, Konoha had claimed victory, forcing Iwakagure forces to retreat. The Oinari clan's numbers were reduced drastically, leaving only the head family alive, something Itsuki strongly resents both Konoha and Iwagakure for.

With the rice fields destroyed and their forces reduced, Itsuki's father made a plea to the Third Hokage to seek asylum behind the walls of Konoha, something Lord Third not only agreed to but granted them full citizenship of the leaf, a way to apologize for the plight of the Oinari.

Now living behind the walls of a village he was not fond of, Itsuki found himself getting into trouble quite a bit for playing pranks on other villagers, some malicious, some playful. It didn't help that Itsuki often found himself and his sisters picked on for being from outside the village, often called a pity case. Scolded by his father about forgetting the past and looking to the future, a future with the Leaf, Itsuki was placed in the Shinobi program as a way to help him see beyond his history.

When the Ninetails attacked, Itsuki's father was on the battlefield with Lord Third while Itsuki and his mother instead focused on rescuing as many civilians as they could, something troubling for Itsuki, yet something he could sympathize with. Yuuto would recognize the night as the moment the Oinari proved their loyalty to Konoha and earned the trust and love of the village, while Itsuki instead believes the village has simply turned their discrimination from the Oinari to the Uchiha.

A Genin now, Itsuki, along with two other Academy students, were the last scrapings in the bottom of the pot after Ninja teams were assigned. Lord Third, not willing to let such talent go to waste, assigned Itsuki with another Konoha refugee, Nekozawa Moriko, and Uzumaki Himari of the famed Uzumaki clan under a previous ANBU member turned Jonin. Their first meeting begins soon...

Human ♠ Male ♠ 6'8 ♠ 230 lbs ♠ Boatswain
Credit goes to this wonderful artist

Strengths:
  • Mountain man: Weighing just over 230 pounds and standing at 6'8, Noshad is just as strong and durable as one would think someone of his size. Lifting heavy things is no problem for him, and it takes quite a bit to knock him on his ass.
  • Intimidation: Despite his excitable and boisterous attitude, Noshad can be intimidating when he wants to be. His normally bright expression can become dark in the blink of an eye, the warmth in his voice cold.
Weaknesses:
  • Get a'hold of yerself': Noshad has terrible self-control, especially when it comes to gambling or betting. While he's not as bad as he used to be, he still has a hard time holding onto coin. Give him 50 pieces, odds are he'll come back with 15.
  • Impulsive: Noshad isn't the best when it comes to planning things out. He usually acts on his first thought unless corrected or something is pointed out to him.
  • Stealthy, he is not: Noshad is not by any means stealthy. Maybe in the darkness of the night when surrounded by loud noises and everyone is half blind he'll be able to sneak by, but for the most part, he's not very quiet and his size makes it hard to sneak around.
History: Born and raised in Farenthaes, Noshad was the eldest of two sons born to Munir and Bahija Amer. His father made a living as a Freemason, a craft that his younger brother, Qadir took to surprisingly well. While they were far from rich, they lived a modest life with a roof over their head and food in their bellies every night.

While his brother learned the ways of Masonry on the job with his father, Noshad preferred to spend his time on the streets, looking for fun and getting himself into plenty of trouble. Occasionally he would help with his father's business, but only to spend whatever bit of coin his father would pay him on his pursuit of fun. As he grew older his desire to party all the time and his need for money to do so led him to gamble, something that he quickly became addicted to.

Noshad would bring every penny he had to any gambling ring he could find in the hopes of winning big, much to his family's chagrin. Despite his long, long losing streaks he refused to give up, always claiming that he could feel a big win creeping upon him, a win that never came. His losses grew to be so big that he sold whatever he owned for whatever coin he could get, only to lose it on gambling again.

Eventually, his debt became so outstanding he could not only no longer gamble, but he had nothing to his name but the clothes on his back. His father refused to lend him any more money or even let him work with him, effectively severing ties with Noshad. Even his brother, now married and with a son on the way refused to help him.

While wandering the streets one night, drinking from a bottle of cheap wine, Noshad was cornered by a group of men sent by the people he owed his money to. Not only did they take his wine (the monsters), but they beat him viciously, leaving him injured and with an outstanding minimum payment to make before the months end. Ironically, the wine, the beating, and ostracization from his family led him to finally realize he had a problem and needed help. It's also what led him to piracy.

Looking for a way to make good money fast, Noshad found himself becoming the cabin boy on a ship for a two-week long trip. The pay was decent, but he learned many skills on the ship, found the travel fun, and, most importantly, it kept him away from gambling his hard earned money. Unfortunately, his disappearance for two weeks left his debtors uneasy and upon his return threatened him one last time, this time through his family. Should he leave and take too long to return, his family would pay his debt in blood.

