Project Genesis - Episode Eight: Requiem of the Gods

Chestel had not known what to do with the arrival of the strangers, and was close to emotionally shutting herself away from it all for a bit, unable to handle the situation. She just wanted to take care of what she knew she could work with, what she knew she could fix. She had watched Ada work with that odd robot, and she watched as Altair seemingly absent-mindedly stroked the fire with that crudely shaped crutch. Everything around here was kludged together.... Even the people around this fire were in some way damaged and crudely repaired. She tended to the fire and she watched over the heating water. There wasn't much to offer these strangers, but she had done what she could.

She hadn't liked knowing that the Ghost Feasting would be the next day, or that the world had become what it had, or the fact that if that celebration went through as planned, it would be the true death of everything she stood for. Everything she had tried to escape. So when Altair started getting skeptical, she thought as hard as she could for any answers that could give them the results that they wanted. Anything that could help, could she remember anything from when she was with those pirates? Something that could get them inside, something that could gain points in their favor. Anything that could get them inside those walls. Even one with little chance of working. It was better than nothing.

Then she had stated the one thing she could only hope that would help, and as she explained it, the feeling of heavy weight drifted off of her shoulders.

She could lead them straight where they needed to be. Anything to help. She rose to her feet as the other two did, feeling hopeful as she walked with them to the speeder, feeling even more relieved as she heard Ada following her, and as Altair squabbled and then followed, Chestel believed she was part of a truly motley crew of people.
