Project Liberation

Intro and Premise

War consumes the galaxy. For hundreds of years, insane forces have been fighting for senseless causes, dividing humanity along the four cardinal directions. Representing North is the realm of Neytonia with all of its artificially created servitor-species and reality-warping technologies. Dominated by nothing but cold, calculating, ruthless logic, it is a lifeless husk of a civilization kept alive only by its creations. Opposite of them, sprawling across the South, is the theocratic dictatorship of Syxtaros based on its worship of half-understood phenomena. Ruled by the theological elite, their inquisition purges anyone who shows the slightest sign of deviating from their dogma.

The West is no better. There are no individuals in the collective of Marsarad, only the good of the people as far as everyone is concerned. The enemy is to be drowned under a literal tidal wave of human bodies so that equality may spread. Meanwhile, in the East, self-interest and hyper-individualism run thick in the veins of everyone from Darilum, creating a society where money is power. Plagued by infighting between their mercenary forces, the only value these people agree on is the importance of profit.

But at last, these tyrannies will come to an end.

atl_119_158.JPG
This is Liberty Station. Your home. Your birthplace. Hidden in the shadow of the supermassive black hole at the galaxy's centre, it is only accessible with special means and it provides a safe haven for those who are disillusioned by their respective ideals. It is also where scientists from all four directions have worked together to change the status quo, and after forty years of work, their research finally bore fruit. Project Liberation's first phase had been completed yesterday. Today, you were granted the honour of becoming a Herald and when the time comes, you will tear the galaxy asunder in the name of the Four Horsemen.

When the second phase of Project Liberation rolled around, thousands of people were waiting for their chance to become Heralds. Their reasons varied: some did so because they wanted to genuinely help their human fellows. Others joined because they wanted glory or revenge. Whatever their convictions, they were put through a series of increasingly harsh tests to make sure they would be compatible with the technology. Only a few managed to pass and those entered the chambers reserved for them. Smiles bloomed on their faces as scientists reassured them that they had a high chance to survive the procedure. They would be remembered as brave men and women who would free the galaxy from its oppressors.

Such illusions took only an instant to shatter.

The screaming started at the same time as the process. Things better not spoken of happened within the walls of well-insulated chambers. While the scientists were not lying about the success rate of the project, they have conveniently omitted one thing: for one to become a Herald, one must face untold horrors. Out of the nearly eight hundred individuals selected, forty-four remained. All others were lost either to chaotic madness or parameters beyond the control of science. Even those who survived were changed, their bodies and minds warped by their experiences. Their parts cracked and snapped under the pressure, giving way for something alien to worm itself into their being.

Yet they still have their duties. Their former selves have sworn to aid Liberty Station, an oath that some part of their being still desires to uphold. They may not be conscious of it, but their ties to humanity are not lost completely. And even if they are, Project Liberation must be brought to completion at all cost, for the freedom of humanity depends on it.

RULES
0.) Have fun playing! The sole purpose of this roleplay is entertainment, so if you are feeling frustrated, unwelcome or just not having a blast, feel free to speak up.
1.) Never be afraid to ask questions! If you have any concerns or questions regarding this roleplay, feel free to contact me. I may not respond to you immediately, but I promise that I will help you to the best of my abilities.
2.) If I say something is final, then it is final. You may debate mechanics, characters, storylines or anything you wish to debate with me, but once I say that my decision is final, that is it.
3.) You have not been told everything. The universe of this roleplay is too large to comprehensively cover. You will learn more about it through play.
4.) Your characters may be gods amongst men, but they are not invulnerable. As powerful as a Herald might be, they can be defeated and even killed. While I will try my best to provide characters with the opportunity to live and I will warn you beforehand, not even I can save characters from themselves.
5.) You should play out the negative effects of your character's archetype-specific traits. If I catch anyone deliberately trying to downplay the effects of a Herald's traits, then I will ASSUME DIRECT CONTROL and make up something infinitely more terrifying than you would have.
6.) Please try to post once a week. While this is not a strict inactivity limit, I would prefer if the roleplay moved along at a good pace. As I am a busy individual myself, I will understand delays and the like. But I will also try my best to keep to this rule. I expect you to do the same.
7.) Finally, if you have read these rules, please include the phrase "The Four deserve to burn" somewhere in your character sheet!

Character Creation

This roleplay's character creation is a little bit different than what most people are used to. Instead of using one character sheet for everyone, player characters (Heralds) are sorted into four archetypes, each suited for a different purpose. While any Herald can fit into many roles depending on their personality and their archetype, each archetype has one thing it excels at. Choose this carefully, as there will be no way to change it during play short of making a new character! Every bit of information you need should be in the section of the archetype, but if you have any questions, feel free to leave a message! Character applications should be posted in this thread.

  • ProdigyFinal.png
Those who work miracles. Heralds of Famine who sow discord.

The wizards of this era, those who manage to become Prodigies gain control over the fabric of reality. The universe seems to bend to their whims and they discard physical laws as easily as one would throw away a pile of trash. To an ordinary creature, they are deities who come bearing the words of heaven. Needless to say, their miracles have the power to challenge an entire society's way of thinking. Thus, Prodigies usually end up inciting revolution after revolution in order to accomplish their goals.

    Traits

Reality-bending: Prodigies can alter the universe around them, making the impossible possible within their immediate vicinity. This ability is limited by four factors: First, the Prodigy must have vision and knowledge of whatever they wish to alter. Second, altering the universe requires tremendous mental effort. The greater the change, the greater the effort. Third, the universe will always try to return to its 'proper' state when under the influence of a Prodigy. The longer a Prodigy tries to exert their will over it, the harder they will find to alter reality. Fourth, a Prodigy may not alter themselves.

Addictive Spiral: Even the slightest alteration of reality causes a surge of pleasure to erupt in a Prodigy's brain. As with the use of their powers, the greater the alteration, the greater the pleasure. While this is not a problem in the short term, Prodigies slowly become dependent on the constant stream of bliss they get from their powers. While this lessens the mental strain that they have to endure when they work their miracles, it also means that they become addicted to it. If they go a long time without warping reality, they will develop terrifying withdrawal symptoms.

Bane of Syxtaros: Because of their nature, Prodigies can influence superstitious people especially well. This is very potent against the religious dogma of Syxtaros as the miracles they work seem just like the ones described in their holy books.

