History and Plot:

There was a long while that people didn't seem to need the goddesses as much. Science and prosperity reigned, and the gods were almost forgotten. Some reincarnated, choosing a mortal life over deific longevity and gifts. Others remained, almost forgotten.

But lately, in the modern day, humanity has turned its attention to the gods and goddesses in a new way. Science and faith are merging in a new renaissance, old ideas being cast aside, though not without a fight. But the world needs gods and goddesses once more, and there are not enough to fill the roles in every pantheon. The remaining gods and goddesses have chosen to find mortals with comparable attitudes and seed them with the powers left behind by the long gone deities.

This will be done safely, each potential informed beforehand of their gifts. Those who don't accept will have their memories modified, those who do accept... They will be gifted with their new powers and taken to their new home for the time being. Prism Goddess University, the university in the sky.

Pantheons:

The Wild North Pantheon
The pantheon of the Wild North is concerned with combat, strength, sorcery, and prophecy. Their goddesses are often just as strong of warriors of their gods. Those who favor them have a strong sense of honor and family, revere their ancestors, and accept that these gods once walked among mortals as kings of the land. The Wild North Deities are at home in snowy environments, are excellent navigators, and excel as poets.

The Mountaintop Pantheon
The pantheon of the Mountaintop is a pantheon of competition, games, trickery, and shapeshifting. They often directly interfere with mortals and often have strong rivalries with their own kind and the other pantheons. Feats of strength and skill are highly valued by them. They are as at home on the sea as on land, and love farming. Those who favor them have quick minds or strong bodies, if not both. They love competition, and are rarely ever shy.

The Desert River Pantheon
The pantheon of the Desert River is comprised of those who favor justice and balance, though there are a few who lean toward chaos. This is accepted, as it is part of balance itself. They are great librarians and keep incredible records, and are known to have a mortal representative who speaks for them to humanity. They value skill with weapons and inventions, astrology, and mathematical talents. Those who favor them are often instructors, philosophers, and builders. A few are called to security work. They are gregarious and sure of themselves.

The Shrine Pantheon
The Shrine pantheon is dedicated to spirituality and leading humanity to experience the greatest gifts of life. They often work side by side with other pantheons and have a direct hand in making sure that mortals receive the talents they have earned in past lives. They are the front line combating demonic and dark forces, and are just as fond of poetry as the Wild North pantheon. Those who favor them are soft spoken but well spoken. They understand the necessity of life and death and the cycle and balance the two bless the universe with. They are also the first to defend those mortals who need a champion.

The Bright Elf Pantheon
The Bright Elves care little for humanity, though they have occasionally been known to come to the aid of mortals. They are mostly absorbed in their own pursuits, finding other pantheons too locked into structure. Fun loving, cheerful, and capricious, Bright Elves find humans to have short lives and not be worth getting to know. Gods, however, are fun to prank and trick. It is rumored that some deities in other pantheons are actually Bright Elves that fell in love with a god or goddess and were adopted by the pantheon.

The Broken Elf Pantheon
The Broken Elves often find much darker humor at the expense of others. They have been known to hunt humans and demigods and are keepers of dark magics. They are dangerous, and not permitted on the grounds. They are just as unpredictable as Bright Elves, but care nothing for the lives of mortals, except how long they last as prey.

Characters:

Characters will be new goddesses, fresh from a mortal life for their first day as students at Prism. They have been shown to the main hall of the beautiful floating castle that houses the school. Here, they will be informed of their gifts, given roommate assignments, and introduced to staff.

When creating goddesses, choose one of the non-elven pantheons for them to belong to, as well as what they are goddess of. (Love, beauty, death, horses, hearth, etc.) Their domain should reflect their personality. For instance, a goddess of death may have a grim sense of humor. A goddess of law might be an actual law student or someone who is obsessed with order. You cannot have the same domain of another player who is in the same pantheon. What pantheon you choose will also be determined by personality, so read the pantheon descriptions carefully. No one can play a goddess of the elves, seeing as everyone started as human. Keep in mind, your character will NOT start the game knowing their pantheon or domain. Characters should be university age or older. Characters will not start play with any powers active, but will soon be taught how to tap into powers related to their domain. (Feel free to private message me if you want to take a certain domain a certain way when it comes to powers.)

