Sky Burner

Re: Sky Burner [OOC]

Yes, that man was a Burner alright. A pyrokinetic at that, something quite dangerous. Fire was hard to control, after all. Dvorak found himself chuckling with amusement as the boy was suddenly reminded of his dragon and decided to speed off. However, the small clearing had become quite cramped at Dvorak's arrival and the boybhad found himself trying to get pass them, but constantly tripping himself up and once, even slammed into Dvorak's body, which he hardly felt. Dvorak's laughter began to die out as his face returned to its usual serious look. He crossed his arms over one another before he spoke once again.

"No matter. Daemona Currere can speak whatever them dragons speak quite accurately. I'm sure he can call your dragon over." Dvorak said in his confident, no-nonsense tone.

Without warning, however, the dragon which was Dvorak's steed raised his head into the air and let a splitting roar burst out if it's great maw, as if he was ready to tear the skies asunder - A message to the boy's dragon, wherever it was: Your rider is safe.

Re: Sky Burner [OOC]

Vertrag raised its massive head as a large roar echoed through the forest. The leaves shivered and the dragon's speech message reached his ears. His eyes narrowed into slits and he picked himself up from the ground. "Sorry miss. But I'm afraid that I must return to Rhaego." He said. "Would you like to come along? I think you'd get along very nicely with my rider. He's a good kid, but he is a bit... different." Vertrag chuckled and moved towards the direction of the roar. The dragon extended its leathery wings and rose into the air gracefully.

-----------------------------

Rhaego stamped his feet nervously as he waited for Vertrag to return. Instantly he smiled widely as the sun was blotted out by the silhouette of Vertrag. "There he is!" Rhaego cheered, and waved his arms about. The dragon heard the calls, and carefully lowered himself to the ground. With a loud thud the dragon landed, and Rhaego ran up and hugged it around the neck. "I'm sorry!" He cried. The dragon simply hummed happily, and remember something he had to tell Rhaego.

"Rhaego! I met this amazing girl." He said excitedly. "She has a Pegasus and she's beautiful. You might like her. Did she follow me? Oh? Who are you friends?"

Re: Sky Burner [OOC]

Clarissa stared in awe as Vertrag took off, losing track of him after a few seconds. She was wrestling with the urge to follow. Beren sensed her indecision and made the choice for her.

"Come, Clarissa. We will follow him, at least for now." His wings were spread again, giving her space to scramble up onto his back. A rush of wind blasted through Clarissa's hair as he took to the skies, albeit briefly. Beren had landed just outside of the centre of the activity and trotted in, giving Clarissa the chance to smooth down her dress and hair, rumpled from the ride.

The first thing that hit her was that there was another dragon here, and as a result the little clearing was very cramped. It was the massive blur towards the back of the group. The rest of the group seemed to comprise of humans, though there was one green blur that didn't seem to have the right shape. She'd have to get closer if she wanted to know what it was. Beren was shifting about uneasily, not seeming to want to deal with this many potential threats at once.

Keep quiet, Clarissa. He spoke directly into her head, for once, not wanting to be heard. We can talk once we know they're not too dangerous.

Re: Sky Burner [OOC]

The giant of a man widened his eyes upon the sight of the dragon whose name was Vertrag. It was a beautiful thing, really. They belonged in the sky, truly. When the dragon landed, and asked about Rhaego's new "friends", though he wondered if it was too soon to be called that, Dvorak and Daemona Currere telepathically agreed that they should greet the dragon properly.

"I am Dvorak Tryte." Dvorak flourished and bowed elegantly, whilst Daemona Currere sent out a telepathic wave to the people in the area. "And I am Daemona Currere." the proud dragon-like creature tilted his tusked head - as close as a bow his pride would allow.

When he raised his body up from the bow, he turned his body to look at the girl and horse that trotted in then. "And who is this?" a tone of inquiry had entered his voice. The girl and the horse seemed harmless enough, but so did he, before he donned this armor.

Re: Sky Burner [OOC]

Clarissa slid off Beren and stepped forward until Dvorak's shape solidified, somewhat relieved that the seemingly massive form wasn't flesh and blood, but a man encased in armour. He could move pretty well for someone encased in metal, she reflected. She wondered if it was hot inside the suit. She nibbled at her lower lip, casting a look over at Beren before replying to the armoured man.

