Rosewood University
  • Rosewood University is a lavish school posing as a private entity for the esteem. It is said to be a school where only the best of the best are accepted but this not always the case. In truth, Rosewood University is for those with genetics that defy the human normities but by no means is this a bad thing. The environment encourages self-confidence and promotes growth while providing a safe and private setting for students to freely practice and refine their individual abilities.

1I want to keep things simple. Sorry ._.
  • Iwaku rules apply.

No one liners. Actually I would prefer at least a four-five sentence paragraph post but I'm not going to be strict about it.

No godmodding or powerplaying. This should go without saying, but please don't be that person who ruins the fun - and the whole point of playing this plot - by applying out of character information to in-character posts. Meaning try to differentiate what you know and what your character actually knows and please don't pull a "something's off about ---" when nothing has happened to tip your character off.

We need teachers as well as students.

Fight scenes will be executed in rounds, which means you will attack and defend while also allowing the other person to react.

Make sure it is okay with both me and the player in question before killing off a character.

Avoid making any Mary Sue/Gary Stues. Keep your characters well rounded and share the spotlight. Everyone will have a chance in it.

For every four regular students there can be a new student I guess.

As far as romance go, I would prefer not starting off dating but I'll make an exception if you make it interesting.

Fade to Black! Any R-rated material should be kept in the libertine/teen sections of the site.

    Please remove brackets from skeletons.
  • Witches are mortals capable of manipulating the natural forces around them to achieve acts nothing short of miraculous. They believe in the "Source", a divine energy from whom all extends from. They believe all gods are the extension of the "Source" and thus believe in all gods. They have a close relationship with nature and have no tolerance for those who disrespect it. The pentagram is their symbol with each point representing an element: fire, water, earth, air, and spirit as the pentacle. A group of witches is called a coven.

    Main Weakness:
    Iron

    Class:
Witch: The basic and most common class. Witches can only use Spirit magic, the most versatile magic form that ranges from illusions to transfiguration (literally anything that isn't elemental in nature).

Mage: An uncommon class of witch that is capable of controlling the element their born under. They are also capable of learning Spirit, though it takes a lot of training on their part to do so.

Warlock: A rare class of witch than can control two to four elements, not including Spirit. Unfortunately, warlocks are born with a chaotic alignment whether good, evil, or neutral, and without proper training warlocks are a danger to themselves and those around them. Without control, their magic can easily take over and consume them.

Forbidden: The most rarest class of witch. They can control two elements, no more than two elements, and combine them to make new elements entirely. While difficult, they can also learn Spirit and heighten their magic beyond mortal possibility.
    Fire/Water: Lava + Spirit: Blood
    Air/Earth: Nature + Spirit: Bone
    Water/Earth: Mud + Spirit: Gravity
    Air/Fire: Lightning + Spirit: Flight
    Air/Water: Cloud + Spirit: Death
    Fire/Earth: Glass + Spirit: Life

    Magic and Magic Items:
Witches often carry around spell books in the form of notebooks and journals filled with spells they've learned. No two spell books are the same as some spells are passed down from generation to generation while others are created. Learning spells from other witches is also an option. Those who study magic circles carry a separate book for them.

Magic items are often items to help focus a witch's magic and some even strengthen the spells being cast. Some items are enchanted to enhance an ability (existing or otherwise) or provide positive attributes. Other items are cursed, damned to worsen an ability or hamper training, or provide negative attributes.

    Enchanting:
Witches can enchant items as long as they have they the supplies and the skills to do so; however, enchantments are touchy and the lower your skill, the more likely you are to actually curse the item unknowingly. On the other hand, the more skill you have, the more potent the enchantment.

    Cursing:
Curses are forbidden to study on school property but work much like the direct opposite of enchantments. Curses don't take much skill but the higher the skill, the more potent the curse.

    Potions:
Potions work much like enchantments but if the potion is too strong, non-magical entities have the chance of being stricken with magic poisoning.
Potion Strengths from Weakest to Strongest: minor, major, pontent, sepreme.

    Magic Poisoning:
Magic occurs more often than not in non-magical entities exposed to too much magic or potions with a high concentration of magic, but can happen to witches who over exert themselves. Symptoms include skin darkening around infected area, raised body temperature, cold sweats, and exhaustion/drowsiness. If symptoms persist the body will fall to shock and any failure to control symptoms can result in (a highly preventable) death.

  • Immortals with the power to shape-shift into a larger-than-normal wolves. They are highly sociable creatures and often form packs, with whom they do not care as long as the company is favorable, a temporarily replacement for the pack they had left behind. A lone wolf is a miserable wolf. Werewolves can keep an animal companion as well. They worship their goddess Luna and keep alters in her name in their dorm rooms. Additionally, weres continue to practice their complex social structure and packs are lead by a power couple, though young weres are not very faithful and change partners quite often.