Note: Please do not use actual goddess names. Not only are your goddesses new to their domains, but it is more fun for this all to be based on a fantasy modern Earth analogue.

Name: Galya
Age: 19
Domain (Goddess of): Battle
Pantheon: Wild North
Physical Description:

I hope that this is all right with you... This is what I had in mind when you first started talking about it and all.

History:
The daughter of European immigrants, Galya was born to very loving parents who were nonetheless strict. Due to their general socioeconomic status, she grew up in an area that was less than savory at times. With their influence, however, Galya never wanted for a loving home even if they did expect a lot from her from a very early age.

When her parents were at work, Galya was often left to babysit herself once she reached the age where they felt that she could be trusted to do so. As she grew older, she used this chance to spend time with the other children in the neighborhood. Free-spirited and headstrong, she quickly became the leader of the group through a mixture of honest charisma and fistfight prowess.

All throughout her schooling, she was a notorious tomboy and quite a task to get along with for many of the girls that attempted to befriend her. She is capable of guile but considers it a last resort and when in a friendly setting she is simply artless and confident but this has led to poor friendships with other girls. She was never in trouble with the actual schooling, however, being meticulously well behaved for the teachers in order to keep from angering her parents. Her respect for them keeps her in line and always has, despite her strong nature.

When she was approached by those scouting for a new goddess, she eagerly accepted the opportunity, especially since she didn't really know what she wanted to do with her life anyway. The prospect of being in a school with only girls, however, has given her more pause than that of becoming a goddess.

Personality: Strong-willed and stubborn, she'll never back down from anyone who challenges her. She tends to be honest to a fault, even at the expense of other people, though she has been trying hard to learn to be a bit more subtle. Capable of guile and deceit, she sees it only as an act of desperation and not something to be proud of because it does not showcase her true strength. She is open to making friends but is not very good at it.

History: All through out Tessa life, she been a bundle of energy. Which wasn't such a bad thing, as long as she was given a difficult task to over come. Her parents both majored in psychology were wonderful to her and very understanding. They worked with her every step of the way to work with her abundants of energy instead of finding fault and getting frustrated., but once the days of school came Tessa found herself in trouble all the time. If it wasn't being able to sit still, being to talkative, or just plainly getting into fights when her emotions were pushed. It seemed she spent most of her time in and out of the principal's office, and in middle school she was constantly in detention. At home, still her parents support her in every step and eventually place Tessa into martial arts at the age of 14. the forms of meditation and the large amount of physicial activity cruve her behavior greatly.

Unfortunatly any time Tessa feelings were hurt, or her temper push, an outburst of tears or first would soon follow. Which made High school very difficult. Like with any young woman the years of teen hood were strange and awkward. Other women could be so down right hurtful, and boy at that age,.. well they all had one track minds. It wasn't untill she reach her twenties and was finishing her degree in bussiness did she finally find peace. At that point being a black belt in Several forms of Martial arts, and a weapons expert on many levels. was she able to persue her dream of opening her own Dojo.

From there she was able to help other children hone there emotions, and turn there energy into a frightening force. through there outburst she was able to teach them things about themselves, and help them change into the people they wanted to be. the constant motion, desctruction of emotional barriers, and pure release of high energy levels, Was Tessa able to find her own sense of balance in life.

and that brings up to present time.

Personality:

Tessa Has a very passionate personality,.. If something catches her eye she consumes it and makes it apart of her. She can be very loving, inviting and warm in nature if she is treated right, and payed attention to. She has compassion for almost all walks of life. And almost all the time she's very happy, Flirty, and full of jokes. Tho she can be a bit of a trickster with her sense of humor which at times gets her in trouble. Since her feelings get hurt pretty easily. there is always the chance that Tessa will get vengeful. This can be avoided if the issue is taken care of quickly.

