This is a sci-fi plot that's very heavy into genetic experiments, aliens, and some dark fantasy!
The protege of a more than genius scientist has created a helpful element of war, a healer. The monstrosity of a beast came to the conclusion that while death is necessary in Intergalactic wars - the death of your own soldiers is not favored. With medical technology far advanced, but still lacking, a strange organism was created in favor of helping the wounded.
Modeled after a slug, the young woman was born as a second generation to a modified human, of which was a success. Patches on their hands and stomach produce a thick mucus that has immaculate healing properties, taking DNA of the host and recreating what was lost - it's 100% replaced with their own cells, blood, and flesh. These seemingly delicate creatures are always in the face of war, but are a welcoming sight. Calm, delicate, attentive, and sightless. While they do have eyes, they're extremely sensitive to light - a handicap that helps prevent any queasiness from wounds or blood and helps to prevent innate and learned fears through visual stimulus. A perfect creature to attend to the wound and the dying.
A team of the protege scientist had gone on an expedition to an uncharted dwarf planet in the Milky Way, however, communication was lost. No distress calls were signaled, they simply vanished. The scientist ordered a squad of troops - and a single healer - go and recover the missing explorers... Unfortunately, whatever had gotten ahold of the explorers had also attacked the soldiers, leaving the [illegally created] experiment to roam without any protection nor assistance.
The protege doesn't much care for her wellbeing, more so, he cares about not getting caught by Intergalactic Federal law for illegally reanimating an extinct intellectual species for her production. In order to quickly escape any threat of being caught, the scientist sends out an encrypted message to the dark part of space - a massive scale black market or dark web - asking for the return of his experiment in exchange for mass quantities of currency.
This plot includes:
