Tucked comfortably in her futon, Meiko had not a care in the world as she lie still, half awake, half asleep, a bit pleased: she'd slept like the dead last night, so here she was, conscious a bit early. Not tired enough to go back to bed, but not awake enough to get up, yet not feeling anxious or guilty about doing nothing with her day quite yet.
Those balances were practically what Meiko lived fo-
"AVENGERS, ASSEMBLE!"
As Natsuko's abrupt cry sounded through town, Meiko's eyes shot open. With a grunt, she sat up, rubbing her eye as she looked around. She'd definitely heard Natsuko's voice just now on the announcement system...
Figuring that she was now more awake, she might as well get her gears going. Sitting up, she stretched before standing, disregarding her short sleeved pink pajamas as she headed outside, reaching the kitchen, the buzz of the television from the nearby dining room catching her ear. Cracking open the fridge, Meiko glanced around for something to eat.
"Oh you're up early. Miss Mayor wake you?"
Blinking, Meiko glanced over the fridge door, spotting the other daughter of the Tamaki household at the table in the dining room, the edge of the television visible from the doorway. Sharp green eyes, tall figure, long, dark hair, sipping coffee (black) in her school uniform and stockings: Miyako never seemed to be caught off guard.
Grabbing the jug of milk, Meiko answered, "I was already up, mostly."
As Meiko went to pour herself a glasses, Miyako mused, "'Avengers'...isn't it that movie? The big one with all the heroes?" With a sigh, she added, "I hope no one gets mad at her: it's just a little fun." As Meiko sat, Miyako had a thoughtful finger to her lip as she wondered, "Hmm, I wonder if this has to do with her announcement after school yesterday..."
Recalling, Meiko cringed a bit as she recalled the rooftop episode, before beginning, "Oh, that well..." Meiko stopped, blinking, before gasping, "Gack!"
In else in this town could Natsuko be referring too? A handful of folks with special powers...wait, which one was Meiko? It better not have been the big, green on-
Interrupting her thoughts, Meiko stood suddenly, requesting, "Big sis!"
Miyako blinked, "Lil' sis?"
Meiko cringed at that kiddy label before asking, "Can I get some toast?" Before waiting for an answer, Meiko dashed off, thundering back to her room, glass of milk left alone and untouched.
"S-stop running!" came a displeased moan of their mom from her bedroom.
"S-sorry!" Meiko hissed, slowing her roll as she reached her room. Closing the door, she hastily swapped her pajamas for her brown uniform, tossing on the coat as she returned through the door, quickly walking back towards the kitchen, where Miyako waited by a running toaster.
As Meiko took her milk, draining the cup before approaching the toaster, Miyako seemed a bit amused as she asked, "Why the sudden rush?"
Watching the toaster intently, Meiko said, "Er, club stuff."
"Oh, you joined a club?" Knowing what was coming, Meiko stared a bit harder as Miyako queried, "You didn't say you joined a club! Which one?"
Eye twitching, knowing there was too much she cared to explain, Meiko stared at the toaster, muttering, "Oh, well, you see...I'm still not sure if I can take these mornings yet so I wasn't...sure if I'd stay but-"
Meiko hadn't quite been so grateful for toasters as she was when her toast popped up. Grabbing it, biting back a gasp of pain, she turned to go, finishing, "I'll tell you later bye!"
As Meiko headed for the door, Miyako watched for a moment, before sighing, "I could just check the club registry...hmm..."

Outside, Meiko made her way towards the school, one hand empty, the other clutching a piece of toast, its twin in her mouth as she went...wondering why she was running. The cliche appeal?
Slowing down once again, she took a moment to savor her toast. As she reached up to grab it out of her mouth, her heart leaped as it fell, weakened from her bite and saliva. She'd barely touched it, but it was hopeless, the toast flopping mournfully to the ground. Giving a quick sigh, Meiko swallowed the bite in her mouth, offering condolences, before making her way, stuffing the other piece into her mouth whole. As she chewed, however, a thought came to her mind...what if they weren't supposed to meet at the school? Scratching the side of her face and wiping off some of the crumblets, she continued her way, hoping that if she was wrong, she wouldn't be the only one to make that mistake.