With no other skills but the ones he learned on the ship and his family in trouble, Noshad began taking frequent trips, increasing his skills and making more money. Soon he stopped taking trips as a cabin boy and started taking them as a Boatswain, increasing the amount of pay he received.

With only one more large payment to make, he could finally think about spending his money on himself and getting back in touch with his family. His search for work took him to Oshanlenor, where he happened upon Draynor's poster. Seeing this as a way to make enough money to pay off his debt and fill his own pockets, he decided this would be the voyage that would free him of his debt.

•Name: Setsuko Hayashi

•Age: 230, mid 20s in appearance.

Gender: Female

Height: 5'4

•Division: 9th

•Rank: 4th Seat

•Personality: Observant and meticulous, Setsuko seems to be the perfect fit for Seireitei's security force. A distrustful person by nature, she's become adept at watching people and scenarios, picking up the smallest details from what she can see. While often believed to be distant and maybe even cold by many, her squad mates, and those whom truly know her understand that she's simply a person that takes time to form connections.

Unfortunately, Setsuko does have a habit of being critical of others, and often it reveals itself in her speech, tone or even expressions, rubbing people the wrong way in the process. She tends to be vindictive, holding a grudge against those who slight her until justice has been served. However, it is this vindictiveness that contributes to her strong sense of justice.

•Biography: An only child, Setsuko lived with her father Haruto in the 60th District of the Rukongai. While nowhere near as dangerous and unruly as the districts above it, the 59th district had such a foul reputation that no one would even wear sandals for fear of having them stolen. Keeping a watchful eye of their surroundings and having an attention for detail didn't keep them from being robbed or attacked, but it reduced the number of times they faced such trouble. While her father was just as careful he was far more kind about it than his daughter. Often they'd be told they were as different as the seasons of winter and summer.

Both often dreamed and spoke of living in easier, better conditions, but Haruto believed that they could do so by bringing law and order to the 60th district. With enough hard work and time, they could reverse the sandalless 60th district and improve its living conditions. He reasoned that the best way to achieve his goal was to become a Shinigami, the embodiment of law and justice. Unfortunately, even he knew he had to get into shape before he could truly hope to become a Shinigami, and soon after him, Setsuko. They both had large Reiatsu, but not much else in the way of combat. Luckily, he had little Setsuko to cheer him on, but sadly his dream would be shortlived.

Not long after he succeeded in becoming a Shinigami, he was frequently sent out into the world of the living, often leaving for months at a time. On one such mission he never returned, assumed to be dead. However, word of her father's fate never got back to Setsuo, who for the longest time believed her father was simply on an extended mission. As she waited, her faith turned to doubt, and her doubt eventually into misery. She realized her father wasn''t coming back. As her heart filled with sadness a biting cold wind would blow around her constantly, her reiatsu leaking in response to her misery. Eventually, it became enough of a problem that Shinigami came to handle the issue. It was this encounter that lead to her becoming a Shinigami and finding out what little she could about her father's fate.

Determined to bring his dream to fruition, she worked tirelessly, improving her skills and climbing her way up the ranks of the Gotei 13's 9th division, where she now sits as its 4th seat. She takes her job of protecting the Rukongai seriously, and hopes that one day she can bring the law and order her father sought to the outer districts, starting with her home of 60.

Skills:
  • Shunpo: Sestuko is proficient in Shunpo. She's not going to blow anyone's mind with it, but it's enough for someone of her position.
  • Strong Spiritual Pressure: Setsuko's spiritual pressure is quite large. It's white in appearance and creates the sensation of a piercing and freezing cold wind surrounding her.
  • Kenjutsu: Setsuko is well trained in the use of her sword, her preferred method of combat. She's considered one of the better swordsmen of her squad.
  • Kidou: Her kido is below average, as she hardly relies on it. She can cast low-level Kidou without incantation, but middle-level kidou spells and up are beyond her grasp.
  • Hakuda: Setsuko is a skilled combatant without her sword. While she isn't a technical fighter, she's an intelligent one. Most of what she knows comes from living in the higher numbered Rukongai districts.

•Zanpakuto: Her Zanpakuto, Hyoga, is a slightly elongated Katana with a dark blue hilt marred with white. The guard is a simple oval shapes guard. Hyoga's spirit itself is a white, shimmering owl. (Like in her picture!)

Shikai Release: Bring forth the northern winds, Hyoga.
images

Hyoga is capable of creating and sending powerful winter wind filled with snow and ice towards its opponent. Whatever part of its target the wind makes contact with will become frozen and useless (i.e. an arm would be unable to move). What's more, should Hyoga make contact with the frozen target itself, it will shatter.

