Name: Agent Menorain; Sebastien Delacroix.

Age: 26

Origin: AFTA

Physical Description: 4825782780_4f4e1305e5_o.jpg

Occupation: Senate Agent.

Personality: Sardonic, calculating and nonchalant. Narcissistic tendencies.

Strengths: Highly convincing and seemingly trustworthy, therefore, manipulative by nature. Critical thinker and generally sagacious. Knowledgeable of Moonwings technology. Able to control most forms of transport. Impeccable marksmanship.

Weaknesses: Arrogant to a fault. Prone to over analyse and jump to conclusions. Useless in hands on combat, however, quite agile.

Equipment: Standard issue laser pistol. Messenger briefcase (brown leather). Official Afta PCCD (Portable communication and computing device; typical laptop capabilities). Ten packs of marlboro lights. Lighter. Goggles.

History/Backstory: The Delacroix family are a branch that stem from the original Leftist movement of the Moonwings Empire. Their greatest achievement was probably their invention of the low level A.I. 'Alexandrou', an A.I. that served a number of elite families. Nowadays the family is only moderately well known, and only then in certain political circles; particularly more so as followers, rather than leaders. However, the Delacroix's consistent presence has only ever been beneficial to them, thus they have continued to serve the Afta government in a similar capacity as to how they served within the Empire.

Despite originating from Afta, Sebastien lived on a planet in the Iwaku Alliance with his mother for the first half of his life. It was only when he turned eighteen that he eventually returned to Afta to live with his father. In terms of education, Sebastien studied Philosophy at Her Royal Majesty's University and completed a post graduate degree in the same.

As a relatively new state, the existence of the Afta Senate is not yet as concrete as it might seem. Therefore the Senate require agents to involve themselves in surveillance, intelligence, espionage, and other such affairs that might better guard the Senate's place within the universe. That Sebastien became employed as an agent was inevitable. The career compliments his nature. Codename, Agent Menorain, his early work was surveillance based as he was tasked with shadowing ambassadors of the Iwaku Alliance; he excelled at this. However, even though he showed promise as an internal agent, the Senate have recently decided that Menorain's talents would be better put to use as a special missions agent.

Why are you here?: Classified.

Horror/enemy creature/Object to Encounter: Personally, I like the A.I. maniac idea. Regarding objects encountered deep within the vaults, the party might find some ancient technology that could be DANGEROUS IN THE WRONG HANDS. Maybe a fleet of soldiers who have come on the command of a foreign empire?

You know what? Screw Woodrat! Let's just make our own IC and start roleplaying. This has too much potential for awesome.

He can catch up when he gets back. >:|

I believe Lucifer said something similar once.

And I warn you, the last time I took over a GM's roleplay it....

...ran to 3 sequels and lasted 2 and a half years.

Yeah, let's do it.

Welcome aboard, Mex.

Okay, so at least 60% of this has just been bullshitted, so feel free to tell me if I need to rein it in or change something or everything or whatever.

Name: Ophelia Helios

Age/Origin: 22, from Baccalao, on the outskirts of the Gentra JM500 system.

Sex: Female

Race: Human

Job/Occupation: Translator, specialising in dialects and decoding.

Personality: Well-spoken, with a firm grasp on societal codes. Ophelia is both tantalised and intimidated by rebellious acts and can often be persuaded to act defiantly, although regret often follows soon after. Otherwise an optimistic, unpretentious young woman.

Strengths/ Weaknesses: Besides her considerable skills in translation, Ophelia is fairly accomplished with her own firearm. However, she finds it difficult to handle any other kind of weapon, even if it is almost identical to hers. Given the time to adjust to and practise new skills, Ophelia shows a reasonable amount of talent to whatever she sets her hand to do. On the other hand, her restricted upbringing means that she is not inclined to venture into techniques she is unfamiliar with.

Equipment: An old but reliable handgun, slotted into a hip holster; several weighty tomes on obscure techniques and registers; finally a certificate granting diplomatic immunity within Afta. And of course, several changes of clothes.