  • CollectiveFinal.png
Those who conquer souls. Heralds of War who relish conflict.

Whenever a Collective moves, millions of individual units follow its command. Sitting atop of complicated hierarchies that would take a normal man decades to comprehend, Collectives are single consciousnesses in command of countless bodies that come in many shapes. They are essentially the ultimate war machine as they are capable of overseeing large-scale operations while maintaining flawless control over their tactical operations. Masters of multi-tasking, their potential is incredibly high, especially if they are willing to learn the art of war.

    Traits

True Hive-mind: There exists only one mind inside a Collective: the original individual who has been altered to be capable of handling truly vast amounts of information at once. As a result, they are able to control many independent bodies at once without any side-effects. This makes them ideal for a wide variety of purposes, but their military applications are the most prominent. A Collective's potential is only limited by its experience and size, both of which have a limit. It should also be mentioned that it is possible to severe a Collective's connection to its units, leaving them unable to act.

Apathetic Agony: A Collective's backdraws are two-fold: as beings who process incredible amounts of data at once, they lose some of their innate empathy. They can not relate to individuals with singular bodies as much as before, because to them, their struggles are unimportant. They are also susceptible to feeling sympathetic pain whenever they lose one of their units. The amount of pain they receive also scales with the importance of the unit to the Collective. Losing many individuals at once or a prominent control center can create excruciating pain that absolutely cripples a Collective. Needless to say, these experiences are very traumatic.

Bane of Darilum: Because of their nature, Collectives are excellent at fighting armies. This makes them especially potent against the mercenary forces of Darilum. Similarly, their uniform nature is an unmatched terror tool against the individualistic citizens.

Special Roles: Are there any unit types in your Collective that do not fit into conventional categories? List a MAXIMUM of two here with a brief description of what they do.

Army Composition: In rough terms, what is the composition of your Collective and how many units can it control? A starting character should have about a hundred thousand units. Please note that production and communication / nerve center type units also count as parts of an army!

Cumulative Trauma: How much agony has your Collective experienced because it has lost its units? Should be low to non-existent for starting characters.

  • DisruptorFinal.png
Those who cripple order. Heralds of Plague who induce change.

Pseudo-mechanical beings assembled from billions upon billions of nanobots, Disruptors are defined by their ability to change their shape and adapt to nearly any situation. Whatever hardship life may throw at them, they can embrace it, turning it to their advantage. There is hardly anything that can really kill a Disruptor, but their true value lies in the more subtle applications of their craft. Peerless infiltrators, saboteurs and terrorists, they are more than capable of crippling entire continents with their precision strikes.

    Traits

Adaptive Shape-shifting: There is nothing constant about a Disruptor, not even the materials that make up their bodies. They are absolute masters of change as they have control over even the tiniest aspect of their being, allowing them to assume any shape as well as to render weapons almost useless against them. Their only limitation is that their mass must stay constant and they can not be resistant to everything at once. A Disruptor can gain and lose mass fluidly, but they have a limit on how much or how little they can command.

Exponential Dissonance: While the mind of a Disruptor is used to constant changes in the body's physical makeup, that does not mean it can completely negate the side-effects. Templates of long-unused forms may blur together, not to mention that to their free-flowing bodies, solid shapes with limitations are gilded cages. The more time they spend assuming a certain form, the more uncomfortable Disruptors become as they yearn for the freedom that their nanobots allow them. This feeling slowly grinds away at their mind and if they are not careful, then they may find their grip on reality slipping.

Bane of Neytonia: Because of their nature, Disruptors excel in fields where adaptability is essential. As such, they perform extremely well against the forces of Neytonia. Not only are they capable of countering their diverse armies, they can also target the nation's most vulnerable point: its infrastructure.

Inherent Tools: What are the tools that your Disruptor can use while wearing any of their forms? These tools are as much a part of the Disruptor as their nanobots.

Mass Change Vector: How does your Disruptor gain or lose mass? Keep in mind that the process should be quick, lasting minutes at most.

Stored Forms: What forms does your Disruptor have in their arsenal? Please list a maximum of ten and keep in mind that specific individuals of any species always count as one form.

Mental Decay: How close is your Disruptor to madness? Should be low to non-existent for starting characters.

  • TitanFinal.png
Those who destroy worlds. Heralds of Death who end armies.

Entire planets tremble at the sight of a Titan's massive shadow. Large enough to eclipse even the biggest cities, these behemoths of destruction are defined only by the raw power they command. Not only can they reduce entire continents to ashes, but their metres-thick armour can halt nearly everything thrown at them. They are imposing war machines that inspire terror in their enemies and while their purpose is narrow, no single unit can challenge their supremacy without being torn asunder.

    Traits

Infinite Arsenal: Titans are defined by their ability to inflict and withstand tremendous amounts of punishment before they have to retreat. To this extent, they have access to a nearly infinite storage space that can be used to store and retrieve equipment in a matter of milliseconds. Naturally, they can use this ability to replace their legions of weapons along with their damaged sections at will, thus elevating their staying power to phenomenal levels. However, while replacement of parts is instantaneous, their integration is not: it takes several seconds for protective measures and weaponry to become functional.

Constrained Perspective: Access to information can mean the difference between life and death on the battlefield. This is especially true for Titans, as their mind slowly descends into a stream of warped, alien thoughts if they do not have enough data to occupy their attention. These intrusions are distracting at best and destructive at worst, so Titans have several nodes of high-quality sensors placed on their bodies to ward off the effect. Unfortunately, these sensors have to be placed in vulnerable spots to be of actual use and they are also highly integrated. Thus, they take several hours to replace.

Bane of Marsarad: Because of their nature, Titans shine when it comes to eliminating vast numbers of foes. This makes them especially potent when dealing with Marsarad. After all, an endless swarm of enemies means nothing when it faces just as many weapons.

    Equipment:
How has your Titan armed and armoured itself? You do not have to list numbers, just equipment types.

How many intrusive thoughts have touched your Titan's psyche? Should be few to none for starting characters.

Nqame: Thufir Jagad

Personality: Calculating, distant, and haughty.

Reason For Accepting: To defeat his terminal lung cancer and advance the Syxtaros agenda and to more effectively conquer their enemies.