"I am Clarissa. I followed Vertrag here after your dragon started roaring the treetops off. I wanted to meet his friend." Beren nuzzled at her shoulder, prompting her to introduce him too. "This is Beren; he's been a friend and teacher to me of late." She paused for a minute or two, then tilted her head to the right, curiosity getting the better of her.

"Aren't you terribly hot in there?"

Rhaego looked to the girl who came with Vertrag, and smiled. She was beautiful. The long haired blonde blushed and smiled. There were so many people! And beautiful young girls too. "Rhaego." He said, stepping forwards and holding out a hand for Clarissa. "That's me." He finished awkwardly. "I'm Vertrag's rider. Ah... thank you for taking such good care of him. He seems to like you a lot, Clarissa." Yet again, Rhaego felt utterly inadequate.

The large man was dressed in armour, and looked like a rough and tough warrior. Both Clarissa and Riza were young, beautiful, and civilized looking. Then... there was Rhaego. Dirty, messing, and appearing to be more of a beast than man. His chest exposed because otherwise his body would be too hot, and his teeth were filed into fangs to rip into raw meet. But still, he smiled and tried to introduce himself to people. It was like he was given a second chance at civilization.

Upon the hearing of the girl's question, Dvorak's booming laughter rippled through the clearing, and into the forest, disturbing the sea of calm that it once was. When his laughter subsided and he stopped shaking from it, he smiled at the girl. She must have really vision, for mistaking him to be clad in full armour. Dvorak only had a few random pieces of armour - helmet, shoulder plates, armoured right arm and legs. Most of his torso was unarmoured, so she might have mistaken his blue skin.for armour.

Deciding to help the girl see him better, Dvorak stepped towards the girl to stand in front of her, and as he did so his armour bubbled and shifted, as if it was fluid and notbsolid. All the metal except for the armour covering his lower body flowed off him to form three, football sized revolving orbs that gyrated around the big blue man and he exposed a head of shockingly yellow hair.

"You must be mistaken. Can you see me better now?"

Clarissa smiled warmly at Rhaego; his dishevelled appearance was sort of endearing to her, used to dealing with children who certainly could get into worse messes. He stepped up beside her, offering her his hand. She took it in hers, but didn't shake right away. Her fingers explored his, then the palm and wrist. People's hands said a lot about them, she had come to realise. Slightly rougher to the touch than her own, probably a result of what she suspected was extended time in the forest, but they felt warm. He had good hands, she thought to herself, finally shaking his hand before letting it drop.

Her reverie was broken by the larger man laughing heartily at her own words to him mere seconds before. Dvorak stepped closer to them both, his armour liquifying and seeming to float off in random clusters of metal. He sounded good-natured enough about her mistake, but Clarissa's face turned scarlet with embarrasment and she fought the urge to hide her face in her hands. The blue tint had earned her assumption it was armour, albeit rather sculpted armour.

"I'm sorry, I just thought..." She stumbled over her words. "Well, uh. I can't really see too well, and I've never really seen anyone of your complexion before so uh..." Off to one side, Beren snickered at her almost frantic attempt to take back what she had said. Granted, he was meant to be sympathetic, but it was something he rarely saw. Clarissa gave in to the urge and buried her face in her hands, feeling the burning in her cheeks. She apologised once more, her words coming out heavily muffled. "I'm sorry!"

Once he was sure that the girl could identify him as a big blue giant eccentrically wearing an odd piece of armour here and there and leaving his torso mostly exposed, he closed his eyes and used his imagination to mould his armour back into what it once was, the pieces taking their places on their rightful spots on his body. When the girl started to apologize frantically, Dvorak could feel the dread build up in him. Oh no, oh no. Hell no. Fuck no.

It was like dealing with children, you know. He hated dealing with children, because he couldn't deal with children. He remembered the first time he had a run in with a child. He had knocked down the door to a burning house, and when he got to the kid's bedroom the kid cried even louder at the sight of a big blue giant. That was certainly a traumatic memory. And it was ironically funny when he realized how he faced down a small army of men without even flinching, but feel dread at the prospect of dealing with that sort of frantic situation again.

