RWBY: Grimm Hearts (Signups Closed)

Violet looks around as she continued no her way. She didn't seem to care much for the surrounding events but enjoyed being on the move and the feeling of her body being darted around like it was. The rifting felt like her body was being torn in two different directions just to snap back into place sending shivers up her body every time. The feeling was beyond interesting and it made her shudder each time. Finally she stopped at hearing a voice call out from behind her. She turned to see her partner stumble right into something. She disappeared from the trees and appeared infront of him.

"The place is right beyond this last grouping of trees." She responded before grabbing his shirt and disappeared to where she had seen moments earlier. Whatever had made him stumble was still around and this was the safest way for traveling in her mind. Although, how he felt about it was another thing entirely... she werent made for her way of traveling. Violet then let go of him and looked at the building around her "Yeah, this fits the picture..." She mumbled before crossing her arms.

Gren kept her wits sharp while picking her nails when Neon called for her attention. Apparently he found something good, and sure enough when she came to see what's up she saw the very ruins they were suppose to find. A bit smaller than she had expected, but it was the right place. "Hell ya! Kinda surprised there ain't some sort of death robot protecting this place, so either we ain't the first or our test isn't over yet. Still, let's get our relic and see if we could make it back to the check point before nightfall." Holding her weapon at the ready Gren moved through the bush and approached the ancient building. It looked like time, elements, and war had made this once proud building into nothing more than a glorified wall. Some students were already inside, and Gren was vaguely certain she they looked familiar to her. No matter.

Gren largely ignored the other two students and looked at the relics. Some were already gone which did mean that some people have already showed up and left. Most of these relics were either red or black cards of different suits. "Jack of clubs... Queen of diamonds... King of hearts... And the Ace of Spade." Gren picked up the Ace of Spade, looking at it back and forth. She wondered if everyone was suppose to pick up a card or if it was only one per partnered pair. She suppose she ought to ask Neon what card he wanted, but before she did that Gren simply shoved the card under her armor. "Oh well, a team's a team. Neon, we should hurry and head on back!"

Neon examined the ruins. He was a little too caught up in wondering how much action this structure had seen. More than him, that's for sure. "Naw, the death robot of doom comes after this part. Ace of Spades, I'll admit I don't know jack shit about playing cards but I think that's one of the best to have." He looked around for a few more seconds. "Ya let's get out of here. I'm getting a bad vibe. But uh, which way is out of here, exactly?" He felt like he was being watched. He had felt like that since he entered the forest but this was...different. For personal reasons he took a small rock from the ruins and stuffed it in his pocket.

"Could you please ask before you do that?" He hated having to beg. Azher should have drawn on her then, if it weren't for the fact that they frowned on that sort of behavior in Vale. Regardless, he quickly surveyed the area she'd teleported them to. Of the most important note: Yay! We're here! More disappointing: The irony of a cripple beating us here. The ruins seemed as if they'd seen better years, most of the columns being rather weathered and some lacking any substantial mass after about three feet up. What stood out in the structure were the numerous pedestals erected around it; some seemed cramped, as if forced into position. They were remarkably clean and intact compared to the ruins around them.

"I suppose those are the artifacts, then." Less of relics, really. More like over-sized playing cards. He saw an Ace of Diamonds by the far east wall, and a King of Clubs by the north. Already the others were picking out a card he couldn't make out. He leaned over to Violet and whispered "Let me take care of diplomacy." A small voice inside him giggled like a child. I really love diplomacy. He was a blur as he drew two basic swords and plunged them into the ground. A swift tap on each from the sheaths sent him flying into the air and deeper into the ruins. "SURPRISE, SHEEPMEN!" He landed behind the other pair, snatched a card at random, and launched himself again from the ruins.

As he flew back, three things occurred to him:

First: Ace of Spades. Nice.

Second, did he see something flash over that hill just beyond the ruins? It had looked like an energy discharge. Like one of those sonic blasts Violet tended to shoot around. But no... She was below him. Literally. "I'd recommend moving!" he yelled down.

And third... Was that girl green?

Naomi stood upon a tall cliff which overlooked the ruins, her eyes sweeping the delapidated area that the students would now be arriving at. She crossed her arms beneath her chest as she watched with a slightly bored expression, her weapon hanging losely across her back. "Seems entertainment finally arrived" she spoke, sighting the students that had entered the area with mild interest. She watched them for a few moments before turning her head to look at those who stood with her, "Get ready, we'll be moving soon" she said, her tone some what soft yet refined, giving the impression of intelligence layered behind the danger the young girl retained within her. She looked back to the students, watching as they'd begin to pick up the artifacts, eyes narrowing as she began to make note of details.

Victor simply looked at the group of kids and stood there silently with his sword in its katana form. He was wondering what their individual semblances were that way he could use his semblance Gemini efficiently. He noted the Grimm in the area and his face darkened significantly. He despised Grimm. They were the reason he was a Hunter in the first place. The bastards that caught him and killed his team were why he could never return to the school. Just remembering that caused him to change the fang of Fenrir's shape to the giant sword he used and expose the canon hidden within the blade. Why he didn't fire the massive gunblade was up in the air. The mission perhaps? Or was he unwilling to get more human blood on his hands unless it was more people like the ones who took his team from him? Who knows, but the flames of rage were burning brightly in his eyes.

Naomi continued to watch before her hand would raise beside her, lifting to make a motion towards some of the 'lesser' members of those which made their organisation. A couple of the unamed gave a simple nod before leaving them, heading away to complete the given order. She turned towards Victor, her yellow iris sighting him curiously before she spoke. "This will be interesting, keep an eye on how they respond to this.. threat" she commented with a small smile, wind kicking her blond hair up beside her for a moment as she turned back towards the ruins. A few minutes would come to pass before they would see the beginning phase of their plan come into full effect, Grimm of different shapes and sizes moving between the trees towards the ruins. Naomi gave a soft exhale, but no sooner had she done so before one of the other lesser members of their organization fired off a blast towards the ruins using what appeared to be a rifle of some kind.