"Come on, this could be your lucky day! Keep your eye on the prize and win some Kan!" A man sat on a rotted wooden stool, a makeshift table before him as he shuffled cups around, a stone hidden inside one of them. "Come on, you've all got mouths to feed, don't ya? Don't go let em' go hungry!" He goaded the crowd that surrounded him into betting as he wore his most charming grin.

The swindler was worried they'd have to move down a district. Thanks to his sleight of hand, he and his cohorts had managed to snag a somewhat decent amount of Kan from the desperate people. It wasn't as much as he could make in a lower numbered district, but the people there were far less desperate. He'd have to leave soon, he didn't desire to have his earnings stripped away from him. "Come on! This could be your only chance to have something other than rice for dinner!"

"I like the sound of that," Setsuko spoke up as she walked through the crowd, a path cleared for her. Though the sight of a Shinigami was rare in these parts, these people knew her. Some of them had known her when she was much smaller. Others had seen her strolling through the district and greeting people.

The swindler felt panic rising in his belly, but it was soon subsided by anticipation. "Oh, a Shinigami! How exciting!" He was willing to bet she had far more money than any of these people. "Step right up! Just guess which cup the rock is under and you win!"

"Sounds easy." Setsuko smiled slightly and nodded her head, placing a few coins on the makeshift table. She blinked in surprise when the swindler moved immediately, lifting a cup to show her the rock before covering it and shuffling the cups.

He moved his hands quickly, but he only shuffled a few times before raising his arms. "Okay, the choice is yours!" He declared. "Choose carefully!"

Setsuko reached out and flicked one of the cups with her finger. The swindler raised the cup, revealing the rock beneath. "Congratulations! You got it!" He placed the same amount of coin on the table next to hers. "But...why don't we try again, eh? Double down?"

"....Sure." Setsuko agreed. "I don't mind taking more of your money." The game was played once again. This time the swindler shuffled the cups much faster than before, but once again, Setsuko chose the correct one, earning twice the amount she had on the table.

"Alright, alright...one more time! Let's triple the entire pot!" The swindler declared, a smirk on his face. "If you win, you get three times the Kan on the table! I hope you're not too sca-"

"Okay." Setsuko agreed readily, her slight smile still on her face. The surprise on the man's face almost caused her to smirk a little, but she kept her cool. "I think I'm pretty good at this game."

"Yeah...so far." The man was suspicious, but still, he started the game, shuffling the cups. This time, the cups moved so fast that the crowd surrounding them "Ooh'd" in awe, unable to keep up with his hands. Ever so subtly, he flicked his wrist, raising the cup and knocking the rock onto his lap. No response from the crowd signaled that he had succeeded in his gambit. "Alright...guess!"

Setsuko was quiet for a moment, allowing her smile to grow into a smirk. "You moved the rock from the cups onto your lap." She had seen it. His hands were fast, but her eyes were faster. She didn't wait for him to deny it. She swung her arm across the table, knocking over all three cups to reveal nothing beneath them.

The crowd started to grow angry upon the reveal, yelling and demanding their money back. "Wait, wait!" The swindler jumped up immediately, raising his hands.

"Don't speak. Just hand these people back their money and leave." Setsuko demanded. To show she meant business, she placed a hand on the hilt of her Zanpakuto, earning a shriek from the swindler. She watched as he wasted no time in removing his money pouch from his waist and started to hand the crowd coins, one by one, her smirk returning to a slight smile.

She had been watching him for a game or two from the back of the crowd, having caught his movements and patterns almost right away. While she despised his little scam, she understood he was simply trying to make a living. He'd likely gotten chased off from the lower numbered Rukongai and figured this was his best bet.

"It's a start..." She murmured to herself, her mind drifting to her father. She wasn't able to make the difference she and her father dreamed of yet, but it was a start. Once she was a Captain...then she could bring security to this district, and the many above it.

NIKLAS

  • Niklas

    Nickname: None.
    Gender: Male
    Age: 33

Appearance: Niklas is quite tall, a trait that went will with his imposing and cruel nature. His eyes are a near-yellow amber color and his hair a deep black. His complexion is largely fair, if not bordering on pale. He generally dresses to impress, refusing to look any way that might be considered even halfway decent. He lived by the standard of beauty he upheld, after all.

  • Arrogant, uncommonly cruel and covetous, Niklas is not a person to make friends with. His greed and love for beautiful things is the driving force behind the majority of his actions. Precious metals, gems, silk and ivory, whatever catches his eye, whatever he desires, he will stop at nothing to get it. He will kill, blackmail, manipulate, torture or worse.

