  • Welcome, to Theralune.

  • w06iwz.jpg
Theralune has long been a nation of relative peace. Civil war, rebellion, and crime plague its past, as for any nation, but no great calamities have tarnished its history. However, rumors have been spreading of curious experiments taking place on the northern island of Komiir, home of the ever-tinkering gnomes. They say they've been experimenting with genetic mutations in pokemon, working to create a powerful force to aid in the advancement of Theralune. Unfortunately, the gnomes were not prepared to control what they created and now, word spreads of a mighty beasts ravaging the lands, growing, feeding, and reproducing. It is not yet known what this creature is, but the king of the gnomes has summoned the greatest heroes from across the lands to combine their efforts into tracking it down, and defeating it. There's loot in it for all, but more than that, the threat, if left unmanaged, could mean destruction for all.

    2cxjc6c.jpg

In an adventure of pokemon, high fantasy, and table-top feels, you and your team will work together to stop this mutated beast from overrunning the lands. Play as an elf, a dwarf, a human, or a gnome, and venture out into a world filled with pokemon to track down the mutant and talk some sense into the pesky, meddling royal gnome tinkerers. This isn't a gym-based story, nor is it a classic ten-year-old-on-a-journey tale. No, this is a grand, fantasic adventure. Our story begins, in a tavern, as all the best do.

  • 2uhsphs.jpg

Combat is based on a simple level system explained below:
    • Common pokemon can level up to level 10.
    • Rare pokemon can level up to level 15
    • Legendaries can level up to level 20
    • Type advantages add +2 levels to any pokemon, for that battle
    • Type disadvantages remove -2 levels from any pokemon for that battle
Any pokemon can enter into a battle with a pokemon up to 1 level above it, once all calculations have been done. There are three tiers of battle: easy, medium, and hard. This will be explained using a lvl 5 fire type.
    • Easy: Pokemon BELOW your pokemon's level (ex: =/<4, with advantage, =/<6)
    • Medium: Pokemon at an EQUAL level to your pokemon's (ex: =5, with advantage =7)
    • Hard: Pokemon ONE LEVEL ABOVE your pokemon's. (ex: =/>6, with advantage, =/>8)
In each battle, the difficulty will indicate which roll you need to be successful. Required rolls are as follows:
    • Easy: =/>5 on d20
    • Medium: =/> 10 on d20
    • Hard: =/>15 on d20
To go after pokemon of higher levels, such as legendaries, you will need to utilize a teamwork method called "Stacking." This means you utilize numerous pokemon of the same level to gain additional levels for each. For example:
    • Facing a level 15 Legendary with a level 10, no advantage.
      • For each additional level 10, each pokemon gains 1 extra level
      • 1 x lvl 10 + 3 x lvl 10 = +3 levels to each = 4 x lvl 14 pokemon (DOABLE!)
If numerous players take part in a battle, a loot roll will determine who the pokemon decides to trust. The loot roll will only be preformed by GM's.

  • 2rem9h2.jpg
At the beginning of the roleplay, each player may bring with them up to two pokemon. All additional pokemon will be kept at home and may be transferred whenever they so choose, but these transferred pokemon are subject to travel time, leaving the player with a one pokemon deficit for the time of the exchange. As they advance as rangers, players maximum party size will increase.

Pokemon have up to three evolutions. Those with only two are considered "common pokemon" and evolve at level 5. Pokemon with three evolutions are considered rare pokemon and they evolve at levels 5 and 10. Legendary pokemon do not evolve.
Common: Max lvl: 10, evolves at lvl 5
Rare: Max lvl: 15, evolves at lvl 5 and lvl 10
Legendary: Max lvl: 20, does not evolve

    RANGER ABILITY
Ranger ability determines the capability of each player as a companion to the pokemon. A ranger with a low ability level won't be trusted or seen as worthy by higher level pokemon. Ranger ability is increased throughout the roleplay via "Ranger Ability Events" which allow the potential of the ranger to increase. If a ranger has a pokemon companion trying to level, the level will be held dormant until the ranger can increase his or her ability. This means that if you cannot increase your ranger ability, you will not lose pokemon levels.
    • RA 1 = pkmn 2
    • RA 2 = pkmn 4
    • RA 3 = pkmn 6
    • RA 4 = pkmn 8
    • RA 5 = pkmn 10
    • RA 6 = pkmn 12
    • RA 7 = pkmn 14
    • RA 8 = pkmn 16
    • RA 9 = pkmn 18
    • RA 10 = pkmn 20
Each pokemon will begin with FOUR moves in their moveset. At level 5, they gain an additional move, and continue to do so until their peak level, with the exception of gaining two moves at levels 10, 15, and 20.

No mega evolutions and a baby Pokemon just counts as a standard stage. I think we'll allow for Pokemon like pikachu to be counted as a two stage, if you choose to start with him. If you choose to start with pichu, it's a three stage.