Name: Alaine
Age: 19
Domain (Goddess of): The Mind
Pantheon: Desert River Pantheon
Physical Description:
Satellite_Mind_by_my_goddess.jpg
History: </SPAN></SPAN>
Her parents always thought of her as odd, when she was a child. Seeing as it was almost as if she was becoming a totally different person on a mere whim, always switching around. Afraid, they sent her to get tested, and the doctors told her parents she was ‘unstable’. They couldn’t even seem to quite place it, whatever was wrong with her. They thought it might be bipolar disorder, but violent mood swings were not present, except for the occasional depressions. Finally they simply pinned it as multiple personality disorder, even though the majority of the symptoms were missing. Really, the girl was an enigma.</SPAN></SPAN>

She spent the majority of her life in institutions, drugged up on medications administered for her ‘disorder’. Reality became flimsy, as she would slip in and out of it. When she was presented the opportunity to become a Goddess, she instantly took it, seeing it as an escape.</SPAN></SPAN>

Personality: There are many parts to Alaine, just as there are many parts to the mind. One side of her is intuitive and artistic although when hyperactive d</SPAN></SPAN>epression is triggered, (a hyperactive right hemisphere links with processing negative emotions, pessimistic thoughts and unconstructive thinking styles). When within this ‘right side’ mode, she becomes </SPAN></SPAN>risk taking; uses feeling; enjoys symbols and images, philosophy and religion; she presents possibilities and imagination rules. </SPAN>She may also switch to a personality reflecting the left side of the brain, where she would </SPAN></SPAN></SPAN>use logic; is detail oriented; enjoys words and language, math and science; has order/pattern perception; forms strategies; is practical and safe; and is reality based, in other words facts rule. Usually she tries to work out a balance between the two.</SPAN>

Age: 20

Domain (Goddess of): Waves

Pantheon: Shrine Pantheon

Physical Description: When she is not on the beach in her bikini, or board shorts, she settles for flip flops, bell bottoms, and a tank top.
Pirate-girl.jpg

History:
Her parents were hippies that raised her by the ocean. They started a little seaside café where she worked a lot of her life. Talise never worried about school; she got decent grades. She was never known for getting in trouble either. Of course she went through normal stage of teenage rebellion, but her parents supported her through which probably helped her not do things she would regret in the end.

Throughout high school and into her college years, Talise was known for teaching surfing lessons to the children who were involved in afterschool programs. These children couldn’t go straight home because most of their parents were workaholics, so she figured why not bring some light into their world. Many of the children felt more like little siblings, and she met her fiancé through one of her ‘siblings’.

Aiden was just as carefree and light as Talise. He wasn’t all that into surfing or the beach, but that didn’t matter to her. What was appealing was the fact she could hang around with him as he plucked out songs on his acoustic guitar. Aiden was a struggling musician who landed a couple gigs here and there, mostly at her parent’s café.

When she was offered the chance to become a goddess and go to the university, Talise really struggled with her decision. There were her parents, her children, and Aiden. She was sure they would all understand and be supportive, but a part of her still waged an internal war. After a bit she made her decision.. Talise never knew what she wanted from life; she was concerned with catching the next wave and accepting the offer to be a goddess was the next wave.

Personality:
Talise is an easygoing, go with the flow type of person. She believes life shouldn’t be rushes, and that everyone should take the time to smell the salty air. At times, she can be quite stubborn, but that’s only if there is something she really feels passionate about. Her temper is long fused, and she is tolerant of most people. Talise realizes that every person brings something different to the table, every person has a quality worth cherishing.

Name: Dara
Age: 20
Domain (Goddess of): Bravery, Courage
Pantheon: The Wild North
Physical Description:
female-fantasy-characters-12.jpg
History: She grew up in a home filled with violence. Her father was an alcoholic that abused her mother, and sometimes her. She dealt with it up until she was fifteen, when she called in to an anonymous hotline for battered women and child abuse. Her father was arrested shortly thereafter and she and her mother moved into a small apartment. Deciding she'd never let something like that happen ever again, she began to work out and become as fit as possible. When she turned 17 she got a job to help her mother with bills in a warehouse, where she has been working ever since.
Personality:
Stubborn, Dara is a hard person to get to change her mind when she's set on a task or idea. Kind, she will always help those she has the resources to. Vigilant, she is always alert for anything.