While his love for the material is the main driving force behind his actions, he does take joy in doing them just because he can. He derives pleasure from the misery of others, most notably those who think highly of themselves. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. And he finds the hard falls delectable.

  • Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, Niklas did not know what it was like to struggle for something as a child. His family name carried weight, and he would use that weight to get whatever his heart desired, namely to build his collection of treasures. Any money he spent largely went towards jewelry, clothes, sheets, anything rare or beautiful. Even his personal servants were required to meet a certain standard of beauty, should they be around him.

As he grew, his taste continued to evolve and his greed continued to grow. There were items that he couldn't buy no matter how much money he threw at the owner, and his methods of retrieving those items changed to suit that. He would blackmail, kill, kidnap and ruin the reputation of other wealthy families in the pursuit of wares. He found that there was a beauty in the cruelty of his actions that he'd grown to appreciate, a rush that was unlike any other. Soon his actions were just for fun rather than in the search of stones and metals.

Eventually, he acquired a piece that someone with just as grand a taste as his coveted. Just as he had hounded, ruined and taken the lives of many for his treasures, this person did the same to him. Niklas killed in his own home, a knife plunged into his chest and his body left to rot in his now empty room of treasures.

Name: Soren

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Appearance: Soren stands at 5'9 with a relatively wiry figure, weighing just under 165 lbs. He has a fair complexion and black hair, kept somewhat long and usually worn in a ponytail so as to keep it out of his face. His eyes are a deep green. He normally wears robes of varying blues, most of them light in hue. He also carries a messenger bag over his shoulder to house whatever items he ght be carrying with him.

Bender or Non-Bender: Bender

Element: Water

Martial Art Influence: Tai Chi

Weapons of Choice: Soren carries a saber on his back, should he happen to be unable to use his bending for any reason, as well as a gourd of water in a messenger bag he carries, should he be deprived of any in his surroundings.

Personality: Due to being sheltered by his father for most of his life, Soren is largely mild-mannered, naive and aloof. He grew up with the mentality that as long as he kept his head down trouble wouldn't be able to find him, and for the most part, that was correct. Generally, he prefers to avoid confrontation when possible. He's quick to apologize and tries his best to quell conflict between fellow rebels and friends whenever he sees trouble brewing between them. His naivety, combined with his generous nature, makes him more susceptible to being taken advantage of than others. He has no problem giving when asked and, unless he absolutely cannot, will do so often, even if it could be at his own expense.

Soren tends to get lost in his own train of thought, often overthinking things and staying quiet, trying to think of an appropriate response to even the simplest of things. He tends to worry over both things big and small, especially when it comes to executing a plan. He also has a fear of being lonely, perhaps a side effect of two years without either of his parents in his life. He'll go out of his way to keep someone he deems a friend, and would rather have someone around than no one, even if he isn't very fond of the person in question.

History: Soren was born a few years just before the assault of Kasai village. His mother, Kushala, was originally from the Northern Water Tribe, but had been stuck in the Earth Kingdom due to the blockade the Fire Nation had setup after the sacking of Gooling. Without a way to get home, she was forced to build a life for herself under fire nation control, something she detested completely, ultimately leading her to join the Rebel Armada.

Early on in her new life, she had met an Earthbender by the name of Kanan and the two had fallen in love, which culminated in the birth of Soren himself. Unfortunately, the boy would not know his mother for long. Not wishing for her son to live a life controlled by the Fire Nation, she left her family, devoting herself to the rebellion entirely and leaving Soren in the care of his father.

Soren grew up sheltered under his father's care, who tried his hardest to keep him and his son safe and away from the Fire Nation army. Soren had inherited his mother's waterbending rather than his father's earthbending, but without Kushala there to teach him the skill was nearly useless. He couldn't do much, and what little he could do, he couldn't do very well.

Kanan's efforts to keep himself and his son safe failed eventually. A little over a year after The Coal War, Kanan was arrested and hauled off to prison, believed to be one of the Dai Li. Soren lived without either of his parents for a little over a year, until the surprise return of his mother. Unable to leave her son alone, she took him under her wing, training him so that he could eventually become an asset to the Rebel Armada in the hopes of freeing his father and toppling the Fire Nation.

Other:

Name: Arvid Einarr

Age: 16

Appearance: Arvid has terribly kept, medium length burgundy hair of whom the locks sometimes get in his face. He has upturned hazel eyes that brim with confidence and drive. He stands at five feet and 10 inches with a decently lean frame.