"Uh. It's alright, you know. No need to apologize so profusely." was all Dvorak managed to get out, in a sheepish manner. It didn't help either, when Daemona Currere stepped forward to nudge her with the side of his giant tusks.

Rhone couldn't help but chuckle a little bit from hearing her full name, he also found how she acted as if she didn't care what he calls her. He thought it was cute. He looked towards his dragon then at hers, noticing the difference in size, he knew had they met differently something worse could've happened. "Well…this shirts gone, it's not a problem though." He laughed softly. He walked over to Thrax and reached into the sack of supplies, given to him by his parents, Rhone removed his torn shirt and replaced it with a vest. Strapping his sword onto his back he glanced again, back and forth between Brynn and Scylla, captivated by the beauty of both the girl and her terrifying and majestic beast. He soon felt interested about how she was traveling, she was a burner, but didn't seem to be carrying a weapon with her. The more he examined her, the more she'd interest him. When he was going to speak another question, his attention was soon snatched when he heard a twig break from yards off. He wasn't sure if Brynn heard it, but from living with a dragon most of your life, you'll pick up a lot of their abilities.

Thrax felt curios of the woman himself, but from what he could tell, the other dragon was Brynn's, automatically naming her a Burner. Thrax crawled over to her stared at her with his large, yellow, soul piercing eyes. The dragon's head was twice her size and the fangs measured as long as her arms, Thrax tilted his head slightly to his right, figure out what she's capable of, he took in a deep breath and shot it out through his nostrils like a gust of wind. Thrax felt she was a strong opponent and also enjoyed her beautiful features; he rose to his feet and spread his wings high to the sky. His tail flailing behind him, he stood tall with his legs like pillars. From where he stood it was like a bear staring at a chipmunk. Thrax let out a loud roar that blasted through the entire forest, and then went back down to all fours and bowed to her, in respect. The dragon turned around and made way to his Burner's side, he spoke into his thoughts, to give Rhone a piece of advice most parents would.

"This one's pretty cute Rhone, don't screw up."

Brynn watched Rhone warily as he walked over to his dragon. She couldn't help but admire how he moved so gracefully. And his dragon... He was gorgeous. He was massive but still as graceful as his human companion. They were a perfect match. Both were muscular and so gorgeous they probably cause girls of both races to fall to their feet. Not her though. Brynn would not be caught dead graveling at anyone's feet. Ever.

She watched him as he took off his shirt, exposing his back muscles while he changed. She might have stopped breathing for a little while. He was just that perfect. Then he turned and she had to quickly avert her eyes so he didn't catch her staring. As he was putting on his shirt though, he seemed to look at her and Scylla in turn. She had no idea what he was thinking but he had a look of interest in his eyes as if he couldn't quite figure something out. She had no idea what he was thinking and it bothered her. She hated being in the dark about anything and the look in his eyes made her want to know what could possibly be so interesting about her and Scylla.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Scylla watched with wary eyes as the dragon Thrax crawled over to her. Even crouched down as he was, he was still a hell of a lot bigger than her. She thought he was beautiful in a way that a panther stalking it's prey was beautiful. A deadly kind of beautiful and in her book that was the best kind of beautiful. Her wariness eased some as he puffed a burst of air at her. She chuckled in her mind as he took off into the air, showing off his massive wing span. Yes he was gorgeous. Just as Brynn thought the man Rhone was. As Thrax looked down at her she tilted her head. As he came back down and bowed her her, she bowed her head back to him in respect. Then she followed him towards their companions where they stood a few yards away. She spoke to Brynn through her mind again. "He's a good man. As is his dragon. Don't let him get away. And stop being so nervous about him. He's trustworthy as far as I can tell." She snorted a burst of air into Brynn's hair to emphasize her point.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Rhone looked as if he was about to say something to her but then he stopped. She furrowed her brow in confusion at what he had taken his attention. Then she heard it. There was a snap of a twig a couple of yards away. Her attention snapped to where the sound had come from. She saw that Rhone was also focused on the spot. She reached down into her boot and pulled out her sheathed short sword that she always kept there. Then she called some water to her, fashioned it to a wicked sword and iced it. Unlike regular ice, her ice never broke unless melted by a fire dragon's fire or unless she broke it. It came in handy for a quick weapon.

