Pokemon: The Rise of Team Rocket

With the situation resolved and Grey not being in the best of talking moods, like usual when it came to Alex, the Gym Leader decided it was time to check up with the captain. The way to the bridge was definitely well secured. At every corner, even though well recognized, Alex was asked for his poke'mon league identification card. Once he finally got past security he made it to probably one of the best views on the ship. The bridge looked out over the deck where numerous poke'mon and their trainers were having fun and enjoying their own bit of scenery. "Hello Captain, how are things going?"
"Just about to get underway. Perhaps you'd like the honor of sounding the old girl off when it is time?"
" I would appreciate that Captain, nothing like trying something new." His Eevee agreed with him and jumped up by the controls. The Captain did not look too worried the Eevee was up there either because the buttons did nothing or because the Eevee really did look pretty harmless. Looking to the clock it was only a couple minutes from cast off time and then Champion's Day could get underway.

Meanwhile the St. Anne was beginning to move off of the dock and toward the open sea! It gave a long blare on its horn as multitudes of people waved from land. The well-wishers' shouts were carried far but it was difficult to say if the people on board heard any of it! Not that it mattered. Spirits were high and things were looking festive! There was a Pokemon beauty contest scheduled for today but for now one of the many decks was being entertained with a friendly match between two rival Pokemon trainers!

Both of them were teenagers, dressed in comfortable travelling clothes and standing across the deck from each other. The referee stood back. One of the teenagers, a boy named Richie had a Growlithe. "Growlithe, use Tackle attack!" The Growlithe barked once and then charged at the other Pokemon, a Jigglypuff. The Jigglypuff was knocked a few feet away.

"Jigglypuff, use Doubleslap!" the other boy, Carl, ordered.

Jigglypuff shook off its injuries and then attacked with Doubleslap! Richie was about to order his Growlithe to use another attack when a dark shadow fell over the ring! He looked up! "Look out!" Everyone else looked up to see what he was looking at and scattered! A giant Skarmory was landing!

Salih laughed. She loved using Fly! The Skarmory landed lightly on deck and she hugged Sky's neck. She felt like a kid again when they took off through the sky like that! She realized everyone was looking at her and regained her composure. Calm. Business. She jumped off of Sky after the Pokemon had deposited their things on the deck.

With the landing over Reis fell backwards to slide off the pokemon and land heavily on the deck. He had survived, he was on the Anna.

Leaving Salih to take care of the crew coming with their questions he looked up at the sky, smelled the salty air listened to the sound of a terrifies growlith and a gibbering jiglypuff. Then rising quickly he dashed to the rail and with a horrid retching sound fed the goldeens that were frolicking on the bows of the ship.

"We have to find another way to travel." he groaned before a few deep breaths brought stability back to his stomach.

The boat was under way! Ben and Stan were out on the deck, cheering and waving at the city folk as the St.Anne pulled away into the ocean. Champion's Day had started.

The sun was starting to get to Stan, so Ben decided to go the pool. Ben chose a pool less occupied by the others so that Stan wouldn't freak out over getting splashed. Diving into the water was a great relief from the suns heat. Surfacing, he looked over at Stan, who was swiping at the water from ground level. "Come on man, at least get into the shallow end." Stan huffed in response. Ben shot out of the water and shoved a flailing Mankey into the water, laughing. Stan floated there, looking irritated but not too bent up about it. They splashed at each other for a while and swam a couple laps back and forth across the pool, Ben did anyway, Stan splashed around the shallow end.

A big dark shadow darkened the pool for a moment. Every one looked up, it was a big metallic bird with luggage and passengers going to land on the ship. "That, is a big bird"

"Everything is green-lighted, boiler pressure normal, rudders at full capacity." The sailors said content that nothing went wrong.
"Good news, I'll be sure to mention this outstanding voyage to the poke'mon league when I get back." Alex said a smile on his face. Eve looked happy as well as it was her who blew the horn when the ship took off. "Come on Eve, we can finally relax on deck. I'm sure you want to spend some time in the water." Alex now took off again apparently on his endless mission to make sure everything was going well on the ship. While in the halls he pondered for a minute about Grey. 'I wonder if he's holding up well? A lot of pressure on a kid to become a Gym Leader. Not to mention he will have to face his little friend eventually.' He thought back to the friendly conversation Grey was having before his Eevee interrupted slightly. "Ah well, today we can kick back and relax!"