Name: Elizabeth [Eliza] Renaldi

Age: 20

Domain (Goddess of): Law

Pantheon: The Desert River Pantheon

Physical Description:
Clicky

History: Elizabeth grew up as the daughter of a socialite and a politician. She was raised with strict discipline and was never allowed to put a foot out of line. She went through her education as a top pupil, never getting anything lower than a A- in her life. She finished high school with flying colours before going on to Law School. Her parents often didn't allow her out to social event, except to ones that involved, them and their causes/parties/ect. She was also their 'bragging right' and often had to put up with being talked about when she was in the very room, something that didn't amuse her. She was known as their daughter, not for being herself

When she was offered the chance to become a Goddess, she thought long and hard about it, spent hours on end thinking about if she should or shouldn't. But she decided it was finally time to get away from her parents, her life that had been controlled and planned to the smallest detail. So, she decided with the chance of a lifetime.

Personality:Elise can appear to be cold and heartless but she can be a kind loving person, but she's also extremely defensive. She dislikes people who think she's a pushover, and she isn't afraid to speak her mind and stand up for herself or people she cares about. When she becomes upset or sad, she usually pushes herself away from everyone, often disappearing for hours on end. She likes to contain herself, she doesn't get 'hyper' or over excited, it's not in her character to jump up and down like a child in a candy store.

Everyone's goddesses are looking wonderful! We should be starting by the end of the week.

Character Bio:

Name: Jill Crusoe
Age: 25
Domain (Goddess of): Weaving fate
Pantheon: Mountaintop
Physical Description: Plain, mousy brown hair and eyes, average height, pale skin. Pretty much the only outstanding thing about Jill is all of the handknitted clothing she wears - socks, hats, sweaters. She's knitted herself a couple of skirts as well. All of her garments are very intricate, cabled or colorwork, or perhaps plain, crisp stockinette that fits very well. Other than her clothes, Jill doesn't pay much attention to her appearance.

History: Jill was three when her aunts first put knitting needles in her hands. All of the women in her family did some kind of needlework, and they figured that three was old enough to begin teaching Jill how to knit. She was hooked from the beginning. As a child she would make blankets for her dolls and scarves and hats for her family members, learning fun new techniques but never making real garments until she grew older. Her mother tried to teach her embroidery, which was her own special skill, but it never took as well as knitting did.

As Jill grew older, she continued knitting and learning various methods of making textiles: sewing, crocheting, weaving. Knitting remained her chief hobby and as she grew older she helped create warm garments for her various aunts, uncles, and cousins. Sometime just before high school she decided that she wanted more than anything to own her own yarn store and be a major part of the local knitting community. Her family, as well-connected to the textile industry as they were, helped her get a job at a local yarn store as a junior in high school. Jill stayed on while going to college for business and saved as much money as she could to open her own store. A few years later, with gifts from her family and her own savings, she was able to open up Time For Yarn, which has been open about a year now.

Personality: Jill is determined, inquisitive, and, of course, obsessive. She has always known what she wants out of life and was able to make what she wants happen. Jill counts herself lucky to be someone born into a family that had the skills and connections that she needed to pursue her dreams, as if fate had intervened into her life to put her where she was meant to be. She works very hard at the store and counts all of the smiling faces that visit as individual successes. Jill prides herself on having a very open, friendly, and successful store.

Name: Tasnim Attar
Age: 18
Domain (Goddess of): Love and Femininity
Pantheon: The Shrine Pantheon

Physical Description: Long, wavy flaxen-blond hair and pale blue eyes. She's very slim and daintily-boned with long limbs and soft angles. Her taste in clothing is loud and vivid, with funky accessories.

History: The pampered youngest daughter of oil tycoons, Tasnim has never known much in the way of hardship. Sure, her fair features were less common in her part of the world, but she was raised in an open-minded social circle and never lacked for playmates in the children of her parents' business partners. She's always made friends quickly, and for Tasnim, a friend made is a friend kept.

Her first love came to be when she was four years old. A curly-haired little boy her age, whose name was probably Tommy but possibly Timmy, and who played knight and princess with her every day. There and then, Tasnim decided that one day she was going to find true love, and it was going to be the most wonderful thing EVER. And, while she was at it, she would help everyone else find it, too. Ever since, she's been matching people up, and her knack for seeing relationship potential has yielded an uncanny success rate... even if it's taken years, in some cases. If Tasnim calls it, chances are it will happen. Which is why her friends try to keep her from opening her mouth on matters of the heart. Somehow, though, she's just so easy to talk to...

