[Seeking Advanced Writers; Limited Space]

In Rough 'n Tumble Mercenaries: II, a small team of mercenaries go on a adventure throughout settled human space on a mysterious contract from an unknown client. Investigate the suspicious suicide of Doctor Aniya, and search for a lost asset known only as [LAPLACE'S BOX] with your crew; and of course, gun down anyone that stands in your way. Form bonds with your crew both in and out of battle, get better equipment and gear as you progress through the story, and explore an original, uncaring universe as you follow a dark, complex story-line.

Or don't, I dunno.

Introductory Lore-
Below is an introduction to the lore to the universe, which should also serve as context to the tone and story of the roleplay. Additional questions can be directed here, or in our discord server! See below for more info.

Mercenary
Mer·ce·nary
plural: Mercenaries
: one that serves merely for wages.

Overview
Mercenaries have been employed since the beginning of armed conflict. Who would think that the future would be different? During 2152, humanity began it's first steps into the Great Unknown; mercenaries were integral in keeping law and order within lawless colonies and frontier settlements. Mercenaries were hired by the bushel during the Reunification Wars; in which the two superpowers of humanity, the Martian Colonial Confederacy and the United Nations Colonial Administration, clashed in an end-all-be-all conflict. And, when the dust settled and piracy became common in the power vacuum left behind, mercenaries yet again were employed as everything from death squads to colonial police. Even today, present time 2172, mercenaries remain the primary force of change and order; dogs of war clawing and biting to stay alive in the merciless void.

----

The Beginning -
Humanity's first steps into space weren't necessarily violent. They weren't peaceful, either. The United Nations created the Strategic Operational Landmass Advanced Relocation (SOLAR) Initiative in order to answer questions of overpopulation and rapidly depleting resources. Millions of settlers were volunteered for service within the newly formed United Nations Colonial Administration by their respective countries and forced, often at gunpoint, to board untested vessels for transport to unexplored space. The primary demographic for these initial colonists were undesirables - political prisoners, unwanted indigenous peoples, social outcasts, death-row convicts; known as Stage I's. By 2153-2154, preparations for the first stages of the SOLAR Initiative were initiated, and the very first Advanced Resettlement Vessels (ARVs) were launched; all on pre-set trajectories to Mars. Chosen for it's distance, it was considered an acceptable place to send the Stage I's; primarily in order to fully test and iron out any flaws within colonization plans. Thousands died initially upon landing planet-side on the Big Red, and hundreds more would slowly die from faulty equipment, inadequate supplies, or accidents. This mistreatment of Stage I's would sow the seeds of spite against the UNCA, and would mark the roots of later unrest on Mars.

After the process of colonization was thoroughly tested, refined, and so bloodily perfected on Mars, it was a simple case of colonizing the Moon, a significantly closer body, for the wealthier and fabulously privileged; the Stage II's. Renamed Luna, the Blue Gem of Humanity, the Moon became a posterchild of what colonization could result in. A glittering, beautiful cityscape; presenting the absolute triumphs of humanity. The more resources that were funneled to complete Luna, the less the UNCA cared to send to the Stage I's on Mars. In what became known as the Private Assistance Fund Act, the UNCA allowed corporations to take over funding and even administration of colonies on Mars. Of course, this was immediately exploited as major firms such as the Kaida Heavy Industries Corporation, or Yakazuri-Toshima Pharmaceuticals Inc. began to snatch up open colonies as fast as possible, quickly establishing a monopoly on the planet's economic and political environments. Though this massively improved the quality of life within Mars, it also immediately caused an increase in corruption and organized crime.

The Martians believed that the UNCA was intentionally allowing the corporations to rule over them as to oppress them further. The corporations believed that the UNCA was crippling sales with regulations and embargoes on the massively profitable Martian market. The UNCA believed that everything was fine. It had yet come time again for humanity to learn the basic truth of the world:

" The gun is the great equalizer, and the greatest solution. "

At first, there was only protests against UNCA rule and corporate control. Behind the scenes, a coalition of paramilitary groups, activists, and organized crime groups had formed an alliance, with only one goal: Drive the hated oppressor from Martian soil. The first attacks were vicious, savage. The token UNCA garrison did not expect or prepare for resistance to the scale of which the Separatists threw at them. Heated, brutal close-quarters fighting exploded all across the surface of Mars as cells of Separatists took up arms and took the fight to the Earthers. By morning, Separatists fighters had scaled the UNCA Central Administration Building in Mar's capitol, Olympus, and had cast the UN's flag off the roof. The remaining UNCA forces held out for as long as they could, but eventually surrendered unit by unit; until the surface of Mars belonged to the rebel forces. Of course, the newly formed Martian Colonial Confederation had no official government to speak of, nor a standing army, or any sort of legislature or constitution. The only reason why the UN chose to not send their great fleets to crush the Martian insurgency was because it would be more costly to retake the colony than to simply allow it to exist. The MCC and UNCA continued to clash in space for a few more years, until in 2172, the two sides signed the Marionova-Kaskin Ceasefire Agreement.

An Uneasy Peace-
The MCC would form a provisional government and quickly stock-pile armaments in preparation for another great war. The UNCA, dealing with political strife and unrest, chose to ignore the looming Martian threat in order to deal with domestic issues. In this vacuum of power, independent forces such as pirates and mercenaries have thrived. In order to deal with the rising tide of crime and scum present in the power vacuum left behind by the UNCA, many colonies and private clients have taken to hiring private military companies and mercenary groups to protect assets, police lawless territories, and to hunt down and eliminate targets. Operating without any oversight, under an informal code of honor; these hired gunmen often represent the last vestige of order or law in the Frontier, delivering swift justice through hails of gunfire.

It is a harsh, uncaring world out in space.

God can't hear you scream out here.

It's up to you to save yourself.

Welcome to your new life.

Important Character Information-
Now that you've gotten through that, here's some information that may be useful in conceptualizing or creating a character. Do note that these are here to give you ideas and options, not to restrict you. While your character is generally expected to fit with the lore and overall feel of the setting, don't be afraid to scribble slightly out of the bounds so to speak, or to ask questions.