Avatar: He appears as his once-mortal self, a tall, broad-shouldered, and athletically-built man with a shaven head and a neat goatee. His avatar is clad in his customary military uniform of combat fatigues with his former rank of general.

Construction Templates:
1 Biped (mobile)
2 Quadruped (mobile)
3 Tracked (mobile)
4 Aircraft (mobile)
5 Wheeled (mobile)
6 Gun emplacement (stationary)
7 Defensive emplacement (stationary)
8 Sensor emplacement (stationary)

Army Composition:
100,000 total units
40% infantry
25% mobile artillery
20% air force
10% espionage
5% special forces/commando unit

Cumulative Trauma: None

Brief History: General Thufir Jagad was one of Syxtaros' generals and commanded the Syxtaros Expeditionary Forces. The SEF's mandate was to conquer outlying worlds and expand the influence of the Syxtaros theocracy to the unexplored and contested corners of the galaxy. Often, this pitted the SEF against Neytonia, Marsarad, and Darilum, as each superpower also wished to further their influence. Under Jagad's command, the SEF participated in over twenty military campaigns in the span of Jagad's thirty years of service.

While still strong of body and mind, Jagad eventually developed terminal metastatic lung cancer. Unwilling to die without seeing his nation's will fully realized, he became Herald in an attempt to restore his ailing body and resume his duties as the SEF's commanding officer. The experiments and horrors he subsequently experienced both rendered him less -- and more -- than human.

Jagad became a Collective, his consciousness diluted into a literal army that he could command with pure agility of will. Unlike commanding humans, Jagad had utter control over his forces without any hesitation, delay, or worry of misconstrued orders. His singular body had become thousands, each fighting man within it as much a part of him as a hair on his head. Now thusly armed, he was prepared to resume his duties and burn the galaxy to the ground for Syxtaros....

The Four deserve to burn.

@Razilin Unfortunately, there are some rather glaring issues in your character sheet. First of all, please read the sections "Intro and Premise" and "Rules" again, because there are some severe inconsistencies regarding the points raised in those sections. Second of all, "Aircraft" along with all of your character's emplacement types (sans sensor emplacement) are too broad terms for Collective unit types. Third of all, I would like a little bit of a breakdown concerning your character's Army Composition; more specifically the air forces part.

@Lstorm I did read all sections, including your Lore entries.

Which particular inconsistencies are you concerned about?

Also, you wanted broad categories for Army Composition (hence you mentioned quadruped instead of cat/dog). How do you want me to breakdown the airforces without going into specific role/unit? The next level down would be "air superiority" vs "multirole" bs "attack aircraft" vs "interceptor" etc, which I can certainly do. However, your prior examples suggest you wanted VERY broad categorization. The same question applies to emplacements.

@Razilin In case I was not clear enough, all Heralds are denizens of Liberty Station explicitly fighting against the four great powers (Neytonia, Syxtaros, Marsarad, Darilum). That is why Project Liberation exists in the first place. Please change your character's background accordingly.

On the army thing, the "gun emplacement" should be fine in retrospect, but "defensive emplacement" is too broad of a term. You could technically call both a tank trap and a massive fortress a "defensive emplacement", so please narrow it down a little bit. As for the Army Composition, while you do not need to list specific roles, the breakdown that I was thinking of would basically boil down to fighters, bombers, attack craft and support craft so I have a better idea of what your army consists of. Think of it this way: If you wrote "ground forces" instead of infantry and mobile artillery, I would also ask you to elaborate a little more on the specific categories.

Name:
Judas Remington

Personality:

Judas's personality before the drug was not naturally inquisitive. That was learned, in fact he was easily scared, but the restrictions of his society forced him to find about things outside their dogma, showing how rebellious he truly was. He is adventurous, yet cautious. He is daring, and yet fearful all at the same time, but with his new abilities he has found he can almost forget fear and transcend the bounds of a human.

While still maintaining some version of his former self he is able to investigate and speak freely, courteous of others' wishes, and loves to hold intellectual and enlightening conversation. Under the influence of his powers' side effects he is "chill" and much, much, more relaxed, however he becomes easily excitable, changing gears in a matter of seconds, going from happy, mad, sad, to tired just because you said, "I like your scarf." This is all dependent on how bogged down he is by his addiction. If it was a back to back usage of his powers this personality change may not be so drastic.

Reason For Accepting:

Before the corruption of his power, Judas joined the project in order to bring life to the most lifeless part of the galaxy which lied far north, on the exact opposite side of the galaxy where his home in Syxtaros was, where he was a wanted man for a simple want of understanding.

Appearance:
Prodigy Character.jpg

Possessions:

Not really a fighter himself, immense power has granted him the ability to easily overpower those who would try him in combat. He carries a standard rifle to boast his power, a sash on his arm to mock his enemies, and, normally, other accessories that would pose no issue in combat and sometimes be functional in that aspect. He also carries a book of his home's dogma, to have a better understanding of his own people. As he never took the time to really look into the religion himself and understand its meanings. In addition, he almost always has something to cover the lower half of his face with.

Primary Domain:

The speed of objects around him. So, a man running, he could make how fast they are running equal to his walk, but the energy they exert, their awareness of everything around them, and so on, would not change. This is of course saying that Judas strictly changes only the speed of their run and that he has applied this to a conscious being.

Signature Style:

Judas is a flamboyant user of his powers. Anything that shows he is higher than those around him, he takes pleasure in doing, but not only that; Judas' style leaves him at the center of attention. He is often seen in the middle of conflict, first smiling, then dazed, and then, eventually, surrounded in blood or mysteriously unharmed. He prefers his tongue to his weapon though, and often creates situations, even in fights, where he may be able to use it. He also takes joy in showing others a similar joy and will try his hand at illusions to make people see things his way or provide a quick getaway.

Even in conversation he likes to dabble with his powers. Judas will slow a person's reaction to his entrance (turning around, looking up, turning their head, etc.) in order to make grand entrances, such as coming down on a piece of debris, but slowing its descent to make him seem like an angel falling from the heavens. He will even do the reverse, leading the conversation in a direction that forces one to take his eyes off him and then disappearing, or simply doing it right in front of them as they are talking, antagonizing his prey as they think they have gone mad.

However, he does not like altering multiple things at once, he loses track of things and it frustrates him. He will do it if necessary of course.