Yay interest! *is at work, will be around later* :)

Also, @Mowkie I don't think we need to limit Pokemon or make rules against duplicates. In a realistic situation these Pokemon would be common, they are popular after all :)

A few questions before firing up the CS.

If Feldren is the realm of humans, can I ask what Komiir is the land of? Also I should PM a GM about a village idea instead of posting it in here correct?

You can post it here or PM one or both of us.

Komiir Island is the home of the gnomes! :3

It's always nice to sit back and just play after being GM for so long. Glad we can give you something that piques your interest enough to do so. <3

Definitely interested, I'll chart up a character sheet. Should be interesting considering I've DM'd more than I've played.
Dude. I know that feel. I don't think I've ever been a player for more than a few days. The RP's usually die or I lose interest :|

Yay! I'm glad you guys decided to join(: Now we can write together again. Working on my sheet, I'd like to say it'll be done tonight.

quick, very technical question, do dwarves, elves, and gnomes age like their traditional counter parts, or is it different?

I do desire a Jolteon so that it can Magnet Rise the hell out of everything...

... is Larvesta or Togepi considered 'rare'?

We've decided to limit the ages of the races...100 years for humans and gnomes, 150 years for dwarves, and 200 years for elves. Anyone who has made it over 100 years, even dwarves and elves, become quite brittle, though, so they often stay home in safety.

As for the Pokemon, we're keeping to the one evolution rule for common pokemon. So Larvesta would be perfectly fine. However, Togepi has three total phases (two evolutions), so you won't be able to start with that one.

*nabs this spot for my CS until I can get around to finishing it*

A humble rancher from the depths of the Myria woods, Evelyn and her family have long tended to the lands. Several hives of combee provide honey, gogoats offer fresh milk for butter and cheese, and sawsbuck herds are raised for their pelts and meat. The Saelels and a few other elven families have flourished in these woods for many hundreds of years. It is their home, their livelihood, and their most precious, sacred center. Evelyn has loved the heartlands of her people her entire life and when the threat of a mutant breed of pokemon arrived in the rumors of her small homestead, she left her beloved home to try and protect what she loved most.
287i2x2.jpg

n3ngo0.jpg

| Humble |
Coming from the lifestyle she does, it would be impossible for Eve to be anything but humble. She was raised to appreciate anything and everything she received, to earn what she could, to pay respect to all life, and to be most gracious for any kindness and/or hospitality shown towards her.

| Down to Earth |
Her roots have given her a passion for the rustic, modest life so common of woodland elves. She needs very little to survive and desires little beyond the most important emotionally fulfilling things in life. The greedy sicken her and those who dwell on the material are the most challenging for her to get along with.

| Brave |
Living in the woods, no matter how tame the area may be, is no walk in the park. The woodland elves are among the bravest of their kind, facing danger and hardship almost daily, many are forced to do the difficult from very young ages. After years spent scaring wild mightyena and persians away from her family's herds and countless hours wandering the dark woods in search of lost deerling, she has become quite the brave, young elf.

| Inquisitive |
By nature or by nurture, Evelyn wonders endlessly about the world around her. After all, it is not through ignorance that one learns to thrive off the land. She wonders often and wonders aloud, ever thirsting for knowledge and wisdoms not yet discovered.

| Kind |
Above all else, she has learned that kindness is the most valuable thing in the world. Kindness can destroy barriers, build trust, and create lasting relationships that truly enhance and fulfill the lives of many.

igm0dh.jpg

Born and raised in the woodland regions to the south-east of the Myria capital, Evelyn has known nothing but the lands that surround her. On her homestead, she lives with her mother, father, older sister, and younger brother. Three other families live within a mile of the heart of the stead and all four families work together to nurture the land and reap its bounty. Though she was born into the life of a woodland rancher, she began taking part in the daily chores at the age of 5, learning to tend to the herds alongside her parents and collecting honey when the combees had prepared enough.

The family had a small herd of deerling and sawsbuck which they regularly bred and slaughtered for meat, skins, and other resources, giving her a good understanding of the process of life and death from a very young age. Her parents also kept several dozen Gogoat and Skidoo, which they milked to make rich butters and cheese that sold all across Myria for its flavor and nutrition. They kept combees to harvest their honey and wax for treating their leathers, flocks of ducklett and swanna gave them pokemon eggs which they would consume or sell. Even spinarak and wurmple were kept for the silk they produced. The Saelels and their neighboring woodland elves truly lived off the land, never buying a thing from the cities or really leaving their precious homestead. They did well for themselves and Evelyn certainly grew up to be a well-rounded, self-sufficient, intelligent, and capable elf. She took pride in this as a child, especially during the family's rare trips to the city to sell their wares. Seeing all the incompetent, foolish elves from the large cities drew pity from the depths of her heart, for she felt their disconnect from the wilds.