She called Scylla closer to her as she readied herself for whatever it was that was out there waiting for them. She glanced over at Rhone to see if he was readying himself as well but he was just behind and she didn't want to turn her head or her back on the spot. Instead, she lowered herself so that she was in a ready position to fight, her short sword in her right hand (with the sheath laying on the ground where it had dropped when she had pulled it out of her boot) and her ice dagger in her left hand. She felt all of her muscle's tense up as her body readied for battle even though it could just be a passing traveler. But something told her this was no ordinary wanderer. She trained her eyes into the woods a few yards in front of her trying to see what was there. Beside her, she felt Scylla draw up to her full height and set her wings half out and her chin up high.

Thrax looked beyond the trees and sensed a multitude of people approaching their position. He held his wings high to the air with flames emerging from between his teeth. He stood half of his height, positioning himself for what was soon to be a short, yet challenging struggle. In the mist of the moment he looked out the corner of his eyes noticing Brynn's abilities. He admired how she and Scylla prepared for battle, how they'd watch each other's backs. It made him proud, knowing that there are still dragons that hold pride in their friends and lives.

----------------------------------------

Rhone saw how Brynn readied herself for what could happen and followed along in her steps. He placed his left hand on his sword's hilt and the right on his sheath, Rhone pulled his sword from it's shell and held it with his right hand, and in his left a blazing ball of fire. His eyes were anticipating any attack that could happen, waiting for any possible strike while watching out for Brynn and her dragon at the same time. Rhone's eyes skimmed the trees, focused on their attackers or lost traveler, but obtained his answer in just a flash. Two men breached from the trees, one shot an arrow towards him, Rhone extinguished his left hand and quickly caught the arrow before it reached his eye. Distracted by the arrow, the other ran into Brynn's direction, before he even breezed her direction Thrax flung over to the man and pinned him to the ground. Rhone soon felt their presence growing larger and larger. He looked towards the forest again to anticipated their moves.

Brynn watched as Rhone formed a ball of fire in his left hand. So that was what his power was. She had thought so but wasn't really sure. She smiled a little. It was ironic really. Her being a water user and him having fire. As she was thinking this, two men, each armed with a bow and arrow, charged out of the trees. The first one shot an arrow at Rhone that he quickly caught, surprising Brynn with his reflexes. The other started to run towards Brynn but was flung to the ground by Thrax. She smiled a bone-chilling smile as he struggled underneath the massive dragon's talons. But it wasn't over yet.

No sooner had the first two men been dispatched, another three came out of the trees. And then another two. She lost count of how many came through but she noticed that each of them armed with some sort of weapon. The closest one to Brynn carried a sword that glittered in the sun. She turned to him and fixed her icy stare on him as she ran towards him, her short sword raised him. She shouted towards Scylla.

"Scylla! Use the ice shards!" She turned back to the man in front of her. They started to circle each other. She feinted left and she got in a hit that slipped between his ribs sending him down for good. What an idiot. She thought. That was such a basic move. Maybe these men weren't as skilled as she had originally thought. They seemed to be slipping up everywhere. They probably thought they would just overwhelm them with numbers.

She looked back as she ran towards the next man and saw that Scylla was pelting the men with deadly sharp ice shards. She grimaced as one of them got a chestful of them. She knew how sharp they were and it wasn't very pleasant getting hit with them. She turned around just in time to duck a swing that someone swung at her. She started to back up as she blocked the sword that was swinging at her. She felt rather then saw Scylla send a wicked looking ice shard into the man's chest. She stumbled backwards out of the way of his falling body until suddenly, she hit into another body. She spun around and brought her sword up to send it through the enemy's chest. She had just swung when she realized it was Rhone. She stopped the blade just short of his body and almost fell backwards.

She was just about to tell him off for getting in the way when, all of a sudden, she felt a searing pain on her back. She whirled around to see one of the remaining men had sliced at her back with his sword. She growled at him and lunged, blocking a swing with her sword and sending her ice sword through his neck. Her vision started to turn dark at the corners and she turned back to Rhone.

"Cover my back and I'll cover yours." She didn't know how badly the man had gotten her with his sword but by the amount of pain she felt at this point, she could tell it wasn't just a scratch. She need to make sure nobody else got to her back.