Addiction Level:

Due to how he uses his powers, many situations in just day-to-day life arise where he has had the opportunity to "try things out" and has thus developed a minor addiction to his powers. He has become inclined to mess with others when major opportunities arise, but has it under control enough to resist most things.

Brief History:

Judas majored in physics back in his home within the strict boundaries of the Syxtaros dictatorship. There he was closely watched as he underwent his studies, to make sure he did not venture far from them, but he did. Using his intellect, he found loop holes in their guard duties, people who were willing to help, and illegal means of disguising his actions and covering his tracks. Eventually, someone caught on, or must have snitched, because patrols were sent his way and he wasn't waiting to find out why.

He ditched his home using whatever means he could find and made his way into Project Liberation. The cost did not matter. He was a wanted man because he pursued his want for knowledge, his people wanted him because he knew things they believed were unnecessary and evil, and in disobeying them he learned of a civilization that knew so much they forgot they were human, the universe was horrible. The hell that had befallen the galaxies was a greater issue then whether he had lived or died, at least it was to him. He wished to balance these scales and find a way where knowledge could inspire creativity and test dogma.

So, he became a Prodigy, determined and set in his goals.

"The Four deserve to burn."

@ShiroKiyoshi Very solid character. I like him! There are a couple of minor issues that need to be fixed, then he is good to go. First of all, you used the wrong name a couple of times. Second of all, I would like a little bit more details on how he does not understand his own people despite being born in Syxtaros; his personality does not seem like it would make him insulated from others. Third of all, there are some small grammar mistakes in the profile that should be easy to fix if you check it yourself. Just tidy him up a little bit.

[spoili]Class Disruptor

Original Name – Mahrod Su Kayriean

Code Name – φ

Personality – Prone to swearing. Relentlessly curious. Dislikes staying still. In spite of not strictly needing it, loves eating. Highly protective of his family even if they disapprove of what he has become. Prefers to use either casual form. Cares little about humanity other than his sisters and ill father, and as such has no problem doing whatever he's told to do in order to keep the money he sends to them flowing. If he's benefiting the greater good with that, all the better, and if not, it's not his problem. Prefers to be careful with money and despises big spenders.

Reason for accepting – Needed extra money to solve situation of 9 sisters after father's falling gravely ill stopped him from being able to work.

True Form – An overweight young man standing at 170 cm, 150 kg. Wears a pink, unbuttoned dress shirt, gray dress pants, a rosary hung around his neck. Short spiky brown hair, large shiny sunglasses. Black dress shoes with golden ornaments, black belt with golden buckle.

Inherent Tools
1 > Antikythera - A sophisticated, extremely powerful quantum micro-computer that projects hardlight holograms for interaction. Allows for extensive hacking and interference with any system it can connect to. Has an adaptable connector that can be altered and calibrated to whatever socket is required through the use of Planck's Maw. [spoili]

Mass Change Vector – Planck's Maw is a two-fold system. Firstly, all of φ's nanomachine components are equipped with quantum reactors that allow them to go-into/come-from a connected pocket universe. The jump process is instantaneous, accompanied by a hum, and when fading, leave behind a holographic after-image for a split second. Secondly, the quantum reactors allow φ 's nanomachine components to strip the molecular layers of a contiguous target when commanded to do so. The absorbed matter can be processed within the pocket universe to create additional nanomachines, and charge and repair existing ones within it.

Stored Forms

2 > Assault form - A gigantic, part-organic, part-mechanical dragonfly. Boasting absurd maneuverability, speed and precision inherent of its form in spite of the absurd size and mass, the form is reinforced with tank-like armor, armed with Gatling guns and missile launchers and laser cannons and bomb chutes. 10 > Unassigned.

Mental Decay – Low. Now and then hallucinates about his sisters being around when they clearly are not. Uses "we" to refer to himself. Occasionally hears the voice of his now dead older friend.

Brief History
Mahrod Su Kayriean is the firstborn son of Nhirus Er Kayriean, a former preacher assistant from Syxtaros who managed to escape to Liberty station. His wife, Areanhna Li Utrenar Os Kayriean, pregnant with nintuplets, died while giving childbirth to the nine girls (Sihya, Thruna, Ghirna, Cohsia, Mejhua, Lihira, Khara, Pheira, Wuhvua) in transit to the station.

Most of Mahrod's childhood was spent trying to take care of his little sisters. Nhirus is a hardworking
man, but the kind of work he used to do is not very conductive to the kind of jobs available in Liberty Station, and as such, he never managed to obtain much money for his family. The Kayriean family never had much to eat nor ample quarters to live in. While people were to some extent sympathetic to their plight, tight resources and schedules meant that Mahrod had to fend for himself and take what jobs and education he could find in between everything else, rather than depending on the non-existing kindness of strangers.

Years passed with things not changing much. By chance, he eventually befriended an older man, a rich guy who was now alone in the world with the passing of his wife and no children to his name; Mahrod had met him during an odd job. A strange friendship grew, in spite of the initial misgivings one had for the other. Mahrod thought that perhaps when his sisters were of marriageable age, one of them might get together with this older man, so that she could have a better life.

Things were going on more or less as planned, but the older man, an avid drinker and smoker, unexpectedly passed away. His will left Mahrod a set of clothes that he'd at one point mentioned liking to him, along with a small sum of money, for the rest had to be spent paying debts and proceedings. Mahrod's sisters managed to fix the clothes so they'd fit his large frame, and the money helped to stabilize the family's situation. The sisters got new clothes, the family larger living quarters, food, and the promises of better education and prospects, between what Mahrod had inherited, what he earned with odd jobs, and what his father brought home.

When his father fell gravely ill, however, Mahrod was thrust into despair. About to give up hope, he came to know about Project Liberation. With no better alternatives and refusing to allow the nintuplets to engage with it, he volunteered to become a Herald, asking that any available money to his name be used to treat his father and continue to support his sister's newfound, improved, non-dreary lifestyle.

Name:
Betilla Luya

Personality:

Betilla before the project tended to be meek and more or less friendly to others if spoken to. Since becoming a Herald she's become more like some form of benevolent, self-serving god in terms of her actual personality.
When faced with suffering innocents she wants nothing more but to pour tremendous effort into helping them to the best of her ability, all in order to receive their gratitude.

