Name: Nima Morsus
Age: Approximately fourteen hundred years.
Nickname (optional): None, but Nima is to be referred to with the personal pronoun "zile", which has no alternate forms.
Appearance:Nima is an absolutely monstrous, caterpillar-like creature without any visible distinctions between zile sections. There is no clearly marked head, tail, or any organ on zile, save for the thick, midnight black pieces of overlapping carapace that cover Nima's entire body with smaller sections of strange, blood red material connecting them together. Instead of legs, a series of incredibly complex manipulator limbs with many joints and fingers grow out of certain carapace parts on all sides of the body in a chaotic pattern. These limbs are constructed in a way so they can fold up to extremely sharp, curved spikes adorned by many other smaller spikes on their surface. They can also assume the function of any appendage that Nima might deem necessary.
Because of the nature of Nima, it is not known if this form is permanent, or if it is the form that is seen by every being that lays their eyes upon zile. It is merely a form that zile wishes to assume because of some strange consensus between the many souls of Nima.
Personality:Nima is a being made of countless souls, all of whom are forced to share every single moment of their existence with each other regardless of what they would like. There is not a single private thought, emotion or feeling in zile body, so it should come as no surprise that the only thing that keeps zile together is the insanity that all of zile souls share. As such, the thinking of zile is highly non-linear, often making leaps that no sane individual would be able to do, or skipping several steps of logic, not to mention that Nima is quite unpredictable. While zile does not harbour any intent to kill those who do not wish to harm zile, it can not be said what exactly meets this criteria. At times, Nima has murdered people that have been completely friendly to zile, or left those alone that wished to destroy zile.
There are very few traits which are constant in the absolutely chaotic nature of Nima, but a simply ridiculous level of intelligence is amongst one of them. It seems that zile possesses every single bit of knowledge of the souls that are in zile body, not to mention their combined creativity, which makes for a simply deadly mind. The other trait is the unnecessary cruelty with which zile acts, combined with an uncanny efficiency. The people that Nima marks as enemies often suffer for days without end before their souls give up on their bodies from the pain, but zile does not play around with zile opponents. Another important aspect to note is the direct nature of zile, because for Nima, time is pain. Zile prefers directly discussing the subject, often with a merciless approach that furthers zile goals the most.
An important thing to note is that while Nima speaks with a voice, it is completely unintelligible to most sapient beings. Instead, zile messages are conveyed through an unknown method that seems to warp the world around it. Zile still has to speak, but it is not zile words that are interpreted, rather, it is something else that no concept can quite describe.
Current powers:
Master of All Trades – As Nima's souls are forced to share knowledge, they are also forced to share whatever skills they have learned in their lives. Because of that, zile is an expert in nearly every area that one can think of without any weaknesses in particular. Fortunately for zile enemies, zile chaotic nature often keeps zile from using a particular skillset, not to mention that at times, Nima's pain also disrupts zile actions or thought process.
Absolute Insanity – As Nima is composed of countless of souls, zile no longer affects reality as other beings do. Instead of reality forcing itself upon zile, it is zile that rewrites reality, warping it beyond recognition. Laws of causality, time and even physics break down rapidly near Nima, but zile does not have conscious control over this ability. As such, this is merely an aura around zile that causes extreme discomfort in ordinary sapient beings, not to mention that it makes it incredibly hard to fight Nima directly, as zile always has to be faced on zile own terms. It is not known if this aura can be disrupted.
Implausible Tolerance - The body of Nima is always in pain, so as such, zile is almost completely immune to it. While zile must keep moving around in order to keep it at manageable levels, there is very little that any weapon or device can show zile in the department of suffering. As a result, Nima can keep fighting even if zile is seriously wounded, or if zile is on the verge of dying. However, this does not mean that pain can not be used to disrupt zile senses or actions, because a sudden rush of pain is different that the constant agony Nima feels.
Unified Minds – To put it simply, though every single soul inside Nima is in constant pain, it does not mean that their capacity to cooperate is diminished. As such, Nima possesses the knowledge, creativity and abstraction capacity of countless minds, which makes zile an absolutely menacing enemy to have, but also an invaluable ally. Because there are so many souls watching over a single section of zile body, zile can react to events extremely quickly, not to mention that zile is capable of fine manoeuvres that have been absolutely mastered by the particular soul in that certain area. Nima is also a nearly bottomless well of creativity, ideas and absolutely bizarre approaches to problems. The backside of this ability is that zile is only united in the pain that zile souls share, meaning that orders are not always obeyed.