In her youth, she was, of course, expected to be a contributing member of the family and was truly inducted into the ranks of the workers when her father brought her home an eevee, one day. Each of the Saelel's had one, save for her younger brother, and all the elder eevees had evolved into wonderful pokemon that helped out on the farmland. Her mother's vaporeon helped her water the crops day by day, her sister's jolten worked as a herder at her side, and her father's Sylveon instilled joy and calmness into their livestock, allowing them to rear a much higher quality of product than normal. The eevee, whom Evelyn had named Faera, was a charming little female kit and as their days of work and play bore on, they grew very close.

Evelyn had always been the most passionate of the three Saelel children, always caring most deeply for the wellbeing of the herds and flocks, always worrying the most over lost deerling or ill duckletts. When the rumors began to spread that the gnomes had created something terrible and lost control of it, Evelyn certainly felt a level of fear, knowing nothing about the strange tinkerings and machines the gnomes made, but she did nothing. It wasn't until word came that the mutant pokemon were being seen as such a dire threat that the rulers of each of the great capitals had begun summoning heroes to try and aid in the issue at hand that Evelyn felt a powerful sense of duty. She loved the lands of her people dearly and feared what might happen if they were ravaged by these mutants. She made it her personal responsibility to play her part in the great quest to defeat the mutants and deal with the ever-tinkering gnomes in the north.

And so, she head north, leaving her lands for the first time, bringing on her companion with her to protect her and keep her from getting homesick. Along the way, she came across an injured Zorua, struggling to get by. She took pity on the poor thing and tended to its wounds, quickly earning its trust and when the time came for her to move along, she found that the little pokemon had begun following her. The rest of the way, it remained at her side and effectively established itself as her second travelling companion. It was one cool evening that she found herself in a noisy tavern, sitting alone at a table with her Zorua and Eevee at her side, sipping on a chalice of oak wine.
315gbba.jpg

| Survivalism |
This is more of an innate ability in woodland elves than much else. She never struggles to find water, food, or shelter in the wild.

| Archery |
Basic archery is a requirement of all woodland elves for it is necessary to defend one's herd from harm, preferably without getting too close to harm oneself in the process. Evelyn has been practicing archery since she was ten years old and has no difficulty hitting her target. However, at this time, she lacks a bow, having broken her own a few days ago.

| Pokemon Empathy |
Coming from her background of working closely with the lands and the pokemon that live within them, she's developed incredible skill at reading, befriending, and calming pokemon. She navigates encounters with wild pokemon exceptionally well and rarely struggles to understand what a pokemon is trying to say.

| Mount Expertise |
As a rancher, Evelyn has spent more than her fair share of time atop a mount of one kind or another. While her preference is a sawsbuck, she's comfortable on anything that isn't too big to intimidate her.

| Woodland Flora & Fauna Wisdom |
Spending one's entire life in the outdoors has led her to become a bit of a walking pokemon database. She knows woodland species of pokemon like the back of her hand and has much experience with the flora of the woodland regions.

29ne0ic.jpg

| Brave |
As explained, life in the woods breeds bravery. She has become capable of facing her fears, even if it takes its toll on her. Evelyan can be expected to do great things when the time comes, but she may pay for it later in new fears and mistrusts.

| Flexible/Nimble |
Due in part to her race and her lifestyle, it goes without saying that Evelyn can maneuver the most difficult terrain with ease and holds a level of flexibility that makes it hard to tip or trip her. Up trees, down rocky cliffs, across slippery river paths, she is difficult to knock off her feet.

| At Peace with Nature |
Beyond her fears of the massive beasts of the outside world, she fears very little. Nothing from angry pokemon to dangerous storms to death disturbs her, for she is wholly, truly at peace with the wilds.

| Intelligent |
Quite simply, she has a good head on her shoulders and picks up on things often. As inquisitive as she is, she's gained much knowledge in her half a century and is considered above average in her intelligence.

slk605.jpg

| Wild |
Evelyn has spent a few hours in the city, at best. She is horribly awkward around the urban centers of the world and knows little about manners, currency, and higher living. This stands as a great weakness, making it almost impossible for her to blend in to any city setting, even in Elvish cities.

| Weaponless |
While proficient with a bow, any close range combat is completely out of the question for Evelyn. Certainly her companions protect her, but if put in a situation of having to defend herself one on one, she likely won't come out victorious.

| Fear of Massive Pokemon |
Living in the woods has made her oblivious to the sheers size of pokemon that thrive in the mountains and on the plains. Massive pokemon like the mighty dragons, onix, steelix, and other massive pokemon are frightening to her.

| Sheltered |
While most elves her age have the benefit of travel experience, she has had no such luck. She has remained in Myria her entire life and knows little beyond her homestead, the surrounding woods, and the route to the capital.

| Indecisive |
This issue comes from her upbrining. Her mother preached kindness, her father hardword, her cousins honesty, and her grandparents asserted the importance of integrity. But what happens when one must make a difficult ethical decision? Her family's impact on her morals have left her with a difficult time making decisions in stressful situations -- and stressful, to her, is not an encounter with a dark pokemon in the woods, but rather the kinds of encounters that happen on uncertain adventures in uncertain places.