Those who antagonise or try to attack her are met with another kind of "god". An enraged, vengeful being that would instead use the hand that healed others to annihilate them and every trace of their existence.

Meanwhile other Heralds are typically met with a relaxed persona more than anything, willing to engage in small-talk if the others still cared for it. She is still like her former self to a degree and so she adores actual interaction with others.

Reason For Accepting:

Betilla believed whatever she could gain from becoming a Herald would grant her untold potential to change the universe for the better.

Appearance:
character%20thing_zpsvf6qndqe.png

Possessions:

Nothing of note

Primary Domain:

Above all else, biological matter is the focus of Betilla's power.
Being able to modify the very being of a living creature to her desire and mold it in otherwise impossible ways is one of the most exciting things in the world and it's used by her for both good and ill as and when such a use is required.

Signature Style:

Typically Betilla carries herself like a messiah or a god, using her power to cure that which is incurable or mend that which can't be fixed.
If someone found themselves on the wrong side of Betilla she would use her reality-warping abilities to tear them apart and scatter their very cells to the wind.
The fact that both harming and healing are uses of her power brings about the sensation of pleasure, which serves to reinforce her self-imposed notion of being akin to a god that shall help the meek and punish the cruel.

In large-scale combat she will mostly use her surroundings to create barriers and weapons due to her innate loathing of actual weaponry, especially when altering reality can make her feel so good.

Addiction Level:

A low level of addiction at the moment, due to her desires to heal those who suffer around her.

Brief History:

Betilla was a quiet, meek girl who grew up on Liberty Station like many others. You'd never be able to pick her out of a crowd back then because she never did anything to stand out and she didn't really look all too special either. But she was an avid student of medicine and if others saw her, it would be when she was reading anything pertaining to the prospect of furthering her goals to become a doctor so that she could be loved and thanked for the lives she would save in the future.

In that regard she did fairly well, at one point before the Liberation Project's finalisation she was a reasonably well-known doctor on the station, able to talk to her patients often and found that those she had helped later thanked her for it. During the speeches and the rallies about the states ruling over the known corners of humanity, Betilla had been hearing all manner of things that initially turned her stomach, but were soon embraced as her own feelings. Cries such as "The Four deserve to burn" began to become what she truly felt about the world outside of Liberty Station, the giants whom had twisted and contorted themselves into aberrations of humanity that shouldn't have been given a chance to grow.

When the First Phase was complete and the selections began, of course Betilla would be one of the masses whom wanted nothing more but to become a Herald so they could eradicate The Four from the face of the universe.

Fortunately she was chosen to be one of the hundreds selected and obviously one of the few who survived the process, she came out of that chamber like a metaphorical butterfly emerging from it's cocoon. This woman was completely different to the mild and friendly doctor that had entered the chamber in the hopes of changing the world.
Admittedly she felt a bit sour, betrayed even, over the process to turn the chosen into Heralds. But seeing as she had experienced it, she realised that no one would want to continue if they knew what laid in wait within the chambers for them.
Being kept in the dark meant that they would go ahead with it because they couldn't turn back, but after attaining this new potential who would want to go back? Not Betilla, that was for certain.

@Blighted_Agent Space Gangsta! Hilarity aside, the Probability Drive has to go in favour of some other hacking tool. Such things are more the domain of Prodigies rather than Disruptors, so let's leave them there, shall we? Fusion Maw is redundant when one accounts for a Prodigy's ability to change their own composition and purge parts of themselves to change their mass. The Mass Change Vector section is also unfinished and I would really like to see you expand more on Mahrod's history. Looking forward to the second version!

@GlitchyBugger As mentioned in Discord, the history section cuts off rather abruptly. There are some minor mistakes here and there, so as with ShiroKiyoshi, I suggest that you give the profile another read to tidy it up. Other than that, I love the idea of a Prodigy with a god complex, so she is definitely in once you fix her up!

"In Unity, we find perfection."

Name: Anastasia 'Tsarina' Milkov

Herald Callsign: T.S.A.R (Tactical Sectioned Armed Ranks)

Personality: It's best to describe Anastasia as the infamous Ice Queen told in old folktales. A cold, calculating monarch who places efficiency and obedience over petty squabbles of individuals. To no one's surprise, her powers manifest as one of the Collectives after Project Liberation. Deeply hidden behind the cold exterior lies a lonely figure who bears at least some amount of compassion, this results in her experiencing trauma as her forces sustained casualties. With the horde of T.S.A.R, Tsarina shall bring the war to end all wars.

Reason For Accepting: Her motivation wasn't unique by any means, just someone who wanted to make a difference in the galaxy she calls home. She is just one of the lucky few who survived the harrowing process of Project Liberation, gaining powers beyond her dreams but losing her individuality in the process.

di4kKeE.png
Tsarina's Avatar mostly emulates her past human self if that self wore a black bodysuit with glowing power lines. A pair of armored gauntlets and boots adorn her limbs. Her bright green irises are dimly glowing with power. Long wavy silver hair reaching just below the small of her back. She is of average height and curvaceous build.

Construction Templates: (Note: These are examples of her most used units, variations may apply to each template)
Units:
<------>
ygx575v.jpg
Combat Androids designed for infantry roles, they all have female models as they emulate Tsarina. Their role is the most diverse among the other units in the T.S.A.R, ranging from rifle(wo)men to field engineers.

xz3VDFn.jpg
Bipedal mechas deployed as shock troopers and countering enemy suits. They are more versatile than Panzers but carry less firepower.

<------>
G0YqzNG.jpg
These treaded juggernauts carry the heaviest punch among T.S.A.R's ground units. They can switch between Tank Mode and the dreaded Siege Mode where they anchor themselves onto the ground and starts firing long-range artillery shells into enemy positions.

TF9EzFB.jpg
T.S.A.R's main naval forces, these battleships are able to dive underwater, becoming submarines.

MVCOJuE.jpg
T.S.A.R's method to assure air dominance and bombarding enemy facilities. Kirovs can act as both fighters and bombers though they may be fitted to lean on a particular role but their designs allow these modifications to be implemented swiftly.

lZzJ5cZ.jpg
These quadrupeds are mainly used as APCs and Supply transports. Their four-legs enable them to traverse difficult terrains with ease.

