Real Loyalty

"Alriiiiight" He sighed, rolling his eyes, "I'll get dressed." He said in an irritated tone, he hadn't been fully dressed, he was practically in his underwear, shirtless, and no shoes, and only a pair of baggy black shorts covering him up. He quickly through on his formal attire, and messed with his hair a bit, before fitting the hat. He was not used to dressing this way and it showed as he twitched uncomfortably like a child being forced to wear a suit for a wedding. Before leaving with the Lieutenant however, he made sure his PT Unit was active though on standby incase he had to defend the two with hard evidence. He exited the room, and Saluted the LT, "Hell of a first day, eh?" he said, an off base attempt at humor something to break the tension and anxiety between them.

Fate gave a small laugh. "Yeah, I have to agree with you there. My first day, and the week after, merely involved doing a ton of paper work and nothing else. You must be rather special to have to go through all this." She joked backed, trying her best to not think about what was going to happen later. If she did that, she would probably just get herself worked up for no reason. "Well, let's get this over with." She then led him to the transport and climbing into it. "Do you still have the evidence you showed me earlier?" She asked him. "I have a feeling that we will need it, since the copy I sent them was most likely either intercepted or deleted by Dirk's brother, Jail."

He nodded, "I have the vids I showed you, as well as retrieved some audio logs from missions he's generally screwed up under your command, I apologize I hacked your logging dumps, and retrieved all the audio logs from today's and other missions that shows Dirk's unwillingness to follow orders." the pace of his speech hastened, " I have them all copied and stored on secret drive that only I have access to, and since we left my room, I've been in contact with the Vakirian council seat, a close friend of my grandfather, the brothers Asshole have not one chance to come out of this one unscathed. And if they do, and we get discharged, you have a place in the Vakirian Armed Forces, I can guarantee it, especially since your genetics already contain our DNA." He finished, securing the knowledge of his data as he checked his personal Terminal.

"It would seem that you have thought this through much more than I." Fate said, a small smile returning once more. "I can only hope that you are correct with saying that they won't be able to get away with it. I myself have tried a few times to do it with what little proof I can scrape together, however, it would always disappear and Dirk would be set free once more. They, meaning Dirk and his brother, have even tried to use the disappearance of evidence as a way to show that I am incompetent and am only trying to drag their names through the dirt in order to rise even further through the ranks. The only thing that stopped them was that a couple of the High Council, who were involved in my creation, still view me as a valuable asset." She explained to him. "As for the offer to join the Vakirian Armed Force, if something does happen, then maybe I will take you up on that." Suddenly a uncharacteristically bright smile appeared on her face as she thought of something. "If we do manage to get the two morons in trouble, could you video tape it for me?"

"I always think things through, I'm meticulous with everything." He said, "And they can't, that Vakirian Council seat has given me access to the entire military network in order to make the case, I've dealt with that colonel before, he tried to have the New Dawn pinned on me, and I shoved it in his face. Put both of their heads together they don't have the brains to outsmart me." he may have sounded cocky but it was the honest truth, he was a genius even by Vakirian standards and his skills with tech and his Eidetic memory allowed him access to anything he'd seen heard or read his entire conscious life, to him, this case was a wash in his mind but he could understand her fears. "A more valuable asset than they are that's for sure, the Colonel himself was almost discharged for interfering in the process of justice, three times, able to avoid only by destroying evidence of his involvement however the Colonel nor his brother will escape this, I have access to their data, everything the colonel has ever logged into his terminal is mine to use. And I'll be sure to save you a copy."

"Thank you." Fate said as the transport pulled up to Headquarters. "Why don't we go give those two what they really deserve." She opened her door and got out. A nameless soldier stood there, waiting to lead the two to their destination. "Lieutenant Tribeca and Tech Sergeant Ark, you are to follow me to the Council room." He said with a salute. Fate nodded at him. "Of course, lead the way." "Yes ma'am." He then turned around and made his way into the building, the two not following too far behind.

