Lucifer wiped a bit of sweat from his brow. His hands were blistering already, and the heavy bag swayed from side to side. He stepped out into the garden to see Gil on the roof. He knew he would be up there for some time. Lucifer didn't really know why, since he never bother to ask. But he had assumptions of what it was.

The boy made his way inside then up to his room. He removed his clothes and threw them on a pile. Revealing his well toned body, and a few scars here and there. Just the result of training and where he grew up.

After getting ready Lucifer slumped down on the futon he had as a bed. The boys room was very plane, with not much in it. Lucifer spread himself comfortable out on the bed and closed his eyes. Soon drifting off to sleep.

Mayumi glanced at her bedside table, just after midnight, it went a long way to explain why she felt the tiredness she did and after a brief, stifled yawn, hidden behind a hand despite the lack of anyone nearby she closed her book across the envelope of her acceptance letter. The book in question was a satirical spin with some rather intellectual insights into weapon and meister compatibility and the person who wrote this particular one delved into anecdotes and tales of his own early years with his weapon and how they had fumbled around until finally getting it right. It was light-hearted reading despite the real life drama that occasionally read its head in the retelling of this person's life.

Which was exactly what she needed tonight, usually she suffered from the weekly nightmare, not to any degree she felt she needed to speak to someone about. She often didn't remember the nightmares, just faces from them but it was the feeling she had when she woke up after one that lingered and left her jumpy. Tonight she was in a strange part of town, in a strange house, in a strange room, in a strange bed with someone who was, despite her best efforts, more or less a stranger and she was certain if anything would get her sub conscious lashing out it would be her new surroundings.

It was important for her to be well rested though, tomorrow was the opening ceremony and she was intent on looking awake, alert and ready. It would do no one any good if they all looked ridiculously exhausted and incapable of concentrating, what kind of impression would that make on their upper class man and tutors anyway? Putting the book aside she let out a deep breath and settled down into the covers of her bed, hesitating only a moment before flicking off the lights.

As a young child she'd been fine with the dark until Kenny, one of the older boys in the orphanage at the time, decided to tell the girls ghost stories about Witches hiding under beds and Kishin that clawed at the windows waiting for a young child to get up at night so they could snatch them away and eat them. The way he'd told the story left the girls terrified and while they got ready for bed he sneaked back into their room and waited under one of their beds. It hadn't been Mayumi's but the scream from one of her friends as he grabbed her ankle had left her in capable of sleeping without a light for weeks.

She was much older now and knew the stories he'd told to be ridiculous but a small part of her, that naive childish part, still whispered but what if... and some nights when the wind was high and she was feeling vulnerable that voice grew so loud it was hard to ignore. Like tonight, unfamiliar shapes and shadows reared up in the darkness and haunted her until her eyes adjusted to pick out the things she knew to be in the room. Once satisfied that no witch, kishin or little prankster would spring from her bed she closed her eyes and settled in to sleep.

Her dream that night was broken and twisted, filled with half remembered thoughts and broken reality leaving her constantly perplexed as she slipped fluidly between one scene and the next. Not that she knew she was dreaming of course or that she couldn't possibly be dreaming about who she thought she was dreaming about, since she'd never met them properly and had no conscious recollection of them but dreams rarely made any sense.

*narration* And with that, the strange individuals day drew to a close. The dark choking grasp of night was pushed away into a fresh new dawn. One stood motionless on a roof top, a few others in their beds and another haunting the streets below. Although they were all in seperate locations right now, soon their fates would be not just crossed, but irreversibly intertwined

Christianna was up as soon as the sun made its first morbid laugh in the sky. She wasn't usually this early a riser, but she was feeling a little bit nervously. The two of them had kind of gotten lumped together as partners since no one else's wavelength seemed to be able to match up with her partner's. His name was... Ace, right? She'd told him he could call her Crystal, as a stage name. She tried getting herself to go back to sleep, but that just wasn't going to happen with her nerves spread this thin. Trying very hard not to wake up Ace, she dressed quickly and quietly, pulling her hair up into their ridiculously long, pale blue pigtails, before making her way to the balcony. She stood there, looking up at the sky, letting the wind giggle and play with strands of her hair as she drank in the cool morning air. She hoped today would be peaceful...

Light. It burned at it eyelids as it made its way through the blinds of his room, drawing him into the land of the living. Then came the sun's ever-so-familiar laughter. Perfect. "Sleeep," he quietly whined to no one in particular, shuffling in his temporary bed of blankets. After deciding that the sun had won the battle, he sat up and rubbed his eyes slowly.