Human Male | 22 | Second Prince of Feldran
Basic Information
[dash=#C0C0C0]

Alias
Known as the War Prince, Battleborn Prince, and, more famously, The Wolf of War by his soldiers, comrades, and enemies

Known as Jude by his parents, siblings, and close friends
Birthday
Born January 13th | Capricorn

Hometown
Kondumar
[/dash]
Appearance
[dash=#C0C0C0]

Eyes
Dark Brown

Hair
Dark Brown

Height
6' (183 cm)

Weight
205 lb (93 kg)
His head is covered with messy, dark curls that often shine with sweat and fall neatly to broad shoulders, framing a round, young-looking face that would even be considered a "baby face" were it not for the harsh scars on his left cheek and forehead. Deep brown eyes the color of spiced rum stare in a constantly harsh gaze. A short, somewhat rounded nose stops just above thin, fair lips seemingly plastered in a permanent frown. To finish it off, this man is almost never clean-shaven, instead keeping a well-groomed beard that remains quite short at all times. Few who look upon him know what to think about him on the start. He holds himself with a posture that states he is proud of who he is, a commanding presence in any room, yet those eyes hold a story of inner turmoil, loss, and anger.

He is on the leaner side, stout in upper body and slightly heavy for his 6' frame. His body is littered with scars, particularly his back, shoulders, and chest. The most noticeable mark on him, however, is a massive tattoo that covers the left side of his chest and reaches up to his shoulder. This tattoo is of the royal family crest, and it's obvious that this was done many years ago, for the dark ink has faded with time.

Personality
[dash=#C0C0C0]

Well-Mannered || Polite || Gracious
Knowing the ins and outs of the courts is second nature to a prince, even the battle-born prince such as Judas. He is well-versed in the art of how to treat a lady of the court, and he never steps out of line. His tongue is as disciplined as his body, and he never falters to use the most polite speech when in the presence of another. It is sometimes difficult for him to leave this politeness behind, and it has often bothered his comrades. However, over the years, he has learned to loosen up only when around them, and they have learned to take his gracious ways in stride. To a certain degree, they respect the prince for his attitude and style.

Responsible || Trustworthy || Disciplined
Whether it is in his training regiment, his schooling, or his basic principles, Judas is a very responsible sort. He can be deemed overly serious at times, and it is rare to see the man smile. However, he is an ear that is always there to listen, and he takes any and all secrets to the grave. Of course, the only ones who have ever come to find this out are his men and his teachers. If something is asked of him, and it is within his morals, he will do so. If it is within his duty, it will be done. Only recently has he begun to truly question the ethical nature of his orders and decided it best to start thinking for himself. Perhaps this is dangerous...then again, perhaps not.

Restrained || Judicious || Sensible
Like in his training and in the teachings he was raised on, Judas has grown into a very sensible man with a mind that thinks things through before acting on his own accord. While he is very good at following orders, he has the mind he needs to also be a great leader. He restrains his words when necessary and often only remarks when he has had time to truly ponder over ideas. It is because of his thoughtfulness that many of the military leaders that still sit above him in rank come to him with questions on an upcoming or possible battle. His mind is a tactician, and he is very good at working his way through any strategy. However, around those he is unfamiliar with, he isn't quite as...smooth a thinker.

Secretive || Reserved || Reticent
While he does not mean to be a secretive soul, nor does he truly have very many secrets, Judas is a very reserved man. He does not speak out against another, particularly if that person outranks him. This includes his older brother, the king, and the military generals that still sit higher than he does. He holds a great deal of respect for the pecking order, and while he may speak quietly to his younger brother about his antics, he will never out them for anything. This is both out of respect and love for the young men that he has grown up with. However, his restrained habits have become so much so that he has trouble speaking his mind to his closest friends, much less strangers. Due to this, most people know little about the second oldest prince of Feldran.

Conscious || Mindful || Regardful
Being a very aware soul can be the difference between life and death. Judas is always aware of his surroundings, and while he may seem quite cool and calm on the outside, he is always setting up escape routes and ways out of danger if need be. This is one of the largest reasons as to why he does not like walls or enclosed spaces. He is aware of how he appears to others as well, which is why he maintains his grooming even on the battlefield. If this means he is clipping his beard between blood-spattering battles, then so be it. The greatest downside to being so self-aware, however, is that Jude very honestly sees himself as a monster, even if no one realizes this aspect about him.

