A bit about me~

1. This is sort of a light-hearted hobby for me, but I do enjoy knowing that my partner is putting some effort into their writing. I want to feel what your character is going through, see what they see, feel what they feel. I want to read flowing paragraphs that have excellent grammar, punctuation, and spelling. I'm not intolerant of mistakes and typos; what I'm more concerned with is your style and pattern of writing.
2. I'm not picky on post length, but somewhere between 2-4 paragraphs (or more, if there's a lot going on) would be peachy. Occasionally, one paragraph is sufficient, but I'd like to push for a little more than that. On the flip side of that, I'll be super honest... If my partner is pumping out 10-15 paragraphs for every response, I just might not be able to match that. If you're cool with that imbalance, we'll be fine; but I just can't crank that much out in every single post.
3. Romance is important to me. I need it. I want a partner who is equally enthused about our characters getting together. But it doesn't have to feel rushed or inauthentic! I absolutely adore tension and slow-burning feelings between two strong, flawed, deep, multi-faceted, interesting characters. I want them to yearn for each other but, for one reason or another, be prevented from sharing their feelings - until we (the writers) deem that their time has come. And even then, we don't necessarily have to make it easy for them. >D Alternatively, once our kids decide to admit their feelings for one another, they could be come an unstoppable team and always have each other's backs and just totally trust each other. Either way, I want a balance of conflict and fluff - whether that conflict comes from the relationship or outside of it, we'll decide when the time comes. Let's plot together and figure this all out! I don't want to be the only one contributing to the story!
4. I only role play male x female pairings. I am happy to play either gender, depending on the role play. I'm open to doubling, but only if my partner feels comfortable putting equal effort into both of theirs - not just giving me a half-assed male while I pour my heart and soul into both of my leads. :C So yeah, doubling is cool if you’re going to be committed, BUT I would also be 100% cool bringing in, for example, a side female character to have a badass girl power platonic relationship with your female (if your main is a female). I don't necessarily need you to double so that my other character has a love interest, so it's all good!
5. Character sheets! I'm flexible. We can include as much or as little detail as you want. I don't require character sheets at all, but I do like to use pictures. I prefer realistic face claims (i.e. pictures of real people); no anime or drawings. If that's an issue, we don't have to use pictures at all. c: Please let me know how you feel about them when you contact me, just to get that detail out of the way.
6. My primary limit is that I always fade to black. I have no limits on violence or language, as long as it's within reason. I'm not interested in huge age gaps, adultery, master/slave dynamics, incest, or rape. In fact, I'm not overly interested in overly dark themes in general. If I feel aspects of a role play shifting down paths I'd rather not explore, I will quickly become uncomfortable and potentially lose interest. Please respect my boundaries and communicate with me if you want to try something but you're unsure if I'll be down with it. And please let me know if there are any themes you'd rather steer clear of.
7. I only role play over PM or email.
8. When you contact me, please give me some information about your interests so we don't have to play 20 questions before we even start plotting. :D
9. I prefer for our characters to at least be in their twenties, preferably mid-to-late. I'd be willing to go up to early thirties, but no younger than twenty.
10. Let me know how much world-building you like to do! If you're not interested in coming up with details like country/town names and all that (this is how I am while I'm in school), I'd be happy to do the bulk of that myself. I would also be thrilled for us to do all of that as a joint effort! Just let me know how much of that you want to spend time on! All that being said, I don't care to get bogged down in excessive lore. x) Let's keep it fun and balanced.
11. A word about medieval AU settings: I like to find a happy balance of being true to the times but sort of glossing over things like the plague. Regarding females of that time, I tend to enjoy pushing the boundaries that society dictates and having a main character that rebels against the norm - to a point. The "female knight" trope is not one I'm really interested in, but I do love a woman who is strong and can defend herself (in one way or another). Yes please. I'm no historian; I like to bend aspects of time periods without completely breaking them.
12. Okay, this is an add-on to my usual spiel because it's a problem I've run into a LOT lately. Do not control my characters. There may be certain NPCs and/or side characters that you and I can both play, but only if we've specifically agreed to it beforehand. Unless we've specifically talked about it, do not change aspects of my characters or make assumptions about them. Want to reference a conversation our characters had before the timeline of the rp? Cool! Let's discuss it so that you know what my character might have said in that conversation.

The reason you're here~

I'm only interested in medieval role plays right now. I won't go into a lot of details right now, but I have a number of plot ideas, based on how in-depth you want to go with the plot and how much world-building you want there to be (which, again, I'd be fine with doing most of the world-building, or we can do it together!) and how complex you want the plot to be. Just so you know, my male characters are always warrior types (soldiers, knights, guards, etc.), and my females can be just about anything. If you're interested in doubling, we can weave together different storylines between 2 romantic pairings. Whether we double or not, I always like to include a cast of side characters to keep things interesting.

Okay, so here are a few keywords to give you an idea of the themes my plots tend to contain. If you'd prefer pairings, let me know and I can list some for you! I also have some specific plot ideas that I'm craving right now, so let me know if you want to hear those!

reunited lovers | forbidden romance | a princess and her knight | espionage | rebellion | war | someone presumed dead returns | girl power | adventures | treachery | long journeys | true love

omg, plots~

While on a long journey, trouble befalls a princess and her escort, forcing them to travel through unknown terrain in disguise with only one of her guards.

This is super short and vague, I know. But I have a ton of little ideas and plot twists to throw at them! I'm really craving a swashbuckling and at times light-hearted adventure, and this has great potential to be all of that. The stakes are high as they traverse their way through unfamiliar territory, and they have some misadventures and perhaps a bit of fun along the way. And, naturally, a forbidden romance blossoms.