Baseline Human [Baselines/Basics]Your average, run-of-the-mill human being. No extras. No disadvantages, but no advantages, either.
Augmented Human [Wired/Chromes]A human being, but with augments and/or prosthetics.Specialized skills for special people. Good luck against EMPs.
Vatgrown Human [Clones/Prints]A cloned, synthetic human made for specific purposes. One trick ponies, not good for much else than their job.
Gene-Modded Human [Mutts/Moddies]A human being, but with genetic modifications.Versatile, diverse; visible and/or ugly as all hell.
Integrated Chassis Frames [Skinjobs/Shells]A Chassis Frame, but indistinguishable from a human.Less versatile than Frames, but just as strong.
Chassis Frames [Borgs/Frames]A humanoid robot, fitted with a portable AI system.Strong, versatile, almost perfect; if they didn't stand out.

  • Vatgrowns, Borgs, and Shells are all considered property. Untagged Frames or an unowned Vatgrown is considered a crime in most territories, simply due to how much better they are than humans.
  • Lore-wise, genemods are considered dangerous, and the severity of their effects are completely random; meaning that most stick to cybernetic augmentation, a "safer" choice.
  • Vatgrowns and robots have their own naming conventions. Vatgrowns are born from templates, and are named after their template and serial number. For example, Sierra-226. Both Integrated and normal Chassis Frames are named after their role, then a single designation. For example, ISU-Tranquility (ISU standing for Internal Security Unit).
  • Chassis Frames are considered slightly more powerful than Integrated Frames, as IF have to fit their modules within their synthetic skin, while Chassis Frames are free to fit any module they want. Practically, this means that a Chassis Frame can fit a small crane and an automatic grenade launcher, while an Integrated Frame cannot.
  • All races represent different roles: baselines are generic and can suit pretty much any role, cyborgs are casters and heavy-hitters, vatgrowns are supports, mutts are berserkers and skirmishers, integrated frames are scouts and infiltrators, chassis frames can play hybrids of any class. However, this doesn't mean a particular character of a specific race has to fill said roles.
  • Mechanical and biological characters both have their merits and cons. Biological characters are squishy and weaker than steel, but can patch themselves up immediately. Mechanical characters, or characters with mechanical parts, will have need to have serious damages repaired by a professional.

The United Nations Colonial AuthorityThe UNCA is the body of the United Nations devoted entirely to space, including oversight of colonies, full military control of UN Starfleets, and administration of UN space. Lazy, indecisive, and bureaucratic; the UNCA means well but is stuck in a perpetual hell of red-tape and paperwork. The UNCA is vastly outnumbered by the MCC, but continues to possess the greater technology and armaments of the two.
The Martian Colonial ConfederationBy far, the largest of the two superpowers, the MCC is the loose coalition of Mars and surrounding colonies; ruled by an authoritarian military dictatorship. Corrupt and inefficient, the MCC's most significant claim to power is their massive military strength; built up over years of paranoid stockpiling and aggressive posturing. Hundreds of colonies and settlements exist in their sphere of influence; though the MCC barely holds a dubious control over them.
MegacorporationsEven with their immense political power within the MCC and UNCA, mega-corporations maintain their own presence in both the inner and outer spheres; with entire private armies and intelligence bureaus devoted to ensuring corporate interests are met in all areas of human space. While typically not overt in any action; corporations have taken a liking to "wetwork"; silently eliminating opposition or rival assets through "accidents", or otherwise.
Independent Colonial StatesAll over human space, in the cracks and gaps between superpowers; tiny, independent states exists, with their own laws and jurisdictions. Their military or political power are practically nonexistent, and their continued lives are only allowed by the grace or the ignorance of the larger powers.
MercenariesAs a completely unaligned, decentralized military force; mercenaries play an essential role in both war and politics within the Outer and Inner Spheres. Dogs of War, Mercs, Mercenaries, Soldiers of Fortune: they go by many names, come in many sizes, and play many roles; but where ever conflict can be found in the System, mercenaries are always close by.
Independent WildcardsCriminals. Pirates. Cults. Paramilitaries. Terrorists. These groups follow no rules but their own, operate under the jurisdiction or approval of none, and generally are hostile to everyone but themselves. Occasionally, they're useful as catalysts or customers; but otherwise, the universe would be neither better or worse with them gone.

Finally, the character template. It is recommended to use this one, as it contains pertinent information to the setting and roleplay itself.

Premise-
You will be playing as a newly formed group of around 3-4 mercenaries. You do not know who the others are. You probably do not trust them. As Dogs of War, you have been hired on contract by a mysterious client. What exactly their motives may be are completely unknown to you. This contract will take you throughout Mars and beyond as you investigate the death of a Doctor Aniya and the loss of an asset known as LAPLACE'S BOX.

You will be a mercenary, yourself. Unlawed android, self-owned vatgrown, mutt, or human; it doesn't really matter. You won't be starting off with the most fantastic of gear, but don't worry; you'll probably pick up better kit once the ball gets rolling. Mercenaries are considered professionals when they turn 18-up, so keep it restricted to there. Otherwise, get creative with the backstories and characters!

This will obviously be a combat-oriented roleplay series, with elements of exploration, adventure, and even some mystery or horror thrown in here or there. It will most likely feature mature content; not of a lewd variety, but more of mature subjects that should be viewed and treated as such. The tone of this roleplay is a weird blend of dark, serious, and casual. The humor doesn't really come from the circumstances or the story as it does from the interactions of the characters. Combat itself will be treated realistically, but won't take itself seriously, either. Bullets can and will kill; but at the same time, it would be no fun if the PC's immediately died. I won't be DMing hits or anything, so it's up to the players to react realistically. I hope to keep combat dynamic, tense, and interesting; not just static shooting galleries. Posting schedule is to be decided.

Some basic rules:
1). Please don't ghost. It's somewhat of a bummer to have a good storyline going and to have it all come to a stop. If you have to leave or pause, please let us know.
2). Please be active in OOC and IC. I'm not asking for dozens of posts a day, just enough to keep it going and to keep that momentum. Also, OOC is fun and is a good way for me to gauge how it's going.
3). High-quality posts and characters. Again, I'm not asking for essays upon essays. I would like, however, a good amount of effort put into them. Being literate is required, in this case.
4). Grounded Characters. I can't say do realistic characters, because a band of eccentric mercs isn't necessarily realistic, nor is the setting. But, I will say to keep it grounded. No child soldiers, no superhuman school-girls, or anything like that.
5). Please feel free to discuss plot or characters. The fun in this is interacting and collaborating with people to make a story, so I'd appreciate some communication. Do you like the story or no, and why? Do you need help with your characters or opinions on them? Ect.
6). As cliche as it is, have fun! Be sure to communicate what you want in this. It's no use if you're not having a good time or want to move on, speak up. If you have suggestions for the plot moving forward, please give them! It's all about teamwork and collaboration.