After navigating the halls for around five minutes, they arrived at a large set of double doors. "They are waiting for you on the other side." The soldier said before walking away. The young Lieutenant took a deep breath in order to gather her nerves and then opened the doors. "It is about time you got here Lieutenant." Colonel Jail sneered at her. "I apologize for my lateness Colonel." She replied, emphasizing his title as he had hers. "You will not speech to me in such a manner. I am your superior and you will remember that." He growled out at her, slamming his fist down onto the arm rest of his chair. "That is enough!" An older gentleman, who sat in the largest of the room's chairs, ordered. "Yes sir." Fate replied promptly along with Jail, though his was only said half-heartedly. The man who had just spoken was Claus Magnus, the head of the High Council and one the most politically and militarily powerful men to ever live. "Now, I take it that you know why you are here?" Claus asked. "Yes sir." "Good. Now what do you have to say for your actions? While I am well aware of yours and Corporal Dirk's past transgressions, that is no excuse for the accusations you have made." His voice sent a chill through her body with how coldly he was speaking to her. From her peripheral vision she could see Jail smirking. "Sir, these are not mere accusations. I have proof of his misdeeds this time." She said as she tried to explain herself. "You have come before us many times before, saying that you have proof, only for it to disappear. Tell me, how is this any different than before? Where is your proof?" He asked. "Upon the returning trip from my unit's mission aboard the Red Queen, my Tech Sergeant Ark sent the video files containing recordings of Corporal Dirk's actions along with those of past missions." The young Lieutenant explained as best she could. "I find that hard to believe, since we received nothing of the sort. Now tell me, where is your proof?" Fate flinched as he asked her that question. She had been right to believe that Jail had once again interfered.

Ark smiled stepping before the council seat, "I have it, anticipating that my messages would be intercepted, I took the liberty of saving the evidence to my PT unit, and will present them now." He said, "I am the Tech Sergeant of this unit by the way, Technology and Science Officer Sergeant Ark Turlic." "Yes yes you're record has been reviewed, get on with your accusations." He brought up a viewing screen with his access to their systems granted by the Vakirian Council seat, Kal'len Ardunis, who as a matter of fact was also present at this hearing, and smiled at Ark from his spot in the audience. "These screens, will show without a shadow of doubt, that Corporal Dirk, has committed Mutinous acts that endangered not only the members of his Unit but the survival of Alliance personel and the ships in which his action took place." He started bringing up an Audio log from the Mission earlier today, in which the Lieutenant had given the order not to use projectile weapons in the Engineering Deck, an order which the Corporal had Blatantly ignored, "LT, the Red Queen is an Exia Class mobile base, any damage to the engineering deck done by projectile weapons could cause the reactors cores to go critical and destroy all of us. You heard the Sergeant, no firing in Engineering! That's an order!" The audio log presented in unedited and undoctored form, "This video feed from both my helmet's kill cam, and the Ship's own Video feeds show the Actions Dirk took in engineering. A video then started playing, showing all of Dirk's actions from the time he exited the infiltration craft to the time Ark beat him into submission.

The video showed Dirk throwing a grenade into the Infiltration craft, the reason it had exploded while Ark and the LT were taking the Bridge, it then showed Dirk blasting a door down into Engineering, His face Clearly visible as he opened fire despite the order given by a superior officer not to. It showed Fate and Dirk's confrontation from ark's perspective and the security feed, showing his unwillingness to follow orders. "This next video will show the Corporal again completely disregarding orders and performing actions that left only himself and the LT as a survivor, I was not with the Unit at this point, but the security feed from the ship in question was available to me, due to a cloud dump the terminals and cameras use to store data." This video also undoctored show Dirk completely disobeying orders, and trying to get the other troops to side with him, a mutinous uprising.

If you'll also direct your attention to this display, I have evidence that the Colonel, has concealed and even destroyed evidence in order to protect his own hide and the hides of his 'inner circle' and family." He brought up every single record that had been on the colonel's computer, showing every infraction the man had ever committed, real, unable to called fake, it was the nail in the coffin. "That enough evidence? I'm sure with my accesses I can bring up more for you."

"Hmm, it would appear that we have all been deceived." Claus said after listening to everything that Ark had said. He turned his gaze to Jail. "Colonel, would you care to explain your actions along with your brothers?" Claus asked, his voice taking on a colder quality once more. Jail jumped up from his seat. "Those are all lies! I would never do such a thing and neither would my brother!" He yelled, fury clearly visible in his eyes. "No, you are the one who is lying Colonel." Fate retorted. Jail spun around and glared at her maliciously. "You will shut up you lying, stupid bitch!" He screamed at her. "If you had just stayed in your place, my brother would have his rightful rank and be the leader of the HROU instead of some woman!" "Colonel Jail, you will sit back down now or so help me I will have you dragged to solitary!" Claus yelled at him, also standing up from his chair. "NO!" Jail exclaimed before removing his gun from his belt. He aimed it at Fate. "You will not ruin this for me or my brother! If I'm going down then you will DIE!" He then pulled the trigger before anyone could react.

