This is a call to all Pokémon fans. This RP will take place in an original region, named the Ginda region, that holds a unique evolution in Pokémon genetics. Put simply, some Pokémon developed a more human-like appearance, becoming Gijinka. These Gijinka can be caught, traded, and trained like normal Pokémon, but look more like a cross between the base Pokémon and a person. Of course, normal Pokémon still exist in this region, but the Gijinka phenomenon is what really draws interest.

Basically, how this will work is you may choose to play a Trainer, a Researcher, or a Gijinka. Each has it's own limits and abilities, like the Trainer is able to catch and train Pokémon and Gijinka, as well as their own interests, like Researchers wanting to study and learn about the Gijinka. If you choose to play as a Gijinka, be aware that you follow most of the rules of wild or trained Pokémon, but not all. You may, for example, attack a Trainer to defend yourself, which most Pokémon cannot do (at least in the games), but you can be caught and contained in a Pokeball. If you're trained, and the Trainer has the right to control you (I.E. enough badges or is your Original Trainer), then you also have to obey the Trainer's commands, though you can question them. Gijinka can always speak with Pokémon, but may (if trained or they choose to learn) speak with people as well.

Rules
No G-Modding: If you're a Trainer, you can't catch another player's Gijinka character without A) their permission, or B) weakening and catching them as you would a normal Pokémon. You don't decide if your Pokeball works, the Gijinka does. That said, Gijinkas must be aware that if they're severely weakened and/or under a status condition, you may be caught. You can't just declare yourself "Uncatchable." Be fair, but remember that if you're playing a Gijinka and you DO NOT want to be captured, you can always flee from a battle. Almost all Gijinka move faster than any normal human, and as such they can get away easily.

No Legendaries (some exceptions): No one can tame the Legendary Pokémon, so if you're a Trainer, you don't have any. Gijinka players MAY be permitted to play as a Legendary Pokémon Gijinka, but only if approved and it fits the story. Remember the above rule, however, and if a Trainer catches you, you're caught. Legendaries are still genderless, but may use whichever gender pronoun you prefer (he, she, it), and be masculine/feminine as desired.

No Masterball: The Masterball DOES NOT EXIST in this RP. I don't care if you're character is from another region, YOU CAN'T HAVE A MASTERBALL! Since other players can be Pokémon, anyone having the ability to auto-catch them is unfair. This is supposed to be fun, and the Masterball isn't fun.

Fair Battles: We're using the video games battle structure, so don't try to claim your Sandslash trained underwater and is resistant to Water-type attacks. If an attack is accurate in the games, it's accurate here.

About Adult Interaction: This is NOT a Mature RP. That said, there will be some mature content, such as swearing and even some elements of romance. However, for the sake of the RP, if two characters decide to have an "adult encounter," that will happen off-camera, and it will not be happening often. Breaking this rule WILL result in your sorry butt getting kicked, and your character will be controlled by someone else until such a time as they can be removed from the RP altogether. For the record, though, Gijinka CAN mate with humans, and they can breed (have children). Such children are the same species as the mother. No exceptions.

Post Order: This is a large issue with group RPs, so I'll get it out of the way now. There will be no real order, but we'd prefer it if everyone got to post before someone posts again. Battles are a bit of an exception, as these are supposed to happen in a fairly short time span, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

Story Trumps Rules: Myself and a few selected players will handle the story. What we say goes. We can (but mostly won't) break the above rules if it progresses or is essential for the story. For example, the big bad guy may have a Masterball, and we might intervene on occasion in battles, interrupting the post order to declare if an attack hits, misses, or if a Pokémon or Gijinka is caught or not. This will be fairly rare, but it MAY happen, so be aware.

The next post on this (done by not-me) will contain the three approved Character Sheets. Please use these, though slight modifications may be applied (I.E. you can use bold or underline as you wish). After that, I'll post the general plot for the RP, then we'll start accepting join requests.

Also, for the purposes of clarification, I will provide a list of all the Pokémon who are considered "Legendary" in this RP.

The Story

The mysterious Ginda region, home to the Gijinka branch of Pokémon evolution, is a mostly peaceful place. With it's own Legendary Pokémon, and the only place in the world that has the rarest of all Pokémon, Trainers from around the world come to see and study this beautiful and fascinating land. Then, one day, many Gijinka turned violent, attacking their Trainers and human civilizations without warning. Several researchers theorized that the cause of this was an upheaval in the region's Legendary Pokémon.

They could not have been more right. Team Vile, a group of criminals working out of Ginda region, had succeeded in acquiring the cloning machines used by Team Rocket to create the ultimate Pokémon: Mewtwo. Using these and some genetic records of Mewtwo supplied by Giovanni of Team Rocket, the group created their own Mewtwo, this one a Gijinka. This Pokémon's power rent the peaceful region in two, causing the Legendary Pokémon Gijinkas to disappear, their absence causing the Gijinka to panic.

