This is an ongoing RP deriving from a plot I created. I'll lay out all the essential information below...

Plot:

Our story takes place on Cwtch, an island Country cut off from the rest of the world. The setting is present day/ modern. However, magic and supernatural beings exist in this realm. This city was created specifically to keep out users of magic and the creatures that lurk about. No one in the country is allowed to travel outside and no one foreign is allowed in without special permissions.

Crime isn't particularly out of the ordinary for a Country with no ins and outs, people are bound to get anxious and act up from time to time no matter where you put them. Though it also isn't something that runs rampant. Our story starts however at the beginning of a series of crimes happening in the capital of the great city of Pyrmond that have no particular pattern except that they could only be caused by some sort of "beast" that has somehow snuck it's way into the country; at least that is the conclusion local authorities have come to.

A list of species you may choose from (if you have an idea for one to add to the list, let me know):

Human - Regular degular human bebe

Mage - A magical user, activates spells through the use of runes

Witch - A magical user, activates spells through incantations or ingredients

Shapeshifter - A magical user, can shift between human or animal forum (can also be a werewolf, dragon or something more sinister)

Rando - A magical user, has a specific random magical ability that is powerful, but takes a large physical toll (i.e. fire starter, telepath, or something more creative)

Protectors - One of the most powerful beings in the universe. The only trusted species of magical beings trusted by humans that live in Cwtch. So they are the only ones legally allowed inside the Country or risk deportation (or worse, death). Others must hide their identities. Specific magical abilities to heal and make shields (combined they can create barriers like the one protecting the country of Cwtch)

NOTE: Any magical user that performs magic will endure a physical toll of some sort. They can't just continually use magic willy nilly. Also please make characters balanced (pros & CONS)!

This is the map of the island country, Cwtch, cut off from the rest of civilization. The rest of the world is unknown to anyone born inside of this island city. Only someone high up in the government would know what lies beyond the Island. No one is allowed out of the Island country. This place was created in hopes of keeping humans separate from the more gruesome and power hungry supernatural species. Of course certain deals are in place with respected magical beings that help keep the island city protected through use of a barrier.

States:

~ Bayeux (Capital - Facuton) a state with big mountains and some forest, lots of small towns. mostly older people
~ Thovur (Capital - Brury) a flat state with wide open spaces. Mainly farmers and farmland here
~ Leighboia (Capital- Louth) * A suburban state with many small communities*
~ Ewen (Capital - Realeters) another state with mountains and a small population
~ The Great City Pyrmond (Capital - Abingham) an expensive city to live in. Best schools, highest ranking people in society usually live here or those on the rise. Mainly in the capital, surrounding areas some live in poverty
~ Rotnar (Capital - Charlow) a flat state mainly used for waste disposal
~ Capie (Capital - Ganekra) the poorest state in the Island City
~ Pantelis (Capital - Zugbeorn) a poorer state, filled with small towns that trade with each other and Pyrmond
~ Firros (Capital - Rizen) country and farmland, small population
~ C'eaux (Capital - Dogith) more country and farmland, small population

Island(s):

~ Elsum Island (Capital - Ustinwyn) an island in the middle of Cwtch, access is forbidden to any common civilians. people tell spooky stories about this place

Forests:

~ Tintagle Forest (Capital - Forn) largest forest in Cwtch. Many go here for vacation to escape the city
~ Sulveig Forest (Capital - Tultonton) more like a rainforest, another popular vacation spot

Achai Ocean is the name of the body of water surrounding the city

Coworkers: She prefers to work from her home studio, though she owns a space close by. She has a manager/friend who helps her, Sithandra

Insecurities: She looks different than her mother so she's always been insecure about her looks and where she comes from, she doesn't like the tattoo/mark/symbol on her wrist because she knows nothing about her people or where she comes from

Story (required)

Childhood: Growing up she was very close to her mother. She was the only family that she grew up with. Around the age of 10 she began to question where she came from and what her father was like. She wanted any info on her past and her heritage, but her mother became silent and reserved whenever Ada would bring this up. This caused a huge strain on their relationship. She was always an avid reader and learner. She started art at a very young age. Going through school she was always in advanced classes and ended up graduating early
Leading up to Present: After graduating High School she went on to art school. This is where her relationship with her mother began to grow even more distant. She went to school in the great city of Pyrmond ( considered to be on the wealthier side of the island country) and rarely visited her mother back in her hometown in Pantelis. She rose to success while in art school she was discovered by a famous painter. She began painting under her and within a few years time she had enough attention and praise to buy her own studio. She began selling work for thousands of dollars and eventually moved into her own place in the city with enough space for a personal studio.
Present Life: She now works for herself. Recently she got a serious call about the health and well being of her mother and has begrudgingly taken her under her care. She has hired a nurse/caretaker to take care of her. She prefers the company of her best friend/manager Sithandra to anyone else.
