Alright, let me cut straight to the chase.
The world - something advanced in technology - was sundered by some calamity that cause a total, world-wide societal collapse (and perhaps a literal sundering of landmass). Player Characters are part of the 'Redeemer' faction which are basically trying to restore a working world without resorting to things such as domination, chemical warfare, etc. Basically trying to get everyone to work together again where the other factions are reveling in the chaos or trying to bend people to their will.
Specifically, the PCs are a squad of agents called Reclaimers - agents who have complete authority from the old world as well as the best tech available. The best tech, in this case, is highly mobile battlesuits called Javelins (Inspiration directly from Anthem - slightly less flight capacity but still modular). The main weaponry of all factions is that of tech-swords and energy bows - and similar - but Reclaimers go one step further with modular gadgets and launchers that give them the edge.
Of course, a reclaimer isn't invulnerable with their suit. If one is cocky or unprepared they can be taken down, and should they run into a rogue who works for a different faction or themselves, well - be careful.