Personality: Brash, hotheaded and teeming with overconfidence, Arvid is something of a problem child. He's quick to act without taking the potential consequences into action, often ending up in a bad situation or god forbid, worsening an already terrible one. He truly believes that there is nothing he cannot do and that he's always the most capable person in the room. Sadly, this means he's always looking for opportunities to prove it. Essentially he's a glory hound.

He does have a few redeeming qualities, however. He's a true and loyal friend. There's nothing he won't do for someone he loves, whether it be risking his life or doing something as simple as fetching a cup of coffee. He's quick to accept responsibility when something goes wrong and tries his best to make up for mistakes and make amends. Despite his shortcomings, he is someone you can rely on when the chips are down. Just don't let him take the lead, no matter how much he wants it.

Abilities and Skills:

  • Excellent hunter and tracker. This goes hand in hand with his knowledge of animals.
  • Skiing.
  • Incredible Archer and gifted in one on one combat.
  • Capable of cryokinesis

  • Name: Kozato, Enmei

    Heavenly Parent: Amaterasu - Omikami

    Gender: Male

    Age: 17

Appearance: Enmei stands tall at six feet with a strong and athletic but wiry build. While he has muscle, his frame is still slim, allowing him to maintain speed while still being strong. His eyes are a beautiful golden-brown and his hair is a brown and curly mess that he often forgets to take care of. He has a somewhat goofy but earnest look to him. During the day he appears as though he's shimmering, most especially in the light of the sun.

Clothing style: As long as Enmei is wearing something bright, he doesn't really care. Be it something dark with bright colors, as long as the colors are strong and beautiful, he's alright, though he mostly prefers blues and oranges. He dresses for the occasion but tends to lean towards loose, easy to move in clothes that he won't mind roughing up, such as jeans and a t-shirt, or, if he can, a jacket. He loves his jackets. Despite the unimportance of looking good in a combat setting, he does like to try and make things compliment each other if he can.

Personality: Enmei often comes across as a goofy big brother. He's a lighthearted individual who, at first glance might not seem like someone worth taking seriously (or even capable of taking things seriously), but that couldn't be further from the truth. While he does enjoy cracking jokes and making puns in dire situations, it's only a coping mechanism for him. In truth, he's always thinking about the best way to proceed and how he himself can improve. He's not afraid to put himself at personal risk to help friends and family out and, sometimes to the degree of being annoying, he'll often give advice and encouragement to those who look like they may need it. He's confident in his abilities, sometimes to the point of being overconfident, but hardly takes himself seriously. He has a strong sense of justice and honor and would rather die than sacrifice his own principles.

  • Born into a military family with a long history of raising warriors, Enmei had quite the reputation to live up to. His grandfather, Kozato Junichi is a famous and renowned veteran, and his father Katsuo is nearly just as famous. Both of them are considered heroes, especially by the Japanese Military.

Katsuo had made a name for himself by acting bravely and efficiently during a hostage crisis. He was a moderately ranked officer at the time, mostly thanks to his grandfather's influence. When a cargo ship and its workers were taken hostage by a group of overly ambitious pirates, he was chosen to join a small squad meant to rescue the hostages.

The mission went poorly nearly from the start, as the pirates had been better equipped and prepared than what was initially believed. Before they had even made it to the ship, what was a six-man squad was quickly reduced to two. The pirates had anticipated such a tactic and waited for them, opening fire on the small squad before they could get close. Only Katsuo and one other soldier had survived and the pirates had believed they were dead.

With their numbers drastically reduced, Katsuo and his comrade were ordered to retreat, and they would have done so, had one of the hostages not been shot in the shoulder in retaliation for the attempted rescue. Unless the pirates were given what they wanted, they would begin executing the hostages. This knowledge drove Katsuo and his comrade to continue the mission regardless.

The gods must have been on their side because they were able to board the ship and silently, stealthily make their way to the hostages, where they were unfortunately forced to throw away the element of surprise to free them. As his comrade ushered the hostages out to the back of the ship, Katsuo tried his best to cover them. He succeeded but was shot in the legs and taken hostage himself. The pirates now only had a man who was willing to die for his people held captive. Luckily, his efforts had weakened the pirates enough that, with no hostages left, the Japanese Defense Force was able to take the ship, and in the process rescue the man. It was this incident that gave Kozato Katsuo a reputation of his own, and unbeknownst to him at the time, caught the eye of a goddess.

Unfortunately, Katsuo lost one of his legs, but he felt nothing but pride, believing he'd served his people well. During his recovery, in the middle of the day, he was visited by a beautiful woman who seemed to shimmer in the light of the sun. She would question him, but not about the events of his rescue, but about why, about what drove him. The curiosity in her voice and words lead him to believe she wasn't a reporter or even someone wishing to thank him, but something different altogether. She would visit him quite often, even after he was free from the hospital. She always seemed to know where to find him. As the visits continued the two would slowly fall for each other, and her identity soon became known to him as Amaterasu, goddess of the universe. It was from their union that Enmei was born.

