I can find references of what they are, what they symbolize, what kind of art they usually have, etc. though if for example someone makes a CS with affinity to Suit of Cups, sure they can relate to "to the element of Water and is representative of emotions, relationships, feelings and creativity" which is a really broad restriction in my opinion. And yet the original poster implied they would take more time than a CS with affinity to the major arcana, and I don't know how the thirteen different cards in the suit would tie up to it all... if that makes sense...

Yessu sora was so cute this episode :3

Each card has its own impact on it. I think that's what is meant. Rather than taking the whole vague construct and using that, actually break apart each card and apply its defining factor, what makes the card unique to the rest

So is that, like, a single CS would have for example Four of Cups, rather than a Suit of Cups? which, according to this site would mean someone who relates to "Meditation, contemplation, apathy, re-evaluation, boredom, missed opportunity, being aloof".

I mean, I'm just guessing here, but like... Imagine the suit as a gem with thirteen different faces. As a whole it's got a very simple appearance. Shine a light on it and suddenly you have the details of each face shining out and visible. It's more dynamic within the singular one, but when you focus on one face, you get the magnified version of it showing on the wall (Or whatever). Each one would, by my guess, be an extreme of the full suit. You'd use the full suit as one, but you'd have to recognise all the extremes before the whole.

Essentially it would be focusing on each card one at a time, rather than using the aspects altogether. If one card focuses on water, or fluidity, then that's the effect of that particular card, and others would be less effective while accessing that particular one. You'd have a full suit, and that would be an impact, but depending on the situation, one would show stronger than the rest.

If that doesn't make any sense, I apologise, I'm terrible at explaining stuff. Of course, it might not matter anyway, as I could totally be wrong.

@shinakawolf

Can I just point out that the RP will take place in Nevada. I don't think the Yakuza would have much hold in not-Japan.

Also I've kinda got the hand-to-hand combat persona niche filled, I don't mind if you're doing it but just be aware somebody else is also.

@shinakawolf Well wanting to play a Japanese character is all well and good, but being a member of the yakuza doesn't seem to fit. Now I'm not Digiexpert, but mind if I throw out a few ideas that might make your character gel better with the setting? (this is in text form, so of course I will anyways, but feel free to ignore this if you feel like being a jerk :P)

1. What if your character is an orphan of japanese descent who has to struggle with the decision of whether or not to get involved with the organized crime (it would fit especially well with the Devil Arcana being largely about temptation)

2.What if your character is fleeing to America to escape the Yakuza of his home town. Maybe he's forced to decide between morally ambiguous choices because some members of the yakuza followed after you. Maybe the yakuza played a role in Mr. and Mrs. Tokizawa getting killed off screen.

Also, @digiexpert Shinaka's bio brings up a good question: do we start the RP being awakened to our personae?

You don't start with your personas, no. You'll get them mid-story.

Also SMT 4 does show us SMT Asmodeus. He's a user of agi and zio spells, weak to bufu spells. You don't have to copy it, and you can remain overlapping with others (After all, Persona 3 has two physical-based Strike Damage users, but they're not alike at all) but just pointing it out.

So my computer isn't getting fixed. I'm between jobs but as soon as I get one my frist paycheck is getting a cheap computer.

Oh, and, maybe I'm hust shortsighted, but where's the aspects of Devil in that character? I will admit that Devil is an arcana I'm not too familiar with.

Re: Minor Arcana. A minor arcana is an entire suit of cards. It's 13 cards one would have to work into a character as well. Technicall each major is also a suit, just of one card only.

Convenient you ask that today. I got a new computer! It's not the best but it's not gonna break any time soon. Expect a launch in a few hours if all goes well.

Hey, finally in a spot to write out a post. But I really am not sure what to even make it about. Are we just introducing our characters?

Yeah. I set a scene for it to start. If you want to be somewhere nearby, I can help with where that might be. On top of having been to the strip, maps of it are readily available, down to the floorplans of the casino/hotels.

Alright, well I will make a post later on tomorrow. I'm in the middle of packing and getting ready for a trip in a week.

Name: Harmony Liu Dinh
Age: 17
Appearance: (typical)

As a musical street performer:

Backstory: Harmony's story begins with her parents. Her mother was a U.S. soldier stationed in Thailand for a few years, where she suffered hearing loss due to a training shell that went off behind her. Liu Dinh was her birth father, a Vietnamese doctor that took care of her mother for years and before her brother was born, they moved back to United States--hoping that they could start off a new life in the place that dreams could come true. Unfortunately, her father died after she had turned 10 years old, and her mother later remarried to a deadbeat husband that could barely hold a steady job, much less hold his anger and alcohol addiction.
So Harmony quickly matured, learning that life was tough and that she would have to earn additional money to keep a roof over their heads. Luckily she had innate talent for singing and playing guitar, something that her father had taught her to play when she was young. So now after school, every day, she goes out to the strip and either plays by herself or joins a band to earn some cheap change as a performer.

Even though Harmony only plays on the Strip for money, the bright lights of Las Vegas don't hinder her dreams of actually becoming a famous musician someday. Of course, the clubs and casinos do--it seems that every time she tries to audition to become a headlining act, she's never chosen and people make excuses like "you're too young" or "there's better out there than you." Criticism, abrasive comments, and sexual harassment have made her heart tough--she doesn't take things lightly, but she does have an overly caring heart. Aside from keeping her own house maintained, she takes whatever money that she can spare and donates it to homeless charities or the animal shelter. She tries her best to keep other people from knowing what her situation at home is currently, as she hates to be pitied.

Traits: Harmony tries her best to be as solitary as possible at school, she tends to be socially introverted, not to mention she stutters quite often around strangers. Around those she knows, or is accustomed to, she can be quite friendly and sometimes a little bit overprotective. She wears heels often, and when she doesn't, she's actually quite clumsy with both her hands and feet. When she's out and performing, Harmony tends to be approached by perverts, or what she considers pedophiles, and that tends to be when her temper flares. Aside from her dressing up when she plays music out on the strip, she much prefers to be in comfortable but still somewhat stylish clothing.

At home, she locks herself in her room and studies, and when she's not studying, she's a pure gamer at heart. Her room is tidy, but the shelves are stacked with games and huge books. Even though she might play hack and slash games, Harmony has a huge fear of fighting and is a nearly true pacifist. Despite her daily busy schedule, Harmony is an early morning riser and a late night sleeper.

Arcana: The Empress
Persona: Gabriel
Gabriel.png

Persona strengths: Gabriel can resist fire, is
inherently ice/light. Can also blind enemies. Magic and Agility are Gabriel's strongest stats.

Persona weaknesses: Gabriel is weak to dark and electric type attacks, and her endurance is average at best.

Other: Harmony loves sweet foods.
- She is also severely addicted to Boba tea
-Has learned American Sign Language over the course of her life.

-She also is a cosplayer. (When she has the time.)
-Loves cold weather, but hates storms.

Sorry for posting this so late!
I hope this is acceptable, but if you find anything wrong with my application, please let me know.
Can't wait to join you guys, and I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes with my character. (q u q)

@Elyasi I love how it's easily identifiable as Empress, though I think Gabriel has way too many resistances for his weaknesses.
