It is the post disaster era two hundred and eighty years after the disastrous event known as the calamity war that ravaged man. Since then the human homeworld known as Earth has come into a sense of prosperity with multiple government groups, and operations running the Earth Sphere. Humanity has advanced towards a new era as Mars has been colonized and terraformed to fit well with human habitation. The majority of military operations has since been on the look out for radical terrorists fighting for their own ideologies while waging a political proxy war on the side various noble families vying for more strength to unite various groups under their own power. Mercenary groups have sprung up all over space causing large scale conflicts by the most powerful groups under the employ of various trade factions looking to assassinate people to gain an edge, or simply to send a message. People born, or sent to space are seen as sub-human. Human debris. Many saviors have risen up and most of them forgotten due to either forced scale downs, or them being ineffective at preaching their message. However as a side effect of many of this many have been able to obtain mobile workers, and weapons as the trade control in outer space is poor at best. Out of the rubble however there seems to be forming a large scale resistance movement against the Earth Sphere lead by a strong willed young woman named Annabeth Macgommery. Though the future of the movement seems to hinge on her many are working towards making sure humans in space are not forgotten about.

Despite this however there are mummers and rumors going around that the colonies around Earth aren't exactly happy with their situation either. Used as toys in the hands of the nobles of Earth and Gjallarhorn, the group responsible for ending the calamity war. Whispers of a group of black clad vigilantes supported by the populace and hidden are becoming all to common. Gjallarhorn themselves are even starting to take notice as crime in the colonies and in populated Earth cities are becoming more frequent than expected and some even believe there are people in Gjallarhorn themselves that work for them. This supposed group is also said to be led by a visionary man who proclaims himself as the savior of the Earth Sphere and agent of justice. His claimed intent is meant to rip apart Gjallarhorn and their supporters and rend Earth's governments asunder to give control back to the people as the current system is by far to cluttered, and muddled in a swampy mess of political games.

Gjallarhorn themselves however seek to preserve the peace so hardly won by their predecessors. Many of them are strong willed people who want to protect their families, their way of life, and their charges, the people of Earth. Just as many claim their fighting for peace, and safety for humans on Earth as there glory hounds, and noble preservative groups. Elite squads are already working out rooting out the dissidents on Mars, and in the colonies however they are finding little to no luck in this fight. Disgruntled with their lack of progress, and annoyed at being bogged down with red tape many of Gjallarhorn's finest are preparing to take operations into their own hands under the name of one of the Noble Houses. The House of Vandervelt a legacy family from the starting days of Gjallarhorn who intend to right the wrongs set on Earth and restore peace as best as they can without getting caught up in any political incidents. Despite this however many claim that war is inevitable if one, if not two of these factions rise to power.

Hello everyone I'm hoping you're still interested in this after looking at the above plot synopsis. My intent is for us to play one of the above factions. Either Gjallarhorn, the mysterious black clad vigilantes from the colonies (based on the black knights of code geass), or the space movement on Mars which will consist of personal friends of Annabeth, or military contractors not unlike Kudelia's movement in the actual show.

I would like to keep this limited to one faction. Getting everyone split up into different factions will end up leaving the plot messy, or clunky and hard to follow. So if you're interested please comment down below which faction you want the group to play in. If you're not interested in playing any of the other factions also say so.

I'm keeping things as tied to canon as possible when it comes to machines. So please try to find a suitable machine from the gundam wiki that you want to pilot if you wish to be a pilot. HOWEVER not all of us have to be pilots. You can be a foot soldier, or a supporter as well. Not everyone in Iron Blooded Orphans are fighters. Anymore questions about the roleplay are relegated to questions below. I will answer to the best of my ability.

I am specifically looking for people who can type more than three sentences for a character. minimum is one and a half paragraph. Personality and bio when the game is chosen. This is used both as a way to make sure your character doesn't stray away during the rp, and a show that you're capable of posting actual posts and not two off sentences.

This interest check was restarted due to the OOC it being made in being immediately dumped by half the players in it. This is a restart to not alienate any potential new players.

definitely interested!
Gjallarhorn would be really cool.

Still here with ya Vance. Looking forward to see how this plays out.