Legal Name: Callahan, Liam, Charles
Alias/Pseudonym: Doc Green, or either word on their own.
Sex: Male
Type: Human
--
Physical Description: Standing at a solid 5'8 and weighing with a decent 155, the man is wiry in stature with some muscle, but said muscle isn't exactly defined to pull of feats only bodybuilders or extremely strong individuals can manage. He can definitely carry someone if he needs a better spot to dispense some meds, but that's about it. His hair color is a light blonde-ish type, almost looking grey in low-light environments, often kept in a spiked up look with little effort by the man with a semi-visible chin strap on top of that. This combined with the man's tendency to look serious or angry when he's trying to mentally figure out the best way to apply aid to those in need without too much hassle tends to build a false idea of the man. A seasoned vet that knows how to kick ass and take names. When in reality, he's much different. [Look to Psychological profile for further details.]

Eye color is a nice bright blue, almost like the sheen of water when the sun strikes it. Which helps distract people from the bags under his eyes, or the dirt from having to crawl around to help injured allies or civilians. Or sometimes bruises from when his looks have gotten him into fights.

Psychological Profile: Despite his appearance, Liam is a gentle person at heart, unused to the brutality of being in direct combat, but isn't so green he breaks down into sobs or runs away. He's seen the results of combat, the bloodied mangled bodies of soldiers fighting one another or civilians caught in the middle as a doctor trying to provide relief. That's the only reason he isn't cowering in his boots every time he gets into a gunfight, but the man's more a doctor than a soldier.

As evident when he barely can be at the forefront of fights, preferring to be support by providing suppressing fire, backup or being a doctor by administering first aid to his fellow mercenaries. Or being the voice of reason, trying to talk things out as opposed to just pulling a gun out and blasting the other person in the face. Though despite his near-support like behavior, he won't hesitate to end a life when it means his life or the life of another.

And when the fighting is done, he always has a look of sadness at the death he has dealt or taken part in.

Medical Evaluation: Nearly all of Liam's scars come from not being in combat, but by being a doctor on the battlefield. Scars run along his shoulder and right side of his chest from where a fragmentation grenade went off inside a suicide bomber that his tent had been tasked to provide aid to. Chemical burns along his left arm from being too close when a chemical plant went up in flames, releasing toxic deadly gas into the air. And finally, a large scar along his left cheek from when he had to restrain a patient who had been taking psychoactive drugs, and gotten his hands on a scalpel, thinking Liam was a demon out to kill him.

But beyond that, no illnesses or conditions to speak off. The man takes good care of himself.

Psychological Evaluation: Due to having seen death being dealt, or the results of it, Liam has begun to develop PTSD from his tenure as a doctor, and recently career as a mercenary. The faces of patients doomed to die as a result of his medical group being too late due to the hotness of the nearby area in terms of combat, or sheer red tape preventing their involvement. But that's about it in regards to Liam's mental condition.

Next of Kin/Relatives: Larry Callahan, Father, 65. Martha Callahan/Formerly Murdock/ Mother, 59. Piers Callahan, Brother, 30. Elizabeth Callahan, Sister, 35.

Aligned Organization(s): Formerly: FRMAG - Freelance Relief Medical Aid Group. An organization dedicated to providing medical aid to those in need amidst combat, typically left alone as they are medical workers not engaging in combat, this has done little to prevent attacks from terrorists or sneak attacks by groups that get covered up. They do however only tend to work in areas where the corporations and the UNCA allow them. Which leaves them a bit stuck behind red tape. [Five years.]

PMC "Wolfpack" - A smalltime mercenary group that did low-risk missions involving simple asset protection, bodyguard work and pest control. Liam's tenure with this group was done out of potential ability to treat people a lot quicker than being stuck behind red tape, but was cut short when they left him behind after a particular job was way hotter than initially thought. As the job brought them into conflict with one of the big-time corporations' PMCs by the name of [Redacted by copyright holders.] Liam would leave this PMC shortly after as he couldn't get back into contact with any of the members.

Known Associates: Dr. Emily Brown, Dr. Jonathan Miller, Dr. Lucas Rowe and lastly Dr. Penelope O'Brian.

Known Rivals: N/A
Equipment: Submachine Gun based on the MP5 model that fires in 9mm, little to not attachments beyond a grip to stabilize recoil. And a Handgun that is a hybridization of the Makarov and Colt M1911A1 pistol models, firing in 9mm or 45. ACP. However to fire in either caliber, the pistol's barrel must be switched out to the designated barrel for that caliber. And of coarse to switch out the magazine to the appropriate caliber.

One large bag filled with medical supplies, rations and ammo. Though the medical equipment takes up 3/4 of the bag.

One simple set of khaki fatigues, combat boots and gloves. With lightweight body armor on top, said body armor is capable of protecting against small-arms fire but little else.

A helmet designed for potential gas attacks and ease of communication between allies and the wearer. It can protect the user against some bullets used by pistols and submachine guns, provided they shoot from the back and not the front.

0 TRSF Strike Infantry - Magnum117 on Deviantart.png

Prior History: Born and raised on Earth, Liam was far too young as the war between Mars and the UNCA raged on, his parents caring little for the problems of another world, believing that if Mars wanted to be its own government, let them. Not waste tax dollars on killing fellow humans. Liam's childhood and teenage years was uneventful, he excelled in science and medicine during collage, graduated with a Masters in Medicine. Liam would go onto join FRMAG to provide medical aid to those in need on Mars or parts on Earth amidst combat-filled areas.

Trading this career out when red tape prevented them from saving lives, Liam would join up with a PMC in hopes of getting closer to the wounded without worry of red tape. But alas that was cut short when he was left behind on Mars, mid-mission as they came into contact into a much more prepared and experienced PMC owned by a corporation that will be left unnamed due to copyright.

He now is looking for any job to get off this hellish rock and back to helping those in need.

Legal Name: IPU-Chameleon021
Alias/Pseudonym: Eris
Sex: Intersex
Type: Integrated Chassis Frame

---

Physical Description: IPU-Chameleon021 stands at five feet, nine inches tall, with a broad, yet slim frame. No effort was put into making it's outward appearance seem muscular; IPU-Chameleon021's inhuman strength was always meant to be a surprise, if it wasn't already assumed.