Stationaries:
bcJ6FjW.jpg
The main factory and communication center of Tsarina's army. These crucial facilities are deployed on the orbit of a planet in preparation for invasions. Once set, they can begin producing seemingly endless streams of units. Due to their importance, Bashnyas are protected by escorts and possess barriers as its last line of defense. Destroying a Bashnya will temporary cripple T.S.A.R's forces, leaving them vulnerable for counter-assaults.

0cva68F.jpg
Four of these on each corner forms a shield to protect against hostile projectiles.

<------>
v6kjkra.jpg
High fire rate, low power. Useful for clearing out multiple smaller targets.

ntM2ZBr.jpg
Low fire rate, High power. Used to target larger, heavier targets.

<------>

Special Roles:
F75OU34.jpg
Few in numbers but possessing the power of 500 Voins individually. These elite troops serve as the final nail in the coffin for those who dare defy T.S.A.R's dominance. Like the Voins, P.S.Ys are shaped after Tsarina but carry a peculiar history as each of them was once a living, breathing, human. Those captured by the T.S.A.R Collective are screened and individuals who possess unusually high synchronization rate after conditioning are processed into these elite group of Valkyries, losing most of their individuality while retaining enough so they have a degree of independence in combat and combined with their enhanced arsenal, they are highly effective and lethal compared to standard Voins. Since Tsarina was a female human, only female individuals can reach high enough synchronization rate to qualify.

FRFfD8i.jpg
The only non-combat unit template in T.S.A.R's roster. Mays are special Voins designed to alter the inferior minds of individual species so they main join the glorious Collective. Their subjects are usually P.O.Ws since they already possess combat training and conditioning. Most of them are made into Voins (even then they are a minority compared to the mechanically-constructed Voins) but a select few are turned into Valkyries.

Army Composition: 100.000 Units Total
  • 35% Voin
  • 15% Dospekhi
  • 15% Zhatka
  • 10% Kirov
  • 5% Akula
  • 5% Rezka
  • 4% Kopye
  • 4% Kodhunki
  • 4% Valkyria
  • 1.5% Zashcita
  • 1% May
  • 0.5% Bashnya

Cumulative Trauma: Minimal. It has only been a few months since her 'ascension'.

Brief History: The youngest daughter of Alexander and Katyusha Milkov, both engineers, Anastasia grew up in the Liberty Station like most of her peers. Her conscientious and diligent personality had been apparent since she was but a child. The ambidextrous girl is able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with great efficiency. Her greatest achievement was drawing with one hand and write with the other hand at the same time. Studying history, or at least what could be recovered from the archives fueled her newfound ambition to make the galaxy a better place.

The silver-haired girl found herself delving deeper and deeper into studying the history of mankind, how they were once a great unified race and now, mere fragments squabbling with themselves. Anastasia failed to understand why people need to fight among themselves. Then, she figured that it's because of disharmony, if only everyone can share the same mind, the same desires, and ideals, humanity will have eternal peace.

Was it a mere farfetched dream of a naive teenager? Perhaps... but when the announcement for Project Liberation was revealed, she knew she had found her place. Her parents tried to make her reconsider but her mind was set and with heavy hearts, they let their youngest daughter sign up into the program. She came in as a human, she emerged as a Herald.

@Izurich Awesome character sheet! As discussed in the discord, you can have two more slots: one mobile, one stationary for your forces. The only thing I could ask for is perhaps a little more detail on her history. In she goes after that little adjustment is finished.

@GlitchyBugger God complex Prodigy has god compley. In she goes! Please post her profile into the Character Index.

Name: Azura Morsus-Revere

Personality: Azura was once a beautiful, wide-eyed young woman, the bright sunniness of everyone's day who knew her at Liberty Station. She would work diligently at her position each day and wait for her fiance to come home with the brightest smile on her face. All who knew her could say little negative about her, except perhaps that she was a bit too optimistic for the freedom fighters whose outlook was more grim. But that bright spark powered many people's days, knowing that even in the middle of a four-sided war, someone could look towards the future with positivity. There was still hope.

And then, he didn't come back from the Herald project. She received word from the scientists that he had failed to survive the experiment. Only the scientists know of her reaction; it was said something snapped in her that day. Her smile did not break, but instead grew ever so slightly as her eyelid twitched, her paradise destroyed with just a few simple words. No, she didn't blame Liberty Station...they weren't the ones who put the thought of revolution in her fiance's head. No, it was those four. The four nations of evil that spurred the thought of revolution, of change. The four who drove her husband to die.

Now, her transformation complete, she keeps a quiet personality, often keeping her distance from many others during times of quiet and peace. Despite her brokenness, many often still find a smile on her face, albeit one different from the bright innocence she once had. No, this was a smile of near glee, excitement, anticipation. Anticipation that soon, there would be cruel little monsters for her to torture. Monsters she could twist and scar and burn until they truly saw the pain they had caused her fiance and herself. Perhaps then they'd understand why this war had to be won. Perhaps then she could get him back...but until that day, she pushes forward with the burning hatred of a thousand suns, ready to turn her twisted imagination against the countless threats between her, her team, and the end of this long, bitter war.

Reason For Accepting: When her fiance perished during the initial Herald experiments, Azura quickly signed up herself, determined to give an eye for an eye and share the pain she endures, knowing the love of her life was destroyed because of their selfish feuding.

Appearance:
.eJwNxsENwyAMAMBdGAA7BBrIMhECRGhIjbD7qrp7e6_7qPfsalenyOAdIDdONLNmoRlr0ZWo9hJHY53ohigS03mXlzAY7_xql9UFRPMvWlgXG9wWHgZ9wA1dMNDydXSiiw_quUz9HFV9fy1LJgA.WZdXU-76Z3eIxuYM6O1XYQZErlU

Possessions: A small locket around her neck containing a picture of her late fiance, Derrick Revere.

Primary Domain: The senses of sentients, namely emotions and pain. While Azura is no slouch in the acts of war, her true specialty lies in the torture and maiming of the individual, whether it be person or animal or something else entirely.

Signature Style:
Azura is more than capable as fighting as a normal Prodigy might in the heat of battle, but she prefers to use her powers on a much more individual basis. Find the strongest enemy in a group and just go to town on his mind. Dig into his deepest thoughts. Find what truly horrifies him and makes him scream in pain...and make him feel all those things at once. Destroy them from inside, without ever raising a hand, inflicting a wound, or sometimes even saying a word...just a little smile on her face as she watches them writhe before her.

