A common theme across many media is when a threat must be kept secret from the general population for one reason or another. In this RP, we enter an alternate Earth where humanity has been fighting many of these conflicts over the course of it's history, with almost all of these organizations having no actual knowledge of eachother's existences.
Examples range from Xenowatch, which protects Earth from Alien invasion, to the Order of the Iron Shield, which stops the supernatural from preying on humanity, to WASP, a hacker organization led by a rogue AI which stops shady organizations from manipulating world governments. I have a few more ideas, and am open to suggestions.
The story starts after a string of unfortunate events causes each one of these organizations to simultaneously learn of eachother's existences, and be weakened to the point of requiring cooperation. How long after the reveal, and whether or not the general public now knows is up for discussion.
A common theme will be how the factions interact to new rules. Ex: Do cybernetics really erode your soul? Can robots use magic? Does radioactive plasma weaponry have the same effect as sunlight? Is artificial intelligence vulnerable to possession?
Questions and suggestions are appreciated and encouraged.