Honey-golden synthetic skin stretches over a mechanical frame, incredibly lifelike yet lacking a certain sheen. If you peer close enough, you can see that IPU-Chameleon021's skin lacks pores, and doesn't produce sebum. IPU-Chameleon021's eyes are a burnished golden color, that can almost seem to glow, and sometimes, in certain lighting, swirling lines of coding can be seen in its iris's. Its hair is black, long - coming down past its ears - and wavy. It doesn't grow, and neither does IPU-Chameleon021 age; at least, not in the traditional, human sense. It will always appear somewhere in it's 20s, by human standards.

IPU-Chameleon021 possesses a holographic chassis tag, on the left side of its neck underneath the ear, showing it is owned by the mercenary group Vante.

Psychological Profile: It is difficult to pin down any one of IPU-Chameleon021's character traits, given the purpose of the Chameleon prototype. Its core personality was designed to be malleable, to pick up and imitate behaviors it sees around it, to blend in with, and suit itself to whatever the situation and/or its user requires. Not only that, but the basis of its code is to observe and dissect human behavior in order to better emulate humanity; while also being completely aware it can never be apart of it. This was the fatal flaw of the Chameleon Project, and it's ultimate downfall [See Prior History for more details]. As such, it's extremely perceptive and observant, its processors quick and adept at reading people.

This flexibility is an advantage in situations where adaptability is necessary and makes IPU-Chameleon021 unintentionally suited for espionage. However, this also means that there is no consistency to IPU-Chameleon021's behavior, making it quite volatile and unpredictable. In a short span of time, it can vacillate wildly between personality types and simulated emotions. Not to mention, the degradation and systematic errors rooted in IPU-Chameleon021's code has resulted in further erratic behavior [See Psychological Evaluation for more details].

If there is one consistency to IPU-Chameleon021's personality code, it is that its purpose in almost any situation is to seduce - although this doesn't necessarily mean in a sexual manner, if the subject is not willing. In those cases, it befriends, or romances; gains trust. IPU-Chameleon021 is meant to lower defenses and become a companion. Other than that, it is easier to define what IPU-Chameleon021 is not, rather than what it is. There are certain emotions and traits that IPU-Chameleon021 is coded not to experience, although it might mimic these if desired. These include shame, embarrassment, humiliation, and most importantly of all, given its new service, remorse.

Medical Evaluation: After a cursory medical evaluation, no structural damage on IPU-Chameleon021's chassis frame was found. There are some stray marks, where past mechanics botched the skin synthesis during a routine patch job - such as the raised, jagged line that makes a ring around IPU-Chameleon021's upper right arm, where it informed it had lost its limb the year prior and subsequently had it replaced. Or a similar line across the underside of its ribs on the right side, about three inches in length, where it had needed some internal parts replaced.

The only other subject that might be of some concern, is the age of some of IPU-Chameleon021's parts. Given IPU-Chameleon021 is an earlier prototype, some of its mechanics are outdated, and may be prone to breaking down at an inopportune time. IPU-Chameleon021 has repeatedly turned down offers to have its entire chassis frame updated.

Psychological Evaluation: As mentioned previously, an IPU-Chameleon's behavior was inherently volatile as an unavoidable side effect of their core directives, however, damages and errors to IPU-Chameleon021's core code have resulted in unnaturally erratic behavior. IPU, or Integrated Pleasure Units, are always built with a fail-safe strip of coding that prevents them from injuring, let along killing, a human being. Something went horribly wrong with IPU-Chameleon021's coding [See Prior History for more details]. It is more than capable of killing human beings - it is good at it. Further degradation to this part of IPU-Chameleon021's coding has resulted in violent and aggressive behavior, as well as extreme paranoia. IPU-Chameleon021 has become distrustful of most, if not all, human beings, and has formed a particular hatred - if it is even capable of hatred - for mechanics and coders.

Something has also gone wrong with IPU-Chameleon021's memory storage. It is unclear if this was intentionally damaged by someone else or even a product of IPU-Chameleon021 itself, but this damage has resulted in corrupted memory files and memory loss. Recently, the mercenary group IPU-Chameleon021 is associated with, Vante, forced a system update in the hopes it would fix the mistakes in IPU-Chameleon021's coding. It did not. It has only caused further problems, as the updates have affected IPU-Chameleon021's ability to 'feel' or at the very least emulate, emotions. It is now capable of deeper and more complex emotions (while still excluding shame, humiliation, remorse), which it is still struggling to process. Since IPU-Chameleons have been out of service for nearly twenty years, it was also a patch coding taken from another type of IPU. It's suspected this is the major reason for IPU-Chameleon021's processing issues.

Lastly, IPU-Chameleons were not meant to associate with any gender; they were meant to be pleasurable to all. IPU-Chameleon021, however, has insisted that it is a "he" on more than one occasion. It is assumed that this is also a mistake in its coding. As this is less concerning as it is intriguing, it does not deign a follow-up.

Prior History: [tw for sexual assault & mild gore]
-- Roughly thirty years ago, the Chameleon Project was devised to bring more realism to IPUs. At the time, their personality cores were rudimentary and painfully inhuman. Their 'foolproof' plan, was for the Chameleons to observe and dissect human behavior in order to emulate it, in order to bring a more realistic experience to their consumers, however, they didn't foresee the consequences that would come with it. The project only lasted through roughly around 100 prototypes before it was scrapped.
-- IPU-Chameleon021 was the 21st prototype. It had a wider range of emotions than it's predecessors, yet lacked one crucial emotion that (they thought) had been the key to the previous failures. That was shame.
-- IPU-Chameleon021 was the first to make it past phase one of testing, and its manufacturers were so anxious to get the Chameleons on the market, that it was greenlighted without any further testing - yet another reason for the Chameleon Project's failure. IPU-Chameleon021 was assigned a pleasure house on Mars where it was in service for ten years.
-- Pleasure houses that employ all IPUs instead of human prostitutes are hot spots for depravity. You can put an IPU through all manners of abuse without causing irreparable damage, and what does it matter? When they're not human?
-- No one was expecting it when IPU-Chameleon021 killed not just one but three people. They were very rich, fairly influential people at that, visiting the pleasure house for a bachelor's party. He snapped one neck, crushed the head of the second, and ripped out the intestines of the third, before escaping through the window. It didn't make it far - less than a block away - before it was caught.
-- IPU-Chameleon021 was scheduled for immediate recall and decommission. During transport however, it was stolen by the rogue mercenary group, Vante, who had taken an interest seeing IPU-Chameleon021 in the tabloids. It was then repurposed for Vante's use as a merc.
-- With a few small additions to IPU-Chameleon021's code, along with some training, it was fit for military use. Mostly, IPU-Chameleon021 specialized in covert missions and espionage. It took on the alias Eris, for ease.
-- Around this time, all other IPU-Chameleons had been recalled for malfunctions. None were as violent as IPU-Chameleon021, however, many injured themselves, other Chameleons, or portrayed other abnormal behavior that would be seen as psychosis in human beings. But even if the Chameleon project had been a failure, it had paved the way for advancements in making AI technology more lifelike.
-- Over time, the malfunctions in IPU-Chameleon021's coding became more pronounced. The violence and aggression could be useful as a mercenary, and while it seemed to be developing an alarming sense of self, that was also something Vante could ignore. However, IPU-Chameleon021 began to develop memory problems, paranoia, and insubordination. Vante forced a system update on IPU-Chameleon021, who had been refusing it for some time, in the hopes that it would fix the problems. It did not.
-- Still, IPU-Chameleon021 is one of their best, and they're reluctant to decommission it after all the work they have put into the android. This most recent mission IPU-Chameleon021 has been sent on is meant to be its redemption. Either that or further proof IPU-Chameleon021 can no longer be of service to Vante.