Team Vile would not stop there. Next, they created their own Gijinka form of the Legendary Genesect. With these two Legendary Gijinka at their side, Team Vile made a move to conquer all of Ginda Region, destroying any that stood in their way. Many Gijinka were captured and made to serve the wicked Team Vile, and many more lost their lives in the great battles that shook the land.

Team Vile would not succeed, however. A new Gijinka, one of a Pokémon never before seen, appeared to stop the two Legendary that were the main muscle of the team. The fight was devastating, and many lives were lost, but after three days of constant fighting, the unknown Legendary won the battle, freeing the minds of his Legendary brethren. Team Vile, no longer in their position of power, fled to the shadows, disappearing and disbanding to avoid capture. Mewtwo and Genesect, now in control of their own destiny, disappeared as well, hiding until they could repair the damage they had caused.

The mysterious Gijinka also vanished, though many witnesses claim he promised to return one day. Images of him were widely spread, but many differed, and soon he became even more mysterious, as no one knew what his true appearance was. In the aftermath of the struggle, the already rare Gijinka had nearly been wiped out, and so they became extremely scarce as they restored their populations. The Ginda region humans sealed their ports, forbidding any outside interference for fear of losing the noble Gijinka.

Many years passed, and the Gijinka once more roamed the lands. Still smaller in number than normal Pokémon, they thrived once more, and Ginda opened it's borders, allowing Trainers and travelers to once more enter it's beauty. It has been thirty years since the great battle, only five years since Ginda reopened his lands, and the region is sure of it's lasting peace and prosperity. Little could they know, however, that Team Vile was once more on the rise, collecting their power again. Soon, they would make their presence known, trying to take their underground criminal organization to new heights. Who will stop them, and who leads this evil group?

Name: Walter Gulyas
Age: 17
Image:
pokemon_trainer_by_castiboy-d24iia8.png

Starting Region: Kanto
History: Born in Kanto, Walter started his pokemon journey fairly late, at age 14. The reason for this was because he had devoted time to helping his mother maintain the house. Walter used to be a member of Team Rocket in order to support his mother, but now that is no longer the case. While he failed to beat the Champion of the regions, he was able to defeat the Elite Four, yet refuses a spot on the Elite Four, as he prefers to travel and explore. Walter still keeps his Rocket Uniform in case he needs to infiltrate an area, yet sometimes this gets him in trouble with authorities who think he is a Rocket spy. For three years, Walter had been travelling the regions, until he hears of the mysterious Legendary of Ginda, and plans to find it.
Reason for coming to Ginda: Walter seeks to find the mysterious Legendary pokemon of the region, and has devoted absurd amounts of time making sure he got on the boat.

Venonat

Pokemon Name: Hayyim
Level: 63
Gender: Male
Ability: Tinted Lenses (Power of not very effective moves is doubled, effectively makes all NVE moves normally effective)
Moves: Zen Headbutt, Poison Fang, Sleep Powder, Double Team

Background: Venonat was found by Walter at Cerulean, where Walter named him Hayyim. Walter uses Hayyim the most out of his pokemon. Hayyim, for whatever reason, refuses to evolve, and insists on staying as a Venonat. Hayyim has been with Walter through all, if not most of his journeys. Together, Walter and Hayyim had already taken on and beaten the gym challenge in all of the originial regions.

Luxio
Pokemon Name: Batista
Level: 29
Gender: Male
Ability: Intimidate (Halves attack of enemy pokemon when sent into battle)
Moves: Swagger, Roar, Spark, Bite

Background: When travelling through Sinnoh, Walter found the Luxio, then a Shinx, fighting off groups of wild pokemon at once, as if eager to make his impression. Impressed, Walter caught the Shinx and named him Batista, and trained him up to be a Luxio. However, upon seeing Hayyim's refusal to evolve, Batista has shook his head at becoming a Luxray, instead focusing on his potential as a Luxio. Batista was used by Walter to complete some Sinnoh gyms, however, Walter primarily still used Hayyim, making Batista unfocused and jealous at times over lack of attention.

Ledyba
Pokemon Name: Delia
Level: 25
Gender: Female
Ability: Early Bird (Turns asleep reduced by half)
Moves: Reflect, Light Screen, Supersonic, Silver Wind
Background: Caught when Walter was travelling through Johto, Delia has proven time and time again to be essential to the team. With the moves Reflect and Light Screen, Delia has often proven her place on the team as a support

On a sidenote, may I ask what a Pokemon Name ext is?

Approved, and that stands for Pokemon Name Extension I think, basically the profile of each and every Pokemon on your team. Oh, it should be noted that Ginda region uses it's own PC system, so the only Pokemon you have on Ginda are the ones you catch there or bring with you.