Ayden glanced around before standing, his blankets dropping and exposing his shorts and black T-shirt. Barefoot, he stepped across the carpet of the apartment and looked for his partner. Her name... C - something. Crystal, was it? He'd figure it out sooner or later. Quietly, he stopped at the glass door to the balcony, finding the small girl standing there.

"What to say?" He thought to himself as he awkwardly shuffled at the door.

"Uh... G-Good morning."

Christianna turned her head slightly to look at him from the corner of one eye. For some reason, the look on her face was a little sad. "Good morning. Ace, was it?" She turned her head back out to the streets. "It's nice weather today, isn't it? Is it time to go to class already?" Her voice felt far away even to herself. The world felt a little surreal, perhaps just because she'd had so little sleep.

Ayden caught this glimpse of melancholy on the girl's face, but pointing it out would probably make things worse; he was a stranger and she probably didn't want him to know what was wrong. But they were partners, nonetheless. Once he mustered up the strength to ask, she had inquired him thrice; two of the questions being rhetorical. On the third, he glanced back at the electronic clock laying in the labyrinth, seeing that it read "7:06".

He turned back to her and replied, "I don't think so... I think classes start soon though." He paused and took note of the girl's emotional state. Ding. Idea. "Wanna go head out for some breakfast before class? It's on me." He offered with a warm smile.

Duel was curled up into a tight little bundle in her bed. She was having some pleasant dream about a land filled with candy and such when her alarm clocks screeching jolted her awake. The green haired meister let out an annoyed groan as her hand slapped the button on top to turn off her alarm. She laid back down, curling up and wrapped the covers around her body so only her eyes and nose poked out an opening. Starring at the clock, she waited a minute and watched as the clocks numbers went from 7:06 to 7:07. Sighing, she finally forced herself out of the warmth of her bed. She crossed her room to her closet where she picked out the outfit for the day, a long sleeved dark red sweater with maroon tights and a pair of dray shorts to wear over them. She quickly brushed her hair before making her way out her room and into the bathroom across the hall, brushing her teeth in there. When finished she walked over to her weapons room, knocking on his door. "Are you awake yet? We can grab a bite to eat on our way to school."

For Yumi the morning didn't come gently it came with a sudden crashing clarity, she was thrown from the sleeping realms with such a force that her eyes flickered open and focused with all the fervent fear of a child during war, a gasp was all that signaled her acceptance to her fate and for a fleeting moment she knew the name and face of her fear. Though as her mind relinquished the dream state it seemed to also part with those memories and leave her confused once again as to the reason for her sudden fear.

The fear passed too as soon as she was up and moving to the kitchen where she made American style raising pancakes from their limited food stock and whipped up a quick toffee sauce. She had her own plain with a cup of tea and left the second breakfast, with sauce and a coffee, on the counter for her partner. She rapped her knuckles against his door hesitantly and called in quietly, "I have made breakfast, I left it on the side for you if you'd like." Before hastily retreating before the whirlwind of aggression could catch her.

Hopping into the shower she let the hot water warm her bones and chase away the last dregs of her dream and her fears from the previous night. Today was the first day of school and she was excited. Once dried and dressed she packed her work uniform and hid it beneath her notebook and pen. She didn't know what books or other equipment she would need so for the time being that would do. She would get lunch at the Cafe after her lessons, packing her phone and her wallet so she could do some food shopping later she slung her pack onto her back and went to look for Arnaud, she hoped they would be able to walk to school together today."Arnaud?"

"Gil I made breakfast!!!" Lucifer shouted, a huge smile on his face as he admired his creation. Omelet, bacon and cheese. Lucifer wasn't very good at anything other than fighting but he did seem to have one talent. Cooking. For some reason the boys attitude completely changed whilst he cooked. He was self taught, since he lived a solitary life before the academy. He placed the folded omelet's on the table and took off his apron. He had his silvery hair pinned back and his sleeves rolled up. It had only just gone 7, but Lucifer had been awake for at least an hour. After all he had morning training.

Lucifer would get up early each morning to run, after he had ran he would begin training. This would normally only include a few rounds with the heavy bag and some weight sets. But it built up a sweat and kept his body in shape. He would then take a shower and get changed for lessons, wearing all his clothes rather messily. Then came the cooking, Lucifer would normally make something for breakfast. Only sometimes would they have cereal, if he was running late.

The boy sat down at the table and dug in, not waiting for Gil. But listened for when the boy might show his face.

Gil yawned as he looked up at the sky. Great. Another night with no sleep. Well, he was fairly sure he had passes out for around twenty minutes around 5 am, but that was all it appeared he was going to get. The urge to use some form of simulant was overwhelming. He'd heard that coffee was good to wake you up, but he'd never tried it. He knew the moment he found something that could relieve the tiredness he would become addicted. He walked downstairs.

