Make me wanna go back to bed
Trying to dodge the pain
All while I listen to the pouring rain

I always wonder why the dreams can't last
It's the only way to escape my past
Dreaming if your face
Makes me forget about the chase

The night is like a dagger
Long, cold, and sharp
Every time the darkness gathers
It pierces through my heart

They say all wounds heal with time
That's true for all except for mine
Thinking of you keeps the sting at bay
While I continue to pray for day

When nightfall comes the insomnia returns
Along with it my feelings are turned
To those I try to escape
But I'm afraid it's far too late

There are some nights when I can slumber
Those are the times I dream of my lover
All other nights remain the same
My mind plays a never ending game

I need you here beside me
Maybe then I will be at peace
Without you I get no rest
Because of memories I detest