Likes
  • Pokemon – Whether it is a predator or prey, Jude has a particular love for Pokemon of all sorts. He finds the simplistic nature of beasts to be a comfort that he cannot find in the complicated hearts of men. He can oft be found in courtyards or streets of Kondumar with many of the strays and wanderers. His only exception to this is fire types, as he has an immense fear of fire.
  • Water – Be it a rainy day, the waterfall nearby, or the simple morning splash, water has a cooling effect that Jude can't seem to find in many other things. Water washes away the blood and sorrow of battles won and lost, the corruption of dark souls, and the decay and waste of nature. If it is raining, Jude can certainly be found outside training or riding his prized stallion.
  • Silence – The silence of the mouth can oft bring the silence of the mind. With silence comes serenity and thoughtfulness, giving one time to ponder over life's biggest mysteries. Jude is a brooding man by nature, and he can quite often be spotted sitting and taking in the silence, almost in a meditative state.
  • Moonlight – Moonlight is both a gift and a curse, washing the world with its brilliant, silver glow. It is gentler than the light of the sun, but it still grants enough light to see in the darkness of night. Jude enjoys the light of the moon, as it reminds him of all the nights away from home and away from the politics of being royalty.
  • Training – A strict training regiment is key to discipline, both in war an in everyday life. Training strengthens the body, the mind, and the spirit. Being a military leader, one must train hard and often, especially if one hopes to become the leader of the entire military force. If Jude is not out with his horse, he can quite often be spotted on the training grounds, working up a sweat with his soldiers.
  • Nature – Nature provides what man cannot. Jude has come to learn and cherish this fact, as it has saved his life and the lives of his men countless times. Be it herbs or simple foliage, a necessary rainy or sunny day, nature has always provided. A breath of fresh air is always better than the thick walls of his castle home.
Dislikes
  • Politics – Jude is a military man by many means, but he lacks a great skill in politics. In fact, he hates most politics, as they are the reason for war and suffering. At the same time, he understands that politics can be a necessary evil, so long as he does not have to partake in such things.
  • Death – There is no greater loss than the loss of a soul. The death of men is hard, the death of women and children harder. He can kill a simple beast, for he knows that the body will be put to great use, but he does not enjoy the death of men. Like politics, however, he understands that death is a necessary evil. Only, this evil is that which he must partake in.
  • Mischief – Discipline is something Jude takes very seriously, and acts of mischief outside of the manners that were taught to him since he could understand words are not tolerated very well by him. This is especially true when it comes to those of the court, particularly his brothers. He's been known to get quite angry at times over it.
  • Walls – The confinement of walls have bothered Judas since he was a small boy, always enjoying the fresh air and open skies presented to him outside of the castle. He finds walls to be imprisoning, making him feel slightly claustrophobic. This is something that bothers the young prince so much that when in the field, he sleeps beneath the stars with many of his men instead of the tent usually used for military leaders.
  • "Fine" Clothes – Like thick walls, the clothes that are typically worn by the princes are stifling and even quite itchy. Jude much prefers the soft leathers of his armor and riding attire, and he is very rarely seen in anything else. In fact, this prince hates silks and satins so much that he has been caught by many a maid naked in bed instead of wearing the usual bed attire. Unfortunately for the maids, this has resulted in some being let go due to unnecessary advances.

Hobbies
  • Cello - Perhaps because of its melancholy sound, or maybe because it was the first instrument he learned to play, Judas finds great solace in playing the cello. One of his favorite pastimes is playing its sweet, sad music for his mother whenever she's feeling down.
  • Reading - On the ever-rare occasion, Judas likes to take a day to spend in the library. When not sneaking away to give to the poor, he likes to learn of faraway places and things that have nothing to do with war. Other times, he can be found reading books on tactics and strategy and the ever-occasional book on magic...to get a better feel for his enemies.
Fears
  • Fire – In his life, he has seen great devastation caused by massive magical flames. Hundreds, even thousands of people giving their dying screams as the flames burned them alive. Now, every time he sees even a small campfire, he is reminded of those screams, even if he does not bear any of the physical scars of such traumas.
  • His Father – A prince must always know his place, as his father quite often reminds him. While he does not dislike the king, he fears some of the man's ideals. His father is a very political man, who has seen war only on the side. For Judas, who lives and breathes war, this is something to be very afraid of.
  • Love – Judas has never turned his eye towards a woman, nor does he ever intend to, despite the many wishes of his father and even his mother. What he does not explain is that he is afraid to give his heart to someone and then lose them. What he fears even more is taking the heart of a soft, gentle woman only to rip it out by dying in battle.

Secrets
"Sometimes, the world does not need a hero. Sometimes, it needs a monster."
Judas whole-heartedly considers himself a monster by all means. Having killed many men in his time, the battle-born prince knows the evil of war. While he does not revel in it like many others, he knows that it is a necessary evil. He sees his being a monster a necessary sacrifice so that his brothers do not have to endure the same fate.
"Self-absorption in all its forms kills empathy, let alone compassion."
Despite being a prince, Judas finds the entire royalty thing to be quite overrated. He sees himself and those of the court to be posh and over-dramatic, but he plays the part nonetheless. In his free time, however, he does his very best to sneak away so that he might give some goodness back to the world. Whether it is in the form of bread, money, or simple entertainment, Judas secretly takes solace in the fact that he can give a bit back to the world...to better make up for all that he has taken away.