Rhone's strikes were solid and devastating the enemies bodies, using just one or two slashes. A large amount of men surrounded him but met the edge of his blade in seconds. An enemy struck down with his sword, Rhone positioned his blocked his attack giving him time to kick back another enemy. He shot a blaze of ire at the enemy in front of him, the turned behind him cleaving through the others around him. Rhone was focused on the field until he bumped into Brynn, her weapon was positioned at his torso but he was calm as possible. Rhone's eyes widened when a man came from behind and slashed her across her back. "Cover my back and i'll cover yours." He didn't believe she was serious but could sense it from how she was laying down her enemies. His anger raged past the point of tranquility, he spotted another blade heading for her and lunged his sword in the way. He held it with one hand and showed no restraint of power. He looked up at the fighters eyes, clenching his teeth with a sinister look of no mercy in his own.

He threw the man back with the rest of his bandit group. Rhone skimmed along their numbers determining which direction this battle would go, so far the odds were good but not fair. The enemies had came to a short stop, glaring down Rhone and Brynn. She was wounded majorly from were Rhone was standing, he picked her up in his arms and placed her on Thrax's back. He looked into his dragon's eyes speaking to him through his thoughts saying, "Watch her with your life," then walked back over to the group of enemies. They eyed down Rhone's movements, scoping out their ranks, it was nearly twenty of them against one. In their eyes it was a fair fight. A massive enemy among them grunted with cockyness, carrying a large mace he was instantly named the most fatal of them. Rhone walked towards the group showing no change in facial expression, he sped up half way towards them and slashed the first enemy across the chest. He blocked to hits from the next enemy then kicked him down, he swung left killing another enemy and killed another bringing his sword to the right. The larger enemy swung towards Rhone's head with his mace, he ducked under the weapon then quickly raised back up to cleave him along his side. A bandit stuck out his foot in an attempt to trip the man, Rhone performed a backflip to the back of the group, on the landing he slided on the ground breaking them apart. Most of the group was now gone leaving only three men left, Rhone decapitated one of them as he dashed towards another. He grapped the enemy by the thraot and began to crush his thraot, but sensed the same insidant with Brynn creeping up on him. He looked out the corner off his eye and saw the same man try to sneak up on him. He quickly turned around and used the strangled enemy as a shield. rhone then tossed the body on him to distract his eyes, when the bandit looked up Rhone had jabbed his sword through his body. He twisted the blade and gave him a sinister smile, tilting his head and chuckling as he died. Rhone pulled the blade from the man then pushed it the ground.

Brynn had no sooner gotten the words out of her mouth when Rhone reached around her and blocked a sword that had been coming straight for her. Stupid stupid stupid! She thought to herself. She couldn't believe how careless she had been! She was so worried about her back and yet she left it exposed again! She growled in frustration and turned back to face the next person who dared to come near her. She was just starting to go after one of the men who had a mace in his hand when she was lifted off of her feet. She started struggling and trying to get a hit on her attacker but he was too strong.

She was so enraged and scared that she didn't realize it was Rhone until he plopped her down onto Thrax's back. She immediately stopped struggling and sat there waiting for him to climb on after her. But he didn't. As he turned around to go back into the midst of the battle, Brynn tried to get off of Thrax to go after him but Scylla ran over to her and growled at her, blocking her way off of Thrax. Brynn narrowed her eyes at the dragon and growled back.

"Let me go! What do you think you're doing?" She felt like she could scream with frustration. In fact, that's exactly what she did as well as doubled her effort to go help Rhone.

Scylla just stared at her with no emotion whatsoever. Brynn knew that there was no way that she was going to get past her. With a loud Hmmph, Brynn folded her arms across her chest and watched Rhone fight, tense and anxious for him. For some reason, she was afraid for him even though she shouldn't have been. But he was incredible. His movements were so fluid and graceful that it was almost like watching a ballet. A deadly, gory ballet. He quickly dispatched all of the enemies but three. He seemed to get distracted at one point and Brynn saw a man creep up behind him. She shouted out a warning but he had already turned and shoved his blade through the man's torso. Brynn smiled with satisfaction as Rhone twisted the blade and shoved him away.

