Pinestaff Creek, Washington

Joey wasn't very well liked in this small town. In fact, the whole of the Lazuli weren't welcome in Pinestaff. This town, everyone knew everyone. Before Joey's father John met Mabel Jones-Briggs, things had been very peaceful. But when her gang rolled into this town, things started to get rather hectic. People didn't like the roar of the motorcycles, the attitudes of those who rode them. But truth was, the bikers were good for this town. They brought in new business, bought out that old hotel that Mr. Myers had been trying to see for years. It had a bowling ally with a theatre attached to it, and the gang had gotten it into tip-top shape. They even had a grand ballroom built upstairs. The economy was higher than ever yet the town hated them.

Nothing more was clearer to him than when Joey was heading to the store. Walking inside, there were quite a few people staring at him. He swore he heard someone yell for him to 'go back to his own country'. Glaring back at them, he walked through the isles and began to pull things from the shelves. There was a very large list of things he was asked to get, but he was getting nervous being here alone. He was young, he hadn't done anything wrong, yet he felt like he was intruding around here. He lived in this town for a while now, didn't he have just as much right here as anybody? He tried to keep to himself, but didn't stop himself from looking people in the eyes. He wasn't scared of people, and he wanted them to know that he wasn't too. They couldn't bully someone just because they didn't like him. He kept his head held high as he looked around, keeping an eye open for any trouble.