"Love is live. If you miss love, you miss life."
Despite his enduring fear, Judas secretly wishes for someone to see all of him and love him despite it. He wants to see himself as something more than the monster he sees himself as now. Though he does not put his eyes towards love, he always hopes that, one day, it will find him like all the stories have said. Add this to the fact that his brothers quite often tease him in their thoughts that he sleeps around, despite the fact that he has never slept with a woman, and it drags this secret deeper into his heart.

Brief History
[dash=#C0C0C0]

Born in the depths of one of the coldest winters in Feldran was the dark-haired second babe of the king. Like many generations before him, this child's fate was set before him the moment he was declared a boy. For the first years of his life, while he learned to walk and to talk, he was allowed to stay near his mother's side, which he had clung to heavily. He was a quiet boy from the beginning, preferring the peace of the gardens to the ruckus of his three brothers and his father.

When he was finally steady on his feet, around the age of three, he was handed over to the young General Dumont, a hardy man who would live long enough to teach the boy through his many years of life. The General was already battle-hardened and did not pity the young prince for the duty that he had to fulfill. He was given full right to beat the boy if he did not obey or perform to the trainer's expectations. In the beginning, this meant a great deal of beatings. The General had come to hate royalty for their posh and self-absorbed attitudes, sitting on their high-horses and looking down their noses at each other while the soldiers fought and died for their petty whims. At first, the lad born to the king was nothing more than a puny prince - an ant that he could take his frustrations out on.

But Judas was not a violent boy. He did not enjoy learning how to do harm, and he certainly did not like learning how to kill. For the first few years, this meant a great deal of beatings. But as the years passed, he worked harder and harder, knowing that his fate had been sealed. He grew to enjoy the training regiments, and even moreso, he enjoyed the beatings, for they were a constant reminder of the monster that he would one day become. As time went by, however, the beatings came less and less, as General Dumont finally came to realize that this prince was not like the posh court members. This boy, who fled at the sight of court officials. The boy who could not lie to save his life, but could hold a secret by simply not speaking and holding his resolve. The boy who took every crack of a whip or cane silently and without complaint. Before the soldier's very eyes, the boy was very quickly becoming a man.

Scars would form from welps that did not heal, and before he even had his first taste of battle, the young prince had a back littered with them. Still, he did not complain. Instead, he would ask for the harsh, grueling training, taking enjoyment out of it. The lessons grew longer every day, taking in more art-forms besides the simple sword and shield. He also learned how to command pokemon. On his tenth birthday, he was gifted with a tiny Absol by the harsh General to teach him responsibility and fierceness.

When he was not training, he was learning how to read and write. He learned philosophy, history, and mathematics. At first, he was given an art teacher who attempted to teach him how to paint. However, it became clear quite quickly that this would not do, so instead the queen offered to send for a music teacher. Upon this request, the boy learned surprisingly fast the art of the stringed instrument, the cello becoming his greatest feat. Other instruments were introduced as time passed, but he would quite often offer to play the cello for his mother when she was feeling down.

As he grew older, his relationship with the young Absol, who he named Zandara, became closer than any relationship he had. She never left his side, and there were many times she would attack General Dumont when his training was a little harsher than usual. She taught Judas how to be fierce and brave, and he took her example with every step he made. They became completely inseparable, and though her stubborness kept her from rising quickly into power, she would be his greatest asset and his dearest of friends in the years to come.

Judas never stopped training. He never stopped striving to learn. All that was taught to him, he took willingly and even somewhat eagerly. His resolve was something that many soldiers had come to respect, and when the boy finally turned sixteen, a ripe age for war, he was sent by the king on his first trip to the battlefield.

War in Feldran often came as consequence of the misunderstandings of other races. Humans were considered brutish and naive by many other races, and their desire to take often led to unnecessary war. Jude's father, the king, as no different from these descriptions, and as such the boy's first battle came into Myria like a storm. It had been raging for many weeks now, and it was only a matter of time before the new General in Training came down to look over the forces he would one-day command.

The Rapidash he sat upon came to a slow, steady stop as he patted the beast and slid from its back, taking in the sight of the grueling battle before him. Blood stained the grass and trees, the bodies of elves and men scattered all about. Fear threatened to overwhelm him, anger swelling in his chest at the knowledge that his father had ordered such needless slaughter. What was left of the men were just within sight, their tents shielding them from the scene as they slowly gathered the wounded and tended them. As he came to this camp, he walked through the groaning and moaning, taking in the sight and letting his anger overwhelm his fear.