It's not surprising that her candidacy for Goddess of Love was proposed.

Personality: She may be a girly-girl and more than a little silly, but she's no pushover. She's a tough, confident girl who won't stand for her friends being mistreated- mess with them and she's liable to beat you up. And she packs a surprising punch! On the other hand, she's not the type to hold grudges; a sincere apology will get you off the hook, and you may even be her bestest friend in no time. Then all you'll have to worry about is her propensity for meddling and playing matchmaker. And she's more than smart enough to get herself (and you) in a whole lot of trouble.

I call darkness! >8D

Name: Octavia

Age: 22

Domain (Goddess of):
Darkness

Pantheon:
Desert River Pantheon

Physical Description:
Pale and pretty with dark curly locks, a pair of haunting blue eyes to add to her dark character. She is on the short side but she is also thin, curves being where they need to be. Her clothing is usually very expensive looking and black, all of it based on Victorian fashion from 1860-1900 or Gothic Lolita. It is rare to see any bright colors on her other than red, and only if it is a minor color of the outfit.

History:
Octavia was never like any of the other girls. When they wanted to wear pink, she wanted to wear dark purple. When they wanted pet dogs or cats, she wanted a black crow. When they wanted to buy an over done dress for prom, she was buying Gothic Lolita styled outfits to fill her closet. Yep, she was not like other girls. It was mostly because of her mother and father, her mother being a horror novelist with a dark sense of humor and her father a mortician. Their dark jobs had a great influence on her mind, making her more aware of the world around her. Her parents often told her to always to good and that learning was the greatest thing one could do.

She had a knack for seeing the worst in people, even if she wasn't trying. It was as if every little sin they have ever committed became visible upon their faces, this was one of the reasons that she never had many friends...She always new their worst habits and characteristics. She eventually graduated high school and started to study to join her father in his work. However, many people mistook her intentions for something darker. This put her on a harsh path of rejection and dislike. It was hard to convince people that you only dressed in all black and studied to prepare the dead for burial because you liked too...it always had to be a more sinister reason.

When the offer of becoming a goddess was made she quickly snatched it up. She hoped to use this opportunity to educate the world that just because something was dark, did not mean it was evil...

Personality:
Surprisingly, she is actually very kind and understanding of all people, no matter the back ground. However, her sense of humor is dark and most things that would make people sick to their stomachs interest and fascinate her, especially the dead and such. She is on the shy side though as she fears that her interests will make people fear her or make incorrect assumptions about her character. Once she gets to know someone though they will find a very good person, someone to help them through tough times and let them know that no matter how bad things look, it will be alright. The only thing that people should know if you cross her even once...You will see darkness is its worst form.

Faculty Descriptions

Morrow, Goddess of the Sky. Dean of the University, Mountaintop Pantheon

Morrow is a regal figure. She would be imposing if it weren't for the ready smile she shares quite often. Long, silver hair hangs to her hips, flowing freely. Her skin is deeply tanned, but appears otherwise healthy. Deep blue eyes twinkle merrily. She is nearly six feet tall, and tends to wear flowing blue robes, white and grey clouds moving lazily across the fabric. A golden circlet crowns her head, decorated with glowing stars, Earth's sun in the center. The stars, far from being childish representations, are exact, scaled down replicas of real stars, the sun even occasionally sending off a miniature solar flare. Morrow wears golden gladiator sandals and a corset that seems to be woven from gilded grape vines. Each golden grape contains a depiction of various constellations.

Kaela, Goddess of the Harvest. Life Studies Instructor, Mountaintop Pantehon

Kaela stands at around five foot two, has flawless olive skin, and is slightly heavyset. Her curves look somehow right on her, though, and she has an air of motherliness. Her long black hair is worn in an intricate updo, which is woven through with ropes made of what appear to be corn silks of the faintest yellow. Her eyes are the color of a ripe plum. She wears a functional looking toga of deep grass green, trimmed in what, upon close inspection, are individual grains that hang like tiny tiny beads. She wears a bracelet on each wrist, the right gold and the left silver. Her feet are bare, and both feet and hands are heavily calloused.