Addiction Level:
Minimal-Does Azura love that feeling she gets when she breaks someone? Absolutely...but that is currently more attributed to her inherent desire for revenge than reality-altering endorphins.

Brief History:

Born to a Darilum father and Neytonian mother, both refugees from their respective nations, Azura Morsus was always a unique girl. Part of the new generation on Liberty Station, she was quickly ushered into the understanding of their situation: They were a bastion for the downtrodden, a home for those who fought for freedom. One day they would reclaim that which had been lost to the four blind nations, and this would be the hub of their operations. Azura understood the conflicts that took place outside this safe zone, and took a strange ideology from it; eventually, all would end well. No matter how it got there, the future would be a bright one.

Known as one of the happiest and most cheerful young girls around, Azura made many friends as she grew up, soon taking a small job at a nearby grocery. It wasn't the most glamorous job around, but Azura knew she would never be able to be a tool of war in her state; she wasn't exactly particularly strong or athletic. She ate and exercised healthily, but she definitely wasn't capable of firing a weapon on her own. She decided to help in any little way she could, and she found being a helpful grocer wasn't a bad way to help the people get the food they needed. She just wanted to be a part of the revolution, in any small way she could.

It was in this manner that she met Derrick Revere. Having just fled the nation of Marsarad, he was bruised, battered, and barely coherent when he wandered into the grocery story. She had taken to his side immediately, offering her home as a place for him to stay while he recovered and grew accustomed to the fact that he was free at last from the controlling collective. She was a mere 17 at the time, but her parents did not mind the extra company; after all, their daughter and he got along so well. She was his bright ray of sunshine that welcomed him to a new world, a new era.

It did not take long for the two of them to begin dating, and did not take much longer for them to grow extremely close. By the time of her 20th birthday, he had proposed marriage to her, and she gleefully accepted, happy to be dedicating her life to a man who treated her so well, knew her so intimately. The marriage was to be carried out at the end of the year. A few months before that time, the talk of the Heralds experiments began to carry throughout Liberty Station, and soon reached her home. Derrick seemed adamant about joining the cause; he said that he felt terrible for the other souls he left behind, trapped in the collective like soulless automatons. He felt it was his duty to save them from an eternity of suffering. She was worried, but agreed to postpone the wedding until the revolution was over, and then they could marry in a free universe, one they would not be afraid to raise a child in.

She bid him a fond farewell as he left to the experimental facilities, knowing that one day soon he would come home, victorious in their efforts to change the universe forever.

A week passed.

Two men in lab coats rang her doorbell. She hummed to herself as she opened the door, not sure why the scientists had made a visit. They knew Derrick had left for their facilities, right? Her inquisition quickly gave way to terror as the men solemnly told her the news: Derrick had not survived the experiments. She did not react at first. Her eye twitched a bit as she stared blankly into space, her perfect little universe she had created for herself destroyed in a few quietly uttered sentences. Her bright smile did not fade, but changed, growing ever so slightly as thoughts of misery fought with ones of anger. In the end, they compromised within her, evolving to thoughts of hatred. No, not at the men of science. They did not force Derrick to sign up, after all. But someone had. Four someones. Four someones whose constant warring had brought revolution to the table in the first place. As they turned to leave her, she had lunged forward, grabbing the sleeve of one, blazing determination and vengeance gleaming in her eyes.

The Four deserved to burn.

The scientists were left with little choice; she met the criteria, and her dogged determination wouldn't let her take no for an answer. She was accepted as a late entry into the program and, one horrifying set of procedures later, she emerged a Prodigy, one whose festering thoughts of revenge and hatred only grew stronger during her torturous experience. With the lightest of smiles upon her face, she entered the army of the Heralds, ready to set out on the quest her fiance failed...and she would make sure every single member of all four great nations knew how much she wanted them all to suffer, to burn, to writhe....and to die.

Name: Akaro Fulari

Personality: An ambitious, decisive, and eccentric young man, Akaro is a nihilistic individual who believes that humanity died a long time ago, and what remains is but a carcass that only exists to be decomposed. He is also an individual who views himself as something non-human, as he is not dead. As Akaro suffers from SPD (Schizoid Personality Disorder), he prefers to be locked alone in his own world, surrounded by nothing other than himself. He also has little to no empathy when it comes to individuals, preferring to let his unspoken actions do the talking rather than going through the unbearable pain of social interaction. Before the change, he only loved himself, and inherently hated humanity. He thought that humanity was dead and have no use nor redeeming qualities.

Becoming a Herald, however, shifted Akaro's personally quite a bit. While most of his personality traits, especially his narcissism, had not changed one bit, there was a significant change on his personal views. Mainly, he saw a new use in humanity as his SPD became more suppressed, and actually found a reason to interact with the things. Although he still sees humanity as a dead carcass and is very much antisocial, he found within it something that can and will be used for his own personal gain, and thus, a reason to use disgusting and impure methods, such as talking and sharing feelings, in order to gain it.

Perspective.

And with that most invaluable resource, Akaro can then apply to his own perspective and become a being of ultimate psychological power, knowing the thoughts, feelings, actions, and history of other people before they themselves even know it, and to manipulate such a power to suit his needs. He believes that the mind is the most powerful weapon of all, and in the hands of another, can be a powerful weapon to utilize.

Reason For Accepting: Humanity is dead, he might as well just play with the decomposing carcass while it lasts. Perhaps help with the decomposition process as well.