    Main Weaknesses:
    Silver

    Social Structure:
Alphas: These weres are either next in line to be alpha or usually prove themselves dominate in sports and combat.

Betas: Weres chosen by the alphas to be their second in command and advisers. Betas also double as head hunter.

Gammas: Elders who have retired from their profession in the pack, but not necessarily from society. They share their wisdom with the alpha and help train the newer generation.

Deltas: These weres are the laborers of their packs. Most delta are left with the dirty work when duty calls. Not the best or strongest, they make up the citizen population.

Omegas: Weres unable to mate. These are the hunters, gatherers, peacekeepers and protectors of the packs. They're well known for being distant and aloof, only finding company with their chosen animal companion or other omegas.

    Immortality:
Young werewolves stop aging once they reach maturity: 18 for females and 21 for males. No definite life span.

    Supernatural Abilities:
Superstrength. Valuing strength and power over all else, their crass nature doesn't leave them with a great reputation among vampires and witches alike. Not necessarily dumb.

Heightened sense of smell and hearing.

Can sense when a storm is coming and the general mood of a room/person.

Faster than humans but slower than vampires.

Colored Blind. they can only see certain colors but mostly live in a black and white world.

    Rituals:
Mainly celebrations most non-weres assume are excuses to pig out.
One of their famous rituals is the Moonlight Howl, celebrated by a bonfire and lots and lots of food. They often throw one on the night of the full moon every month and tend to invite the whole campus.

Weres tend to share their meals with pack members. If a were eats off your plate, it means they view you as part of the pack.

    Hunts:
Hunts are conducted in the forest with the permission of the head master. Hunting without permission results in immediate strip of privileges (meaning you'll be stuck with eating basic meals, no chance for missions, banned from using public utilities such as the gym/barracks/et cetera, and whatever else the Headmaster can think of for three months) and a month of detention/community service.

  • Vampires are, for the lack of better word, snobs of the three races. They treasure order above all else and prefer things to be in a specific way. They think highly of themselves and believe they deserve nothing but the best; however, some of those who attend the academy are a bit more relaxed in their ways and learned how to get along with their fellow classmates without completely sacraficing tradition. Vampire culture is viewed as old fashion, with men placed as warriors and protectors of their female counter parts while women demand chivlry and power from their men. But since feminism had been introduced, this tradition is challenged by the occasional vampiress not satified with being treated like fragile glass.

    Main Weakness
    Garlic

    Ghouls:
Vampires keep companions known as ghouls mostly to keep up on their thirst for blood but are used to fullfil tedious tasks vampires can't be bothered with. They can be anything from an animal to even another student, as long the student is willing. It's uncommon but not unheard of for another vampire to be ones ghoul.

    IImmortality:
Young vampires stop aging once they reach maturity: 20 for females, 22 for males. No definite life span.

    Supernatural Abilities:
Vampires value cunning and are much faster and more agile than the three races.

While stronger and more durable than the mortal races, they're weak in comparison to werewolves.

They have a keen sense of smell when it comes to blood and can see just as well, if not better, in the dark.

They have extraordinary vison and see far better than the other races, and have a high sense of their surroundings, making it near impossible to sneak up on a vampire.

They have sharp canines and nails that retract.

    Hazing:
If a vampire goes too long without blood, they begin to Haze. Their eyes change color and their otherwise retractable teeth and nails extend. They start to loose all sense of surroundings but still have control over their basic insticts. At this stage they begin loosing their hearing, their vision becomes fuzzy, as their sense of smell sharpen.

If symptoms persist without substance, they completely "Haze out", losing complete control of themselves. At this point their strength and speed is doubled and no rationality exist. Their completely blind and deaf, driven solely by their sense of smell. If they do obtain substance, they completely drain the victim of blood. Before they can come around, they pass out, never to recall the events of their Haze.

  • These undercover agents are orphaned supernatural or 1 dis-owned half breeds often brainwashed by humans to hate themselves/what they are, and even believe their parents were killed by the very creatures they hunt. "Sin" is the ultimate act of transgression and to sin means immedtate perification (often having to wash their face/hands/any part of their body in water tainted with their weakness and inducing a burn akin to a sun burn). They religiously believe they are doing right by the human world in ridding the known world of their existence. Dead set on their crusade, little can convince them they are in the wrong.

    Sins:
A vague term that can pretty much mean anything.
Those under cover lack any will to improve and get by on mediocre grades, and to desire improvement is sin.

Having genuine feelings for another supernatural is sin, though it's unclear whether or not this excludes another hunter.

Anything that evokes a sense of "wrong" is sin.

    Perks:
Because of their "purification" rituals, they have a higher resistance to their weaknesses.