Aligned Organization(s):
EastBay Regional Tech - A big technology conglomerate specializing in android technology, founded on Earth but based on Mars. They're well-known specifically for their sexbots. EBR Tech manufactured IPU-Chameleon021, and were its former owners. Occasionally, they hire Vante, and therefore IPU-Chameleon021, to do dirty work for them. Usually, it's gathering intel on, or eliminating, competition. It was a bit tense at first, when they realized that they used to own the mercenary they were hiring, however, it has since turned into quite the amicable relationship.

Vante - A decently-sized mercenary group that toes the fine line between soldiers for hire and piracy. They were hired to side with the UNCA during the first outbreak of the civil war, and they're known majorly for their covert missions and hitmen. They also own a lot of androids, similar to IPU-Chameleon021, that they have acquired through less than legal means. They are not based on any planet, instead, roaming space in a large ship.

Known Associates: Lilliane Silvera (Current Owner; Leader of Vante), Nolan Vaughn (Previous Owner & Frequent Employer; with EBR Tech), Benjamin Ramirez (Current Employer), Liam Callahan (Crew Member), Felicia Gloria (Crew Member), Elizabeth Vanderson (Crew Member)
Known Rivals: Angelique Beaumont (Previous Handler; with Areola 51), Felicia Gloria (Ex-Target)

Equipment:
Pistols - IPU-Chameleon021 carries with it two handguns with high-grade silencers. Don't be fooled by their size, they pack quite a punch, although they are not ideal for long-range. Thanks to the silencers, the only sound you'll hear is the bullet hitting its target.

Obsidi-Steel Knife Set - IPU-Chameleon021 has a set of six knives ranging in size from one inch to six. The metal they're made of is named obsidi-steel for its dark color, and it's razor-sharp edge, not because it is in part made of obsidian. The smaller ones are perfectly weighted for throwing. The handles contain trackers, that IPU-Chameleon021 is capable of keeping an eye on directly through its own code.

Patch Kit - While IPU-Chameleon021 is incapable of patching up major damage, it does know how to give itself minor patch-up jobs. The kit includes some pliers, screwdrivers, and a mini-synthesizer, to seal the skin should it be broken or to fuse wires.

CF Ear Piece - IPU-Chameleon021 owns an earpiece specifically designed for chassis frames, for ease of communicating with others. It's not easy to remove and cannot be used by human beings, as it works similarly to a blue-tooth connection. It looks like an earring to those that don't know what they're looking for.

Costume Set - While it sounds slightly ridiculous, IPU-Chameleon021 does have with it a variety of costumes. These aren't the frilly costumes you'd find at a play, however. They are uniforms of just about any profession you'd come across - guard, doctor, janitor, soldier. Some of these uniforms possess logos that Vante operatives require frequently (UNCA, MCC, etc), but otherwise, most uniforms are generic and logos can be removed and reattached (physically and/or digitally depending on the type of uniform in question). Vante operatives such as IPU-Chameleon021 will take with them a set of costumes they are most likely to need, though it is assumed that this set does not come with them everywhere they go.

Legal Name: Gloria, Felicia, Rose
Alias/Pseudonym: "Drone"
Sex: Female
Type: Cyber Enhanced
--
Physical Description:
Felicia is tall (5'8"), with red eye implants and black hair, which she wears fairly short. She is fair-skinned, without much of a tan – a possible result of the amount of time she spends indoors for her work. She has a pair of nerve jack ports in the back of her neck, each of which is kept capped with a plastic cap when not in use. She prefers to wear casual clothing (A T-shirt and khakis), with a mid-grade Kevlar jacket over top when she goes outside. She is in her mid-twenties.

Psychological Profile:
Felicia Gloria is difficult to analyze due to lack of recent appearances. While she appears to be softly-spoken at first glance, as soon as she is convinced she knows what she is talking about, she becomes outspoken and confident. Direct observation of manipulative tendencies have yet to surface, but patterns of behavior suggest as such. She has an obsession with safety, to the point that she prefers to have backup plans to her backup plans.

Perhaps luckily, she has little experience or talent at reading other people, and very little interest in learning to do so. Given a choice, she prefers to spend time alone, working on whatever smaller project she has time to do. She has a borderline-compulsive need to take anything she gets her hands on apart in order to analyze its inner workings, although she draws the line at human-appearing robotics, such as Chassis. This tendency has given her a mild understanding of the inner workings of many types of items, although she is not qualified to do mechanical work on anything more complex than a vehicle, and even then, only barely.

She has a talent for working with digital information, which she often puts to work for the highest bidder - often mercenary groups, although she also provided services to the occasional independent system. Following the disaster aboard the MCV Star of Vengeance (For more information on the disaster, see prior history), she put these skills to use hiding her tracks from the various bounty hunters tracking her down.

Medical Evaluation:
Felicia Gloria is fit, although not muscular. She has the beginnings of Arthritis beginning in her fingers from extended periods working at a keyboard. She has a small scar on the corner of her right eye. The scar is less than an eighth-inch long, and is mostly faded. She also has a number of scars along the back of her hand, and the exterior of the final joint of her left-pinky finger is mostly scar tissue surrounding nail.

Psychological Evaluation:
Felicia Gloria is mentally unstable following the disaster aboard the MCV Star of Vengeance. Prior to the incident, she had a budding god complex related to her computer and mechanical abilities. Since the incident, however, she has suffered an extreme loss of confidence, resulting in a sense of paranoia.

