If firearms are rare and expensive...

Why don't people just get a free firearm, then sell it once the game begins, and start off with extra cash-money?

I guess I shouldn't make firearms a starting Sense then?

That is probably a better idea. That way a person can't get a free gun at the start.
 
Fixed that. Firearms and the Firearms Sense can no longer be obtained at Character Creation.

True, as not many NPCs would buy them.

But I prefer to make them not available at the start anyway, since early game they can be a bit broken with their damage output, even if there are alot of drawbacks.

    Why eye and not eyes you ask? Well, Hideo actually only has one eye and often lets his hair hang over where his left eye would be. Not that he simply has an empty eye socket beneath that since that would probably scare the shit out of most people. He does have a glass eye, but it's not like he can see out of it, so it's easier to just let his hair hang naturally.

    In terms of attire, he generally dresses rather casually. Business casual is occasional, but it's not unsual to see him in the store with a hoodie, jeans, and sneakers.

    Personality
    Unexcitable and laid back, Hideo is the epitome of what it means to be easy-going. He takes, seemingly, everything in stride and little appears to faze him. While intelligent, he avoids getting caught up in mental dilemmas, preferring to use a healthy blend of intellect and instinct versus over-analyzing and meticulous planning. Has it backfired on him? Certainly, but going into the minute of details is contrary to his easy going nature and most often results in frustration and annoyance that destroys his ability to think properly either way.

    His lax personality is easily approachable, a fairly good trait for someone who occasionally mans the counter of his own business. While his expression reveals little enthusiasm for his work, it shows through actions and conversations. An avid fan of video games, it was part of the reason he decided to open up shop in the first place.

    Finished up university and decided to pursue his dream of indulging in video games. To that end Hideo opened up a small shop, and it has actually become successful enough that he no longer takes on the majority of the work load himself. While he still does many of the things in the background as the business owner and manager, he's done well enough that a few employees handle the store front now.

    Naturally this means he has a bit more free time on his hands now, and he can actually indulge in video games like he opened the store to. Occasionally he has to abruptly log out or pause whatever's he's doing to take care of something, much to the chagrin of those he plays with, but most of his core group of gamer friends generally aren't on when interruptions most often occur given they have adulting to do.

    Even without the success of his store, Hideo is considered lucky. He may have lost one of his eyes, but the disease generally took both and no one’s really quite sure why only one was affected. In the end though, the eye was removed and a glass replacement took its place. It would have been odd or terrifying to have one green and another murky white.

It all looks good. I had to change Strike a bit, as it was a small bit too strong, but don't worry it can get back to the way you had it after some good leveling.

I will allow the hand wraps... but I changed them a small bit.

You also can get one more Art (either Word Magic or something else entirely) for free as your Character Creation Art.

Other than the two changes I made, everything else looks good and, if you are fine with my changes, your character is accepted.​

Eh... the changes make Strike completely worthless. It costs way too much for way too little damage, even if it doesn't eat up a standard action.

Exactly what does the +1 to Applicable Skills for the Hand Wraps apply to, and why is there a Soul cost associated with the Observe art?

Updated Strike. Decreased its Soul Cost by 1 (and it will go down again as you level the ability) and upgraded its damage a bit. I realized that it should deal a bit more damage since it does technically take two actions to properly utilize.

And the Soul Cost for Observe is a typo on my part.​

Typo changed. Was using an earlier version of Observe from my files.
 
Strike can deal up to 7 Mana Damage right now, which in the beginning is pretty decent (most beginning level enemies don't have alot of Resistance).

Note beginning level Arts like these level up relatively quickly, so it will be outputting more damage before you know it.

Final version. I feel like this is fair since it relies on two Actions (one to use, second to attack) and you actually have to get close and hit, only having a short period of time to do so.​