Fate slowly looked down at her chest, watching as blood dripped down from the hole that the bullet had caused. Time seemed to stop as she just stared at the hole. Then, all of a sudden, time began to move once more and an excruciating pain shot throughout her entire body. Her knees buckled, blood began to fill her mouth, and she fell to the floor. As her vision began to blur, she watched as burly figures charged Jail. The voices that surrounded her began to fade away as well as she finally lost consciousness and everything went black.

The gunshot was a shock, the LT on the floor bleeding. Ark was a tech specialist, not a doctor, but he figured wiring a temporary cybernetic patch would keep her alive. He disassembled Jail's dropped gun and started wiring around and other things. In seconds he had a patch ready but needed to extract the slug, but had found it went all the way through.

There was no vital damage he saw, passed through meat mostly, nearly nicked her heart and passed just to the right of the spine. "She'll live...." He muttered after he removed her coat and shirt, also having to remove her bra to get a good view of the injury to lay the regen patch in. Ark pushed the patch into her wound in the front, activating it allowing the cellular structures to regenerate, while the exit wound in her back was covered in a medical salve that started to resemble her skin. Laying her Jacket over her to keep her covered, he drew his own weapon, and took off after the Colonel who'd taken off, evading the the MP's, Ark took after him following a speedy blip on the PT unit's motion tracker, tracking him just outside the Transport Bay, He held the high seat of the council with a second gun to his head. Ark didn't have thermoptic camouflage since he wasn't in any armor, but the colonel was busy with some hostage negotiators and a couple MP's, the tech specialist, using his skills from Vakirian martial arts, ducking through shrubs and trees coming up behind Jail, breaking the Colonel's arm and throwing the gun off into a pond, kicking the Colonel into a different pond.

"C'MON YOU LITTLE JINENJA FUCK!!!! TAKE ON A REAL MAN!!! AVENGE THE DUMB BITCH!!!!" He screamed, his voice almost like fire as it erupted from his throat, his body taking on a pose like a kick boxer angered and taunting his opponent. Ark took a Stance with a calm head, his blueish purple eyes flashing as his augments buffed his already heightened strength again. "Just bring it Ape!" Ark said calmly an evil smirk playing across his lips. Jail erupted with a roar as he charged the boy, but what was expected to be an easy pummelfest on the part of the Former Genesian Colonel, turned out to be barefooted kick to the jaw snapping some of the teeth out as Jail hit the ground.

Walking over to Jail's writhing form was a mistake, though as a massive fist landed into Ark's gut sending him into a tree with some purplish red slop splattering to the metallic floor, Ark's blood. Two of his ribs were broken, but He continued to fight and it continued on till Jail had no usable arms, and a broken kneecap, and four broken ribs, Ark's face, had been vandalized by a huge shiner that covered most of the boy's face, a busted lip and a bloody nose. Jail spat blood as he spoke "That Dumb BITCH! she ruined EVERYTHING! Bitches shouldn't even be allowed to do anything but suck me off and ride my pole! But YOU You little shit, You had to go digging! you had to say 'Ohhh Fate I'll do anything for you! I'll always be your little bitch BOY!" Ark quickly silenced him, punching him out cold, sending the large Genesian's unconscious body skidding and rolling over the floor a few feet, "She's a better.....leader than you...than you or your shithead brother.....will ever.....will ever be......you dumb jackass......" He then fell over ahving exhausted the last bit of energy he'd had in him, not unconscious but sleeping like the dead, drifting off hoping the Lieutenant was alright.