Buzzer squinted at the black-haired boy as he politely introduced himself as "Iggy" and then promptly left the room, taking his Pokémon with him, leaving Buzzer and his bugs all alone. Buzzer still had the chunk of stale vanilla cake in his hand, which the other trainer never even looked at. Iggy looks cool, but why's he so quiet? What's he hiding? Buzzer thought to himself. He walked over to Iggy's bed and casually dropped the cake on his pillow. So he can enjoy it later, he thought, with a grin. Wiping the crumbs off his hands, Buzzer let out a relaxed sigh, and finally took a moment to look around the cabin he was in.

Besides the two beds, there were two simple dressers, two wooden chairs with a small table, and a single porthole window in the room. The same hardwood panels from outside lined the floor and walls in their cabin, but it wasn't as elegantly designed as in the public areas of the ship. And no fridge, no TV and no snacks. Groaning with disappointment, Buzzer walked up to the solitary porthole, looking out into the open sea. He hadn't felt it, but apparently the ship was moving already. He watched the seashore drift slowly out of reach, the shady forests of the continent fading away into a foggy mist. Even if he jumped overboard now, he wouldn't be able to swim back to land, he realized. Everything here was sun, air and openness--but without the grass, dirt and shade that made those comfortable. Buzzer didn't like it one bit. He hugged his Weedle, Bebe, close to his chest, offering her a view of the sea through the porthole. She turned away from the sunlight languidly and curled up in Buzzer's arms.

Having bored himself with exploring the small, sparsely-furnished room, Buzzer turned towards the door. His Venonat was already there, hopping up and down in futile attempts to reach the doorknob. "You wanna see that Torchic again, don't you, Sprinkle?" Buzzer cooed, scooping her up and dropping her on top of his head. Wyndon the Ledyba, meanwhile, lay in bed on his back, snoring contentedly. Buzzer quietly opened the door and stepped out into the corridor, with Bebe in his arms and Sprinkle nestled in her favorite spot inside his hair. He closed the door behind him and followed the signs out to the sun-swept upper decks of the ship.

Pools, waterslides and jacuzzis created a miniature world of fun activities up here, and yet Buzzer felt exposed, lost and disoriented. He walked around the deck aimlessly, stealing half-eaten snacks from unattended tables and hiding them in his pockets. Finally, Sprinkle buzzed and squeaked excitedly, jumping out of his hair and leading him to Iggy, who was standing near the main pool with a concerned look on his face. As the Venonat sniffed Iggy's Torchic all over with her antennae again, Buzzer tilted his head and asked, "What'cha lookin' for, Iggy?"

"A one on one, hm?" She thought about it, looking over the menu and quickly ordering after the waiter showed up. She waited for Daniel to order as well before answering. "Sounds good~. How about your Quilava against my Houndour here?" Houndour's ears perked up as if listening, but for the most part he still appeared to be asleep. Venus watched the kitchen, eagerly waiting for lunch, and Haunter now hovered behind Verity, appearing a little transparent in the strong sunrays.

She looked to the shore line as the people waving to the St. Anne slowly moved further away. The ship was finally moving. How exciting! On top of that she over heard someone's conversation about a Skarmary landing somewhere on the ship, with two people riding on back. That meant the executives were onboard! She would have to be very alert from here on out if she wanted to impress them during this operation.

The pool itself was huge complete with all the trimmings a luxury ship would have but it was so artificial to Iggy, why didn't they just surf with their pokemon? The ocean was just as good but the slides did look like fun. Iggy shook his head and set down Tsunku, refocusing on looking for his sister. Tsunku chirped happily as he looked around, teetering towards the pool.

From somwhere behind him Iggy heard a buzzing noise and suddenly Tsunku was being sniffed by that venonat again. Iggy had an inkling as to what was going on there but didn't say anything.

"What'cha lookin' for, Iggy?" The boy, his roommate from before had found him. Iggy turned to face him, still keeping an eye on Tsunku.