The nature of their relationship prior to the journey is flexible. They could be strangers, acquaintances, friends, or even former lovers.
Certain elements of this plot are borrowed from a TV show that I will not name... It's ongoing, so I don't want to spoil it for anyone! But kudos if you can guess it. c:

The kingdom has been overtaken, and a usurper is on the throne. Character A was known as one of the former king's most trusted knights. To prove his loyalty, the new king sends the knight on a secret quest: to extinguish one of the last known flames of rebellion. His mission is to uproot the rebel leader and turn them into the king - or, if they fail to comply, kill them on the spot. His target, however, turns out to be something he never expected: a child. Instead of completing the mission, he takes the child away and tries to find a safe place for her. Assassins come out of the woodworks to dispose of the little girl.

Not knowing who else to trust, Character A seeks temporary refuge at the home of Character B, who is an old friend and/or, perhaps, a former lover. [She could be a healer or perhaps a noblewoman with connections?] They embark on a journey together to deposit the child somewhere safe. Along the way, they encounter all manner of obstacles: assassins, bounty hunters, and other obstacles not necessarily related to the little girl. I also really love the idea of them reaching this remote village which is being terrorized by raiders. They've sent for aid from the king to no avail; when the knight arrives, trying to pass through, they enlist his help. So our heroes stay in the village for awhile, train the people to fight (and also to heal, if Character B is a healer), fight the raiders, and rebuild the village. That would likely be more a of a "side plot," and we could come up with other side plots and phases of their journey. And, no matter what the nature of A and B's prior relationship, we could get some feelings and tension brewing between them. <3

I'm most interested in playing Character A and probably the child. I've never attempted this plot before, so there are a lot of variables/a lot to be discussed!
The kingdom falls under attack (wow, sensing a theme here?), and the battle is lost to invaders. Character A (A knight? An officer?) does not return from the battle. His remains are not found, but he is nevertheless presumed dead. Character B, his lover (maybe they were engaged or even married), is left alone in the aftermath with Character C, A's sister. With a new tyrant on the throne, chaos ensues; soon, there are whispers of rebellion in the streets. Characters B and C seek to get involved in the rebel efforts. The tasks are small at first: delivering some messages, intercepting others. C takes a position out of town, and B remains in the city, but they maintain contact. Some months or years after the tyrant takes the throne, Character B discovers a letter that appears to be innocuous, written in code - but it is unmistakably in Character A's handwriting. She has received no other indication that he is alive. She sends word to Character C, and the two of them set out to find him. They dive deeper into the rebel efforts, hoping that each task they fulfill will lead to clues about Character A.

Here's my vision for these. Neither of these two ladies would have much training in regard to combat or espionage, if any at all. They would essentially learn what they can along the way and use their Bad Ass Brains to figure everything out. I could see them sort of going rogue and following a trail they hope will lead them to more answers. They might disguise themselves and take on new names; they take jobs in taverns where secret meetings are rumored to take place, hoping to listen in on such a meeting; they may even infiltrate an enemy outpost to find something juicy. Spoiler alert: They do manage to find Character A, but they encounter each other in surprise, dramatic fashion. C:

I have lots more ideas and little details to throw in here. If you want, we can spend some time delving into A and B's relationship before shit hits the fan. We could even throw in little flashback scenes to build that foundation along the way.

I would LOVE to play Character A and his sister, Character C. There is also room for lots of side characters! If you really have a hankering to play A and C and can wow me with your role play skills and fantastic characters, that's an option! But I have some ideas for these guys that I would absolutely love to flesh out.
Not gonna lie, this is kind of similar to the above plot...

Same as before: The kingdom is overtaken by a tyrant. Characters A and B are separated, and both of them believe the other is dead. Character A disappears after the battle; he attempts to send word to Character B and remove her from the city, but he's told that she was killed after the battle. Months/years pass, and they both end up working for the rebellion. They have a dramatic reunion and realize that the rebellion is being controlled by master puppeteers with questionable loyalties. Angst and tension ensue, and they begrudgingly agree to work together toward the same cause.

One idea: The rebellion is split into two factions. One faction sets up Character B to marry a powerful ally of the tyrant king; the other faction sends Character A to intercept a carriage filled with ~precious cargo~ either as a Robin Hood-esque attempt to take money from the enemy and thereby weaken them, or to take what they believe is vital intel of some kind. What they find in the carriage is Character B, on her way to marry this powerful nobleman. Character A accompanies her undercover as her bodyguard. Antics ensue. This, of course, isn't the only option! We can collab and come up with something different.

I would really love to play Character B for this one, but I'm just as happy to play Character A!
I hope all of these make sense... Let me know if they don't!
SIDE NOTE: I'm not interested in doing any fantasy right now, sorry!

Please PM me or post here if you're interested! When you contact me, please give me an idea of what interests you and what you're looking for. I look forward to hearing from you!

Just added another plot! I've been kind of MIA lately, so I apologize for that. Right now I'm craving some action and adventure! Super open to playing the female, but is it weird that I'm really in the mood for a kickass combat scene? Even if it's something ridiculous like a tavern brawl? x)

So when you say "medieval" do you mean like really historical, or just no-magic fantasy? Like, real world or imaginary places?

I like the medieval time period, with swords and horses and the like, but I don’t care for maintaining historical accuracy. Haha. I like an alternate universe where we can make up our own kingdom names and such!

Hmmm I'm Interested, loved the Medieval-Fantasy setting, and I also have an idea that I would like to propose to you if it's okay.

Still open~