Cool thanks for showing interest. Nomad here is a bring over from the rp that just bombed. the lack of customization, and an apparent different in roleplaying style killed the old one before it started. Last one started out with the vigilantes. I'd like to play them again personally but it's down to the votes. Nomad would like to play as Annabeth's crew personally from what he has told me. All the same we'll see what other people may appear.

Like Vance, I will roleplay whatever faction that gets the most votes. Either way this should be interesting.

I'm still interested in the idea. Just advocate for something with a little bit more freedom and creativity for the members. Because I like flexibility over restrictions.

I didn't say god mod, I said flexibility.

Then Annabeth's Revolution, or Gjallarhorn is the way to go on the matter. Either way I'm holding us down to mass produced, or elite class suits with a few modifications allowed. Gundams are scarce and controlled mostly by elite society or Gjallarhorn. I've already explained in the old OOC why I wanted the Vigilantes to start off with less stuff. As it stands I'm going to wait for a few more people to make sure I have a solid core of people down for this roleplay for sure.

Which I can understand and I wasn't asking for anything crazy. But my aspect of RPs is the world building and I like to take a hand at it. EVEN if we don't have Gundams. I want to modify and make my own mobile suit mate.

I'm not a person who likes custom stuff. In the majority of roleplays I've been in that have allowed custom stuff it's come back to bite the rp, or the roleplayers in the butt. Either it's poorly implemented, or it becomes too powerful. Perhaps you've had more success in that matter. The way I am choosing to handle the customization in this specific roleplays is instead of forcing people to use purely canon mobile suits is by having them take already pre-existing suits and modifying them slightly to make them something they like. Maybe sacrificing mobility to increase firepower, or armor. Speed for less weapons. Maybe simply just getting tune ups for the suit later down the line. That way I can keep suits under control and down to a limit I can understand and keep under control by being able to compare them to suits in the actual series. In my mind this seems very fair. If you don't like my way of doing things you're free to go and make your own roleplay with your own rules and such on mobile suits and how they operate in that setting.

I mean.....that's how I make a custom mobile suit.

I say, this is my custom mobile suit, its like X mobile suit

Anyone who isn't doing that and already not comparing to them suits that already exist in the RP are doing it wrong. But you should have some more faith in your RPrs. I wouldn't be asking for custom suits if I didn't know the franchise, which I do. I have watched every single god damn Gundam there ever was. So I know what I am doing.

With sincere respect, I recommend that this issue be discussed further and settled in private. Discussing concerns is always needed when creating and developing an awesome idea but is so remembering why it was set up in this first place, to have fun, RPing a story together. I'm not writing this reply to favor one side or the other but to help avoid a possible flame war where nobody wins. Please guys let's not make it personal.

I've had no intention on making this a flame war. From my perspective all of my posts have been neutral and fair. I do agree that further talk on the matter is pointless as I don't intend to change my stance on the matter though as GM. I'm still going to wait for more people to join, if they do, and any further talk about customization can be settled in private messages though I'd prefer not to get into it any further.

Yeah sorry, and I am about to be reported for this. But your idea is great, and I am still interested in your idea. But your attitude is not. So I am going to bow out of this. I wanted to show some support, I wanted to give you some of my concerns and thoughts and ideas. I hadn't considered you a GM to cut creativity, when I saw it in the OOC I tip toed with the idea. Then brought up my concerns.

@sylpphire so do you have any questions or anything?

I may be interested in this if more show. Sadly Mecha doesn't seem to do well here for whatever reason.

Well I suppose it's a start. I suppose it's because Mecha isn't the super shonen stuff where people can make bombastically strong characters without needing to rely on a strong mobile suit.

Yes, though strangely I never seen an RP on the Original Gundam here either, everyone should know who Char is, and the Gundam. Even if they don't watch it. Though the current show/season is so far one of my favs, ranking alongside 8th MS and Char's Counter Attack.

The problem with that is that the whole of the UC verse is expansive and it would require a lot of thought put into it that people can't be bothered with. I personally have tried to make a UC roleplay based around post-CCA Londo Bell before Unicorn and that failed. It doesn't help that I am not the foremost expert on UC.

Wouldn't say I am either, I know about what's on the wiki. Though I enjoyed how in it, unlike other Gundam shows, the bad guys mattered, neither was everything nice and clean cut teen angst. Well maybe some others will notice this :/
