Similar, but not Parallel: A Trans-Dimensional RP

  • The Premise

Fairytales have painted elaborate pictures of otherworldly beings for centuries. With many of those creatures comes an environment they dwell in. Witches have been said to live in ragged huts while fairies are often depicted spending time around trees or meadows. However, thousands of books contain fictional worlds with human inhabitants. Those stories aren't as far-fetched as one would think. In fact, different plains of existence are real, and many of them contain humans. In fact, some are home to alternate versions of people living similar or completely different lives.

If someone is lost in thought, pondering over a particularly strong wish, there's a slim possibility they'll wander someplace very different from where they came. However, it's just as likely another person intended to arrive there. Well-known to some, and non-existent to others, a barren dimension incapable of birthing life answers pleas. The void, as it's referred to by all peoples privy to it, has been known to grant wishes. Upon arrival, people are surrounded by dense fog from head-to-toe. While there, it's said a voice, identical to whoever's is present, will greet visitors. Groups have reported hearing unsettling harmonies. From there, it will grant people with a task, and if completed, their wish will come to fruition.

For some reason, you've either decided to venture to the desolate land shrouded in fog or wound up there against your accord. Regardless, several individuals from different worlds arrived as well, and everyone has been given the same task. The void wishes for you to travel across dimensions and report what alternate versions of people are doing until everyone has completed ten different records for ten different people. However, you should know, people can't leave the void without accepting its task. A word of caution, anyone who stays there for more than a week vanishes, and is never seen again.

  • Info

    • I want RP members to post twice a week (as a minimum). Post length, for the most part, does not matter. It doesn't bother me when people write short pieces to move dialogue along. However, try to add description and tags.
    • Adult/Profane language is fine, but I ask that participants veer away from sexual content.

    World Name:
    Aboctia
    World Details:
Aboctia is a world which is falling to their own "Fracture of Aged Living (FAL)" Theory. A disease, Avava, ravages much of the former population, mutating the infected into grotesque aberrations which no longer resemble their mankind hosts. This all in spite of Avava's documented history, for in each millennium, Avava resurfaces and causes a complete, if gradual, collapse of whichever sentient race dominates Aboctia. The simple appearance of Avava, however, never spells the end for the species. In fact, many repair the compounds of ages past or build their own. It is usually only due to the infighting and clashing of ideas within one of these fortresses does a breach appear, and the entire population entirely infected.

    Personality:
    -Kind
    -Serious
    -Insightful
    -Not very intelligent
    Work:
Keen had been given one of the numerous short sticks in life, and had been drafted into the Hunter Corps. The military police who are robbed of much of their body and outfitted with technology which essentially makes them cyborgs. They deal with internal disputes while the regular police are tied, or, more commonly, are sent out to reclaim areas or clear infestations.
Unlike other regiments in the army, the have the aforementioned cybernetics, which are too expensive to mass produce, but grant them an immunity from the disease's airborne qualities. A bite, or something similar, will still do them in.
    Living Conditions:
Keen lives alone, in a moderately meager apartment. She isn't used to exorbitance, but still enjoys the luxuries she does have. The rest of her family died during a minor breach in the old outer ward they lived in.
    Special Abilities:
Mechanical Limbs: Keen's limbs no longer feel pain, but can still be damaged. The technology within them also allows them to heal much like a wound would, even in the case of complete dismemberment from her body. They also allow for super-human feats of strength, and dexterity on a moment's notice.
Mechanical Armor: Her implants also allow for an ablated armor that needs to be removed before somebody can do direct harm to her vitals.
Warrior: Keen is more than adept with firearms, and could use more crude ranged and melee weaponry if need be.

Note: @Luminous Ink
Feel free to ask questions (obviously). This is to anyone else, for that matter.
I just have a hard time with descriptions, particularly when I have too many ideas going through my head. >-<

@Voltin: Thanks! I'll place your character's profile in one of the tabs. Mine will be up soon.