Again, Brynn tried to get down off of the massive dragon but this time it wasn't Scylla or Thrax that stopped her. It was her back. Suddenly, she felt such a sharp pain that seared through her back that she almost cried out. But of course, she didn't. She just scrunched up her face and slid down to the ground. She walked over to Rhone, her body tight and tense. She managed a smile at him and faced him.

"That was some fancy fighting you did back there." She put her hands on her hips and shifted her weight onto her right leg. "But don't ever make me sit out a fight."

She glowered at him but couldn't keep her face from breaking into a smile. In an uncharacteristic move, Brynn stood on her tip toes and wrapped her hands around his neck before either of them knew what was happening. She stayed there for a few seconds, partly because she was shocked that she had done that. Then she pulled away and flushed slightly while avoiding his eyes.

"We should probably get moving though..." She shifted her weight back and forth between her legs. "Unless you have somewhere else to go."

She had just looked back at his eyes when her back sent a searing pain that caused her vision to become spotty. This time, she did cry out but it was very soft. Her eyes welled up with tears but she forced them down. She never showed pain no matter what but this was just too much. It felt as if her body was being pulled in two. She bit her lip as the pain waves racked her body.

Rhone appreciated her determination to stand when he saw her off Thrax. Though her smile showed that she has courage, the fact that she didn't want him to worry about her showed him that she doesn't fear for the worst. The look on her face wasn't very convincing though.He new she was bleeding, fataly at that, and didn't need to see it to know. Rhone was going to explain why she was put aside, but before he could say anything, let alone open his mouth, his neck was wrapped in her arms. For the moment he was speechless because of what just happened. When she pulled away the sensation of a warm unknown feeling swirled throughout his limbs. rhone glaredat her eyes, the spoke to him as if begging for him to help her.

"We should probably get moving though.... Unless you have somewhere else to go."

To him, he didn't care where they went, but all he knew was that she needed a healer. When she cried out Rhone quickly picked her off the grond again. He placed his finger on her chin and raised her head to see her face and check her pulse, to see where her vitality is. Rhone can already feel from the moment that had to do something, but felt fear for this woman's life and couldn't understand why. He had to act quickly since time was running out. "just relax," breezed from his lips, he droped to his knees and layeed her on her side. "Thrax" he called, Rhone slowly removed the clothing off her back, but was careful not to do anything that would spook her too much. He gazed at the beauty of her back but at the same time was shocked by the damage done. The depth of the wound was dangerously close to her spine. Rhone kept his right hand on her back and reached into his pack with his left. The items he pulled out was a soft rag, bandages, an elixir, and a needle and thread. The plan to her would probably seem confusing, but this was an old technique that Rhone was taught by Thrax. He placed his hands together as if preparing for a prayer, he closed his eyes and spoke a word in dragon language, "Hend-Dorz" he whispered. His hands soon sparked and blazed with an emerald green flame. Thrax lifted the rag with the tip of his tail. He reached it over and dipped it into the water, he brought it over to brynn's back a slowly cleaned the slash wound. "That's good Thrax." When the wound was clened Rhone eased his hands over her back, the fire regenerated the severed flesh on her back but was still injured. He removed his hands, leaving no burns on her back, he used the needle and thread to close what was left of the wound. thrax used a blanket he had inside his pack to lay out a soft surface on Thrax's back. Rhone covered up her upper body and layed her on top of the dragon. he glance at Scylla and could see she was concerned, he placed his hand along the dragon's muzzle and rubbed the side of her face. To assure her that she'll be fine.

Kaori laughed. "Faster, Furi-damu, faster!!" She yelled, sounding like a little kid. The dragon sped up. "We have to make it home in time anyway." She grinned as her families cherry trees came into sight, and not far from there, a large forest. Someday... someday, I'm going to travel that forest. I'm gonna meet those creatures that roar, and I'm gonna kick some butt.

She spotted her parents waiting for her at the front steps of her small house. "HEY!! IM HOME!" She yelled and waved. When she landed, she instantly began talking. "Mom, dad, I think I'm ready to leave." Her parents opened their mouths, but she stopped them. "I know, I'm only 15 winters, but I really think I'm ready. I mean, if I get in trouble, Furi-damu will be there to help." She paused, looking at her parents with a hopeful gleam in her eyes. "Please? I really really REALLY think I'm ready to go out on my own, and Furi-damu agrees. And you know how wise she is."