Within a week, all of his men were sent home, and he sent an official apology to the elves that called the forests of Myria home. Sadly, this was not enough, as only a month after they pulled back did the elves retaliate, attacking the military camps in the mountains near Kondumar. At this time, Jude was there to learn how a camp should look and make the corrections to the forces that needed them. This would be the beginning of an ongoing nightmare that would haunt the young prince for years and years to come.

He couldn't necessarily recall how many fire-type pokemon it would take to make such a massive wall through the mountain pass, nor would he care to relive the memory to think on it. All he could say about it was the sound of hissing and whooshing as it came upon the tents and burned hundreds of men alive. The screams were enough to leave him broken, but it was the sight of the flames that truly created a monster within him. As they dissipated, he once more allowed his anger to take hold, forcing himself to face his sudden fear and fight back.

Many elves died that day. Many more men did as well. In the end, a surrender was made by the elf leaders, and they agreed to sign a treaty with the humans to stop the endless nonsense that had been started. Many stories were told by the men who had survived to watch the Battleborn Prince fight his first true war. Some say he singlehandedly took out the entirety of the elvin forces that day. Others say his Absol grew to the size of a mountain and wiped them all out. Of course, these stories are preposterous, but Judas says nothing as to whether or not there is even an inkling of truth in them.

To this day, his fear of fire remains. While he has fought many more battles in his time, he is forever scarred by his first experience of war. As such, he cannot even look at the same Rapidash that had carried him to the first scene of his life as a warrior. He cannot fathom being near even a minute flame, much less a pokemon capable of creating such destruction with fire.

His mother did try to make him feel better. His last birthday resulted in a little male Eevee who grew surprisingly fond of him. The softness of this little creature has made him somewhat more easy to handle. But at the same time, he is still the distant and disturbed prince who never seems to be in the castle when his father deems it necessary. It's only a matter of time before he disappears to truly find himself and possibly face his fears once and for all.

The most recent sighting of the prince was at the best tavern in Kondumar, sitting in a corner with a pint in his hand and a cloak attempting to hide his features.

Attributes
[dash=#C0C0C0]

Strengths
  • Tactician - Strategy is the name of the game when it comes to war, and few are more tactical than the mind of Prince Judas. His mind is cool and collected when thinking about the battlefield, and his strategies have been known to save the king's armies even when they were vastly outnumbered.
  • Military Leader - What is more important than a tactical mind in war? A leader who knows how to fight alongside his men and raise moral when it's at its lowest. His speeches have been known to raise the spirits of thousands of men in the king's armies, and it is said that their raised spirits are what brings victory on the battlefield.
  • Sense of Valor - A warrior in heart and soul, Judas has great courage in the face of danger. He is very capable of keeping his cool in the heat of battle, and with his mighty Zandara at his side, he can stand up to almost anything without blinking. Almost anything...
  • Quick Thinking - When the fight takes a turn for the worse, a leader must know how to think on his feet. Judas has learned this over his many years and has become quite adept at such tasks.
Weaknesses
  • Weapon Preferences - While Judas is versed in other weaponry, his greatest weakness in war is his preference for the sword. He prefers the sword without a shield, and he rarely carries any other weapon with him. General Dumont has told him countless times that one day, this preference will get him killed.
  • Scarred - Being on the front of the battlefield has its downsides. The dozens of scars that litter his body can later become quite the cause for concern. However, the greatest of scars are those that settle in his mind and soul, overpowering some of his more sensible thoughts. His biggest weakness is his fear and hatred of fire, especially when being around the many beautiful fire type pokemon.
  • Politics - The goings-on in the court are none of Jude's business in his mind, and he wants as little to do with it as possible. He is no silver-tongue, nor does he try to be. He is blunt and to the point. Because of this, he often lets his brothers handle the political debacles, much to the irritation of his father.
  • Normal Communication - While he is perfect when speaking to those within the court and his men in the field, talking to an ordinary person is very challenging for the young prince. When someone asks for him to put pleasantries aside, he may stutter and become somewhat confused. His anger can make this weakness much worse, and he is known to say things that he does not mean.
  • Large, Formal Crowds - Formal attire and large crowds that are not uniform in nature are like the massive marble walls of his prison-like home. He becomes quite distant and uncomfortable in such crowds, which only makes his hatred of politics worse. It is a chaos he does not like or understand. However, he still follows orders when told to attend such...events.
  • Fear of Fire - Derived from previous encounters, Jude's intense fear of fire could be understandable were he willing to discuss it. However, to most his fear is so profound that many whisper that they are lucky he is not next in line to be king. His fear of it is so strong, in fact, that is negates all reason in his mind. This weakness will be something that will be the hardest to get past...but may also be his greatest triumph.
Skills
  • Swimming - With his intense love of water and his need to be as strong and fit as possible, swimming is a surefire pastime of Jude's. From ponds and lakes to rivers and even the occasional in one of the many fountains of the garden. Though, don't tell the King about that last bit.
  • Music - While his hands may not be the best for sketching or painting or even writing (General Dumont says his handwriting is like chicken scratch), Jude has a particular talent for soft, flowing music. He is well-taught in the art of the drum, the cello, and piano. He also dabbles in the fiddle and the piccolo for the amusement of his men.
  • The Art of the Sword - A man would not be a soldier without knowing the art of the sword. From birth, he was deemed to be a military man, and since he could walk, he has been trained in the art of the sword. He is never seen without his sword on his hip, even in the fine clothes of a ball, despite his father's wishes. He is quick on his feet and surprisingly agile despite his somewhat stout size. However, he is by no means a master just yet.
  • Athleticism - In order to be a warrior of any merit, one must stay in pristine condition at all times. Judas knows this better than most, and he spends a great deal of his time honing his body when not in the fields of war. His closest friends often tell him that he overdoes it, but this does not stop him. Of course, this also means he tends to eat more than his brothers.
  • Battled-Hardened Pokemon - Having been raised from a young age around massive and extremely aggressive pokemon, Judas is quite attuned to his calm mind when in the presence of such wildly dangerous creatures. He's even managed to calm and soothe a raging Onix who was threatening to destroy the entire encampment at one time. Of course, all fire types are exempt from this skill of his.

