Rurouni Kenshin Creator Arrested

That's messed up. I can't even fully wrap my brain around it.
 
Hollywood, now anime.

My mind should be mentally prepared for more of this to come, but I know it won't be ready.
 
I'm not even surprised by famous people being shitty anymore. Just another Tuesday.

Sometimes you've got to separate the work from the creator. I never watched this series, not even sure if it's still going. But regardless of the mangaka's... situation, Rurouni Kenshin was/is a great show for a lot of people. I'd encourage people to look past crimes the author committed and appraise the work by itself (unless there were questionable things in the series... though I don't believe there were).

Obviously, I'm not condoning what he did.

It doesn't change that I enjoyed coming home from school to watch it on Toonami. He broke the law. And he'll, hopefully, be punished according to the law. That's all I really need to know on that.
 
What even crazier is that stuff was only made illegal in Japan in 2014!

It shouldn't be shocking considering that Japan is suffering a major population crisis. Their birth rates are so low that it's affecting their economy drastically. Combine that with their suicide rate (the highest in the world) and it's shocking that Japan isn't a ghost town yet.

It means the Japanese are becoming more and more desperate to breed and will do anything. Even moral depravity. That was my point.
 
Er, it's more like there was a law passed before 2014, but it had a glaring loophole in it that was then corrected in 2014.