"I'm looking for an...old friend. She was supposed to be on this ship." Iggy nodded, taking another look around the deck but directing his gaze back to the other trainer, "I don't think I know your name..." He was suddenly distracted by the woman with the skarmory landing on the deck. "Come look at this." He scooped up Torchic and stepped past the trainer and walked past a group of people and squeezed his way through the crowd to stand next to the woman. Something in his gut told him he knew her but from where was the question. Tsunku chirped quietly, looking up at Iggy and attempting to comfort him.

All around him he heard whispers of her being the gym leader of the Goldenrod Gym but she had been traveling for a long time. From the looks of it she used steel types too, something Tsunku and Ai would be able to handle no problem. He was never one to want a gym badge but something cried out for him to challenge her, but he didn't, at least not quite yet.

Grey wandered aimlessly, Crystal by his side padding amiably along. The sights were beautiful, festive, but he could not fully manage to cheer up. When Grey looked around, he realized he had managed to find himself on deck. A commotion, people laughing, there had been a battle and a pokemon had landed. Grey paused curiously, looking at his surroundings fully again instead of ambling about on autopilot.

"Hmm, come on Crys, back in the ball. I'm not in the mood to be challenged to a battle here..." he gave her one of his sad looks before she disappeared in a small flash into the unremarkable red and white ball. Grey's other pokemon had specially crafted luxury balls, but Crystal had the first pokeball he had ever held in his hand. The memories of the ball were too great to discard, and he was fairly certain that she felt the same way.

The hustle on deck was almost enough to make him turn around and go back to his room. Deciding against he, he at least needed one of his pokemon for comfort. The Cinnibar Island's gym leader was well known for his ninetails of unsurpassable beauty, but perhaps another pokemon. Sliding his hand to the third ball hanging at his hip, a ponyta appeared. Far more common, he reasoned. With a whinny, it trotted behind him until he found a quiet place. Jin folded down to the ground, tucking it head between its forelegs while Grey nestled against its warm body.

Sid continued to tremble in Iris's arms, emanating with a tremendous anxious tension. Iris was used to a rather intense emotional connection with her pokemon due to her predilection for psychic-types. It was not uncommon to be keener to a pokemon's feelings if they were psychic - this bond only grew over time between the pokemon and the trainer.

"Alright, I know what may calm you down," she told him, cradling him gently. The Psyduck looked up at her inquisitively, cocking his head to the side.

"Psy?"

"We happen to be amongst your element, dear little Psyduck. Look..."

She exited through large, glass doors, which led to the ship's deck. She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply, welcoming the deluge of fresh air, tinged with a bit of a sea salt. Clutching Sid tightly, she held him a bit over the railing so that he could get a view of the picture-esque sea. It truly was a sight - the cerulean sea danced with the wind, waves swelled and crested with opalescent foam, and each gem-like reflection shone for one fleeting moment each, a million winking eyes.

"Psyduck!" Sid's calmness washed through Iris, instilling her with a sense of peace and tranquility. She lowered her lips to the tuff of yellow hair on his head, giving him a tiny kiss.

While Sid found comfort in the sea, Iris noticed another trainer by her side. She was a young girl, although perhaps a year or two older than Iris, with short, light brown hair that matched the little Teddiursa who was commanding her attention at the moment. With her was also a Pichu and a Squirtle, the latter enjoying the ocean much like Sid was.

Well, it wouldn't do you any good to be a loner your whole stay here,
thought Iris.

"Hey there... seems both our water pokemon are enjoying the sea," she said, giving a tender smile at the Squirtle.

Shakira and Fleur had continued walking down the hallway until they found Shakira's room. Opening the door, she quickly closed it as she dropped off whatever excess stuff she didn't need before going back out, Fleur calmly following behind her now that her trainer was calm. Shakira walked up a set of stairs and ended up once again on the main deck where trainers and gym leaders, among other people were socializing. Bathed in the sun's warmth, and feeling the warmth of the people around her, Shakira couldn't help but smile, Fleur at ease as they walked along. The young lady felt like she would come across someone special on here.