The young girl strode towards him without hesitation, her hand closing on the rifle before ripping it from his grip. She threw the weapon off the cliif side before she scowled at the man, "You fool!" she snapped, "Do you not realise that we're trying to remain inconspicuous!" she said, her tone sharp and firm as the man shrank from her, knowing full well the lethality of her power. "Become a detriment to this mission and I will personally make sure you are removed" she warned before turning towards the others, looking towards Victor and Tasha both of whom were also noted as higher individuals among their organization. "We must leave, now" she said before giving another hand motion to signal to the rest that they were moving out, "This position is compromised... "

Victor put his sword away and sent some threads of his mono-millimeter wire at the foolish minion before he pulled the razor sharp wires taunt, cutting the man into pieces. He then turned to th lower ranked members and said "let this be a lesson to you all. Mess with the plan and you will pay for it with your lives. And I'll be the one that carries out your execution." his expression was cold and there was no mistake as. to how serious he was. When it came to death, Victor was the Grim reaper. He never hesitated to shed blood when someone threatened the mission's success.

Neon was tossing his newly collected stone into the air and catching it. It was simply a grey, mossy, piece of the ruins. He wanted to take it as souvenir. He intended to keep it as a little memento of his initiation. On the fifth throw his hand missed it and fell into the mud. Leaning over to pick it up, he noticed a slight vibration in the giggly mud. "Uhh, do you guys feel that? Is that an earthquake?" He tried to remember a class he took. "The size of a grimm can be determined by the how much the ground shakes." He was confused. No grimm were big enough to...fuck. Immediately forgetting about the rock he turned to Gren. "Hey Gren. How many rounds do you have left?" Fear crept into his brain. He called to the others present in the ruins as the fuel canisters in his gauntlets rotated and ejected the nearly empty canisters with a ping. It replaced them with fresh ones. "We have incoming."

Gren was going to job back to the camp when she heard something in the distance. Something big and thumping, and moving fast. She couldn't really tell where it was coming from, but it was there. And she smiled. About damn time. Changing The God Eater into it's Destruction Form and readied her Semblance. Whatever was coming was big and land based. Heavy too, and there may be more than one. But then Gren heard a shot, and though she saw a blast heading in her direction. She moved out of the way but couldn't tell what almost hit her. Was that a bullet? Or something more? But she didn't have time to worry about it. The noise was getting greater now, so now she needed to focus on the task at hand.

When Neon asked her about her ammo, she only laughed. Too much I'd say. Let's hope these monsters can help ease my burden.

Violet watched as her partner grabbed the object of his choice without consulting her much. She didn't care at all as they were to be on a team anyway to begin with. He flew above her as he called out to them all. She looked around before having her weapon change into its final form for whatever was coming. It was large enough to create an energy discharge that she could pick up. She raised the large Plasma based weapon and began to walk backwards. The others that they were with were an interesting bunch. She had seen them before but enver the less... they had to all work together now.

She disappeared and appeared ontop of the Relic ruins with a large smirk on her face. She wouldn't dirty herself with the clsoe combat likely to occure. She would remain at range and deal with whatever was going to come towards them. She was better off this way anyway. She could fight up close but it was awkward if she was directly engaged. When the object came out and almost struck one of the others she disappeared once more and arrived high in the air. She floated for a few seconds as she gazed down and followed the trail upon which the energy carved. She found a decent enough lead and raised the Plasma thrower up. She fired a blast propelling her backwards a dozen feet into the air. She then disappeared and arrived back on the ground. "Whatever it is.. Its going to have a suprise soon.. unless it moved.. but I think I may have started one hell of a fire."

Neon stood in a fighting stance. He bent the air infront of him. The air became void of oxygen. Only nitrogen remained. His plan was to make any creature that charged him head on lose its breath. It would give him an extra second of defense and/or offense. All emotion drained from his thoughts. A clear mind was needec for this fight. It was almost overwhelming. A thousand grimm shook the Earth, and his Bones. He waited for the pack to come closer. Just a little closer.

"Right, purple sidekick! We're going to want to either help those guys handle the Grimm coming over the hill to eat their faces and steal their gold, or... Run like hell. I leave the decision up to you. Because regardless of your choice, I'ma go kill some skullfaces." He quickly checked his catalyst supplies, and found that they were disturbingly low. Oh. Right. Should've filled them up last night. Taking his hands off the sheaths, he pouted and looked back towards the hills, which were now swarming with Grimm. He also spotted a few humans among them, shouting indistinctly and even firing a few shots at the ruins. On top of the hill, he caught a fleeting glance of a man and woman watching the scene. Going to have to improvise. Concentrating deep within himself, Azher pulled on his aura, solidifying it around his hands and feet. He couldn't feel what happened next, but he knew that they too had crystallized. Each finger and toe could still move like normal, but a single chop from his hand could decapitate a Beowulf if he put himself to it. Removing his gloves and shoes, Azher flexed his diamond-like limbs, and set off at a run back towards the ruins. "By the way," he yelled over his shoulder. "I've got the artifact."

He slammed his sheaths into the side of a boulder and vaulted into the air. He glided a few meters before landing back in the ruins. Azher shrugged off the rather hard landing and turned his attention to the person who seemed most prepared for the situation. "Okay, green lady? You've got incoming over that hill. If you hadn't noticed."