Name
Kiam Avalon

Age
16

Appearance

dykg2q.jpg

Starting Region

Hoenn

Background
Kiam is a born and bred resident of Lavaridge Town in the Hoenn region, being brought up to value hard work, tradition, and family over most things. From the time he first began to move on his own, it was found that he had an almost boundless amount of energy, often propelling him to and fro around the small town with no real outlet for the adrenaline that kept him going with such fervor, much to the constant chagrin of his parents. Around the time of his sixth birthday, a traveling Black Belt had stopped by Lavaridge to experience their famous hot springs, and during his morning exercises the next day, he found himself joined by the hyperactive young child who was mimicking his movements as best he could. Bemused and slightly impressed with the young one's drive, the man decided to stay in Lavaridge and for the next year, took Kiam as his disciple, drilling into him the basics of martial arts and thankfully, giving the young child something to focus his energy into.

Even with his master's eventual departure, Kiam had become so enamored with martial arts that he continued to devote himself to his practices, growing stronger and more skilled as the years passed. By his 10th Birthday, he was incredible able for a child and a chance meeting with a lone Tyrouge just outside of town lead to a rather impressive duel of skills between man and Pokemon. By the end of the drawn match, the two had become irrevocably bound by their shared spirit and drive; it was at this time that Kiam decided that now was the time to begin his very own Pokemon Journey, and considering his skill and obvious desire to take part in the common right of passage, his parents agreed. With friend Jack now by his side, the two set off into the world. The trials they faced were harsh and many, but as he and Jack pressed on, they made more friends together and took down the Hoenn gyms systematically as they traveled the verdant countryside.

By the time they reached the Elite Four, Jack had evolved into a full fledged Hitmonchan and with the assistance of Siena the Gardevoir, Dio the Salamance, and Rena the Mismagius, the five set off towards their greatest challenge yet. The hardest fight Kiam had put himself against in the 6 years he'd been a trainer, but with the trust shared between the small group and the power they'd cultivated through months of intense training amongst themselves, they eventually managed to plow through to an overwhelming victory over the Hoenn Elite Four. It was a well fought and well celebrated victory to be sure, but Kiam had never really been one to be satisfied with merely one victory, and with the Hoenn Champion's whereabouts being currently unknown, he made the choice to pack up and set sail for the recently discovered Ginda Region, seeking new adventures, new friends, and new challenges to keep both himself and his team razor sharp.

Current Pokemon Team -

Jack the Hitmonchan
_________________________
Level:
62
Gender: Male
Ability:
Keen Eye
Moves: Mach Punch, Counter, Sky Uppercut, Double Team
Background: Jack is the defacto leader of Kiam's team and the first Pokemon that ever joined him on his journey after a heated fist fight between the two. Every since then, Jack has been a steadfast friend and a powerful front line bruiser on the team, capable of dishing out just as much as he can take before sniping off a weakened opponent.

Siena the Gardevoir
_________________________
Level:
60
Gender: Female
Ability:
Trace
Moves: Psychic, Shadow Ball, Calm Mind, Heal Pulse
Background: The second Pokemon that Zac encountered on his travels, Siena might not have been the powerhouse that Jack was, but her drive and dedication is what drew Kiam to her as a partner. With that drive, she quickly evolved from a Ralts to a Gardevoir, taking the tactical position of the team and focusing on hitting the opponent in their blind side rather than head on; as well, she is also a magnificent healer, capable of keeping even the headstrong Jack in a fight he'd otherwise faint in.

Rena the Mismagius
_________________________
Level:
57
Gender: Female
Ability:
Levitate
Moves: Inferno, Phantom Force, Aerial Ace, Energy Ball
Background: Unlike the other members of the team, Rena started off as a Misdreavus who was relentlessly bullied by local Pokemon, Kiam and his team quickly fought them off to prevent the poor Pokemon from coming to any more harm. Gaining a deep respect for the hearty band, she began to follow Kiam on his journey until he eventually offered her a spot on his team. From there, her self confidence flourished and by the time she had become a Mismagius, she was performing death defying feats that left even Kiam with bated breath.

Dio the Salamence
_________________________
Level:
54
Gender: Male
Ability:
Moxie
Moves: Swords Dance, Dragon Claw, Fly, Dragon Tail
Background: Dio is the youngest and lowest leveled of Kiam's team, but by no means does this mean he is any less of a powerhouse. He may be thickheaded, considering the fact that as a Bagon he challenged Jack to a record 42 lost fights before finally becoming a full fledged member of the team, he gave the Hitmonchan a run for his money every single time. As a Salamence, he's even more dangerous with his drive to win, often tearing through opponents with fervor and even dragging out others on the opposing team for an earlier than expected beating.