He had spent a lot of last night playing around with his soul wavelength. He wanted to see if it was possible to amplify his own wavelength by partially transforming his body. If he could, it would open up a world of possibilities for him. He walked in to the dining room. Lucifer sat with breakfast. Gil smiled. Cooking and a crazy adrenaline addict. Who knew that the two would fit together. Sure Lucifer was no master chef, but he really enjoyed it. And that was all that really mattered. "Thanks" he said sitting down. "You going to this opening ceremony? " he asked

A few moments after the rapping on his door, Tomas opened his door, smiling. He had his pants on, but no shirt, and his chest was bare. "Ah, good morning, mi bella!," he said, leaning against his door frame, "You are looking very beautiful today, Duel, as you always do." Tomas was a very smooth operator. His eyes left hers and went to a stray bit of hair. He smiled sensually as he reached over and brushed it out of the way. "There. It was, ah, distracting me from your beautiful face." Tomas had only known her for a few days, and he was already hitting on her. Even with his already smooth methods, his soothing accent added to it.

Tomas would then answer Duel's question after a moment of staring into her eyes. "Ah, I would love to. Just, ah, let me finish dressing. Of course that is, unless, you like seeing my bare chest?" Tomas would move a bit, showing of his honed physique to his Meister. "Well?" He shook some of his long, raven hair out of his face, smiling sensually to her once more. Oh, he was good.

Arnaud was already awake by the crack of dawn and, surprise, he was praying. He had already showered and prepared long before Mayumi ever awoke. He had been praying for hours now, and had conveniently finished just after Mayumi awoke and was knocking on his door. Arnaud sighed, stood up, and opened his door. Seeing she was elsewhere, she was barely saved from his wrath. He went and found what remained of the breakfast she prepared. He ate it silently, showing no appreciation nor disrespect, a neutral expression for an otherwise angry man.

Afterwards, when Mayumi came looking for him, he had already finished by that time. He, without fully turning to her, bluntly asked, "What do you want?" No outward emotion whatsoever, just a plain tone accompanied by a blank stare.

Duels face instantly went red hot when he had walked out. She wasn't sure exactly what to do about this. The school had taught her how to control her emotions in all sorts of situations but they happened to leave out a scenario where a boy would walk around their shared apartment without wearing a shirt, smooth talking her with his sweet, soothing accent. Wait, should she be offended the school didn't think she would get in a situation like this? Wait, keep focused.

When his hand reached out to fix her hair, her hands grasped each other nervously. What was he saying? Focus, Duel! Taking a deep breath, she cleared her mind in time to hear his answer to her question about getting a bite to eat together. "N-No that's fine. I mean.. Sure. No, uh, go get a shirt. I'll, uh, wait here. No need to rush, we have plenty of time." She said with a smile, her cheeks still a rosy red. She quickly backed up, heading to the living room to wait for Tomas. When she as out if sight she let out a long breath. Sheesh, living with him was going to take some getting use to...

Tomas would smile and leave his doorway to get a shirt and put it on. He chose his normal outfit, a t-shirt with a hoodie over it. He also would put on a pair of glasses. He didn't need them, they were just for style. He could actually read just fine. They were just to accentuate his appearance even further, making him even more attractive. He would also grab his wallet, phone, and guitar, wanting to take it with and play when he got the chance.

Tomas would sneak up behind Duel, purposely being silent. He put his hands in front of her, covering her eyes. Leaning close to her hear, he whispered sensually, "Guess who." After that, he hovered for a few moments, whispering something to her in Spanish that may or may not be inappropriate. The soothing little laugh that followed gave the hint that it was something complimenting her, at least. "Are you ready?"

The moment the ceremony was brought up, Lucifer's attitude changed. "it's going to be a waste of time" he commented, finishing off his omelette. He then stood up and put his dirty dishes in the sink. He turned back to face Gil. "i could be training or fighting rather than meeting knew people" he stated.

He looked up at the ceiling with a sigh, that soon turned into an evil grin. " But you never know, maybe there will be fun people to fight" he smirked thinking about beating someone to a pulp. Violence, the main thing that went through this boys head.

Gil shook his head. "Kid won't be pleased if you miss the ceremony though" He pointed out. "The entire reason we're in this accommodation near the others is to integrate ourselves back into society, or at least the DWMA community. I know you would rather be doing something worthwhile but at least try to be good" He said chuckling a little. "That being said, I won't hesitate against some cocky upstart either. You know how I hate people who don't know their place" He continued with a little smirk that betrayed a cruelty under his calm veneer.

