Cassidy was heartbroken. Both of her parents had just died in a fire at their work office. Now she was an orphan, completely alone in the world. Suddenly, the 45 minutes she had spent picking out a good outfit didn't matter. It didn't matter what she wore. Suddenly, it didn't seem to be that big a deal that they had said no to her going over to her best friend Miranda's house. Nothing seemed to matter that much
anymore. The officer that had told her the news now stood
at the front step of her porch. "I am so sorry for your loss."
Cassidy freaked out. "ARE YOU? ARE YOU REALLY? DO YOU KNOW WHAT I AM FEELING RIGHT NOW? HOW CAN YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO
TELL ME THAT YOU ARE SORRY FOR MY LOSS WHEN YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW ME?"