Enmei spent most of his time at the Shinkai Gakkou, being a year rounder. His father operated under the belief that he would be a far greater warrior than anyone in their family history had ever been, and that it was his duty to protect the people from the dangers they didn't even know existed. To that end, him being at the Shinkai Gakkou year round would help him achieve that goal.

Unfortunately, young Enmei didn't see it that way, nor did he care. To him, his father simply didn't want anything to do with him, and with his mother's presence being scarce, he felt abandoned. It was this feeling that led to him being something of a rotten child, picking fights with other kids and making things difficult for his teachers. This behavior only irritated his father, so every time he did see Katsuo, the reunion would be riddled with discipline.

Around his twelfth birthday, his mother paid him a visit, removing him from his classes and spending the entire day with him. From there she explained to him his lineage and spent the time to get to know him, and he her, and she would continue to visit him several times, something that improved his attitude and even his relationship with his father. It was through his meetings that he began to not only know but love his mother. She explained to him that as the only son of Amaterasu at the Shinkai Gakkou, he would have to look at himself as a leader and a representative, that he would need to step up and be just that.

It took awhile, but Enmei finally accepted that as his mission. The moment he did, his mother bestowed upon him what is now his most prized possession, the Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi. Upon receiving this sword, Enmei turned himself around, attempting to become the warrior that his mother and father know that he is capable of being.

  • Weapons:

Sword of Kusanagi - Gifted to him by his mother, the blade of Kusanagi is crafted from Heavenly Tamahagane, making durable and capable of killing a myriad of monsters. It is his most prized possession and most powerful tool. The sword and its sheathe go with him on any quest.

    Abilities and Skills:

Solar Manipulation - The offspring of the Shinto Sun Goddess, Enmei is capable of manipulating the energies of the sun to various degrees. He can control heat and fire and is immune to high temperatures. He can even gather solar energy and use it as energy itself. He can also use solar energy to heal himself and others, though the effectiveness of this ability is limited by how long he's been in the sunlight and the time of day. He's stronger during the day then he is at night, and the more sunlight he soaks in, the stronger he gets.

Gravity manipulation - A part of abilities is that he's able to control aspects of gravity. With this ability, he can make things heavier or lighter and even repel objects or pull them towards him. He can use it to compliment his already impressive strength by hitting harder. He can also use this ability to fly somewhat.

Rainbow Manipulation - Because why not? Summon forth rainbows, young Enmei!

Skilled fighter - Enmei is highly proficient in combat, particularly with his sword. He's able to strike quickly when needed, or heavily and is quite skilled defensively with the weapon. While he's capable of using other weapons (such as knives, bows and even a gun), he's nowhere near as capable as he is with his sword.

  • Poor Enmei suffers from serious bouts of Seasonal Depression during the winter months. ):

THE RAT

Now the Wezeer had two daughters; the elder of whom was named Shahrazád; and the younger, Dunyázád. The former had read various books of histories, and the lives of preceding kings, and stories of past generations: it is asserted that she had collected together a thousand books of histories, relating to preceding generations and kings, and works of the poets: and she said to her father on this occasion, Why do I see thee thus changed, and oppressed with solicitude and sorrows? It has been said by one of the poets:—

Tell him who is oppressed with anxiety, that anxiety will not last:
As happiness passeth away, so passeth away anxiety.
When the Wezeer heard these words from his daughter, he related to her all that had happened to him with regard to the King: upon which she said, By Allah, O my father, give me in marriage to this King: either I shall die, and be a ransom for one of the daughters of the Muslims, or I shall live, and be the cause of their deliverance from him.29—I conjure thee by Allah, exclaimed he, that thou expose not thyself to such peril:—but she said, It must be so. Then, said he, I fear for thee that the same will befall thee that happened in the case of the ass and the bull and the husbandman.—And what, she asked, was that, O my father.

Her father, the Wezeer, then took her to the King, who, when14 he saw him, was rejoiced, and said, Hast thou brought me what I desired? He answered, Yes. When the King, therefore, introduced himself to her, she wept; and he said to her, What aileth thee? She answered, O King, I have a young sister, and I wish to take leave of her. So the King sent to her; and she came to her sister, and embraced her, and sat near the foot of the bed; and after she had waited for a proper opportunity, she said, By Allah! O my sister, relate to us a story to beguile the waking hour of our night. Most willingly, answered Shahrazád, if this virtuous King permit me. And the King, hearing these words, and being restless, was pleased with the idea of listening to the story; and thus, on the first night of the thousand and one, Shahrazád commenced her recitations.