Baneflame, Goddess of the Underworld. Curses and Bindings Instructor, Desert River Pantheon

Baneflame is tall and unnaturally thin. She stands at six foot three, with deeply bronzed skin. Her eyes are deep brown and lined in kohl. Her head is shaven, a golden band around her scalp with the head of a canine at the front of her brow. She wears plain linen robes that have been painted with passages in an ancient language. These passages seem to move and change as she needs them (and have been known to project onto walls when she needs to teach about them.) Golden armbands set with lapis lazuli adorn her wrists and forearms. Her feet are clad in simple sandals, and she smells of spices.

Honora, Goddess of Wisdom. Tactics and War Instructor, Wild North Pantheon

Honora is tall, standing at five foot eight. She is pale skinned, with faint freckles. She is well muscled with broad shoulders and sturdy legs. Her long, blond hair is held back in a strict braid that is twisted into a knot at the base of her neck. Her green eyes are almost always narrowed, as if she is just waiting for someone to break a rule or make a mistake. Honara wears leather armor lined in warm looking furs of various types. She carries a spear with her at almost all times. Around her neck is a necklace made of plain colored glass beads. Unlike the others, she does not seem to wear any obviously enchanted clothing.

Pearl, Goddess of Beauty. Romance and Public Speaking Instructor, Shrine Pantheon

Pearl is of average height, at around five foot four. Her skin is peaches and cream, which goes well with her strawberry blond hair. She is curvaceous, and her face is heart shaped with soft, pink lips and green eyes. Pearl wears long, sweeping robes of satin that shimmer with diamond dust. These robes move with the colors of an aurora against a night sky, the effect intensifying with the strength of emotions in the room. The robes are open from her thighs down to reveal shapely legs and ankles adorned with bells. Her hands are clad in gloves of woven strands that form a loose mesh. The cloth itself appears to be mother of pearl instead of actual fabric. When she moves, faint music accompanies her, and an appealing perfume fills the air.

Wildsong, Goddess of the Hunt. Hunting, Elven Relations, and Bardic Studies, Bright Elf Pantheon

Wildsong is tall and lithe, standing at just under seven feet tall. She moves with a gentle and inhuman grace. Her skin is silvery, almost seeming to shimmer in the light, and her hair is long and green, worn in loose spiral curls. At the temples, a few locks are pulled back and pinned at the back of her scalp. She wears very little, favoring silvery green leather studded with silver beads. Her boots come to mid calf and match the rest of her clothing. Each silver bead is the base for a pristine white feather, and these seem to move in an unseen breeze.

GoddessofthePack.jpg

Name: Lauren Nichols

Age: 21

Domain (Goddess of): The Pack

Pantheon: Wild North

Physical Description: Lauren has long, black hair that is often pulled back into a bun. Her skin is tan from working outdoors and her eyes are jade green, framed by long black lashes. She stands at five feet two inches. She often wears simple clothes, preferring t-shirts and jeans to anything fancy. Her one fashion love seems to be hair sticks and pins, and she has quite the collection of them. She's skinny and often wears men's shirts just for the logos. Lauren alternates between colored contacts and purple wire framed glasses. Though her ears are pierced, she rarely wears earrings.

History: Lauren grew up with her grandparents on a horse farm. There, she learned to ride and care for the horses and various other farm animals. She always had a particular fondness for the dogs that her grandparents kept, often strapping on her rollerskates and racing the dogs down the driveway. She had few friends, preferring the company of family and animals. She kept her grades high after learning that letting them slip meant a loss of riding privileges. Thus, she had her choice of colleges when she graduated high school. She instead opted for an apprenticeship on an animal rehabilitation ranch, where she had her first up close encounter with many wild creatures who were being nursed back to health or rescued from those who thought they could keep a wild thing as a pet. Her skills with the creatures, particularly predators, got the attention of one of the instructors at Prism University. Lauren resisted at first, but finally decided there were things she could learn from the Goddesses.

Personality: Lauren is quiet and tends to think more than speak. A loner, she cares little for fashion or reputation, instead turning her attentions to helping animals in need. The loner attitude does not extend to animals, and she surrounds herself with those who are recovering.