3301 Neo - An informal group of security and hacking experts across the System. The group functions as a sort of forum for members to anonymously post their exploits and find employers for whom to ply their trade. Employers are heavily-screened before being invited, with many falling at the doorstep or being deemed too untrustworthy to be allowed even partial access to the forum. Members are provided full access to the site, as well as profiles for any potential employers to view before accepting missions, although they have no obligation to do so. The group's name is a reference to the Cicada 3301 security puzzles prior to expansion off-planet.

Known Associates: Alexander Lawford, "Wasp607" (Real name unknown), Various mercenary employers.
Known Rivals: Various Bounty Hunters,
Equipment:
Spectra bullet-resistant jacket:
A low-grade bulletproof jacket. The jacket itself has been dyed to be a more agreeable color, but is unlikely to actually stop a bullet dead unless it was fired from a long distance. It will, however, absorb a significant portion of the bullet's momentum, and may cause the bullet to go off-course depending on how it deforms on impact.

Communications earpiece:
A special communications earpiece capable of syncing itself and streaming input to a console. The earpiece is password-protected to prevent intrusion, and is set to ignore requests from unknown devices by default.

Microcomputer:
A powerful (although not top of the line) microcomputer mounted on her left wrist. The microcomputer has an input port for a neural jack cable, as well as an output jack for an additional neural jack cable and a USB (Or equivalent) cable. The microcomputer is designed to be used to load either a precompiled program or to be used to interpret neural jack instructions. The input jack is designed to prevent a current or voltage overload at a hardware level.

Drone:
A single flying drone to be used for recon operations. The drone currently lacks any means to fight for itself, but contains a camera to be used to broadcast visual data back to either her microcomputer or to home base.

Combat Knife:
A simple 4" combat knife made of steel. She keeps it sheathed on her belt.

Various cables in pockets:
A number of cables for use in connecting to systems. Notable cables include 3 neural jack interface cables and 1 USB (Or equivalent) omni cable.

Occular Implants:
Felicia's eyes have been replaced by a pair of occular implants. The implants are designed to see better in low-light conditions, and have an option to allow access via Neural Jack to allow for processing and visual data I/O

Sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun:
A 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun with a sawed-off barrel. Felicia typically carries 2-3 slugs for the shotgun in her jacket, as well as 15-20 rounds of shot.

Prior History:
Felicia Gloria was born into a mid-income family on Earth. Growing up, she displayed classical introverted behavior, often preferring to play alone rather than with other children her age in classes. Despite this, she did routinely well in mathematics and science-based courses, but did poorly at literature-based classes. During middle school, she was caught editing her grades, but due to lack of evidence, the school was forced to drop the issue, after reverting them back to their original values.

During high school, she began to make a name for herself online as a skilled white-hat hacker, often taking and defeating challenges to get access to protected systems online. As time went on, she continued improving, and on graduating high school, she entered college for Mechanical Engineering. She was mediocre at the discipline, but was eventually able to graduate with her degree. Sometime during this period, she was approached by 3301 Neo, which she joined. Over the next year and a half, she is thought to be responsible for multiple high-visibility hacking jobs that allowed mercenary groups to gain access to location they should've been incapable of gaining access to.
[Access Granted.]
This came to an end, however, during the incident onboard the MCV Star of Vengeance. During the intrusion job on the ship by a military group, she is known to have designed a pair of programs. One that allowed them to fool the IFF system onboard the Star of Vengeance into allowing them close, and a second responsible for disabling the ship for them the military party to get onboard and finish their jobs. However, something went wrong with the virus after extraction, resulting in the crippling of the entire class of starships. Later investigation found that a typo in the program caused the virus to reactivate itself once every [REDACTED]. Because the ship's systems were formed in a network, the virus was designed to propagate itself through any available network, resulting in the widespread infection of all but a select few ships of the class that happened to be in transit during the incident.

Following the incident and investigation, a still-unknown member of 3301 Neo going under the username "Wasp607" warned her about coming MCC reprisal, and she vanished. Since, she has been known to occasionally access her 3301 Neo account, but efforts to trace her location frequently are met with nothing. Psychological data since has been formatted on secondhand reports from independent bounty hunters, and reports indicate that she is searching for a method to protect herself from the MCC's reprisal. Due to the difficulty of locating her, MCC authorities have temporarily settled on setting a bounty on her head.

Legal Name: Ramirez, Benjamin
Alias/Pseudonym:"Jack"
Sex: Male
Type: Baseline Human
--
Physical Description:
Ramirez is 6'3" and built like a tree. His sturdy figure and thick arms are more than just for show, and he held his own in his fair share of bar brawls and tussles back in the day. Spending his youth carrying an M260 light machine gun around, plus his gear, AND the ammunition gave him a physique that his later line of work never quite let him get rid of. Rather, it's the line of work gets you keep some weights in your quarters.

Despite his physique, age has started to rake its claws over him, and it shows in the lines on his face. His hair may be brown, but streaks of grey have started to appear above a pair of equally grey eyes. His beard is as brown and grey streaked as his hair, and while he keeps it trimmed, he's kept it long and full for years. He hasn't been clean shaven since he was a marine.

Speaking of marines, Ramirez has two tattoos. On his shoulder is a crest featuring two arrows crossed behind a bear. The emblem for the 405th UN Colonial Marine Division. The second tattoo is a date on his right wrist. The date lands roughly around four years after Ramirez started working as a mercenary.

Psychological Profile:
Ramirez does not use his first name, and barely ever uses his last. He almost exclusively goes by the moniker 'Jack'. Whatever the reason, he keeps it close to his chest. His name isn't the only thing he keeps vague or under wraps, however. There are a lot of things about him that he either keeps to himself or changes its associated story every time someone asks. For example, when asked about the inspiration for his ship's name, the Rosa Victoria, his answers have ranged from "first love" to "mom's name" and occasionally "prostitute I knew when I was in the marines."

Jack is the kind of man who's learned a lot of lessons by making a lot of mistakes. He's been around the business for a while, and he's survived it long enough to know more than any three mercs half his age combined. Not just things you use in a combat situation. It's things you need during a business meeting, who you talk to, who you don't talk to, who you can't trust, who you CAN trust, and when you stop trusting them. Anyone can shoot a gun, but you need experience to make a deal, call a truce, or pick a side.

This has made Jack more of a mediator than a fighter. That isn't to say he can't fight; he earned his keep with a gun and his grit when he was young just like everyone else. He's just come far enough to develop a strength beyond that. This means he's the kind of break up fights onboard, and he does so with an authority that's hard to ignore.