Zandara
Female Alpha Absol | Lvl 2

+Appearance+
2jeqnn5.jpg

Though she appears much like others of her kind, Zandara is half a size larger than the average Absol. She is slender and quick-footed, and her horns and face are a lighter shade of blue when shown in the light of the sun. Her eyes are also a brilliantly beautiful orange, sparkling much like the sun. Her white coat is almost always shiny, as if well-groomed, and the tuft that is thicker around her neck seems to stretch out somewhat like a mane.

+Personality+
Fiercely Loyal | Protective | Aggressive | Dominant | Brave

While Absol is already known to be quite the dominant kind of Pokemon, the Alpha Absol takes dominance and aggression to an entire new level. Using their larger size to dominate others of their kind, Alpha Absol's have been known to attack people if they're not careful. These Absol demand a great deal of respect for them, and they do not like to be touched by anyone but those they trust the most. This is what makes them such fierce companions when going into battle.

+Place Met+
Zandara was given to Judas at a young age by his closest friend, General Dumont, to be his companion when going to war. She was quite the young pup, and her attachment to Judas became so strong that he is never seen without her at his side.

Soran
Male Maned Eevee | Lvl 1

+Appearance+
2a8g3lf.jpg

For the most part, Soran looks like any other Eevee, a more fox-like appearance with a bushy tail and large, shining violet eyes. His greatest difference is the thickness of the lighter beige fur around his neck, which looks more like a fluffy scarf than just normal fur. His ears are also somewhat longer than the average Eevee, as are his legs. He appears somewhat slender, almost feminine. His personality greatly contrasts this. For best appearance, see image in main banner.

+Personality+
Wildly Curious | Energetic | Loyal | Compassionate | Diligent

Like all Eevees, the Maned Eevee is very compassionate and playful. Though they don't appear particularly special, they have a great deal of tricks up their sleeves that might shock those who underestimate them. They are very curious and inquisitive creatures, and once one has gained their loyalty, they will do everything in their power to prove their worth. They are more nimble than the average Eevee, but can also be a bit more fragile.

+Place Met+
Originally given to the prince by his mother as a birthday gift, this little Eevee grew to have an extreme affection for him and decided to stay, despite his efforts to set him free. He is often seen standing up to Zandara for the affections of Judas.

Gender: Male

Hometown: Technically Lavellia, although he never spent much time in town.

Occupation: Druid Saint

Personality in five words: Carefree, comforting, adventurous, outdoorsy, hearty
Brief history: He was born in the mountains north of Lavellia and raised in town, but spent most of his time in the forest to the south west. Biron met many Pokemon but only two treated him as a friend, a particularly fat Munchlax that he fed regularly, and Skiddo who helped him
hall back wood. He quickly gained a sort of singularity with nature, spending so much time in it, and now people come to see him, perceiving him as a sort of priest for the protector of forests, in a way, his little spot in the forest has become a shrine. He may be slightly insane, or he may be a legitimate religious figure, either way he can swing an axe
and has gone on numerous adventures to solve massive problems cuased by massive beasts. Really though, he might be mentally unstable.

Hahaha yes to the WoW dwarf! It's too bad you didn't go with a teddiursa or a cubchoo to have a bear lol

Hey, Red crow (I can't seem to tag you), I hate to be the bearer of bad news...but magic for the rangers is non-existent. Soul and I have decided that because we all have Pokemon, who are magically powerful on their own, the Rangers don't need any. However, you will be able to train your Pokemon certain skills (like TMs and HMs) based on what you get out of our loot drawings! XD

Also, as a side note, I love your ideas on the breeds! Very inventive. <3