Right when Duel started getting a hold of herself, Tomas had snuck up behind her and began whispering in her ear. She had no clue what he was saying, it was in Spanish. But she was sure it wasn't exactly appropriate. She Grew both nervous and embarrassed all over again. She glances over to him when he had removed his hands from her eyes. Blushing, she flashed a friendly smile. "Y-Yeah, I'm ready."

She walked to where her shoes sat in the entry way and slipped into them. Turning the lights off, she walked out the door and started down the hallway. She didn't look back since she figured her partner would follow behind her.
"What are you in the mood for? I don't mind what we have for breakfast, really. So you can choose." She spoke in a rather cheerful voice. Even though her partner could be... A lot to handle, she was still pretty happy that she was lucky enough to be his meister. She thought she would never be able to find a partner who was compatible with her.

Mayumi.

She stood nervously in the hallway, though none of it showed and she didn't so much as flinch as the first round of verbal attacks hit her. She offered him a smile and spoke in those quiet, warm tones of hers. "I just wondered if you wanted to go to school together. Since we're both going to the same place anyway." It was strange, so many people had said how calming being around her was but if anything it seemed that aura made her partner so much more agitated than normal.

She waited only for his answer before finishing her preparations and if needed, leaving on her own. She felt both excited and nervous and it made her feel quite queasy in that combination. For the most part she was looking forward to their class mates, she doubted that either Gil or Lu would be in their year but she did hope she'd see them. While Lucifer seemed grouchy he was a lot politer than Arnaud at least in the way he spoke to her and Gil, he seemed so kind and relaxed, it was really nice being around someone like him. Perhaps it was too early to call them her friends but she hoped they would be by the end of the year.

Smiling to herself she looked toward the school, gripping her bag tighter as they grew closer, it looked so impressive and by the time they reached the gate she couldn't help but stop and take it in. Checking her uniform; she'd opted for a long, straight black skirt with pleats at the calves so it would 'fish tail' around her ankles so her steps weren't restricted. A plain black blouse with a neat row of buttons and a simple kerchief neck tie that tucked in like a cravat at the top button. She hadn't had the money to get much else but she'd shined up her trusty black boots and she'd brushed down her long light brown coat until it looked halfway near decent. Checking her hair, which had been pulled up into a high ponytail for neatness, and readjusting her bag she took the first step into the School grounds.

She'd make it work here, she had to.

Thea.

Why the hell she had to go to this school she had no idea, likewise she had no damn idea why she was partnered with this 'mutual friends' kid. From what she could tell they were complete opposites, he was a lazy ass that would spend his whole day snoozing if he had the chance. Having run a comb through her short black hair, raking it back with her fingers a moment later, and making some attempt to put on a uniform, slipping on some black pants and covering her usual shirt with a black tank top with some band title on the front she thought it was high time her partner put in an appearance. Grabbing her jacket, a leather thing, roughed up from years of wear and abuse, it was a short jacket, only reaching the tops of her hips but it was impossible to miss the word Wyld Catz painted on the back and a slashing claw style marks that ran in 4 thick lines in the background edged in red.

Making her way to her partner she let herself into his room and without care or courtesy made her way to his bed. She paused but a moment to observe her partner, so docile and content in his blankets and pillow. It irritated her. With all the ease of a dragon she lifted the far corner of his bed and lifted it up until the entire thing slipped and deposited him onto the floor. "Get up fruitcake, I ain't got all damn day." She hissed, her voice not far off what one might expect from a jungle cat, there was an air of power and danger that her volume and tone alone would probably not have conveyed. "If yer ready to go in less than ten minutes I'll buy ya whatever you want from Black Catz on the way back later." Her mother, before shipping her out here, had told her how her partner could be motivated by cake, Thea had wondered about him since then, the lethargic nature and attitude and habit for sugary snacks...he was odd, so it was a good thing she quite liked odd things.

Christianna looked at her new roommate in partner in slight surprise, as if his words were somehow helping to bring her back down to reality. She was grateful. She didn't know her partner very well, but it seemed to her that he was a kind person. "Thank you. Breakfast sounds nice." She smiled at him and laughed slightly, "Sorry, but I don't really know how to cook. Do you?" If not, it seemed as though they'd be eating out an awful lot. She began moving back inside to grab a backpack and some notebooks. She didn't know what their first day was going to be like, but she wanted to be prepared.

"sounds like a plan" Lucifer smiled. He roled down his sleaves. He was wearing a white shirt, but it was worn messily. Untucked at the bottom and unbuttoned near the top.

They made there way down the streets. It's not like this was a new experience for him or Gil. " What class are we in?" He asked, looking back at Gil.
