His response wasn't a surprise for her, in fact she had anticipated. She was on her own here and she would have no one looking out for her like her father and brothers. The people here would be against her, so that meant that she would have to constantly be watching her back. Heavens, her father had sentenced her to a horrible life. What wrong had she done to deserve this?

As they finally entered deeper into the camp, Kida noticed all the bones and the red decorating their tepees. Something told her that the red on their tepees wasn't paint and she had a guess as to what it really was. How could they live like this? It was as if their camp represented death.

The Blue Claw crouched on the ground watching them caught her attention and at his outburst, the girl's jaw dropped slightly before her gaze hardened. A few curses danced on her tongue, but she held back.

"Just leave it. I'm sure that was directed towards me, not you." Kida murmured, loud enough for him to hear.

[fieldbox="Koda, teal, dashed, 10"]The fact that his father was watching him mad Koda back down, slowly but surely, his shoulders dropped and he returned to some semblance of a civilized human being. "Yeah, I guess."

The men that had escorted him to the wedding departed and left him and Kida alone, not bothering to bid them farewell, much less congratulate them on their wedding. His father was the last one to leave, and he stopped by Kida to offer her a warm smile.

"Don't let the way my people act get you down. They're good people, I promise." His eyes turned to watch a nearby mother sitting in front of her tepee, holding her toddler to her chest and braiding the little girl's hair. "Just give them some time to warm up to you... Listen, if you need anything, come find me. I will always welcome you." He strolled away, and Koda noticed the way his shoulders bowed - his father was looking more and more like a tired old man with each passing day, and growing less and less like his old self.

He turned away, heart made heavy by the sight. "Our tepee is this way... I insisted on us living alone." He began to walk to the right, away from the center of the camp.[/fieldbox]

The Chief approached them and Kida was taken aback at his warm smile along with his words. He seemed to be the only one here that fully accepted her. Not even his son, who she was sure hated her with his whole being. Perhaps he had wanted to marry a woman of his tribe and she had just killed that opportunity, well it wasn't like she had arranged this marriage anyway. "Ah-Thank you, Chief." Kida said, sincerely as she gave the man a appreciative smile before watching him walk away.

Her husband turned right and began to walk off away from the center of the camp. Well, at least she wouldn't have to worry much about any of the Blue Claws. "I suppose that was a good decision." She answered, her mind thinking through his father's words. Would the people really warm up to her? She highly doubted that, especially when that man had hoped for the death of her first born. "Will I still be able to see my family?" She finally asked the question that had been on her mind the minute she bid them farewell.

[fieldbox="Koda, teal, dashed, 10"]Koda gave her a playful smirk, "That depends on how nice you are to me... Maybe I'll let you." Of course he was kidding, Koda knew how important Kida's family must have been to her. They were obviously the only ones who would care abut her, save for his father - for some strange reason.

His tepee, well away from all the others, came into view the same time the gorge did. It was bright red, like all the others, but larger. Clearly meant for a man of status. "And here we are..." He murmured, pulling the flap of his tent open. Koda abruptly turned towards his bride, gaze serious. "Nobody, not even my father, has been in here. Don't let anyone in unless I say it's ok, alright?"He pleaded.

And that was only because the inside of the tent was covered in paintings - scrawled in fascinating colors along the hide, the shapes of bears, wolves, deer and forests with azure-blue rivers, all painted with the grace of an artisan's hand, all reflecting the secrets of Koda's soul. Every scene was peaceful, full of animals (predator and prey alike) together, with not a drop of blood split. At the very top of the tepee, where few could really reach was a blueberry-black night sky, dotted with white stars that almost seemed to really twinkle, bright and happy down at the wedded pair.
Koda had attempted to erase the paint on one side of the tepee - the neck of a bison was a smudged mess, and a half-browned cloth laid in a bowl of water by that wall. Clearly, Koda had intended to destroy his art before Kida could see it, and couldn't bring himself to do it.

In the corner where Koda had his bed, rocks, branches, and other strange things that struck his fancy were arranged along the wall. An elegant, curled seashell stood out from all the rest of the objects.[/fieldbox]

Kida wasn't happy with his response and had been about to utter an insult, when she caught the expression on his face. He was just messing with her...and if he wasn't then she would have to find a way to sneak her way over there. Her eyes spotted the tepee, though it was overshadowed by the beautiful gorge. When they reached the entrance of the tepee, her husband turned around boring a serious look. His following words caused for her to a raise a brow, before she stepped inside.