A young girl ran around the playground, which the scientists had built within the compound for the younger children so that they would be keep happy, laughing and smiling as she went. She wore what many would describe a black, militaristic uniform. A man stood not too far away, watching the young girl as she played with a smile on his face. When she had reached the age of three he had been assigned as her care taker and instructor. Over the past two years the two had become close, many people from outside the compound assumed that they were father and daughter they were so close. She turned toward him and her smile grew bigger. He smiled back even though at that moment he was extremely worried. He knew the future she would have. When she was old enough she would be put into the Military Academy. After that, she would become a soldier, any other job would be considered impossible, especially one as special as her. Unlike many of her brothers and sisters, her genetic makeup was much different than theirs. She had been created with the DNA of many of the species that existed with the system, however, the only one of those samples to affect her in anyway was that of the Vakirian. The rest lay dormant, whether they would ever awaken is unknown. It saddened him to know that such a young, cheerful girl would eventually die for the cause of another mans greed. He was interrupted from his thoughts as an explosion ripped through the entire complex. Moments later the doors to the playground burst open and armed men came into the room. He instantly knew what they were looking for and turned towards the girl. "Fate! Run!" He yelled at her, running to get between her and the intruders. Fate's eyes widened as she watched the closest thing to a father run towards the people who had just burst into the room. He removed the sword, which he always kept on him no matter what, and began to attack the enemy. While he fought he noticed that she had yet to move. "Run!" He yelled again, only to get hit in the shoulder by a bullet. "Run!" The young girl followed his words and turned and ran as fast as she possibly could. The white walls soon gave way to the forest that surrounded the complex as she ran as far away from the fighting as she could. Hours later Fate finally collapsed, no longer able to run any more, and passed out.

Fate's eyes shot open, waking up from what many would call a nightmare when to her it was a memory. As she waited for her heart to stop pounding she noted a beeping sound to her right. Turning her head slightly, she saw that it was a heart monitor. It was then that she remembered the excruciating pain she had felt before collapsing. She quickly looked down at her chest, in order to see that it was wrapped in gauze. "What…happened? How…long…have I…been out?" She asked to herself, her voice scratchy from disuse and the memories of what had happened still fuzzy.

A figure hopped up as Fate woke up, it was Ark, his face bandaged up his head wrapped up in gauze, his chest exposed above a large amount of gauze and propped on crutches, his left leg in a medical boot. "8 Hours, I woke up an hour and a half ago. They already removed the regen stimulator I put in the gunshot wound" He paused coughing a bit spitting some blood into a plastic cup, "We beat em, Dirk is scheduled for hanging tomorrow evening, Jail is to be executed by firing squad today around noon. Good news though, You're getting released today, I'm discharging myself in a little while, I hate hospitals. I'd rather spend my recovery time back at my quarters playing video ga- I mean calibrating stuff, totally not immersed in a digital universe made for teenagers......"

He put a hand on her shoulder, putting a little more weight than he should have but he was light, "How do you feel? About beating those jackasses, not the gunshot wound, I know how those feel." He said, giving her a soft smile and a light chuckle. "Your injury isn't all the way healed up your back is still pretty opened up. My regenerator did its job though, kept you alive till the help arrived."

"Well …considering the things ……that those two…. have done to me… and my unit, I can safely say that ……their deaths will…make me……. rather happy. I've lost ….. many good men and women …….to their stupidity…. and now they will finally…… get what's coming ….to them." Fate said, taking deep breaths every once and a while as pain coursed through out her entire body as she spoke. While the bullet would had nearly healed all the way on the outside, internally, her body was still injured rather badly, which made it impossible to speak without experiencing any sort of pain. "Also…. thank you…… If you…hadn't…… made that regen…… I would be dead…right now." She paused again, then continued. "Oh… and I don't…. really care….. what you do….. in your room….. as long as…. it's not something….dangerous….. So don't be…ashamed to admit…. you play video games… To tell the truth…. I do the same…. as well…. sometimes…when my….paperwork becomes too much." She then tried to laugh, but the pain was too much so she settled for a smile. "Did the doctor…….say how long…..it would be until……I can go back on duty….again?"

He blushed, a purplish tint forming in his cheeks at the mention of video games. "We're both to go back on duty in two weeks. I recorded the trial like you asked by the way, though uhhh it didn't quite end the way you wanted, but I attended the second hearing, the sentence hearing, and recorded that too, both videos are in your inbox on your private terminal." he strained himself as he helped her sit up, hobbling off only to return with some water. "Don't mention the regen stimulator, it was, errrr my way of giving you medical treatment, I know nearly nothing about medical anatomy, but cellular regeneration seemed simple and there was plenty of base DNA to give it a template to work with. I tried my hardest not to look by the way, I had to rip your tops off to insert the stimulator so I activated it pushed it into the wound and covered you, doubt you'd want to be laid out topless and unconscious for everyone to see." he said, blushing a bit deeper, "So you play games huh? What kind? I suppose you'll have time to beat some of them now."

