I can bet that with a posts table the size of Iwaku's, they're using the Enhanced Search addon. elasticsearch (the backend) probably made an oopsie somewhere and went MIA. It happens. Restarting the service should bring it back up, but having never used elasticsearch I wouldn't know much on that front.