They were raised to fight and can thus best their non-hunter counterparts at combat, though this isn't always apparent.

Cool tools and weapons, more often than not enchanted, to aid them in their missions.

Start with an additional 1rin to their starting wealth.

    Drawbacks:
Because of their lack of desire to improve, they are often weaker than their non-hunter counterparts at what their race normally excels in.

    Missions:
I will pm you personal missions often involving acts against the school or a fellow peer. These missions pay a lot more than regular missions but do well to keep your riches hidden.

Name:
Uyehara, Hideaki
Age:
Twenty-Six, or so he claims.
Profession:
Headmaster
Personality:
He's quite arrogant and self absorbed, and by no means humble. A man most people would describe as uptight stressed easily; he prefers asshole-intolerant. His favorite pastimes include swearing, injecting "seriously" into every other sentence, smoking when he thinks no one is looking, and cursing the students who could do way better but deliberately choosing not to. As loud as he is, he treasures peace and quite, something not found in abundance in a school teeming with loud, boisterous college students, and can often found trying to unwind in his office by the way of tea. As a man of Japanese decent, he practices Tetraphobia, a "advoidance" of numbers that have similar pronunciations as "death" and "suffer". As a result, any number involving four and nine are excluded from numerical order around the campus
Alignment:
Nuetral
Appearance:
He looks to be in his mid twenties with brilliant blonde hair "woven from gold" as he likes to put it, with eyes that "might as well have been taken straight from an Emerald mine". His mixed heritage allows him the luxary of being taller than most Japanese man. Comparing his skin to any shade of yellow guarantees certain death. Hideaki can always be found wearing a suit, fancying himself "drop dead sexy" dresses up-- don't get him started on the finess of his rear end, though he forgoes the jacket and sticks to the vest/button-up shirt combo.

Name:
Adora Salvatrix
Age:
She claims to be 156, but with vampires its hard to tell.
Profession
Self Defense
Dorm Number:
113 | Teachers' Dormitory
Personality:
She remains an independent woman with a good, sometimes dark sense of humor, athletic, and well versed in the ways of science especially chemistry and biology. Easy to get along with for the most part but naïve when it comes to certain subjects and emotional at times under stress and pressure. Adora, one way or another, developed an aversion to being touched. Studious, it's not uncommon for her to hold herself in a study or a library with her nose in a book or hunched over an artifact; she likes exploring ruins at her leisure but mostly prefers collecting old and ancient items of the past no matter how magical, dark, or dangerous. Her love for chocolate milk knows no bounds.
Alignment:
Chaotic Neutral
Appearance:
Adora stands 5'8 with a slim yet strong build, a sun kissed complexion, light brown hair and light brown eyes occasionally with a ring of red encircling the pupil - central heterochromia eyes. On her right shoulder is a Celtic knot tattoo and thirteen tiny loop earrings piercing each ear. She's frequently seen wearing a tank top of some design, a pair of skinny jeans, laced up converse, and a duck billed hat worn backwards, but has been known to wear a deep purple Victorian dress or leather armor depending on the occasion. She tends to carry either a short sword or twin swords belted at her lower back.
History:
Adora was a student at the university herself way back when, but had disappeared for nearly three decades. Now a teacher at her old school, she tells tales of her worldly travels and there doesn't seem to be a place she doesn't know or is not familiar with - or maybe she just enjoys saying "I've been there!".
Relationships:
To be revealed.
Strengths:
Hand-to-Hand Combat
Armed Combat
Short-Mid Range Combat
Dungeon Crawling
Endurance - High even for a vampire.
Flexibility
Weaknesses:
Long Range Combat
Heavily Armored Opponents
Heavy Armor Generally
Heavy Weapons
Ghosts
Brute Force
Ghoul:
Unknown
Other:
She's suppose to be teaching basic self defence but somehow gets away with exposing students a whole array of combat techniques and weapon skills. It may have something to do with her constantly flipping the six in her classroom number and turning it into a nine.

Age:
Twenty-One
Grade:
Junior
Dorm Number:

Personality:
Terance is a stoic were who had the whole "Alpha" thing forced on him when he proved his capabilities in sports. He isn't the most talkative guy around when it comes to strangers, but at least he‘ll respond to them if they initiate conversation. On the other hand, he‘s warm to his pack members and will make the occasional playful jibe. Even to those he doesn't necessarily like he‘s civil and hospitable. In line to be a beta back home, he‘s not very ambitious but does well in his role if he says so himself, but will give his position up if he thinks another were is better suited for the job.
Alignment:
Lawful Good
Appearance:
Terance stands 6‘1" with a strong, broad build packed with muscle, though not overly so. His skin takes on a hue similar to burnt nectar from hours in the sun and his eyes are a pleasant shade of green, contrasted by sun-bleached hair. He keeps in attire simple and colors neutral.