The sight that greeted her was breathtaking and she understood now why he hadn't let anyone in his tepee. She was the first to be witnessing this. He had such a wonderful talent and she admired the painting as she stepped forward to take a closer look at one of the forests he had painted. Kida's eyes traveled upwards until they landed on night sky, dotted with white, signalling stars. "You have an amazing talent." Kida murmured and that would probably be the only compliment she would ever give him. Traveling further into her new home, she caught sight of the objects near the bed, a seashell Being the star of the show. "That's lovely." She commented as she walked over and reached out, about to grab a hold of it, but she immediately retracted her hands and clasped them in front of her.

[fieldbox="Koda, teal, dashed, 10"]Koda had strolled over to his bedroll, and sat cross-legged at the edge of the fur. When she complimented him, he quickly glanced away from her, studying the floor shyly. "Thanks."

This would be her home now as well... Koda's eyebrows drew closer together - he would miss the days and nights he had spent alone. Maybe, he had no choice but to sit all by his lonesome, given that he found other people in his tribe... annoying. Having company in his tent was something completely new to him.

Perhaps... He glanced up at her, amber eyes different than they usually were. Perhaps he could get used to it.

Still the hardness returned to his eyes, and the left optic gave a twitch of annoyance as she reached out to touch the centerpiece of his collection... But, "You can touch it if you want... It's yours now too. Just don't drop it or anything." He grumbled, and reached up to pull off his headdress, then ran a hand through his wild locks of dark hair.[/fieldbox]

Kida starred down at the seashell, contemplating on whether to touch it or not. After a second, she turned away from it and looked at her husband with an expression of uncertainty. There was no doubt that Kida was a bit uncomfortable, given the new environment and she was stuck. Normally, she would be eating dinner by now with her brothers, father, and grandmother. Unfortunately, those feasts wouldn't happen anymore or they still would, but she wouldn't take part in them anymore. It finally hit her that she left everything behind. No longer would there be those moments she spent with her brothers hunting, or with her friends. She was all alone.

"What do you do in here?" Kida questioned, quietly trying to distract her mind from those upsetting thoughts.

[fieldbox="Koda, teal, dashed, 10"]Koda sighed through his nose, and laid back onto the the bedroll, folding his arms behind his head as he stared up at the painted stars.

"I paint... I go to the edge of the forest, I sleep..." He said, and trailed off. Sometimes I wish someone was here with me, he mentally added. Looks like I got my wish...

Suddenly he turned towards his wife with a look of curiousity, to ask a question he had never really bothered to ask anyone else before. "What do you like to do?"

[fieldbox="Kida, red, dashed, 10"]
Kida's gaze lowered while she watched him lay down on his bed. She felt completely out of place here and it was only natural given her new surroundings. How long would it take her to get used to this place? The Blue Claws weren't welcoming, save for the chief, and she doubted they would willingly accept her anytime soon.

As he listed what he liked to do, she gave him a small nod before thinking about his question. "Well...I like to hunt. I also like to do woodcarving." There were several other things she liked to do, but she highly doubted that he cared.

[/fieldbox]

[fieldbox="Koda, teal, dashed, 10"]Koda glanced at her, surprise in his gaze. "Woodcarving?" He sounded pleasantly surprised, although with Koda, it was hard to tell when he was genuinely interested in something.

He was, in all honesty. Perhaps she was an artist, like him... His tribe only carved bones out of necessity, and not many people had a penchant for crafting anything besides weapons. "My father likes to do woodcarving..." It seemed that a secret love of art ran in the family. "If you want wood, you can go to him." [/fieldbox]

[fieldbox="Kida, red, dashed, 10"]
Kida could detect the surprise in his tone, but didn't think much of it. Though she was genuinely surprised when he mentioned that his father also like the craft of woodcarving. "I will, thank you." She nodded and with a bit hesitation she sat at the edge of the bed besides him.

This would be her new home and she had to grow use to it, along with the fact that he was her husband now.