"I don't mind …. about the tops, if your still …worried about that. You did ….what you had to do." Fate said, her voice less choppy then before and with the pain killers finally kicking in, speaking had become much easier. " As to the kind of games I play…., well, I'll play ..just about anything, but for the most part… I prefer RPG, FPS, and Solitaire. I'd imagine in the coming two weeks….. I'd get quite a bit of gamming done, that is if you exclude …any paperwork that I have to do." It was then that she finally saw the full extent of his injuries. "I take it that… you went after Jail?"

"I only play Fps or RPGs more fun escaping to somewhere else instead of mindlessly doing tasks over and over"

He looked down, biting his lip a little, "Yeah, the mp's were never gonna resolve the situation, I flanked behind him and tossed his gun, then tossed him, he then proceeded to spout nonsensical profanities and taunted me to 'Take on a real man!' so after the ape charged me we fought, I took some damage I incapacitated him I fell asleep and now I'm standing here talking to you. From what I've heard all he's said since they locked him up have been variations of "It's the fault of that bitch and her pipsqueak petboy.' course I don't think the memory of that pipsqueak pounding him and his brother into the ground on the same day has quite set in yet. One hell of a first day, huh?" he reiterated from earlier, wincing as he laughed holding his ribs.

"Yeah... I'll say." Fate said before giving a small yawn. Her mind began to become fuzzy and she yawned again. "I think that the pain pills are doing more… than just taking the pain away….. I suddenly ….feel very tired. I think I'm going ….to go back to sleep now… if you don't mind." With that said she slowly laid back down and closed her eyes, all while hoping that she would not have witness another of her memories again.

She was woken up a few hours later by a nurse, who was saying a transport was waiting out front for her. With the help of the nurse, she was quickly able into the wheel chair the nurse had brought with. Once she was situated in her chair, Corporal Kiel came into the room. "How's it going boss? I'm to take you to the transport and from there to Colonel Jail's execution." He explained. She merely nodded in response, still tired from the drugs. "Alrighty then, let's get moving." He then proceeded to pushed her throughout the hospital and to the transport.

Ark stood around outside the execution hall, smoking a cigarette in a wheelchair now his crutches hooked up to the back of it. Jail was being brought in to the building, shackled and mouthing off at the boy, derogatory profane things, but Ark just flashed a big innocent toothy smile and a thumbs up as a cloud of smoke erupted from between his teeth, "See you inside champ!" Ark said happily, finishing his cigarette as he now ditched the chair he was brought here in and picked up his crutches again clunk clunking along inside to a big viewing room over looking a large white room, where Jail sat shackled to the wall as immobilizing drugs were shit into his veins.

"start recording video and audio" he muttered, his PT unit starting up a recording of this he stood front row on his crutches giving Jail the same innocent boyish grin he'd given earlier.

"You know, that smile of yours worries me quite a bit." Fate said with a small chuckle as Kiel wheeled her over to Ark. Before the two had left the hospital, the doctors had given her another dose of pain killers, though these ones didn't seem make her tired. That was something that she was very grateful for since there was no way that she was going to miss Jail's execution for anything in the world, especially after everything he had done. That, and she really just hated him and his brother, so watching his execution would be rather enjoyable. While to someone else this would seem rather sadistic, she really didn't care what they thought.

"I want him to take his last breath, knowing that a child put him here." He said, referring to himself as a child, though the Alliance considered him an adult, his species with a maximum lifespan of nearly 300 human years, he wouldn't be considered a man till he neared the age of 40. "Surely the thought that a woman he thought to have killed and child beating him, will haunt his spirit for eternity." He said, giving her the same innocent childish smile before flashing it back at Jail. "You're looking better and better which each passing moment," He started immediately blushing slightly, "I mean, your recovery is going quickly!" He said trying to save himself embarrassing awkwardness.

Fate chuckled again. "Yeah, I'd believe that that would have a profound effect on spirit. That's one of the things that I'm counting on. I also believe he'll be cursing the day we were born, or created in my case." She said cheerily. "As for my recovery, you have the scientist who created me to thank for that. Speedy regeneration was one of the many things made sure was implanted into my genes. Oh, and thank you for the compliment." Looking through the glass for a moment she noted he was looking at her in shock, a few seconds later though his expression became one of sheer loathing. Fate could tell that he was cursing her out like no tomorrow in his head. She chuckled again, then grinned back at him and waved. "It would appear that he is not very happy about my current state of being."
