She never had any close friends.
The only friend she had was her childhood friend that moved to the States for uni. Amira was always so distant as a child, and everyone thought of her as a loner. She didn't mind it because she enjoyed being alone for the most part, no one really bothered her. She was simply that weird girl that kept her nose in a book at all times, not caring for what everyone said about her.
Every winter she has grown up going to her grandmother's house before the holidays to help decorate. She would stay for a week to help bake cookies, wrap gifts, and go last minute shopping with her grandmother. A tradition that never got too old. She always loved the holidays because of the snow. Snow was her favorite thing to be in.
Her grandmother was always worried that she would never break out of her shell, but she was slowly trying to do just that even if it was hard for her to do.