History/Backstory: Area JM500, like most other Gentra systems, remained neutral as the Moonwings Empire fell. Being a system independent to the Empire, the heads of state did not concern themselves much with the issue. Planets as far out as Baccalao had barely even heard whispers of the name, let alone have any active knowledge of the falling empire. For decades, Baccalao was isolated even from its system core with only one ship port that was rarelyused. As a result, the societies on the planet were small and close-knit, with harsh penalties and codes imposed on its residents.

A small number of citizens were allowed to attend higher education and typically groomed for governing roles. Due to Ophelia's general aptitude and eagerness to learn, she was placed on one of these schemes and originally was instructed in agriculture. However, fate was underfoot, and Baccalao become host to a convoy of scouts from Afta, who brought all new types of knowledge and ways of life with them. After initially rejecting them, Ophelia soon found that the new and exciting technologies and way of life that the strangers brought with them had much more to offer than her homeland, and undertook additional studies in translation and code-breaking, focusing on some of the older texts from the stretches of the fallen Moonwings Empire.

Keen to keep this powerful new state on their side, the Gentra system transferred some of its more talented citizens to a variety of Afta's projects. After some discussion, Ophelia found herself brought in to aid the hacking team on their latest mission.

Why are you here?: To get out and experience the world beyond the close-knit community in Baccalao. She's not quite sure what she's gotten herself into.

Nyyuuuuu...urgh. Let woodrat at least check in once. We have no idea what he wanted to do .. unless he had none. Which would have been fine.

Damn. After seeing Amy Pond I feel like playing Matt Smith with a sonic screwdriver.

That's my schtick.

*blows Mex out the airlock*

Well, how about a prequel, boys and girls? We tell the story of how "the benefactor" makes contact with all of us and how we all make it into AFTA space against various physical and bureaucratic obstacles?

Woodrat will probably check in by the time we've introduced ourselves, which will make things easier for him in the long-run.

Because I'm bloody lazy .. Are there any particular sort of characters you guys need?

Aw, man. You're a fair enough GM, but yesterday I'd come up with a character I was going to use to troll Woodrat and see how he'd respond(but actually play if he allowed it).

Great job fixing it, Asmo. You ruin everything. You'll probably be all hopeful and understanding about it. :(

(I'll be back with a redshirt or two; just don't ask me for pictures :P )

Ah, fuck you Coffee and whatever you're planning.

By prequel, do you mean that our posts are going to be about arriving at the space station? Yes? Ok. So we're doing that until Woodrat ventures back. Is anyone else confused about when the Afta state came together? My profile (and a few others) are based on the assumption that Afta has been around for a while. Whereas a few of the sheets are based on the assumption that it was made like A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO. Therefore, instead of me having to edit my profile, I now declare that the rest of you are time travellers and my cs doesn't need to be edited. OR we could just continue to avoid the issue and go on with our lives? Yes? YES. OK.

ALSO, Woodrat has been online a few times. I'M JUST SAYIN'.

Yeah, Woodrat hates us. I've heard him say it in private convos. Something about homophobia and black people. I forget the details.

I know he has and his disinterest in a mutiny in his own thread is as good as permission to continue!

Guys? Any kind of characters you particularly need?

We need YOU, Mex. We need you.

*touches Mex's heart with a glowing finger*

But joking askew, I have no idea what characters we already have.

Try not to think of it so much as a single person taking Woodrat's roleplay away from him. Think of it more as we, as players, want to borrow his concept and universe until he is able to start the roleplay. :D

I would be down for a prequel situation. It would actually give us some time to engage in sweet, sweet character interaction, so by the time the we get to the station, we can have a good momentum going. However, the only difficulty I foresee is this: we have a great deal of characters who are not affiliated with each other and will be starting off on their own.

So to prevent the roleplay from diverging into a bunch of confused solo-posts, we need a watering hole of sorts. Perhaps a docking station near Moonwings or something along those lines.

Working on a character sheet. Still trying to decide who to be.

Although definitely working in Jack as the leader of something or other *mumbles about government.*
