Great neutral place to meet, great place to moralize and establish ideal conditions and objectives for mankind as a collective, not a great place to set things into motion for individuals. For that, "we the people" is the beginning and end line to all social progress.
We're currently living in the greatest of human periods of history in many respects. We got this way through our sheer inventiveness and determination and compassion. If nothing else, it's good to remember that everything we've made started with one person... And that one person has been everything from prince to pauper, men and women, white and black, tall and short, young and old, remarkable and completely average.
We'll make it. We always have. And every individual person has that capacity to make a difference, they just have to get up and try. Even if that difference is small, just the slightest push can sometimes be enough to get things in motion.