The horizon seemed close, yet still ever far away for some reason. The energy of those around her and the setting sun, it seemed to make everything hazy, yet make everything shimmer at once. Her dark hair consumed the passionate orange beginning to burst forth in the sky, causing it to reflect the passion of the sunset. She just had to sit down and stare, taking in the beauty of the sea in late afternoon bloom. Is this what my parents wanted me to see? Shakira asked herself as she looked from her seat, placed near the railing so that nobody else could see her smiling face. Is this what they wanted me to hear? Shakira closed her eyes, the song of the waves chanting of the ethereal euphoria that the sunset gave those who would just stop and feel the world around them.

Fleur could feel it with her, the sea's ethereal yet eternal chanting. Shakira began to hum to herself, reciprocating what she heard. Shakira's first time at sea was consumed by the euphoric sunset, and the immortal horizon, showing her that she had to just stop and cherish what appeared as a mere everyday occurrence to most, for the one thng that she could see in this grand expanse was that which shined brightly if given a chance, not letting those who just took a simple glance discourage it.

Daniel quickly ordered a sandwich, not feeling particularly hungry, but thinking it rude to go with someone to go eat without actually ordering some sort of food. He looked around him, everyone seeming to have all the same fun that he was having, laughing and playing with other pokemon, some chasing theirs down while others with more tranquil pokemon just relaxed and enjoyed the serenity that came with spending time with someone of whom you had shared everything with. It was the same way he felt with Quilava. They had been together for what seemed an eternity, and could read each others emotions perfectly. Nevermind the fact that he couldn't tell how one Quilava differed from another when Daniel's Quilava spoke, it was all in the emotions that were revealed in the tone of voice and facial expressions that enabled him to speak the same language.

Turning to face Verity, who seemed to become prettier every time he looked at her, Daniel smiled, "My Quilava versus your Houndour, sounds like a good matchup to me." Daniel's eyes flitted from the face of Verity, of which he found pleasant to look at, to the semi-translucent body of Haunter, who was making faces as people passing by them, causing either shrieks of surprise or of laughter, and with some people it was hard to tell which one they were doing.

Salih had just finished up dealing with one of the crew and verifying who she and Reis were. She turned to her partner in crime and smirked. "You should be used to it by now." He knew she loved to fly. Of course, she was tempted to point out they would have taken the train if he had only woken up earlier. Oh well, she could bring that up another time.

"Welcome, Miss Salih. Welcome," the crew said again before he disappeared into the crowd. People were beginning to turn away and get back to their own business. Salih raised the Pokeball for Sky. "Return." The beam of red light shot out and the Skarmory disappeared. Salih flicked her hair over her shoulder and happened to notice Iggy standing there. The uniform screamed Pokemon Ranger. "Cute Torchic," she remarked casually. "Can I help you with something?"

There was something unnervingly familiar about the kid but she couldn't place it. Eh ... As long as he didn't start drooling or frothing at the mouth like the last boy who'd taken to following her around everywhere, things should be fine.

The commotion got Ben's attention. "Let's go see, Stan." The Mankey grunted and climbed onto Ben's shoulder as he climbed out of the pool. With a towel around his neck Ben walked to the deck where the Skarmory landed. A crowd had formed. Ben could tell the owner of the bird was the lady, he didn't know who the other guy was though. Through the murmuring he found out that the lady was the Goldenrod City gym leader. She was quite beautiful, but there was something...more there. He knew these two were important in some way other than being gym leader related, he couldn't tell how so the thought left his mind.

Ben turned around, losing interest. "Come on Stan, lets do some laps with the Swimmers."

As the Skarmory disappeared Ries pushed himself off of the railing and walked back towards Salih to stand next to her, Igor pulling on his sleeve intill he lifter the pokemon onto his shoulders.

"Oh um....." he said patting himself down as the crewman tapped a pen against his clipboard. "Here, our tickets." he said pulling two tickets from his breast pocket and handing the over.

"Ok your cabin is on the 4th deck , number 413." the crewman said pointing with his pen.

Iggy stood in awe of the woman, he was sure by now he was staring, but he couldn't help it, there was just something so...familiar about her. As she turned to look at him he felt like his heart would skip a beat.