Equipment: (here goes all your weaponry and any other belongings, like a medical kit, spare clothes, a bag of essentials and then list them out)
    • (Sword – a long sword with elven engravings and a beautifully decorated golden handle, kept in its equally fancy sheath to the Oc's belt on his left side. PS, if you don't like the bubbles, feel free to change them for a different symbol. For all bullet lists, please add descriptions after a dash. The amount of bullet points is the minimum of how much you need to have.)

  • A free-spirited individual afflicted with more than just a little bit of wanderlust, Rainn is almost incapable of staying in the same place for long. Having lived the majority of his life in one location, the young man is addicted to travel. He loves the idea of seeing new places, gathering new experiences and meeting new and interesting people. Just as his parents before him, he's always seeking something new and exciting, some brand new adventure to keep him entertained until the next one.

His intrepid nature is not without its drawbacks, however. Because he's so easily excited, he tend to act rather impulsively, jumping into things without fully understanding them and then having to deal with the consequences later on, whether they be negative or positive. Often he'll jump into something knowing that danger lays ahead. In fact, one could say he prefers it that way, as that's what makes it an adventure in the first place.

Rainn is an optimistic, goofy and outgoing person. Despite having traveled on his own for some time now, he always has and always will prefer the company of others. He'll leap at any chance he can to make a connection with someone, often going out of his way to make a friend. It helps that he's kind of a goofball and doesn't seem to take himself too seriously, if so at all. He has no problem bursting into song and/or dance, and in fact loves to do so, especially when the timing is right (or inversely, equally wrong).

However, due to his friendliness, and having grown up somewhat isolated, he's somewhat naive. He tends to take things at face value, and is a little too trusting for his own good. This combined with his lack of patience and constant thrill-seeking practically make him a magnet for trouble. But hey, at least he'll have fun with it.

    Goals:
    • (One simple goal, like 'wants to see the world' is enough, but if you have more, feel free to add them here)

    Fears:

  • History: (you can get rid of this repeat of 'History' because that's the tab name, I just wanted to make sure you don't forget to write it down. Same goes for personality tbh.)

  • Skills/Talents:
•(This is primarily for non combat stuff, like drawing, herbal knowledge, navigation skills, juggling.)

Handicaps: (If they have any, if not leave blank or get rid of it)

Combat style: (How they fight, how good they are at it, ect.)

Special powers: (Knows fancy magic? Something else that doesn't fit anywhere else? Feel free to add it here, if not leave it blank or get rid of it.)

  • Color: (Now for aesthetic and easier navigation, I'll ask that everyone has a colour and please keep them different. With this colour you will need to colour the name of your post (so I would colour in 'Zonran' at the start of every post) and dialogue said by your character.)

  • Name: Enmei Kozato (古里 燕命)

    Heavenly Parent: Amaterasu-oomikami

    Gender: Male

    Age: 17

    Fatal Flaw: Unknown

Appearance: Enmei stands tall at six feet with a strong and athletic but wiry build. While he has muscle, his frame is still slim, allowing him to maintain speed while still being strong. His eyes are a beautiful golden-brown and his hair is a brown and curly mess that he often forgets to take care of. He has a somewhat goofy but earnest look to him. During the day he appears as though he's shimmering, most especially in the light of the sun.

Clothing: As long as Enmei is wearing something bright, he doesn't really care.

  • Heart of Duty
Born into a military family with a long history of raising warriors, Enmei had quite the reputation to live up to. His grandfather, Junichi Kozato is a famous and renowned veteran, and his father Katsuo is nearly just as famous.

It was this incident that gave Katsuo Kozato a reputation of his own, and unbeknownst to him at the time, caught the eye of a goddess.

    Yo Momma

    Skills:
Fighting - Enmei is highly proficient in combat, particularly with his sword. He's able to strike quickly when needed, or heavily and is quite skilled defensively with the weapon. While he's capable of using other weapons (such as knives, bows and even a gun), he's nowhere near as capable as he is with his sword.

    Fun Facts:
    • Poor Enmei suffers from serious bouts of Seasonal Depression during the winter months. ):

  • Amaterasu-oomikami - His mother, Enmei's relationship with her was initially nonexistent. His mother had brought him to the Shinkai Gakkou along with his father, but from there, her presence was absolutely zero. It wasn't until he turned twelve that his mother began to take an active role in his life. He loves her to the point that he's a mama's boy, and it's thanks to her that his attitude has changed and he's more optimistic about taking on the responsibility that comes with his heritage. There isn't anyone he deems more important than her.