Her mom sighed. "... Yes, Furi-damu is wise, and she told us that you would choose when you are ready. And I can see that you are. You have our blessing." Her father nodded once. Squealing in delight (like a small child) she hugged her parents. "Thank you thank you thank you!" She ran to her room.

Rhone picked her up again as the pain rent through her body. His touch caused shivers to run through her body. She lowered her eyes as he whispered for her to relax, his breath causing a jolt to go through her that had nothing to do with the pain. She grit her teeth together at the unwanted thoughts that popped into her head. She couldn't get too attached to him. Everyone she had attached herself to her was gone now. She couldn't afford to lose anybody else.

As he knelt down and gently laid her on her side, she squeezed her eyes shut tight against the pain. It was stronger now and was getting stronger by the minute. He started to remove the clothing off of her back, his touch gentle as a calm breeze. She wished he would just get it over with. She didn't need him to baby her with gentle touches. She was a warrior and warriors weren't afraid of a little uncomfortableness. She didn't say anything though and he started getting things from his bag, calling Thrax over to them. Scylla followed close behind, watching them with a concerned expression on her face. Brynn grimaced knowing that it must be bad for Scylla to look that concerned. Brynn tried to sit up a little to smile at Scylla but she must have twisted the wrong way and pulled a nerve in her back because a jolt of pain that was worse than anything she felt before rushed through her. Then she blacked out.

The next thing Brynn knew, she was laying on a blanket on Thrax's back. She lifted herself a little ways noticing that her back felt better. It was still extremely painful but at least she could breathe without it hurting. She knew that it was only temporary and she would probably die without seeing a healer. Still, it was something she would just have to deal with for now. And she could deal with it; pain was something she had to deal with on a regular basis. She looked around for Rhone and found him by Scylla, comforting her.

"Trying to steal my dragon there?" She looked at him with a mischievous glint in her eyes, a small smirk playing at the corners of her mouth. She spun around so that she was sitting up and facing him.

"What should we do now? Split up?" She hoped he wouldn't say that they should but she was putting it out there to be courteous in case he didn't want to stay around with her.

As soon as she said that, Scylla let out a roar of indignation. That's not acceptable Brynn, Scylla spoke in her head. We need him. Plus, I see how you watch him and how he watches you. And I like him. She winked. Scylla didn't like many people so it was an honor to be on her good list.

Brynn just rolled her eyes at the dragon and looked back at Rhone.

Clarissa jumped slightly as Daemona nudged at her, not expecting the movement. She outstretched a hand, tentatively touching one of the huge curved horns. The beast looked formidable, but the gesture from moments before seemed ill-fitting for that description. With it so close to her, the rich colours of its scales leapt out at her. She cautiously smoothed her hand down the horn, embarrassment forgotten in favour of curiosity.

Beren snorted, directing his stare at Dvorak. "Don't worry too much about it. She's easily distracted, as you can see - I hope your mount doesn't mind her inquisitiveness, it's something she's developed more and more since her eyesight started deteriorating - but tends to get flustered easily when faced with new people." He tossed his head, eyeing his mistress and the second dragon he'd met that day.

"All the same, we've run into three other Burners today already. I can't help but wonder if something's afoot."' He glanced over all the company in the clearing; a wild boy, a warrior of sorts... He hesitated as his gaze passed over Riza before placing her as a lover of nature, uncertain as to what else she could be seen as. A strange set of individuals to meet up indeed.

After packing up a few things, she ran outside. "Furi-damu, I'm ready! C'mon, lets go!" She sprinted to her dragon, then came to a stop. "Furi-damu, I want to try something. Go about 7 feet in the air." Furi-damu complied. Kaori grinned. then backed away a bit. She took a running start, then jumped, flipped, and landed roughly on her dragons back. "Wah!" She cried out as she almost toppled off. Furi-damu grinned and snorted. "Be carefull, Kaori. We don't want to break anything." Kaori put on a stern look. "Now, don't you go talking to your master like that!" She said, trying to keep a straight face. Her dragon snorted again, then rose higher into the air. "Ready?" Kaori nodded. "Ready!" Without another word, the dragon and the girl flew towards the forest.