Akarao Fulani.jpg

Construction Templates: What are the major shapes that your Collective uses as a base for their units? These must be wide categories (e.g.: cat and dog are not accepted, but quadruped is.). Please list a MAXIMUM of five mobile and three stationary forms.

fa58426f42ca28efc641489148a558a6.jpg
The foot soldiers of Akaro's Apex Desari, Apex Knights are all-terrain foot soldiers that are both hardy and agile, utilizing jetpacks and foot rockets to traverse heights and terrain with relative ease, as well as access to varied weaponry, and an enviroproof cape that detects when someone is sneaking up on them.
210px-TeslaTank.png
Tulsars are almost literal mobile batteries in Akaro's Apex Desari. Tulsars are medium-sized tanks with nano-composite armor and armed with the power of lightning, these tanks can arc electricity at lengths of up to 400 meters! The fun doesn't just stop there, upon destruction or self-detonation, a Tulsar can emit a small electromagnetic pulse capable of affecting most conventional technologies.
VTOL-28-1.jpg
Apex Fighters are a multi-purpose aircraft complete with point-defense sentry systems and has two flight modes: Thrust, which moves like a jet, and Hover, which acts like a harrier. Fighters also act as small carriers, caring up to thirty Apex Kinghts in them

FB0870_v044.1025-1.jpg
Apex Bombers are the primary form of spacecraft in Akaro's Apex Desari. Equipped with thrusters and self-sustaining solar energy, Bombers require no upkeep and can move freely thanks to the power of a star. Bombers only contain a single weapon: long composite metal rods, that are magnetically repulsed from the bomber at high speeds in order to cause significant impact damage, whether that applies to other ships, or to the ground in the form of ordinal bombardment.
bb9a6f88a52f2c2db3d381252ec22ebc.jpg
World Devastator Supercraft, or simply W-D Supercraft. Are massive all-terrain dreadnoughts capable of fighting large groups of enemies all by itself. If the overpowering amounts of lasers, Mass-drivers, Rockets, Point-Defense Sentry systems, falling lava, and electrical arcs isn't enough to kill you, then surely the W-D Supercraft's carrying capacity of 15,000 units might be enough to do it. A highly powerful unit, these are very few and far in the Apex Desari, and are used very rarely as they consume a lot of power.

image.JPG
Apex shards are the key nodes and central systems of the Apex Desari. Shards are environment-resistant skyscrapers that serve a multitude of purposes. First, they serve as the communication nodes of the Apex Desari, and allows Akaro to view and control things over long distances from the comfort of a safe place. Shards also have a large underground area, that serves as a manufacturing plant and a storage area for ground units. Shards also house Regents and Faders, which are the two most organic and important units in the Apex Desari. Finally, Shards passively project its influence toward anything around it in the form of propaganda. Shards, as well as stations, are maintained by Regents.

wip_space_station___5_4_2011_by_freiheitskampfer-d3fi01o.jpg
Apex Stations are the space variant of Apex Shards. It serves the same purpose and holds the same powers as shards, but with a few minor differences. First, Stations are much larger than Shards, and have a larger projection range than shards. Secondly, Stations have their own defense systems, and are perfectly capable of defending themselves, where as Shards have to rely on good propaganda and the units around them for safety. Lastly, Stations manufacture space and air units, as opposed to ground units.

Special Roles:

space_captain_by_shizen1102-da446yb.jpg

Regents are considered 'ascended knights', and serve as the elite infantry force of the Apex Desari, and the keepers of Apex Shards & Stations, and serve as the main guarding force of Akaro Fulari. Regents are either individuals who have decided to give up their freedom for the collective, or Knights who are deemed 'ascended' and upgraded by Akaro himself, and gain a small humanly touch to their skill. Regents use the power of magnets to their advantage, attracting and repelling large amounts of metal at will, mass ejecting rockets at supersonic speeds from their shoulders and legs, or simply flying about thanks to quantum levitation. This makes regents very powerful against anything inorganic and/or made of metal. A small bit of individuality is granted in the form of small combat decisions for attaining such an esteemed role, and no two regents look alike, yet wear the same clothing and armor to unify their role.

latest
Faders are a small, completely identical group of empaths created to mirror someone dear in Akaro's life. Faders are completely organic units, and operates like an organic should. Faders are empaths, meaning they can feel certain emotions, and change said emotions to something more appealing. Empaths are used to infiltrate society, and slowly convert key members to appreciate and fight for the Apex Desari in a way that gets everyone in that society to agree and follow suit, potentially winning whole battles without any loss of life. In an emergency, all Faders are equipped with a parasol that, when in contact with an organic substance, can almost instantly paralyze the attack, or completely shut down their organs, if the settings are set to 'kill'. Faders, being all identical, are kept at a low and rare rate to prevent the enemy into thinking they're slowly getting tricked by green-haired parasol-wielding ladies.

Brief History:
Akaro was born in the Realm of Darilum, where Charisma was king and Individuality ran rampant. His family held a high standing with the corporation, and with high standing comes wealth and popularity among Akaro and his siblings, of which contained of a younger brother and older sister.

As a young child with SPD, he did not partake lightly to this sort of life. He spent much of his young years sequestered from his family and keeping to himself, spending most of his time isolated and letting his imagination run rampant. His parents saw this as a problem and forced him to cooperate and socialize with the rest of the galaxy. They sent him to an school that specialized in educating children with mental disorders all the way to the twelfth grade. It was there where Akaro was proven to be academically gifted, having more intelligence than most of the children there, as well as some professors. He used this knowledge to further isolate himself under the various piles of books and history in which the galaxy contained.

As he grew older, Akaro became even more distant with the world around him. He learned through historical texts and philosophical values that the galaxy he lived in was no longer teeming with life. He learned that humanity died a long time ago, that these people walking around him weren't human and that he no longer wants to be a part of whatever this is. He also learned about Liberty Station, and how it was the last bastion for life in this dead galaxy. It was these years where Akaro decided to be a social deviant in Darilum, and to use his family's wealth to pave a road straight to Liberty Station.

Akaro, disgusted at the form he was, decided to get rid of it. He spent a large swath of his family's wealth to genetically transmogrify himself into something in which he deemed inhuman. He decided to go somewhere simple yet symbolic: The Canine. A Human's best friend. It seemed like a decent fit for his shoe size, so he went along with it. He also self-taught himself to think of these things as lessors, and that he is above them all. In the end, Akaro became both physically, mentally, and culturally different from Darilum, and before it could even notice, he was already on his way to Liberty Station.

When he arrived, however, he wasn't quite pleased with what he saw, and still thought of the station and it's inhabitants as corpses, but at this point, his SPD was left untreated for so long, that it was the one in control and not Akaro. Where Darilum failed in treating his SPD, Liberty Station succeeded, suppressing it to a degree which at least made him grow to accept the Station's society. Especially the Herald Program, in which the reason why Akaro was really here. It was this program that really knocked him and his SPD down a peg, and it was this same program that gave him the views and respects he now uses to this very day.