Katsuo Kozato - Enmei's relationship with his father is strained at best, and hell at worst. Katsuo has always expected a lot from Enmei and, knowingly, places a lot of pressure upon him. Due to Enmei's behavior when he was younger, he is, to say the least, disappointed with him thus far. Thanks to his missing leg, Katsuo has been stuck behind a desk instead of being in the field, something that makes him miserable. He believes Enmei is his way to make up for all that he has to offer but cannot give. Enmei loves his father, but feels bitter towards the man for a lack of presence in his life, and despite his new outlook on life, the two remain embittered and estranged.

Junichi Kozato - Like his father, Jinichi expects great things from Enmei to both, a lesser and greater degree. He knows of Enmei's heritage and the dangers that he faces ahead, believing it is his grandson's duty to tackle them head-on, but he also recognizes that Enmei is his own man. Enmei loves his grandfather despite not being able to see him much in his old age. He hopes that he can make his grandfather proud.

Hisae Shirogami - Technically his cousin, Enmei thinks of her as just that (although despite being the same age, he thinks he's the older cousin). Although he doesn't know her very well, he's made it a personal mission of his to break through the walls she's put up around herself and get to know her. He tries his best to include her in things and will go out of his way to try and hang out with her. He may not know her very well, but he loves her all the same, and wants her to be happier than even he is.

Rahne O'Braoin
Human/Female | 25 | Wyndfel
Name:
Melsinde

Nickname:

Race:
Human

Age:
25

Home Territory:
Wyndfel

Profession:
Ex-Soldier

Description:
Rahne stands proudly at a rather modest height of 5'4,the average for someone of her age. She has a strong, lean, well-muscled figure that screams fighter. As if they weren't enough, her body has various scars, across her arms and even the bridge of her nose and eye. It's quite rare to see her without some sort of injury. Her somewhat fair skin is often marred with bruises, or her fingers wrapped in bandages. Her hair is a salamander shade of orange and is kept straight and somewhat long, descending just past her shoulders. Her eyes are teal blue.

Personality:

Rahne is not the most intelligent person. She leaves much to be desired as far as formal education goes. She can handle the most basic of maths (so long as she can use her fingers), and she can read, though she isn't the fastest. Beyond that, she knows nothing, and even within that, she finds herself struggling often. She finds herself struggling when it comes to the nuance of social interactions, often misunderstanding a situation entirely, or even being fooled.

But for what she lacks in intelligence she more than makes up for in ferocity, conviction, and heart. She's a stubborn and unyielding girl who, when convinced that she's right, is nigh impossible to convince otherwise. When she commits to something, she commits wholeheartedly, sticking with her decision until the end, even when the going gets tough. She always says what she means and means what she says, even if it comes across as offensive. She means well and tries to do right by everyone when she can.

Bio:

The eldest child born to her parents, Rahne was born and raised in Rola. As a child she would go outside to play and often come back with scrapes and bruises, worrying her parents to no end about her. It was this worry that led her father to bring her to assist him with logging, making her use her energy for something more productive than scrapping with other kids or pulling some dangerous stunt. The work was tough, but it was simple and rewarding, and Rahne quickly grew to appreciate it. But eventually, that appreciation began to fade.

As Rahne grew older she began to grow bored with her life in the small town. It was pleasant, but it was repetitive. The days began to run into one another and she found herself unhappy with her life. It was on her 19th birthday that she made the only decision she could think of to get out of Rola and explore: enlist in the military. Unfortunately, her first few years as a soldier weren't what she thought they would be. While she was no longer bored with her life, it was far from how she thought it would be. While she had always pictured her life as a soldier as one of heroics and adventure, the cruelty of the empire did not sit well with her, affecting her sleep and even her appetite. She only lasted three years in the military before she defected.

It wouldn't be long before she found herself shacking up with the Rebellion. To her, it was an easy choice to make. The only thing she could offer was her sword and skill, who would turn down another body to throw at the enemy?

Magic:
Runic - Offensive.
Runic Belt - The runes engraved on her belt increase her physical abilities, allowing her to be stronger, faster and resist fatigue longer than she normally would. She can even take a few more blows than normal so long as the leather belt is wrapped around her waist.

Skills:

Swordsmanship
Hand-To-Hand Combat
Intimidation

Strengths:

Sturdy and Enduring
Dedicated and strong willed
Bold and unyielding
Open and honest
Agile

Weaknesses:

Rather stupid
Terrible leader
Speaks mind without thinking of the consequences
Stubborn as a mule, not very flexible when it comes to opposing viewpoints
Headstrong and rash
Prideful

Romanceable:
Yes.

Art is by Morry!