Absorption – At times, Nima takes interest in certain living beings, which means that zile will make their souls join the countless ones inside zile at one point. Though the exact process of this is not known, it is an extraordinarily painful procedure that requires the victim to be near death, then exposed to Nima's presence for several weeks. Victims of this process usually have their demise dragged out for a long time and exceptionally resistant souls may last for years before they no longer can resist the calling of the other souls' suffering. These unfortunate people are usually seen impaled on one of Nima's many appendages, or in their seemingly pleasant grip.
Bio/How you found Jonathan:
A long time ago, when technology was not as advanced as it is now, there was a pair of lovers who irredeemably fell for each other. Their feelings were stronger than any bond that nature could form, their heart was filled with adoration purer than a diamond and their desire to be with each other was beyond words. They always wanted to hold each other dearly, to always see the light in the eye of the other person. Though their name has been long forgotten, the people of their era called them soul-mates, two people who have miraculously managed to find the perfect love. Like all loves, this one was expected to settle with time so that the lovers could return to their ordinary lives, but still hold each other dear.
But this love was different. No matter how much time the two lovers spent together, no matter how many times they looked into each other's eyes, the hearts of these people only grew closer. With time, they could no longer bear to be apart and whoever tried to separate them was met by fierce resistance. So strong was the attraction between these soul-mates that they wished to be together all time, not just in body, but also in mind, so they have started on a journey. For years, they have searched through countless libraries and have visited many legendary hermits just so they could hear the thoughts of each other, but not one of them managed to provide them with relief. Needless to say, the lovers have become desperate in their search, so they turned to a forbidden tome they found in an abandoned library.
This forbidden tome contained many secrets about the human mind and the soul, revealing several facts that not many humans would dare to share with others lest they fall into wrong hands. As such, it seemed to be the perfect fit for the lovers, but much to their dismay, they did not find anything that would help them to be together in mind. In their frustration, they have started to study the book thoroughly, to learn its theories, but they could not bring themselves to test them, which proved to be their downfall in the end. So desperate they were to always be near the other that they have hastily devised a ritual to connect their minds, a ritual which ultimately bound their souls together, forcing them to experience everything that the other experienced.
Of course, the human soul was not meant to withstand something like that, so as soon as the ritual was completed, the lovers started experiencing constant pain that pressed against their mind. Worse, this pain could not be suppressed because it was not physical, rather, it came from carrying the burden of two people in a vessel that was meant for a single person. While any other human would have gone insane from the unending suffering, the two lovers were able to find solace in the emotions they held for their love, the feelings that they held so dear. But even then, they could barely stay human, so naturally, they wanted to separate their souls, so they kept studying the tome.
After a long time, they have finally managed to find a way to undo the bind between them, but like last time, they did not have the heart to try it on another being, so once again, they performed it without trial. The results were catastrophic, as the ritual ended up attracting the soul of a murderer that died the exact second. Now the weight of three souls was placed onto one, and as such, the fragile balance that existed between the pair of lovers shattered within moments. In that second, Nima was born along with an overwhelming desire to inflict the pain that zile was experiencing on others.
For hundreds of years, Nima sought out victims without rhyme or reason, adding countless souls to its collection with the ritual that the lovers have developed. Zile many parts were only kept together by the prospect of spreading the suffering until zile encountered a particularly strong soul who tried to take over when they were absorbed by zile. At that moment, the victims of Nima realised that they could also try to control the others, thus ensuring order in the chaos, and an invisible war erupted amongst the souls as they fought for dominance. Each of them sought to secure their own paradise, to protect themselves from the pain, but not one of them was strong enough.
As the war went on, the physical bodies of the souls deteriorated into corpses that could no longer serve as vessels, which meant that the souls were forced even closer to each other as not even physical distance separated them anymore. Thus, their pain increased accordingly and soon, the war could not be continued lest they become absolute nothingness. Now united not only by their utter insanity, but also by their pain, the souls in Nima wished for a physical form, which was granted to them, though their agony remained. A grudging, but ultimately insane, nonsensical cooperation was formed by the countless beings which made up Nima, their only common point being that they wanted to end this suffering without giving up their existence.
This was when Nima discovered the phenomenon of Simultaneous along with Jonathan. Zile perceived the state known as Simultaneous as an opportunity to get rid of zile continuous suffering, or if that is not feasible, to spread zile agony across the multiverse. Should Jonathan fail to meet zile expectations, zile is perfectly prepared to absorb even a being such as Jonathan into zile structure, then continue zile havoc across the entire cosmos. After all, what is the point of living if it is not sharing one's pain?