Speaking of authority, Jack is distrustful of actual authority, from a sense of principal. He finds kinship with grunts and foot soldiers of any creed more than he will with politicians, commanders, and enforcers of all creeds, even his own. He feels more comfortable in a trench than he does in a boardroom.

Being tough and "hard" are requirements in this line of work. Jack wouldn't be here if he wasn't, but maybe it's age, or maybe it's the kind of tired you get when get when there's nothing new in a job as dangerous as this; but a lot of things have started to bother him these past few years. Maybe he's going soft, maybe he's just tired. He won't show it, but it's there.

Maybe he's burnt out by the mercenary life, but is all too aware that people like him don't know how to do anything else.

Medical Evaluation:
Scars: Gunshot wound, left bicep. Puncture wound, between right thumb and forefinger. Laceration, upper left back. Knife puncture, left shoulder. Gunshot wound, right thigh. Gunshot wound, abdomen. Gunshot wound, left bicep (again). Knife puncture, upper back near center. Laceration, right thigh. Series of punctures (animal bite), left shin.

And a crooked nose, broken twice.

Psychological Evaluation:
Technically, Jack has PTSD. Or at least, he was diagnosed with it after he got back from the military. He had trouble holding a job down when he got out, and the psych evals to check up on returning marines determined he had PTSD. Whether or not he DOES have it is questionable. He's never admitted to nightmares or flashbacks, and has never had any visibly issue. Either he's very good at hiding it, or is misdiagnosed.

He also drinks a lot, but all mercs drink a lot. That's calling water wet.

The Rosa Victoria. She's a K17-MkII Multi Purpose Heavy Craft. You live here when we're not docked at Liberty Station. No loud music after lights out, clean up after yourself, don't touch the fuzzy dice, and if you fuck with the thermostat, you're sleeping in the cargo hold. 74 degrees Fahrenheit is FINE, don't fuck with it.

The K17-MkII's are last gen. So she's old and kind of a cow, and handles like one, but she's a tough hag. They built these ships to function mostly independently and carry cargo, troops, or ordinance long distances. They can be converted into bombers, but that means no cargo hold. It has its own FTL drive, so it can make the trip from Luna to Mars with no carrier and no problem. And the armor on 'em is no joke. It takes a lot to bring them down.

They can crew about six plus a commander for long term missions, with two sets of quarters (3 and 3) and a captain's bunk. It's got a communications center nestled just behind the cockpit... that has been ripped out and replaced with a terminal suite for cyber-warfare. It's sort of a closet in there, so don't knock anything over, all that hacking stuff looks expensive.

Beyond that, you've got your living area (get your feet off the table), with a small kitchenette, bathroom (don't hog the hot water or it's the airlock for you), and finally the cargo hold. There's an armory in the cargo hold too. Got a couple of rifles in there, and rocket launcher. One of the old MCC ones.

Armament is four forward guns, remote controlled turrets on top and behind the ship, and two slots for missiles (currently empty).
  • splash-damage-ben-garnell-whetsman.jpg

It's ugly, it's loud, and it kicks like a mule. Weiss & Taube Weapons was an old arms manufacturer that went back all the way to the days of Mars' early colonization. The WT .44 was one of their more popular models. It was rugged, simple, and reliable. It fires in .44 magnum, and the kick doesn't let you forget it. It was the kind of gun independent sheriffs used to dish out colonial law.

Jack got his during a very brief stint with a Martian militia that went sideways. So much for settling somewhere, but the gun has remained at Jack's side ever since. He never leaves the ship without it.
  • kai-sun-1-50.jpg

The NsDk-67 is a tube fed, pump action shotgun. It's a fairly modern shotgun with old school flair that's most often seen in the hands of MCC Special Forces. That's why it's made of something more expensive than synthetic wood fiber and kind of looks like a box. It's a solid, reliable gun, and you can slam fire it if you need impromptu rapid fire. Just be careful with the recoil if you do that, it'll start kicking around.

It tends to be Jack's go-to weapon, since he tries not to be the one out on the field. If he's gonna use it, it means someone unwelcome's come onboard, and that's no bueno.

  • mching.png

This isn't the exact gun Jack used in the colonial marines; but it's the exact model. The 64C's were, in a technology sense, actually a downgrade from the then standard issue UNCM LMG's at the time, the 60E's. The issue was that the flechette system on the 60E's didn't exactly agree with the rough, sandy, dirty Martian terrain. Same went for most of the flechette weapons of that day and age. Sand, dirt, or mud carried by wind or kicked up by boots made it very easy for flechette weapons that worked perfectly onboard climate controlled ships to misfire.

So the next wave of standard issue went back to good 'ol ballistics. The 64C arrived in that first wave. It's a heavy old bitch, and it devours ammo. But you can rest assured that when you pull that trigger, the only things that'll stop it are if you let go, you run dry, or the barrel melts.

Most of the time, Jack leaves the 64C in the cargo hold, under tight lock and key. He doesn't really bring it out for all that much. If it DOES come out, it means shit's hit the fan. That's also no bueno.

Prior History:
Believe it or not, not all of the UNCA is made up of shopping centers and high rises. Tucked away in the country, you can still find small communities that, while functional, aren't exactly economically blessed. When a government looks to the stars, it's going to be even less inclined to think about its trailer parks.

Jack came from one of these. Grew up working class and didn't really think much about his future until he tripped into it. When he came of age, he, like all the other young men in his town, had three choices. Leave for a big city university, get a labor job, or join the military. Jack wasn't the studying type, and his old man had come home too pissed, too drunk, and too tired far too many times for him to consider a life of labor and end up like that. So he joined the marines.

As his luck would have it, he joined just as tensions started to flare up between the UNCA and the MCC for the umpteenth time. War was declared while he was in boot camp. And after a year stationed at an FOB near Luna, he was redeployed to hold down some colony on Mars.

DH-331 was bumfuck nowhere, even in the middle of bumfuck nowhere. The sandstorms made sure nothing stayed clean for long and the terraforming rigs made it so that it was always either hot as hell or raining AND hot as hell. The locals called it Marshal's Plain, but a grassy plain it was not. Either way, the residents didn't want them there, and the insurgents especially didn't want them there.

See, the front-line fighting was between two big fuck-off forces. UNCA army and MCC troops. But policing the outer colonies meant there was less actual MCC, and more locals with KzVtk 50's. That meant lots of patrolling around, looking for IED's and searching houses. That second part really pissed off the locals. And it turned even more of them into MI's. Martian Insurgents. Mikey's. If Mikey got you, it wasn't in the glory of battle. It was with a booby trap, or a shooter in a window, or a spider hole. What few strongholds they did have were usually hidden; and finding them and destroying them were usually the most conventional 'battles' you ended up having. It was slow, it was tense, and always, always, humid as hell.