"Cute Torchic. Can I help you with something?" The woman said and Iggy nodded, swallowing his pride. He knew what he had to do and he was going to do it.

"You're a gym leader right...? I...um..." He was having trouble speaking up but somewhere he mustered the courage and shouted, "I CHALLENGE YOU TO A BATTLE! One on one, two pokemon each! Right over there next to the pool!" Iggy pointed directly at her, "And don't bother refusing because as a gym leader you can't!"

Tsunku hopped out of Iggy's hands and stood next to him, puffing himself up, "Toooooooor CHIC!"

Aurelia Hikariko

Aurelia turned to see the pretty trainer and her Psyduck and her eyes widened in excitement, "Ah, your psyduck is adorable!" she exclaimed, looking at closely. Pichuu-chan, still on her head, leaned forward and poked Psyduck's head with it's tail and Aurelia immediately flicked it's cheek, "Hey, don't poke it, Pichuu-chan, that's rude!" Aurelia told her pichuu with a smile. Pichuu-chan responded with a 'hmph' sort of sound and crossed its arms authoritatively, as if it knew better than it's trainer. Of course, it was just pretending, because moments later, when Squirtle shot a small stream of water at it's face in response, Pichu burst into defensive squeals. Aurelia giggled and smiled at Iris,

"Yes, they are! The ocean water is really pretty. As soon as I saw it, I knew Squirtle would never leave the railing," she grinned, looking over at Aoi-kun, who was completely enraptured with watching the water, eyes wide and twinkling.

Teddiursa, still in her arms, tapped Aurelia's cheek twice with it's paw and pointed to itself quietly. Aurelia looked down at her and smiled sheepishly, pushing some of her bangs out of her face and looked to Iris, "Aha, of course. This is Ringo-chan, she wants me to introduce her. And I'm Aurelia, I'm from Cinnabar Island. It's nice to meet you!" she exclaimed cheerfully, tilting her head to one side.

Verity ordered a small plate of spaghetti, a messy dish but she ate it gracefully. Her pokemon enjoyed their indivisual plates of food. Venus ate just as gracefully, they were obviously close. Every bite Haunter took mysteriously disappeared in his translucent body, and Houndour woke at the scent of food. She ate pretty quickly, and washed it all down with a delicious raspberry lemonade.

"Ah~ That was good!" She said as he set her glass down. She waited for her pokemon and her acquaintance to finish eating before waving for the check. It was only then that she realized she didn't know the guy's name. "Oh, I don't believe I've asked for your name yet."

Kisa arrived at the dock just in time to see the boat begin its departure, waving frantically at the ship, to no effect. She looked at her partner Poke'mon Gardevoir, and at the ship.

"You think we can make it, Reda?"

Reda stared into Kisa's eyes, giving her the message.

"Right then....Okay, use Teleport!"

She quickly grabbed Reda's hand, and the two of them disappeared, their boddies splitting into beams of light. Within the span of a second or two, they reappeared on the inside of the luxurious S.S. Anne, amazed by their surroundings. There was excessive shows of grandeur in this ship, and it made Kisa feel proud that she had recieved a ticket.

"Wow...It's all so..."

"Miss, may I see your tickets?"

There had apparently been a ticket checker in the vicinity. Then again, a person and a Poke'mon appearing out of thin air wasn't exactly hard to miss.
Kisa dug in a small bag on her back, rummaging around it for her tickets.
"Wait, they're in here, right? Oh no....They were right in here!"

Reda emitted an echoing noise, calming Kisa down as she zipped up the bag and reached in her pockets, finding the tickets with no problem.

"Eheheh...Thanks, Reda."
Kisa hugged her Poke'mon, and began to take in the sights around her.

Salih blinked when the boy, after trying to stammer, suddenly found conviction. Then she smirked and tossed her hair over her shoulder. "A battle, huh? Oh, don't worry. I have no intentions on backing down. But it's rude of you to want to battle when I just got on board. You're just lucky I'm in a good mood." She turned to Ries. "It looks like I'll have to catch up to you. Think you can handle things without me?" She asked him with a wink. Now that they were out of Goldenrod and on the St. Anne, she was in a good mood and she was feeling playful, which was rare.