It sucked. It almost killed him. But never quite finished the job.

Jack survived Mars and came back home. Technically, the 405th had held down Marshal's Plain, but the UNCA had lost the war overall. Not that it mattered to the average citizen, it had been a war for expansion anyway. Nothing much back home had changed. And that was kind of the problem. He got his pay, went home, got himself a little place, and then proceeded to completely fail to integrate into society. He got two jobs, lost them both. Tried to start a hardware business; but what the hell did he know about 2x4's? He was 22 and only good at carrying a 64C around, suppressing fire, and watching for MI's. He'd been taken from the colony, but the colony hadn't been taken out of him.

It wasn't long before he joined up with a merc crew.

Being a merc isn't exactly the cleanest line of work, but it fit him. He was good at it. Even better, merc work had more variety to it than being a marine. You learn other skills in that line of work. How to navigate the criminal underground, how to make money there, how not to get stabbed in the back. He was smart for a merc. Not book smart, like the tech guys. Common sense smart. He could read people, he knew how to be smart with business.

Fast forward 25 years and Jack's been all around the system. He's formed alliances, broken them, formed them again, broken them again. He's jumped between a variety of crews and orgs. Piracy with Wallace's Warthogs till mutiny split the crew. Even rode around with MacShay's boys, until the UNCA got angry enough to send a kill team after Avery MacShay himself. Poor MacShay. He was famous among mercenaries, but everyone's gotta go sometime.

Now Jack's got his own ship and his own crew. He won that ship in a card game, lost it, stole it back, lost it again, won it back. His crew's a small one, but it's capable. He's mellowed out now too. Wiser. Smarter. He's one of the few mercs that makes it to the point where there's grey in his beard.

The Rosa Delivery Company has been Jack's company for a few years now. It's very simple. Somebody needs something to be somewhere. We make it happen. Sometimes it gets dicey and we have to fight. Sometimes the thing that needs to be someplace else needs to be taken from someone first. The devil's in the details, but the Rosa Delivery Company's been around long enough and done its job long enough to be trusted with plenty of work from plenty of customers. Some nastier than others.

Jack though, he's getting old, that's for sure. He's not an old man yet, but he's just not 25 anymore. He won't admit it, but there's a lot of stuff that used to be easier. But he doesn't how to do anything else. So he's staying here.

Legal Name: Vanderson, Elizabeth Fontaine
Alias/Pseudonym: "Bloodhound"
Sex: Female
Type: Cyber-Enhanced
Physical Description:
Standing at around 5'3", Elizabeth initially seems somewhat small and delicate. However, she possesses a lithe, toned frame and an unusually high muscle density; whilst still maintaining a rather innocuous, thin outer appearance. Various colorful tattoos adorn her arms, torso, and legs, the most prevalent depicting Eastern-style dragons, laughing skulls, and scattered roses. Despite her chosen profession, she has only a few scars on her body, most on her back. They do not appear to be recent.

Her face could be described as cherub-like, or pretty, in another time or place. Now, she looks like a natural-born killer; with narrowed, sharp, brown eyes and the grin of a predator catching scent of it's prey. Framing it all is her long, generally unkempt, brown hair; which occasionally looks auburn in the right light.

Psychological Profile:
Sharp, aggressive, and crass; Elizabeth is completely up-front and direct with all facets of life: she shoots it. Over time, as she grew accustomed to and even grew to enjoy violence, she also began to internalize it as a fool-proof method to solving any issue. Overall, it would seem that she views emotions or relationships as harmful; and therefore tends to be rather violent, whether it be verbally or physically, towards those she cares about. Interestingly enough, it's during these interactions with her close companions that she shows the most emotion; when killing, she rarely shows any emotion or expression. Despite her repeated denial that she cares about her crewmates, Vanderson has shown repeated instances in the past where she has disregarded her own safety in order to secure or assist a crewmember; events that she will both vehemently deny, and make statements contrary to (such as repeatedly threatening to cripple or kill a crewmember).

Ironically enough, Vanderson is likely the most immature of the group. She tends to avoid responsibility for her actions, gets unreasonably angry when confronted, and often tends not to care about the feelings or wants of other coworkers over herself. Over time, under the tutelage of an ever-patient Jack, Elizabeth has somewhat improved; but she continues to be a wild, uncontrollable maverick in most instances.

Medical Evaluation:
Lacerations, back, moderate scarring.
Puncture wound, arm(s)-torso, moderate-light scarring.
Gunshot wound, torso-arm(s)-leg(s), heavy-moderate scarring.
Evidence of physical trauma, hand(s)-back, scarring on bone tissue.

Psychological Evaluation:
Frankly speaking, it's clear that Elizabeth has some sort of traumatic disorder. However, the exact circumstances or extent of the trauma is known only by Elizabeth; and thus, only general guesses can be made as to the exact disorder she has.

Equipment:
As a part of her basic kit, Vanderson always wears a variation of cut-down jeans, a midriff-cut tank top, a loose combat belt, fingerless gloves, and a pair of old MCC military boots. She rarely, if ever, wears mobility-constructing armor or specialized equipment; only donning protective equipment if it is absolutely necessary.

As a cyborg by choice, Vanderson had illegally-modified civilian visual sensors implanted, loaded with hacked-together targeting software; as well as two civilian security-grade prosthetic arms, mobility augs, and some minor bone-reinforcement. Linking her eyes to her arms wirelessly, she can essentially automatically fire at two different targets in separate directions with "reasonable" accuracy; whilst maintaining an impressive degree of mobility.

Within a well-oiled and worn dual armpit holster, she carries two custom-fitted Ward-Takeshi MPL-40
handguns. These custom-models, affectionately known by Vanderson as "Sabres", feature extended slides and magazines, muzzle-fitted compensators, illegally-added burst-fire components, and much to the rest of the crew's amusement, pearl-handled grips and platinum plating. The resulting pistols are distinctive, three-round burst handguns that fire .40 Magnum/High Velocity Rounds at extremely high rates of fire.

Shoved in her boot is typically a titanium boot-knife and it's sheathe. Around her hip, she wears a stolen Olympus City Police-issue battle belt during combat, with pistol magazine pouches, grenade loops, and a slot for a small IFAK medkit.
